Chicken Wontons with Spicy Sauce on the side
    Aubrey H.

My hubby and I had been wanting to try eLoong Dumplings for a while. Unfortunately, the food left something to be desired. We ordered warm edamame and egg drop soup to start. Then had noodles with chicken, chicken wontons with spicy sauce, pork buns and shrimp shumai. The egg drop soup was delicious and just like I remembered. The sauce on the edamame had a little too much vinegar or something that made our lips pucker. The chicken wontons were decent. However, the pork buns and shrimp shumai totally fell off the mark. The taste of the shrimp shumai was not good and a tad too fishy (I know it's shrimp but this was too much). Overall, staff were friendly and service was good. Food was disappointing.

Highly suggest trying this place. Husband and I like dumplings and have a few spots we frequent in Orange County but living in Camarillo, its a far drive. Stumbled upon this place and so happy we did. Everything we tried today, we'd reorder. Pork soup dumplings Pork buns Minced pork noodles Sides- Cabbage, green beans, cucumbers Hot and sour soup All excellent and food came out relatively fast. Nice service and casual atmosphere. We will be back!

Omg--if you love Din Tai Fung, you're going to fall in love with the local gem eLoong Dumplings in Westlake! I can't believe I hadn't tried this place sooner--10/10 across the board. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with such a warm welcome and attentive service, paired with a calm, inviting ambiance. (They're located in the TJ Maxx shopping center.) We ordered the egg drop soup, Xiao Long Bao pork dumplings, cucumbers, and minced pork noodles--and wow, everything was incredibly rich and flavorful. Portions were generous too; we even had leftovers to take home. Such a cute spot for lunch or date night, and it truly gives you that comforting, home-cooked meal vibe. A total hidden gem!

A classic take on Xiao Long Bao! I've been coming here for the last decade. It is one of my favorite places to get Xiao Long Bao. I also had tried many other items on their menu, such as the Spicy Chicken wontons and their sautéed greens. It's probably one of the most consistent high quality food and high quality service, as a costumer whose comeback many times. I've suggested it to other friends and they have also loved it, it's always been a hit. The Xiao Long Bao (Pork Soup Dumplings) is what I get everytime and recommend to anyone for when they come. The ambience and decoration has always been nice, neat, and simplistic. If you live nearby or just spending your day in Thousand Oaks, this is a great stop by lunch or dinner.

The food was good, but a little bland. I am a bit spoiled by Din Tai Fung outings, but nonetheless, my spicy shrimp and pork wonton dish could have used more flavor and more sauce. I did enjoy the cucumber salad and the hot and sour soup. My kids' chicken fried rice was okay, but once again it tasted like it needed an additional ingredient or two. For desert, we had delicious mochi ice cream and I tried their Hawthorn Berry Tanghulu, which is essentially frozen cherries, somewhat candied in a sugar coating and served on a stick. Pretty good, unique taste and texture and it looked esthetically beautiful. The place had good energy and modern, asian-inspired design. The service was friendly and excellent. The staff worked fast to accommodate me and my family.

A great alternative to din tai fung in the area. The dumplings are tasty, broccoli is flavorful, and shrimp fried rice is exceptional. All of the servers we interacted with are friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for some good dumplings and Chinese food in Westlake.

I love this place, I've been coming here on and off for the last four years and the service is always very homestyle and the food is great and you get a lot for what you pay for. Today I tried their new chocolate filled dumplings, similar to Din Tai Fung and they tasted absolutely amazing.

Solid dumpling place near TO (which has some good Chinese restaurants but not a lot of dumplings places that I've found). There plenty of parking outside which is a plus. Simple interior with friendly service. We got three varietals of dumplings and all were good (pork, chicken, and veggie). The bao dough was soft and fluffy. Would be interested in trying some of their other nonsmoking dishes.

Everything tasted so good. I think their cucumber salad tastes better than the one at Din tai fung. The service was great and the food came out pretty fast. Would definitely come back again.

Braised Beef Shank in Szechuan Noodle Soup

Came here around noon on a Friday for lunch with a small group, total 4 of us. The decent sized parking lot was pretty packed but there were definitely spots open. The restaurant wasn't busy at all and we were sat immediately and provided a paper menu to order from. 2 friends in the group say dinner is much busier, so plan accordingly! The service throughout was quick, attentive, and friendly. The inside was bright and modern and there is a one stall bathroom. My boyfriend and I decided to get the braised beef shank in Szechuan noodle soup, noodles with minced pork in soy bean sauce, pork soup dumplings, and salted egg custard buns while the other couple got chicken fried rice, noodles in sesame sauce, and the same dumplings and buns. The food was ready quickly. First was the fried rice and noodle soup. The noodle soup was flavorful, with decent portions of everything. There were plenty of noodles, slices of thin beef, and a good amount of bok choy. The noodles with minced pork also was flavorful and had good textures going on. The soup dumplings were just okay to me. Not as umami as I am used to. I personally believe more flavorful ones are served at Yunnan restaurant in Oak Park. The salted egg buns were a good size and had a lot of filling. They weren't super creamy but still had good flavor. Overall, a decent Chinese spot in a place without many Chinese restaurants. If you are not as familiar with Chinese food, this is a good place to start. It's also a convenient location for lunch time and I think it's a good spot to take coworkers. If you like stronger authentic flavors, I would suggest Yunnan.

Tasty find nearby my work office perfect for a Chinese craving on lunch break. My friends and I came in for a meal around 12pm and luckily had been sat immediately as they were maybe at about half capacity. Their menu features 2 parts, a small dim sum selection where you get to write in how many orders you want of the smaller bites ( dumplings, buns, etc ) and their plastic menu has images for their larger entrees. We had ordered family style with a combination of dim sum, noodles, and rice. Our selections made Their way to our table in waves starting with the spicy beef noodle soup and fried rice. The soup had good spicy/umami broth and plenty of noodles and bok choy. Their beef was tender and overall a fair portion. From everything we ordered I think the soup packed the strongest punch (flavor wise) followed by their sesame noodles. The portions were good but i think were weaker flavors than what i was expecting. Sadly this was the same experience with their pork soup dumplings. They had good chewy texture and good amount of pork filling but very little soup broth :( the flavor was good but nothing crazy. All things considered i think this restaurant is perfect for people dipping their toe in Chinese cuisine. The traditional flavors were subtly there and featured good ingredients. The staff was wonderful from top to bottom. Considering the area this restaurant is on the better side of the spectrum for Chinese cuisine in my opinion. The modern decor and furniture it's bright and appealing especially with the large windows that allow sun to brighten up their seating area. I'm happy i tried this restaurant it was pretty good overall and great for the community it generally serves.

Their vegan options might be the best choice. Their dumplings were pretty good. They close in middle of the day after lunch. Parking is not an issue. Service was good. It's a quick lunch restaurant

100% will come back here! Food is delicious and tastes fresh. Every time felt healthy yet tasty. They have a sign that states food is made fresh and without msg and has veggie options. We loved the pork soup dumplings, wonton soup and the fried rice! Service was attentive despite a busy day. There was a mistake in the rice we ordered but they fixed it with no issue. Place is a small restaurant and was busy on a Sunday. It has a family, casual feel! For parents, there is no baby changing table which I hope can be placed in the future!

Was surprised to find such an authentic spot for Chinese in Oak Park!…read more I came by for a Mother's Day lunch with my family. When we arrived around 1 pm, the restaurant was maybe half full. But clearly it was popular as people were coming in constantly the entire time we were eating. Even though the restaurant is called Yunnan Restaurant, most of the dishes on the menu were more like Sichuan dishes i.e. spicy. All of the food was super solid and portions were ginormous. My recommendation is to order 1 dish per person if you want leftovers, or order one less dish than the # of people if you want to finish most of the food. I don't handle spice very well, so we ordered a mix of spicy and non-spicy dishes. We shared the following: #1 Yunan rice noodles ($16.99) #32 scallion pancake ($8.99) #104 Chong qing fried chicken ($16.99) #107 braised pork belly with buns ($19.99) #109 boiled two items - fish and duck blood ($21.99) Given that the restaurant is called Yunnan Restaurant, we felt like we had to order one of the most popular dishes from that region, the Yunan rice noodles i.e. crossing the bridge noodles. I really enjoyed the silky smooth mixian noodles as well as the flavorful broth. The fried chicken was too spicy for me; I ate one piece and my whole mouth was on fire. Everyone else said it was quite spicy as well, so eat this in moderation unless you can really handle your spice. The 3 pepper signs next to this dish on the menu are no joke! The braised pork belly was delicious, but portions were on the smaller side for this one. Still, I enjoyed making a little bun sandwich with the pork belly and pickled veggies. The boiled fish and duck blood was also super solid. It was just a little spicy, so I was able to manage a couple pieces with the help of rice on the side. Portions were very generous for this dish. We all ate lots of fish and duck blood and still had a ton left to take home. They also have some precooked 涼菜, i.e. cold dishes, on the side you can buy for dine-in or to go. We got 3 of the meats - pork tongue, pork head, and and beef tripe, to go. Paid $16.99 for a huge box of these meats. We thought this was a steal too. Can't wait to try some at home!
