Great Sunday Brunch place. The service was great and friendly. The food was very good and tasted fresh. Highly recommend if you are close to the school that shall not be named

Elmo's is the diner you have been looking for. We stopped by on a Saturday morning for breakfast. We were lucky, because a line formed after we were seated, so get here early. Our server, Megan, made sure we had hot coffee and tea in a flash. She also checked back several times to keep our cups topped off and hot. She was wonderful. I had the Greek omelet, with spinach, feta, kalamata olives and tomatoes. I also had a side of home fries, grits and a beautiful biscuit. My wife selected the farmers omelet and my daughter had the gorgeous biscuits with gravy. Everything was served hot and fresh. In fact, I have to say that this is one of the best diner breakfasts we have ever had. I hope to return to Durham, because this will be on the top of my list. Well done Elmo's. You have set the diner bar very high. Your food and service is top notch and made our visit to Durham that much better!

My child's school had a "Mursday" fundraising opportunity so we went for breakfast. Such large portions at such great prices! Service was quick on a Thursday morning. Our server was friendly and attentive. I had the California omelette which was good but I think next time I'd add some cheese in it. My omelette also came with home fries and toast - I was stuffed by the time we left!

We intended to go elsewhere for lunch, but that place was closed for vacation, so we hit up Elmo's. We hit it at the right time and got parking and a table immediately!! Our waitress came over promptly for the drink orders. I got the chicken burrito and my spouse an omelet with taters and a massive biscuit. Everything tasted great and we both had a ton of leftovers. Yes, I'll always miss Ninth Street Bakery in this spot and their menu and wish Elmo's hadn't redesigned the main dining area when they moved in, but what can you do. Time changes almost everything.

I'm pleased by Elmo's Diner but not pleased enough to go here very often. The portions are not big and the menu is not very interesting.

Everyone I've spoken to loves this place. They say it's the best breakfast spot around. We couldn't wait to try them. Parking is horrible but it's free. We parked on the street and walked. Once inside it was packed. It's cozy and charming inside. They have a lot of options. We had pancakes, sausage, grits and a breakfast bowl. The bowl had a lot going on. Cheese, sausage, eggs, beans, avocado and more. It was okay. My grits were thin and the pancakes were okay. Overall everything was just okay nothing amazing.

A great diner with a bit of a wait time on the weekends but fully worth it. They have so many great options and it's truly such reliably good food. The staff was very nice and they have cute coloring pages too!

This was an interesting place! People were lined out the door, but folks were in and out! We were several guests down on the list and were sat within ten minutes. We had our order taken quickly and were treated well the whole time. My home fries were accidentally left off (missing in photo) but the server quickly got an order from the kitchen and brought them to me piping hot. We loved the eggs, bacon, home fries, and waffle. The biscuit was a bit different. It was sliced in half and had been grilled I think. Would definitely eat here again if in Durham again!

It was 94* outside and the Pineapple Express mocktail was just the ticket to cool off! 10/10. Loved the details of the frosty glasses, the china, and the silverware. Every dish was an explosion of color and plated to perfection. Peach leche de Tigre Ceviche- 9/10. A ton going on taste-wise. Only knock was that I wish the plantain chips were a bit bigger/thicker to eat it with Octopus- 8/10. We loved it but the purple potatoes were a tad salty and we were sad that there was only 1 tentacle instead of 2 so we could each taste ones Shorty pan- 6.5/10 as an Argentinian, bit of a miss for me. The service was kind and helpful and the vibe of the place, especially upstairs was perfect. Good music taste, good views. The ceviche was perfectly colorful and tasty with a nice variety of fish and veggies. Keep up with killer dishes was the duck chilaquiles! The tortillas were perfectly cooked in the salsa and topped with some tasty crispy duck. The only knock from my friend is wishing the meat was a little softer but we are also used to Peking duck. The birriamen was so-so, the goat was missing something in flavor and really needed the sauce. The sauce on the birria was less flavorful that what I make at home and not as good as strictly Japanese ramen. The noodles felt like what you get from an Asian grocery store. The horchata was good but very coconut forward instead of cinnamon. I will be coming back for their dinner and brunch menus!

The restaurant itself is cozy with warm accents, brick walls, and wood paneling. I feel like I'm visiting a good friends home whenever I visit here. As for the menu, and I say this without exaggeration, the carrot cavatelli is one of the best dishes I have ever eaten in my life. I seriously dream about that carrot cavatelli. Here's some of my other favorites: Smoked Hamachi Puree- the toaste brioche goes perfectly with this pate-like fish dish, so insanely delicious Caramelized Onion Tart- the robiola foam is a dream and pairs perfectly with the apple Carrot Cavatelli- I would literally write the chef personally if this item was ever removed from the menu. Trust me, just order this for the table. King Trumpet- there's not much better than a grilled trumpet mushroom Seared Scallops- such a fantastic dish that comes with creamed greens and little pasta to accompany it Braised Beef Short Rib- meaty and delicious, exactly as you would expect Chocolate Mousse- a delicious, decadent dessert that's the perfect way to end a meal All in all, you can't have a bad meal at Littler.
