Second, these guys do comfort food like no other. We split turkey and gravy mashed potatoes w/veggie. It was spectacular! And on Debbie's recommendation we had the seasonal strawberry salad - with the perfect crunchy greens, ripe strawberries, blue cheese crumbles... absolutely incredible! I fly into Eugene a couple times a year and Elmer's is one of my favorite restaurants. Its fabulous for breakfast, lunch and dinner and close to the airport. Today I ordered shrimp and chips with a salad. The waitress was friendly and exceptional. The food arrived very quickly aromatic and hot. Everything was fabulous!! The amount we waited to even be seated was ridiculous. We waited nearly an hour to be seated while everyone around us was being seated before us while getting there after. I understand if they had reservations but that wait was unbelievable. Once we were seated nobody came to attend us for another 20 minutes to even ask for drinks while others who were seated after us were being attended. So sick of coming here on Sunday every week to an old hag of a bartender. She's always rude always put out & today I was told we can't sit in the bar booths unless we're called for a seat. We always grab the same table every week no problem. She has an issue with us apparently & it's bad business the two old gags you have in the bar helping people are ridiculous and rude. What a clown show you've got running the bar. Myself & family won't be returning & neither will the rest of the people we bring here. My family and I have enjoyed Elmer's for years. We love Damon and Patty especially, they treat us like their own family, and they are always glad to see us. The atmosphere is very comfortable and peaceful, we love to hang out. And it's so friendly and refreshing to see people who are so professional, but also allowed to be themselves. When we showed up the restaurant was packed but we got a table right away and the waiters were super kind and we got our food fast! There was a trainee today named David and he was doing a fantastic job. I believe Damon was the waiter training and he did great at that as well. Went in for dinner. The waiter said they were going to close soon, but we would have time to eat. Got my order wrong, took it back, and fixed it. Food seamed okay. Headed home, which was only 10 minutes, and we both had to run to the bathroom. Both of us were in and out of the bathroom all night. Horrible stomach pains. We are both still sick today. Waited for so long on a Saturday morning to be seated with several booths and tables open. Zero staff were wearing masks even though the state restrictions don't lift until later this month. Our server was very frantic and unprofessional. Chicken fried steak arrived with long hair fried into the breading hanging over side of the plate. Told the server and she asked me to prove it. Stated we were just going to leave and didn't need a replacement order. Waited at front in obvious location to speak with manager (Mr. Rice) for over 30min and was not acknowledge even though he walked by several times making eye contact. Eventually spoke to barkeep as a last resort to get assistance. We get it....its a weekend morning and you're busy. This is a wonderful restaurant that is fully deserving of solid five star reviews. The food is delicious, well-prepared and reasonably priced. The service is great, and the decor of this particular Elmer's is classy and comfortable, with high ceilings and dark stained wood beams. Breakfast is served all day long, and they also have nice lunch and dinner selections. For reliably excellent food and service, you just can't beat them. We arrived around brunch time just a few days after opening. I anticipated a lot of organizational issues, as typically occurs for a short time after opening, but there were no hitches in service that I noticed. We were seated immediately and served in a timely manner. Ambience is family casual, expected volume for that kind of environment, nothing overwhelming. Kids ordered Mt waffles and kids sliders, respectively. Kids were both happy with their selections (although they may be outgrowing the kids' menus for portion size, at nine years old). My son dislikes melted cheese and he was pleasantly surprised that they remembered to leave it off of his sliders, since many places forget and put it on in spite of the request to hold it. I was a little reluctant to order crab Benedict (family restaurant + fresh crab = ???), but it sounded good and I had no regrets. English muffin and bacon were both nicely crispy, eggs poached perfectly, and hollandaise also a pleasant surprise. Service remained attentive without being intrusive and the bill was very reasonable. We'll be back to try out more options (and apparently larger portions for growing kiddos)! read more

Stopped in for breakfast this past week since Prime Time wasn't Open yet on Saturday. Had quite a wait for service as the staff was badly overworked and under-staffed. Ordered Eggs Benedict as it was good there several years ago. Long wait and eggs barely warm and overdone, sauce cool, ham chewy and English Muffin was cold and moist.
