But they are not…read more They messaged us on the day of our scheduled annual physical to let us know that we can't get lab work done during the appointment because their lab closes around the appointment time, and I will have to come in another time to just get my lab works done. How could they not know this earlier and reach out to reschedule? They just expect me to take time off again during a work week to come in? This is very unprofessional, and disrespectful of anyone's time, especially during a work week. I chose the membership because I wanted a more efficient way to see doctors but they made it harder and more difficult than just any traditional doctor's office out there. On the phone with an administrative assistant, complained about the situation and asked to speak with someone about cancelling the membership. She did not even try to keep me as a member at all, and didn't even bother to let me speak anyone. All I knew was my membership is canceled and I will get the refund. Let's see how far this type of operation and attitude can take you. Funny thing is, there are just so many doctors office out there to choose from.

When I finally asked staff what was going on, I was told the PA had already left for the day without communicating anything to me regarding my care or next steps. I also expressed to a nurse that I felt uncomfortable and dismissed by the interaction, and her response was, "Well what would you like me to do? We're all uncomfortable." In addition, I asked another staff member in burgundy scrubs and glasses for a blanket and was ignored for nearly an hour before someone else finally helped me. The overall atmosphere felt disorganized, inattentive, and lacking compassion. Patients deserve communication, professionalism, and basic courtesy, especially in an emergency setting.

At that point I had already paid so I accepted it. On the morning of the appointment, they cancelled. When I tried to rebook, it was another 45 days out. So over 3 months for an appointment for a doctor's office that I'm paying for to avoid just that situation. I couldn't recommend any less. The only positive is that they refunded my initial subscription.

Over that time, I became grateful for their accessibility, either through tele-health or on the phone; the ability to actually schedule an appointment less than two months out; and the human conversations I was able to have with my principal care provider. But... since the Amazon takeover, my experience has soured greatly. About 5 or 6 years ago, I had begun to notice that providers seemed to be under more pressure to see more patients in less time. I attributed it to the network's growing popularity. But now, post-Amazon, all legacy phone numbers for individual offices now flow into a national system where nobody answers. After 20+ minutes of waiting, you usually end up with the only option of leaving a message and hoping someone calls you back within a day, or just hanging up. Only the most determined person gets to speak with a human being. And worst of all... the list of insurance plans which they do not accept has become (according to the one person I spoke with) "shockingly long." Of course, my plan is now one of them. So I cancelled my membership. And within seconds, my access to the app was shut off. One Medical, it seems, is quick to transact, but reticent to serve. I used to be a strong advocate for One Medical. And it's a tragedy what they've become. I certainly hope they either return to their previous state of service, or that a competitor fills this space.

He took the time to listen to my concerns, ordered appropriate labs, adequately informed me what was going to be extra vs. what would normally be covered. A few weeks later, we had a televisit in which he went in depth in discussing my labs. All communication outside that for referrals and additional labs are done by via text. Their staff are also great and are able to clearly communicate their messages. Highly recommend.

I see Dr. Lamarre now and she's wonderful! But the great thing is that if I need to see someone else in a different location they have always been just as awesome. Can't recommend enough.
