I know Ellys from my old neighborhood in Chicago, Jefferson Park area. This location is as good as the other except this one has an adorable patio! It's not huge maybe 8 tables but it is right in front. I noticed Ellys when I was having Lou'd Pizza across the way. We wanted breakfast right before the lockdown and I remembered it was there. We will definitely return once lockdown ends.... we like breakfast on the patio. We play scrabble. It's our thing. We tried cinnamon roll brioche? french toast as a side and it was excellent. Sugary and rich but yummy! You might split it if you get the full size. Their dutch baby pancakes are worth the wait.... I promise!! read more

Totally disappointed, first of all we waited 45 min to be seated after we were told it was a 20 min wait. After we sat down we ordered our drinks and was given incorrect beverages. Once we ordered our food it took about an hour and 30 min to get the food all be wrong again. After getting the correct food we wait again for silverware. Once silverware arrived we needed syrup for pancakes and French toast. The disappointment was real this time so unfortunate. read more

I literally only created a yelp account to be able to leave this review. I relate to another review down below as we experienced similar experiences. We visited Ellys today Sunday 9/18 super excited since it was our first time & even though it was a 35 minute wait for 4 (my husband & I with our 2 daughters 5yr/7months) we were ok with that since it smelled great & it was busy it just be great right? We signed in at 12:09pm & got called at 12:42 being notified our table was ready. We ordered drinks & food everything was great till tables who sat after us got there food before, I didn't raise awareness because maybe what we ordered takes longer to prep? Our food finally arrived 1 hour after being sat down, it was cold as it was sitting there for a long time and our waiter never came to check on us in that hour of us not having food another waitress brought our food out to us and she was super nice and asked if we needed anything else I mentioned we still needed my daughters waffle she came back to tell us our waiter never put it in but it would be right out, if we needed anything else. That's when I mentioned our food was cold already & she mentioned she'd get the manger for us which I thank her for because it helped reassure that the service we received wasn't up to par. It sucks that thanks to 1 waiter not only did we waist 2 hours of our time and didn't even eat, but it also ruined our experience at Elly's being our first time visiting & I honestly wouldn't recommend it & won't be going back. read more

We want to support local businesses but if you can't fulfill a simple order you have no business opening doors .And the quality of the food not even great to begin with. I have had two great experiences at Elly's - Both times I got the waffle - once the banana nutella and the second time I asked if I could get it with the mascarpone and berries, this is not on the menu and traditionally offered on the pancakes or french toast. They accommodated the request and boy was it delicious, give this a try if you like waffles! The waffle here has consistently been crispy and light and airy, not dense like a lot of other places. My husband got the avocado wrap which was super bland and didn't seem to have any seasoning. I do not recommend this. The hash browns on the side that it came with were good with some salt and pepper and the latte was also decent. read more

Our family loves the food here. Service is becoming a miss. Sometimes we do "to go" orders on Sunday to bring Elly's food home. I'm getting concerned about their service, however. When we called to place our order we were told it should be about 15 minutes. It ended up being 30 minutes - which isn't a problem on a Sunday morning, but just try to give a better estimate of the kitchen wait time. When we got home, we were missing food. We called the restaurant to let them know, and after waiting on the phone for 5 minutes and getting dropped, then calling back the individual who answered the phone seemed pretty disengaged. He offered to comp me for the pancakes that were missing, but not even a small, "sorry about that." So: Elly's has great food. For that reason, I'll probably be back. But I hope management can take a look at folks that interface with customers. read more

This is a new brunch spot located on the corner of central and camelback. It's slightly tucked away behind AJs fine foods. When you walk in the interior decor is very intriguing. My friend and I were immediately seated. The menu has plenty of options to choose from, almost makes it hard to narrow down. I chose the Ole omelet and a classic waffle. My friend chose the corn beef hash with eggs and potatoes. Our server was prompt and efficient and always made sure we were okay. Ellys is was the perfect addition to the uptown plaza! I go there atleast once a month and aside from the food being amazing the ambiance of the place is so uplifting. It is a a very energetic and positive place that you don't want to leave. The food portions are great, I recommend the breakfast wrap. It can get busy so the earlier you go the better. read more

My husband and I love coming here for brunch. Super reasonably priced! I hate when places charge an arm and a leg for something like eggs or French Toast. I love their French Toast, it's one of the best I've had and I get French Toast almost every time we go to a brunch place. I had an iced chai latte and loved it! We've had the same server the last couple of times we've been there and she wasn't too great, hardly talked to us. But the food was great and came out very quickly so can't complain! Love it!! Came in for breakfast today with my 1 year old and was immediately greeted with hellos, smiles, & upbeat employees! My server was wonderful. She was quick, and offered to help me with things like boxing my food, as she knew I was by myself with my daughter. She also made sure to thank me for cleaning up my daughters mess which was totally unnecessary but the acknowledgment was kind, & appreciated! The food was also very nicely portioned, & delicious! I was a server/bartender/manager for 9 years & this place was one of the best I've been to in a really long time! Everyone seemed to be helping each other as a team, & literally everyone I came in contact with was so nice so I just had to leave this review! I should have known we were in trouble from the start, when we asked how sweet the chai was, the server said not at all, and then brought a cup of milk and sugar with hardly any tea in it. We didn't have a good experience when they were fairly new. We decided to give it another chance. It was about 11am and we were able to get a table outside after a 15-minutes wait. We ordered right away so got the food really fast. The service was great. We were in and out but were able to enjoy the food, view and the atmosphere. Service was a tad slow. Food was delicious however. They have a wide variety of coffees and are accommodating to your v requests. They have delicious breakfast as well as burgers . First time at the Arizona location. The restaurant is huge, modernish looking. Host was very welcoming, the restaurant was nearly empty on a Tuesday morning around 730. The food was good. I got the waffle and eggs, my boyfriend got the egg sandwich which comes with a huge portion of hash browns. He said the sandwich was really good, he also got a side of the brioche French toast. He said my waffle tasted better then the French toast, nothing to write home about. We will be back when we have more time to try the German pancake (takes 30 min to bake). Our server was very attentive, great service. Gave this restaurant another try. We tried the Dutch baby, the country benedict and the regular Benedict. The server seemed to forgot about out Dutch baby (I know they take awhile to cook) but we ordered the Dutch baby as soon as we sat down. Then once he came back to take our order we ordered the bene's. The server cleaned up our plates and asked if we needed anything else and we said our Dutch baby. He looked like he had that "oh crap look." Not saying he forgot to put the order in because he brought us syrup at the beginning, but we did have to wait about 20-25 more minutes after finishing our food for the Dutch baby to come out. Country bene was good, my boyfriend thought the gravy could be better. He said the Dutch baby was cooked perfect tho. I usually love going to this place. Its was my go to place for great breakfasts. For some reason we had a waitress that made it uh, a unique visit. Simple request, no powdered sugar on my waffles. (I am diabetic and I can treat myself to a few things but powdered sugar is not one of them). She put the plate down and the waffles had powdered sugar. I told waitress, she responded with a question....did I want them to recook the order. I NEVER send back food. Ever! I don't like any aspect of sending food back considering the person dealing with cooking or serving my food knowing I am not happy with it. No thank you. During the initial taking of our order my wife asked for extra napkins, had to ask again. Asked for hot sauce, had to ask again. DELICIOUS!!! Went on a Saturday morning for brunch. I tried the Chile Verde chilaquiles! I wish the chips would of been more toasted and more queso fresco. But besides that it was AMAZING! And totally recommend. Oh, and they have $3 mimosas! They won my heart with that. lol read more
