Eller's Restaurant is one of the most underrated places to eat and have a drink in Worcester County! The prices are good, food is fresh and above average, the menu and specials change from time to time, and the atmosphere grows on you. One of the few places that does a wonderful job at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This is a townie restaurant done right. This place is always clean, and fun. Parking lot is a toilet however, but I don't think that is their fault. There was a gentleman who posted a review about Eller's and didn't understand why all the love. I can't speak for everyone, but I love the place because the owners love the place. You can tell the ownership has a lot of passion for the establishment, and they have love for the community too. Combine that with the other things I mentioned above, and you have a great combination! Eller's is a great restaurant to be a regular at as well. Excellent breakfast buffet! It's fair priced for the quality of food you get. The sausage gravy with homemade biscuits were tasty. The bacon was not rubbery like you get at many buffet lines and cooked to be slightly crispy. Jeff the owner was cooking omelettes well stuffed and delivered to your table. wow This place was fantastic from the moment we walked in!! The atmosphere was family, pub style and friendly. The staff was pleasant, polite and very helpful. It was our first time there and we were treated like friends.The food was hot and absolutely delicious!!! and the prices were incredible. The best part was I ordered a shrimp dinner, which was not only fabulously delicious and cooked to profection, the shells of the shrimp were removed to make it easier to enjoy. This is one of my FAVORITE places to eat. We prefer the bar/lounge side for the popcorn, Keno and ambiance. Without fail we are immediately and warmly greeted the second we walk through the door. The servers are fast, friendly and live by the motto on the back of their shirts "Just another day in paradise". The employees like working here and it shows in their demeanor, their attitude and their serving - this is a happy place. Last night I stepped outside the box - I just love the haddock mornay here and the fact they offer a lighter, less expensive portion for when I am not that hungry - and ordered the manicotti special. DELICIOUS. 2 huge manicotti, 1 meatball, 1 sausage and extra sauce like I asked for :) Half for dinner and the rest for lunch today and it was still absolutely delicious. Although I usually have a glass of wine with dinner I have tried several beers and some of the fun, original mixed drinks as well. Although I am usually way too full for dessert I have managed to squeeze it in on occasion and all I can say is wow. Each dessert is decadent and mouth-watering. I don't know how this place gets such high ratings because we had dinner there late on a Saturday afternoon and it was less than impressive. The service was lackadaisical; we had to ask for drink refills twice. The food was tolerable but the cook was just that - a cook. No ingenuity in the way the food was prepared and presented. I had a "chicken cordon bleu" and it was merely a huge chicken breast that had been grilled, a slice of deli ham was laid on top and covered with a slice of Swiss cheese, then the breast was coated in egg and bread crumbs and a few crushed "Corn Flakes" were added as a topping before it was served. The portion was too much and the meat was tough to cut and chew. This place would be a good diner where one can get large portions of filling food, but it doesn't cut it as a restaurant. Went to Eller's with a group as we do every 1st Tuesday of the month. When we arrived the tables for the 12 of us were not set up and we had to move the table and chairs ourselves and wait for them to set them up. Service was extremely slow and we had to repeatedly ask for coffee, water, jelly, extra napkins etc. Usually the food and service are better but not this time..as I said food delivery was slow and one of the party ordered the latkes. They seemed like simple mashed potatoes made into a ball and she only ate about 1/4 of the two. The waitress never asked if anything was wrong or did she want to order anything else. It is not a big deal but when the group spends $125 to $150 for breakfast they should be taken care of.......if Eller's doesn't appreciate the business i'm sure others would. Went here for a Sunday brunch and Thursday trivia. The Sunday brunch is great, with a buffet and omelets made to order for only $12.99. There was a group of 7 of us for trivia and I made the mistake of not making a reservation ahead of time. The owner and trivia host were very accommodating. We ate dinner in the dining area and the host came over and read the questions to us separately. Waitress was extremely attentive. Food was pretty good and a great deal with soup/salad, entree and small dessert for $13. read more

We had heard good thing about Eller's so we invited some friends and went last Saturday. The menu had something for everyone . I ordered baked fish , big mistake! The meals arrived and look good, my fish was over done, rubbery! When the waitress came over and I told here she apologized and said she would correct this. The owner came over and asked what was wrong I told him the fish was over cooked. He then said how would you like it cooked , under cooked or rare! I never heard of such a thing! I wanted it flakey but I decided on a salad instead! Then he went to the table next to us , he seem to know them and said was your meal terrible too!!! I've been here multiple times for breakfast lunch and dinner and always got great service. But last night I was particularly impressed. The waiter was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The food also came out very quickly. Not in a rushed way but in a timely manner. And it was delicious. Eller's offers good food with a little step beyond the ordinary in quality, price and taste and usually enough for a "doggy bag.". I love the Greek chicken pesto with angel hair. I have been to both the old and new sites and the transfer of good things was accomplished. The only complaint I have is in the atmosphere (ambiance) or rather, the lack there of. Whoever chose the decoration must have overdosed on black and white movies or had been deeply depressed. The ceiling is black with recessed lights, the walls nondescript and the carpeting industrial mouse gray. The result is like walking into a meeting hall. Please, owners, consider investing into different colors of paint and some ambient lighting! Lest you forget -- the food is very good. read more

Considering there are about 4 restaurants total in Leicester (that are not pizza joints), this is by far the best one. The Castle should have pulled up the drawbridge years ago. Barber's Crossing is just depressing. Cheoy Lee's Bank... I mean Chinese food kind of fits under the pizza joint category since it's mainly take out (although just a tiny smidgen of effort at ambience would be nice to see in there)... Anyway, Eller's is good. It's the down-home townie bar/pub/restaurant that you can just throw something on and head over to and know you'll leave full and satisfied. The servers are friendly, the place is clean, the specials are proof that the chef tries to be inventive with his cooking and overall, it's just one of those easy places to go when you want something inexpensive, tasty and comforting. They also have a good breakfast. If you're in the area and in the mood for something easy, resist the urge to go to a chain (i.e. The 99, Chili's, Applebees's, etc.) - instead give your money and patronage to a local business like this one. read more

Yesterday my family and I went to Eller's for breakfast. We walked in and were told about a 15 minute wait. Not too bad. After about 25 minutes I went to see how much longer it would be. The hostess couldn't find my name as someone had come in and taken our place in line. She immediately went to the manager and came back to tell us that a table was ready. Just after sitting down, the manager(?) came over to apologize for the situation and to make sure we were ok. Drinks and food were ordered and we sat back to enjoy each other's company. When the food came out, it was fantastic. After eating the manager came back over to check on us again which I thought was a great gesture. Finally the check arrived. They had graciously comped half our check as a way of making things right. They absolutely did not have to do this. The apologies were enough. We cannot wait to go back and will tell everyone we know to go here for any meal! read more

Service here is good, except when they're slow. At such times the waitresses, who are normally attentive, become much less so. And starting about 3 or 4 weeks ago, breakfast meals have gone down hill. Food comes out greasy as evidenced by the reddish residue covering the plate beneath the food. Toast is plastered thick with butter. So much so your fingers end up greasy. Poached eggs on eggs benedict come out almost raw. When sent back to the kitchen, they come back overcooked. This restaurant has great people and a great potential, but the quality of cooking is inconsistent. read more

Eller's is wonderful! Appetizers were delicious, the sausage puffs especially. Our waitress was great, she was very genuine and attentive. All of the staff was friendly and hard-working. Entrees were delicious, I had some wonderful haddock. For dessert, we had an amazing chocolate brownie type thing with ice cream. It was so good! We took my mother-in-law there for lunch/brunch last Sunday, and although she has always liked going there, I thought it was awful. It was incredibly noisy. My mother-in-law ordered the Mediterranean Haddock and enjoyed it, but it appeared to have been thrown on the plate. Perhaps a less "hurried" presentation would have been appreciated. My husband and I opted for the vegetable omelets, which were pretty flavorless. The red potatoes on the side were supposed to be grilled but they were soggy, as though they had been sitting in a pan too long and should have been chucked instead of served. A good dark rye was served with the omelets, but the toast was drenched with melted fat, so do ask for your toast dry with butter on the side if you want to control your fat intake. Our waitress was very nice, but I was surprised when she asked me if I wanted a glass for the bottle of spring water I had ordered instead of tap water. I can't imagine a person with any class drinking water out of a bottle instead of a glass at restaurant. It is not really my kind of place. read more

Eller's is hands down our favorite place for breakfast. My boyfriend and I go there almost every weekend. They have great homemade corned beef hash, I always get the eggs Benedict bc they cook it perfect, the egg whites are never runny but the yolks always are. The servers are all great, friendly & knowledgable. Linda is our favorite. The owner seems like a real nice guy and he chats up customers all the time. Mudslides and bloody marys are great. My wife and I just moved into Cherry Valley last week. We love local small pubs. We were told about this place and said let's try it for lunch. I expected the look from the regular patrons that all new comers get when strangers walk into their pub. You know that look.... "Who the hell is this?" Well I was pleasantly surprised when we walked in almost every patron said hello as we sat down at the bar. I was shocked! The service was very quick and extremely friendly. The manager or owner came out and walked around saying hello to everyone and asking how the food and everything was. Again I was shocked!! The food was good pub grub and would recommend it to anyone. After our wonderful breakfast experience, my husband and I stopped in to Eller's for brunch. He got the steak and eggs again and they were perfect. I got the baked haddock with crumb topping, baked potato and glazed carrots. The fish was beautifully fresh and cooked perfectly. It wasn't dry and it wasn't floating in butter. It really was perfect. The buttered crumbs were seasoned delicately and they were a compliment to the fish. They weren't over powering and the fish wasn't buried in them. The carrots are maple glazed and they're also fresh. The baked potato was also delicious. The waitress was wonderful, friendly and attentive. We left spending less than $50. We left planning that our next visit would be dinner. We went out to dinner today (7/19/14) I'm a seafood fanatic so we split an order of the crab cakes for an appetizer. My husband ordered the fish and chips and he was thrilled with the huge piece of fresh haddock, fried and slaw. I ordered the baked fisherman's platter with those delicious crumbs I mentioned at our last visit. Again, the waitress was awesome, friendly and suggested different items and told us about weekly specials we could check out on their website. The portions are large and I brought some of mine home. This place is now our first choice for going out whether it's breakfast, lunch or dinner. Friendly service, fresh delicious (I know I keep using that word...but it really is) food, and great prices.
