A good 24-hour diner that's got a ton of options. The food wasn't half way bad either! Having just moved into the area, I'm sure this review will evolve with time, but after my first meal (which was at midnight), I'm sitting at 3-stars. The Spaghetti side order is absolutely huge, with home-made marinara. Honestly, one of the best dishes in the place. The chili is also good, very hearty and perfect on a cold night. On top of a hot-dog it'd be great, and it just so happens they have duel chili-cheese dogs on the menu! There are a ton of desert options, some amazing looking cakes and pies in the counter cooler! I can't wait to try more of them! Price wise, it could be worse, but could be better. When we went at midnight, they were playing club music and hip-hop, which wasn't very welcoming. I'm assuming that's only for the late night crowd, so I can't be too upset about it! read more

We were wrong I ordered a greek chicken club to my surprise I couldn't find the so called grilled chicken I did have a lot of greens in there though. When the waitress came by to ask how was everythng, everything was except the chicken I asked her I did order a greek chicken sub right so where's the chicken she pointed to my club sandwich and said its there I'm like where? after combing through the sandwich oh yeah i found it, like basically two small cut up strips (I didnt know there was a shortage in chicken why wasn't I notified) I felt like I was robbed of the chicken. Service was attentive and quick. Food was palatable but truly reminded me of institutional, high school style food. Dry burger on a dry bun with mediocre, barely cooked fries. The waiter was friendly and maybe thought he could be a little overly playful with us. He told us the card we used to pay was declined and let it go on for several minutes before telling us he was joking. Not a successful way to flirt. Stopped here for the first time tonight. We were on a long road trip and I picked Elmer's because it got good reviews and was easy on and off route 84. My husband, mom and I couldn't have been happier with our choice! Everything was delicious, the service was warm and important for us, quick. We got a tasty complimentary macaroni salad as soon as we sat down. I typically do not like that sort of thing, but it was very lightly dressed and very tasty. We all had the same thing, so I can only say the chicken and eggplant Parmesan was delicious! We ended up taking most of it home after enjoying delicious Manhattan clam chowder (chicken rice soup for one of us), warm wonderfully fresh bread and whipped butter and salad; and wanting to save room for desert! they do not respect Covid 19 restrictions, they have people wait pay the door as people are coming in or out. As we were seated the waitress did not clean the table we had to ask, it was notably dirty with crumbs and coffee staines on the table. after she cleaned the table it took her 15 mins to ask us what to drink, as we ordered our food, the waitress did not speak English and took over 46 mins to bring out our order. The only reason we stay was because we were hungry and had waited as long as we did. When we finally got the bill, they charged us for the water that we got (tap) and also self tipped 20% on or order. We were a party of 4. when I disputed the tip, the man at the door did not speak english and said pay pay pay. will not be returning there. I'm local and wanted to try something new. This place is horrible the service is the worst I've seen in a diner. I asked for 4 eggs and they gave me 3. I also got chocolate chip pancakes and found a hair in them it couldn't have been mine because I'm bald. I told the manager and he seemed to be unfazed like this sort of thing happens all the time. We have a house on Candlewood Lake in New Fairfield and come me up to the lake every weekend. We have been stopping for dinner on Saturday nights since Elmers has opened. 10 plus years. The food is consistently good, hot and varied. The staff is friendly, courteous and grateful for your business. The portion size is way more than I can usually eat in one sitting. The prices are more than fair and we NEVER leave hungry. The facility is clean and spacious.Highly recommend this diner read more

Food price/quality ratio 7. Atmosphere is nice diner. I've eaten here several times. I've stopped going because there is no consistency. About one out of three times they completely mess up the food. I ordered through grub hub, I have never been there before. The food was awesome! I ordered a tuna melt and gravy cheese fries and both were delicious. My order was complete including the side of ranch and ketchup I asked for and it got to my house fast and hot and delicious. Thank you! I will be ordering from here again and btw the menu is huge! They literally have anything you could be craving. We Just stopped in on our way back from the lake for a light dinner. The food was acceptable, fast and the service was attentive. The one star was because we couldn't give less. We watched the bus girl take the waters from clearing a table and dump them back into the pitcher. She then serve the water to the next table. I have been to many diners but I have never been to one that attempted to make me stand and wait for 10 minutes only because the rest of my party hadn't arrived yet and rushed my party out the door. I had to make the owner sit me because I felt he was rude to me, there was booths available.
