They have a checkin area where you can unload all your stuff as well before moving your car to the parking lot. The cottages have a microwave & a refrigerator with a sink. You can't use the stove/oven, just FYI. I did a 1 nighter in a shared cottage in November. It was cooler weather and we were in the white house upstairs. We had the loft and another party had the side room. We have no issues sharing the common space and it was fun to experience. This April, I scored a 2 night in cottage 4B on the only rainy/gloomy weekend we've had here. Of all the luck. Within 6days of reservation date, you lose 1 night stay so it was sunk cost so I went ahead and did both nights. Easy to check in and checkout. If you are down the hill, you can get a ride on the golf carts which are very nice. 2 cars overnight as well per cabin. Rooms were clean. There is no AC so be prepared depending on your weather. I wanted to leave windows open but most don't have a screen so you get bugs and I was afraid of critters coming in. (Saw it on a youtube from someone. ) Each cottage is different but great to get away. Beautiful location! SYOY!

Ok. I grew up in Orange County and only found out about place this a couple of months ago…read more The history of the cottages is way too long to go into here, but it is very interesting. Currently there are full cottages (like an Airbnb), dorms (private rooms with shared living space),and three ADA cottages. The prices range from $53 -$338 per space, per night, all year. Reservations for the cottages open up 6 months in advance at 8am, and the dorms open up 1 month in advance at 8am. The max time length is 7 days, per reservation. They are located right on the beach in Crystal cove, with full kitchens, bedding, towels, and toilet paper. The views are GORGEOUS!!! Lots of windows, and there is nothing like falling asleep to the sound of waves crashing. We stayed in 29B which is the loft inside building 29 (4 twin beds and private bath downstairs) so cute, so comfortable, and just a lovely stay! The Beachcomber restaurant is located right on the beach as well, serving breakfast lunch and dinner. SUPER packed in summer, not such much in winter. There is a snack bar area, a couple historical building, and a souvenir shop adjacent to the restaurant. The Shake Shack is up at the top of the cliff, up a huge flight of stairs, on PCH. There is also a private meeting room located next to the reg office if you wanted to host a meeting overlooking the ocean. PLEASE NOTE FOR PARKING: the reg office is located past the ranger station, and you have to drive up there to get your keys and unload your car. Then you are given a parking permit, and have to drive your car across the street (PCH) and walk back to the cottage area, about a 10 min walk with minor hills. For the ADA cottages, you can park very close to the cottage. PRO-TIP: bring your own coffee cups, plates, silverware. Very limited in the cabin

This was our first stay at the Pasea and so much of it was great!…read more PROS We bought our two young dogs and two kids and it was a great experience traveling with them! First of all, the people who work here are so nice! Peter was always smiling and giving the dogs treats (with permission every time). I swear they started looking for him- and they're pretty anxious around people. There are no dogs allowed in the pool area which I get but it makes it a little tough to juggle the kids wanting to swim for hours and not leaving the dogs unattended in the room. The beds were comfy and they have a built in sound machine system and it was the first time I have ever see that! I loved it! I struggle to sleep in hotels but wasn't bothered by any noise. The hotel is right across from the beach and next to an outdoor shopping mall. We walked to and from multiple times on our trip and it was nice to be close by! They also have beach chairs, towels and sand toys to borrow! They have adult bikes but nothing for the kids so we didn't utilize those. The restaurant is good with dog friendly seating and gluten free options. We had dinner there only. CONS the dog park is so cute and convenient but it wasn't sprayed off at all while we were there and since it was plastic grass, there was poo smeared all over the place. It was hard to find a spot to stand and you hope your dog doesn't walk through it. It also smells like warm pee. We were still grateful for it but I think a small patch of real grass would have been less gross! The fee for dogs is $150 a night and that adds up quickly! The bathrooms are not practical for families. They don't lock, the toilet room has fogged clear glass with big gaps so no one could be in the bathroom getting ready or showering if anyone else was in the toilet room. Also, there was a slider on the outside of the shower that allows the entire room to see you in the shower which was odd. I understand the desire for this if it was a couples trip but why not have the sliding door on the inside so the naked person can make the decision rather than anyone on the outside deciding to open it mid-shower? Parking is a whopping $60 a night plus there is only valet which means you either tip every single time you pull your car in or out or you feel like a jerk. The valet guys were great and we wanted to tip everyone but ran out of small cash bills quickly. We stayed two nights and had to pull our car out 4 times which is 8 tips. When you're paying $120 to park that's crazy! The jacuzzi is just warm not hot and the jets when on are cold! That was bummer. Overall I don't think we will return because there are so many awesome hotels in the area to try but we did enjoy our stay and found it worth the money! The Shorebreak Hotel doesn't charge for dogs so we will be going there next time!

Pool manager would not give us an umbrella despite nobody using them.... I told her even if we could have it for a little bit and when those people come we would give it back just so i could feed my son in peace and give him some shade. "There was nothing she could do" i then went for the hotel manager to see if they could step in and they weren't in, asked for the next person in charge she wouldn't even come out of the back room - just sent the front desk girl back to tell me she can't do anything... despite being incredible respectful and kind and literally begging for 5 hours for an umbrella there was "nothing to be done" i even asked for the cabana boys umbrella that wasn't being used in the corner... finally after hours of asking our amazing poolside waitress who kept fighting for us Natalie asked the people who weren't using one of the TWO umbrellas they had for the sun bed they generously gave it to us. We were so grateful.... Soo basically bring down the hand held umbrella in the closet HAHA cause you're screwed... not sure why the hotel doesn't have more umbrellas considering it's $600 a night.... And it's ridiculous to pay $300 for an umbrella basically. Hopefully they figure out the umbrella situation multiple people were pissed. ALSO- Peter best bell hop in the whole place! He's absolutely incredible and kind. He's extremely helpful with everything. Definitely request him

My family and I decided to stay there for Spring Break, and it was our first time visiting the hotel. From the moment we arrived, the valet staff warmly greeted us and opened our doors with such kindness and professionalism. Upon entering the hotel, everyone at the front desk was incredibly welcoming and friendly. Gershorn, the bellman, was especially engaging and extremely helpful with storing our items and assisting us at the front desk. The front desk manager, Itzya, who checked us in, was also very engaging with us and our children. She provided outstanding customer service and made sure we had all the amenities and information we needed since it was our first time staying at the resort. Our room was fantastic, with a beautiful view of the Huntington Beach Pier. We had the opportunity to watch the sunset overlooking the ocean, which was truly remarkable and such a special memory to share with our family. The kids had an absolute blast at the Driftwood Pool. The pool service was amazing as well. The staff frequently checked on us, and our food was brought out in a timely manner. The security team also provided excellent customer service and did a wonderful job ensuring the pool area remained secure. Sean Williams (Security Director) & Jose (Security Manager) did an outstanding job with the security team they created. We also had the pleasure of meeting the general manager, Paulette Fischer, who personally greeted us and made sure our stay was going well. There are not many hotels I have visited where the General Manager personally interacts with guests. Thank you, Paulette, for taking the time to connect with your guests and make them feel welcome. Thank you again to the entire team for making our family vacation such a memorable experience. We truly look forward to returning in the future

This hotel and its policies have been an absolute nightmare. There is currently a reported chemical…read moregas leak issue, and we pleaded with the hotel to simply move our reservation from this weekend to another date. Because we booked through a third-party site, we were completely denied any flexibility or accommodation. To make matters worse, I was repeatedly criticized for not booking directly through Hilton instead of receiving any empathy or assistance. As a parent of a 3- and 5-year-old, I am not willing to risk exposing my children to any potential chemical issue, regardless of how many times staff insisted it was "perfectly safe." We are now out $1,400 simply because we chose to prioritize our children's health and safety. I even offered multiple times to pay an additional fee just to reschedule the stay, but was told "policy is policy." For some families, losing $1,400 and a family vacation may not matter. For ours, it absolutely does. The lack of compassion, flexibility, and customer care was shocking. I would give this hotel zero stars if possible. I have since deleted my Hilton Honors account and will strongly discourage friends, family, and community members from staying at Hilton properties in the future. Extremely disappointing experience from start to finish.

It's a couple who runs the place, and both of them are awesome. The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated. If you go there, request the "guest room" - super comfy bed and plenty of space for your luggage. Comes with its own private bathroom, too. The #1 best part is the pool area. Great sized pool and spa. They keep it heated during the summer months, so it stays around 80-82 degrees. You can jump right in. There's also a spa with jets. That weekend, they had a ping pong table, so it was super fun challenging other guests to games. The landscaping is beautiful: palms, olive tree, roses, and a young plumeria that had a perfect smelling bloom. The #2 best part is the food. They know how to feed their guests! Saturday morning breakfast was eggs, boiled peanuts, and potatoes. We had late lunch/early dinner: Chicken, pulled pork (at just the right temperature), chow mein, and tons of fresh fruit. Dessert was cookies, and one of the guests brought cheesecakes from 85 degrees, so that was awesome. We basically hung out by the pool all day. It was a super fun stay and we can't wait to go back. The owners do a great job of making you feel welcome and at home. If you get lucky, the guy will show you his wine cellar and game room (if you're into games). Definitely recommended for couples who want a pool vacation. Not much privacy by the pool, but if your fellow guests are as cool as the ones we were with, it will feel like a pool party with friends.

Housekeeping staff was very thorough and hardworking; very impressed by each of them I encountered over a 4-night stay. The rooms and common areas are somewhat aged, showing more wear and tear than I cared for. It would be awesome to have plumbing and electrical fixtures modernized. Some carpet and flooring was marred. It is important to note that this place is clean, but some areas unattractive due to aging. The location is excellent. The beach is ~5 miles straight down Beach Blvd. The hotel is just off of the 405 fwy. Bella Terra (outside mall with movie theater, many shops and restaurants) is across the street. Buca de Beppo Italian restaurant is close by, as is Costco. Next door is the Old World Village, great anytime but especially good for Oktoberfest. There is a bar in the lobby and a large restaurant that offers a very reasonably priced breakfast buffet ($14.99). Beds were pretty comfortable. Location is great for grocery, entertainment and restaurant. Very walkable! Parking is complimentary, just make sure that all vehicles parking overnight gets a parking pass. The halls could be a wee better lit, a lil' dark and eerie if you ask me! My room was 402, a room that is near a stairwell. Anytime a guest opens the door to the stairwell, it will rattle the room door causing really loud noise. If I were staying for more than one night, I would ask to move rooms. One of the better options in the area for pricing, I would stay again and I would recommend. They were clean, modern and got the job done. With that being said, they do exceed basic necessities but don't expect anything super fancy or luxurious.
