First time at Embers, we went with our son and DIL, who had been there once before. The setting is fabulous, and the restaurant is comfortable and inviting. Be aware, Embers is busy on a Friday night, so you may have to wait for a few minutes. Spend that time watching the pizza masters cook their fabulous pies. They are very willing to talk to you as they go about their craft, and they are rightly proud of the wood-fired pies they make. Wifey and I started by sharing an Embers Summer Salad, with spinach, almonds, and gorgonzola. The salad was first rate. We ordered the "Notorious P.I.G." pizza, and it was fantastic. This was a cool place we would have never found without the internet. It's off the main road a bit but worth the adventure. Pizza was really good, even the burnt/crispy ends. If you like a bacon mac but wish other places had more bacon, this is the place for you. Everyone working there looks really young but all did a great job and were talkative. Friday date night at Embers by the Lake...it was SO good! Hubby got the Father Guido (sweet peppers, sausage, basil and red sauce) and I had the Dilly Dilly (garlic Alfredo sauce, dill and pickles). PIZZA ISN'T SUPPOSED TO BE BLACK. Go to the Post Falls one where the oven temps are correct. This location routinely serves burnt pizza (you wouldn't believe the deep dish one - BLACK) and has convinced themselves , and many of their patrons, that this is ok. Same menu in Post Falls and there not even a hint of burnt crust - which is as it should be. Sad because the atmosphere in Hauser is way cool! read more

Embers is amazing. We live local, so it is an extra treat to have a quality restaurant so close to home. The pizzas are unique and delicious. The gluten free is incredible. This one was a tough review. As much as I would have loved to give it a 5 star the pizza pushed it down to 4, however if I were to base the review strictly on the pizza it would have been a 3. The meatball appetizer was a 5 all the way so I had high expectations for the ZA. I loved the baked cheese on the meatballs and the sauce was one of the best I have ever tasted. The pizza came out looking like a 6 and I was so excited to take my first bite. Ugh was my thought when I took that bite as there seemed to be no taste in the crust. I had to add salt which is something I never ever do. The cheese on the pizza was very good but the crust killed it for me. Maybe it was some bad dough so I might give this place another visit. Such a wonderful family friendly place. The huge porch and outdoor eating area open to a large lawn and creek with games and toys for your little ones to keep occupied. There was the largest game of freeze tag going on with about 20 kids running and laughing, all playing together. We were the bummer when we pulled our kids away to eat dinner: wonderful brick oven style pizzas, perfectly executed. After a brief break the kids were back to playing and us adults enjoyed our beers. We finally regrouped to toast some s'mores on the fire, with a Reese's peanut butter cup instead of a Hershey bar. I never write reviews but our dinner was so enjoyable that I had to this time! We ventured out to Embers By The Lake, right off of Hauser Lake for pizza. Even though we were there on a Thursday night in January the place was hoppin'(although we were seated right away). We decided to sit on the patio as it looked so cozy. The multiple heaters were blazing and they also had cute blankets on all the chairs. The pizza was SO GOOD so we will definitely be back. What really struck us though was just how friendly everyone was. The owner even came out to chat and deliver our pizzas- you could tell they are happy to have you there. This is a rare thing these days. We walked out with smiles on our faces and can't wait to come back to Embers during spring, summer, and fall! read more

First time going, on a Saturday evening, on my birthday, and I like this place... (You guessed right) BUT... 1) No reservations 2) 45min - 1hr wait 3) long cook time; waited too long for food 4) garlic knots smell like they use goat or sheep cheese; nasty smell that carries. 5) LOUD indoors; people with and without hearing aids can't hear each other unless we're yelling 6) big family can rack up a big bill; $20 pizzas. 7) horrid parking, even more horrid people don't know how to be courteous to other cars parking. Can trap vehicles and they think it's okay. 8) awful wait for bathroom. Fam couldn't go cuz line too long and one can't stand for very long. 9) not handicap friendly. HOWEVER... 1) spacious outdoor waiting area; fires to sit by, a stream and green hill to play on, games to play--board and lawn. 2) friendly staff; young and fit enough to carry on a busy weekend, w/ enough energy to withstand large groups, noisy interior, and lots of to-go boxes 3) good food; many choices, super kid-friendly menu. 4) again, super kid-friendly. Places to play while waiting on food, various choices of food for kids, more than most restaurants. 5) free ice cream if it's your birthday and staff sings to you. I do recommend the place but not when it's busy and full of Subaru drivers. One of our favorites. Embers has fantastic oven fired pizza. They have many selections of pizza and are always willing to customize it how you want it. Their appetizers and salads are great, as well! During the summer, there is seating outside and cornhole to play while you wait. The kiddos can roast marshmallows for s'mores. Great place for a date night or for the entire family. First visit to Embers and we were wowed. My wife and I did a half and half pizza. I had a special called Keep Clam and Carry On and my wife had the Grand Islander. We both loved our choices! My family and I stopped here on a road trip 4 years ago, and I recently was passing through Spokane on another road trip a few weeks ago and had to take the detour to get the pizza again. The food is amazing and the atmosphere and view of the lake is great. We arrived 10 minutes before it opened and people were already walking in and by the time it was the actual opening time most of the patio tables were full. You can tell it's a local favorite.
