Everything was delicious! Service was great. Nice hideaway restaurant in the woods :)

We ate here last night but it was a let down especially for $99 per person 3 course meal. The staff was very nice so no complaint there but the service was super slow. It took about 35 minutes to get every dish and the portions were extremely small. We were served 1 small ravioli. The steak was good and so were the drinks but the portions were so small. I laughed when I saw the baby carrots and the 3 hallowed out fries filled with air.

We were fortunate to be able to have a wonderful dinner at Embers restaurant at Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite. The prefix menu was a delight of flavors and the wine pairing made for an even more enjoyable time. Our soumila helped us to understand the pairings and what to expect from the selection of wines that we were having. We were greeted from the beginning by the team. We were able to meet the chefs and talk with them about the food. Remember to ask if they have the pinecone (its great after the meal as a mint) Thank you to the entire team for such a great memory, and a beautiful setting.

Great table in front of the fireplace. They have a reasonable corkage fee and also a wonderful selection of local wines as well.

Embers is an oasis! You pass through the glass door and enter a quiet, dignified restaurant. Embers might be located in the Tenaya Lodge but inside you feel like you're miles away. I recommend making reservations since it seems to be popular. We were seated promptly and had a wonderful table for two in front of the fireplace. They feature many local wines and we opted for a red from Idle Hour that was spectacular. We also brought our own bottle to enjoy with dinner - they have a very reasonable corkage fee. Our server, Gordon, guided our choices wonderfully. We both started with the Lobster Bisque. It's made with a puff pastry cooked over the top of the bowl, which gives it a dramatic presentation. The pastry is sprinkled with crispy garlic from another layer of flavor. It was some of the best lobster bisque I've ever had and the hubs said it was the best he's ever had. We moved onto the Filet Oscar for our main courses. Delicious! Hands down some of the best flavors ever - filet mignon perfectly seasoned and cooked, a tender artichoke bottom, fluffy crab - all topped with a delicate Bearnaise sauce. WOW. Yes, we were quite full when we finished, but after that wonderful meal we couldn't help but wonder, "What would Gordon have for dessert?" LOL Well, Gordon didn't disappoint. He suggested a Myer Lemon Creme Brulee with freshly made whipped cream and fresh berries. It was a flavorful explosion in my mouth! Gordon was the perfect server and balanced attentiveness and privacy. We enjoyed a quiet meal that was incredibly delicious. The tables are situated so you feel private from everyone else. And, to top off a great evening, they played a great selection of Christmas songs.

Amazing service! I got the filet mignon and it was in a reduction sauce of wine, but I asked if I could have the dish with another sauce because I had a sulfite allergy. But the server Camille really went above and beyond. She brought me two alternate sauces. She wanted to accommodate my allergy to the maximum and for me to have the best experience possible. I only really get sauces Incase the steak is a bit dry but this wasn't an issue here as it was very good. But I really appreciate the gesture and length Camille went to as steak is my favorite food but no server has ever gone the extra mile with not just one sauce but two!

I enjoyed the only soup ( they have it for $11) it was fresh and steaming hot. Perfect for chilly evening. definitely worth trying. They have lot of options for all. Both indoor and outdoor seating seemed good option. But for summer early dinner outdoor is nice. They have a huge round firepit and it was nice to dine around it. Sadly we came in between the lunch and dinner shift so despite and empty restaurant they wouldn't serve us in the nicer room. Our server was very kind! Ordered a kids burger, a kids pizza, the lettuce wraps, Caesar salad and BLT. Kids pizza came out wrong. Lettuce wraps were chunky pieces of chicken instead of the ground Asian version we imagined. Sauce was not good, no mint despite what the menu described. Sent back. The BLT was awful. On very dry over toasted ciabatta bread with avocado that went bad (my son looooves BLTs and avocado and truly this was not a good version). Caesar salad was great but very small portions for $17!!! Loved the homemade dressing however the Parmesan chip was stale and soft instead of crispy. The kids burger my daughter ordered was edible, but again, absolutely not worth the price. Veggies served with it were very sad.

We decided to try Oakhurst Grill because it was one of the only places still open when we rolled into town. (Places close early here) Service- 2.5/5: Both times I've been here the waitresses have been polite and somewhat attentive. We were seated within 20 mins but had another 15min wait to actually place our order. It seemed like it took awhile to just get started with drinks. They do a high volume here with a large staff so the service is likely inconsistent. Food quality: 3/5 My burger was actually very good, with 1/2lb of quality beef. I would get it again. I've had the chicken Alfredo which was ok, but nothing extraordinary. Steak tips for an appetizer were ok and the crab cakes were flavorful. My vegan friend had the Al Fresco (Tomato, artichoke heart, Mediterranean olive blend, garlic, onion, spinach and mushrooms, balsamic vinegar, served over penne pasta with a side of ciabatta bread.) He barely touched it because it just didn't taste good. Everyone at the table tried it and agreed we wouldn't recommend it. The cheesecake "bites" for dessert is more like a slice of previously frozen cheesecake cut into 2 pieces, with a drizzle of syrup on top. Atmosphere- 4/5: The interior is dated but had a rustic vibe that fits the environment. The outdoor seating has a nice view but the exterior is rather narrow for the size of the tables. Value- 3/5: Pricing is higher but what I would expect near a national park. The potions were generous. Overall- 3/5: I would eat here again if I was in the area but wouldn't go out of my way to. It is more geared toward tourists.

One thing that puzzled us a tiny bit was the "specials" appeared to be identical to menu options, but no harm, no foul. The service was very friendly, knowledgable and very well executed. It was accurate and reasonably quick. The food was outstanding. We started with very nice small dinner salads, and the garlic bread brought to the table was well done. We had Chicken Alfredo with Feta, and the Rib Eye Steak. Both were sensational (the chicken benefitted from a squeeze of lemon). The portions were large, and the preparation was perfect. The steak was exactly as ordered, and was the best steak we've had in some time. The chicken was cooked well and the pasta was perfect. The vegetables were great, seasoned and steamed, retaining a bit of crunch. Desert was an event! We had the cheesecake, which was very good, and the chocolate mocha ice cream pie. Oh, my goodness! That pie! It was at least 5" high, and covered a desert plate edge to edge, and it was a coffee and chocolate fantasy with a toffee crust! Out of this world! Simply epic. That is exactly what happened during my recent dinner at Elderberry House. I visited with a group of four, and between us, we had two gluten-free diners and one vegetarian. After a quick heads-up the day before, the restaurant handled our needs with total ease. We went for the five-course tasting menu, and it was incredible from start to finish. We kicked things off with one of the best oysters I have ever had, followed by a beautiful tuna presentation. The kitchen even looked out for our gluten-free friends with a special version of their herbal-butter focaccia that was actually delicious. By the time the main courses arrived, I honestly could not decide if I liked my beef or my friend's snap pea risotto better; every single bite was pure perfection. The cocktails were another high point. My first drink was great, but after chatting with our server, Jordan, I decided to try the Last Word. It featured that hard-to-find green chartreuse, and I am a little annoyed to report that I have a new favorite cocktail that requires such a rare ingredient. The service is what really made the night so special. Jordan was so charismatic and helpful, making sure we were perfectly taken care of all evening. He was so good that I almost worried a second visit would not be the same without him, though the rest of the staff quickly put that fear to rest. Abby was so friendly and responsible for a truly unique but perfect-for-the-vibe playlist, and Chris the mixologist even stopped by to geek out about gin and cocktails with us. We had a pretty large party and with a small menu we almost covered it all. The best things on the menu were the empanadas even though they didn't make sense on paper and the rest was disappointing. Being as how we were the table sending things back I will have to say the service was 5 plus stars. You never know how anyone is going to take you being as how they have their own personal relationship with the food (and kinda have to like it since it's their job) so we were nice, paid for what they felt like they needed to charge us for and left. Upside? The facility is a nice piece of history up here. Had the food matched that it would've been a 5 start experience all the way around. Nice little river running thru the property and over the top maintained. We didn't see the insides of the rooms but if it matched the dining area this place was pretty phenomenal. Back one more time on the food, none of the fish dishes were worth it. Tiny sliver portions and super fishy tasting for it to be a busy Saturday. If you like fish and fishy flavor it's for you, but if you're a non fish tasting person who likes fish (I know my target fish audience gets that) skip it. It wasn't good. We also skipped dessert so can't comment on that. The other parts of the meal were just not that good. Also had a tequila cocktail I'm not sure why I ordered a second one of that kept me up from whatever the juice was they used in it. Wish I could remember which but at least it was strong enough for me to brave the second.

TASTING MENU: Amuse Bouche (watermelon gazpacho shooter): Refreshing way to awaken the palate. (5 of 5) Seared Sea Scallops (seared scallops, honey dijon aioli, citrus caviar beurre blanc): The crisp, caramelized crust of the scallops opens up to a luxurious naturally sweet and juicy interior. The scallops had depth of flavour, and the citrus shines through. It's buttery without any fishiness. The asparagus pieces were cooked through but still maintain its crunch. Everything works on this plate. (5 of 5) Chef Victor (sic) Pan Roasted Salmon (seared salmon preserved lemon beurre blanc, salmon chicharron, dill oil): The fish was beautifully seasoned and the sauce complemented the fish. What a perfect match - lemon beurre blanc and dill oil. The topper was bland but the sauce makes up for it. I could lick up the sauce - it's that good. (4.75 of 5) Chef Eli (sic) Filet Mignon (7 oz sliced filet mignon steak, carrot puree, oyster mushrooms, bordelaise sauce, crispy parsnip): A good filet mignon should melt-in-your-mouth because it comes from the softest, lean meat cut. My medium rare order was nearly there but the meat arrived cold. The carrot puree is vibrant in color - has a smooth, naturally sweet, earthy taste, and balanced perfectly with the meat. The mushrooms were over salted but was helped by the sweet smooth carrot puree. The cold meat brought an otherwise perfect score down. (4.5 of 5) Chef Jose (sic) White Chocolate Mousse (callebaut belgium white chocolate mousse filled with raspberry gel on top of a sacher torte sponge with fresh raspberries and chantilly cream): When I think of chocolate mousse, I think delicate, light, airy, cloud-like melt-in-your-mouth yumminess. This didn't have that. The dome was a hard shell. Though the presentation aced on this dessert, the texture and flavour did not quite live up to its name. (3.5 of 5) French Onion Soup: This is the ultimate comfort food. It offers a bold harmony of sweet, caramelized onions and rich, savoury beef broth, crowned with a thick layer of gooey, toasted cheese. Very satisfying. (5 of 5) SURF n TURF: Prime Rib 12 oz: The medium rare meat was beautiful to look at but not quite as brilliant to eat. Overall, this is a tasty dish but was quite chewy. They aced the sauce. (4.25 of 5) Oscar Style Crab: The Oscar-style crab béarnaise sauce combines the sweet, flaky texture of crabmeat with a warm, velvety French emulsion of butter, egg yolks, and herbs. It's luxurious, rich flavour is complex and decadent but balanced. Great harmony. So indulgent! (5 of 5) Our server, Steven is amiable but not in your face, which we truly appreciate. Steven radiates warmth and good-natured charm. (5 of 5) We were seated at a table but changed our seating to bar-side. They have an open-kitchen concept. From there, we could see who's cooking our meal and watch the seamless quiet communication and the care each chef takes in presenting the dishes. Sam, who worked on the salads was friendly and truly a genius in balancing the different textures and flavours together. (5 of 5) The complimentary bread came warm and tasted fresh. We were also presented with a complimentary dessert with the words "Happy Anniversary" written on the plate. (5 of 5) Mixed Drinks: Very good mix by bartender George. (5 of 5)

Courtney was the hostess and we really appreciate her accommodation. The steakhouse had an open kitchen and dining room was dimmed and very lovely We started with a raspberry lemon drop and a glass of red. For appetizers we ordered: Crab Cakes: 9/10 yummy but wished it was portioned for 2 French onion soup: 10/10, rich but not overwhelming. Delicious! Caesar Salad: 8/10, should have asked for dressing on the side For entrees: Tomahawk: 8.5/10 delicious and enjoyed the steak sauce Bone in ribeye: 9/10, solid, should just order 2 but the tomahawk was a must after a good night at the slots Sides: 10/10 garlic mash, good flavor not overwhelming 10/10 Onion Fries 8/10 risotto, good flavor and really enjoyable for non risotto eating people They ran out of the brussel sprouts Admittedly me and my boo tend to be over order-ers, but leftovers were great! Really good quality food especially tucked in a casino. The prices were fair but reasonable for where it was located. This was the best meal (aside from home cooked) that we had during our trip!
