I was a fan until today. Unfortunately, Google indicates that there is curb side pickup. Uber Eats did not have anything available and neither did Door Dash. We used to go the Elmer's in Pocatello, so we thought we would try it while visiting Boise. It's good but nothing special. Partner had blueberry pancakes. Good, but not amazing. Thick-cut bacon was amazing. I had a Denver omelette with Tillamook cheese. Very cheesy, but low veggie & meat density. A little bland; salt and pepper helped. The biscuit was fluffy, but whipped butter was cold and hard, so the biscuit suffered some internal injuries. Jelly packets were special request only; they don't have the racks at each table. They don't have Coke Zero. Waitress was efficient and polite, but not really friendly. Probably won't go back - not because it was bad, but there are better alternatives. read more

New in town... and didn't know where to go. This place hits the ! What a fantastic place! The food was absolutely amazing as was the service. You've got to try the German pancake. It's a unique crepe with lemon, powdered sugar and butter. (You can get it with fruit, but trust me, not necessary!) Ask for Rosemary! She is one of the best waitresses I've ever had the privilege to encounter. They were on point with face masks, cleaning menu's and over all COVID-19 protection if you are fearful of that. Inside out: this place is pretty easy to get to and there is an ample amount of parking. They do require masks and do a decent job of social distancing. The inside has nice decor, for a grandma's house kind of feel. Food: Im not really a coffee snob and I don't know if it was just that day but the coffee was not great. The rest of my family said it was alright but I must've gotten the burnt bottom of the pot. Family didn't comment on the food either way and they tend to on breakfast. I was just looking for something little but did not find anything that appealed to me. I can't blame them for not having bagels as I imagine that they don't keep. Best service!! And delicious food! We ordered the German pancake and the Country Fried Steak and Eggs. Both were so yummy and we were stuffed! There was also a cute little fireplace we were seated near! The REAL reason I'm going out of my way to leave a review was what I saw happen while I was there. Our server, Jordie, was an absolute angel to everyone! There was a shaky, older gentleman sitting alone at a table near us and she was very attentive to him (noticing he needed help squeezing the ketchup bottle, helping him wipe he glasses and nose off when he got some food on them, etc.). Another server also noticed that he wasn't drinking his water and brought a cup with a bendy straw in it so he wouldn't have to lift it off the table and to his mouth. Elmer's is what Shoney's Big Boy wants to be when he grows up. It was recommended to me, as a visitor to Boise, Idaho, as THE breakfast place (open 6:30AM to 2:30 PM) to eat at. I was not disappointed, as my steak and eggs, plus buttermilk biscuit and Northwest Hash Browns were very, very good. The loaded hash browns alone were enough to put you into a happy food coma, plus the orange juice was excellent. Additionally, Adele my waitress was very attentive and polite, even while working multiple tables. Definitely worth a visit if you are ever in Boise. read more

This review is based on the visit, food, and not because they didnt have To Go or Doordash, Uber Eats, etc. But definitely a place to go for breakfast and definitely in my opinion, better than IHOP. Man, I wish they would have this establishment in Vegas. One word...GERMAN PANCAKE!!! When you try this, you may automatically think "hmmm, this is like a giant crepe, I get it. While some may believe that, I think it's more to it than just a flat cooked batter with melted butter and lemon to "zest" on top of it. I ate this with 2 over easy eggs and their traditional sausages faster than I wanted to. But it still didnt make me feel full and bloated like how 4 pancakes would do. And I am absolutely fine with that. Haha. The important thing is that I left there happy and not to the point where I couldn't walk. When visiting Boise, be sure to stop by here for breakfast. Elmer's has been a go-to breakfast spot for me for the last 7 or so years. I went to BSU, and with it being so close to campus, went fairly often. I was reminded this past weekend with how good Elmer's truly is when a group of us went around 9:30 am. I got the German pancake (we call them "Dutch Babies" in my House). Gosh it was so good!! I came here bright and early on a weekday and had the place to myself for awhile. I was very pleased with the entire experience. The atmosphere inside is great- makes you feel right at home. And the food is fantastic as well. My omelet was perfectly cooked, and the smoked bacon, salsa, avocado, and cheese melded together perfectly! We've been going to Elmer's for a long time but won't be returning after our last visit. Our breakfast came out too quickly, which seemed odd. The hashbrowns were not cooked properly, and the sausage links were cold, raw in the middle and tasted bad. My spouse's omelet had undercooked bacon in it and was missing cheese. Her hashbrowns were worse than mine. Eating undercooked food isn't good, so we barely touched our meals. When we didn't want our leftovers, the server just took our plates, gave us our bill (40 bucks!), and didn't seem to care much. It's sad to see a place we liked go downhill. We hope Elmer's can get back to how good it used to be. read more

Oh man. I can't say enough good things about Elmer's. We were in town from DC looking for breakfast and Yelp helped me find it. The first time we went was so good, we went again the next day with my brother (also in town to see family). The service was fantastic both times - so warm and friendly, genuine hospitality. We have always loved Elmers. Last two times have been terrible. Cold food (butter doesn't melt on a waffle hmmmmm cold and rubbery German pancake two pieces quite raw bacon one piece burnt to a crisp. Waitress comes after enough time we have decided to leave she asks if we want boxes. we let her know food is cold and rubbery she tells us she will just charge for coffee. Manager comes over and hands us a bill for half the breakfast total. And says if that not enough he can give us a coupon for our next visit!! Whaaat??!! Next visit???!! Nope I guess end of an ERA!!
