    Carrot ginger soup

The atmosphere is very woodsy and more like a hunting lodge. What a great surprise the carrot ginger soup was! It was hands-down some of the best soup I've ever had. The wedge salad was delicious and fresh, the pot pie was a little on the small side, but freshly made. Cheesecake was awesome. The service was outstanding! Highly recommend.

An old school atmosphere with solid and tasty food offerings. Servers are friendly but wait times can be inconsistent. The berry cake was really good.

    Short and sweet.

We had a pretty large party and with a small menu we almost covered it all. The best things on the menu were the empanadas even though they didn't make sense on paper and the rest was disappointing. Being as how we were the table sending things back I will have to say the service was 5 plus stars. You never know how anyone is going to take you being as how they have their own personal relationship with the food (and kinda have to like it since it's their job) so we were nice, paid for what they felt like they needed to charge us for and left. Upside? The facility is a nice piece of history up here. Had the food matched that it would've been a 5 start experience all the way around. Nice little river running thru the property and over the top maintained. We didn't see the insides of the rooms but if it matched the dining area this place was pretty phenomenal. Back one more time on the food, none of the fish dishes were worth it. Tiny sliver portions and super fishy tasting for it to be a busy Saturday. If you like fish and fishy flavor it's for you, but if you're a non fish tasting person who likes fish (I know my target fish audience gets that) skip it. It wasn't good. We also skipped dessert so can't comment on that. The other parts of the meal were just not that good. Also had a tequila cocktail I'm not sure why I ordered a second one of that kept me up from whatever the juice was they used in it. Wish I could remember which but at least it was strong enough for me to brave the second.

Our teenage girls were able to sit at their own table inside the restaurant, and they were treated so kindly, which I really appreciated. We were in Yosemite celebrating my niece's 18th birthday, and this was our first meal of the trip. It ended up being such a perfect, memorable start. My dad had eaten here 2 years ago when he camped in the Wishon area with my sister and her family. In fact, he mentioned that to our server (I believe her name was Maya or Mara) and she shrugged it off nonchalantly. She couldn't have cared less that he'd had such a good experience that he wanted to return with us. It was almost as though she preferred us not being there as it was kind of how the rest of our interactions went during our meal, which was unfortunate because I really wanted to like this place. My parents split a Reuben sandwich with their delicious apple & walnut salad. I got to taste the salad, and wish I had ordered it with chicken or salmon, but I was craving something more filling to last me most of the drive back to Los Angeles. I opted for their cheeseburger and potato spirals. I requested Swiss on my burger, but wished afterwards that I had requested it with their smoked blue cheese as my burger lacked a bit of flavor and juiciness; despite asking for it to be cooked medium, it was quite dry. My daughter had their fish n chips from the kids menu but opted for broccoli instead of potatoes (she loves broccoli and I wanted help with my potatoes anyway). The breading on the fish was very crunchy, and my daughter complained that it hurt her teeth a bit. Our server never once came to check on us to see how our meal was nor to ask if we needed refills on our drinks or anything else. In fact, when she did return it was only to set the bill on the table without saying a word and run off to check on the couple at the next table. Literally a drive-by dropoff of the check, haha. And less than 20 seconds later she turns around and motions to pick up the little folder with the check in it and asks us "Is there anything in here yet?" I must've had some look on my face because she set it back down and immediately says, "No rush." Like, come on! You LITERALLY just set it on our table. I was quite annoyed - like did you think we were going to dine and dash? My mom was too intimidated to ask for a refill on her Arnold palmer to go. I still had lemonade in my cup so I did ask for a plastic cup to take the rest of it to-go as I didn't wish to hang out there much longer. Anyway, I hate to give bad reviews, but after such an amazing time in Yosemite, this one just stunk up the end of the trip. Some tips: circle around the buildings in the front where the market and self-serve gas are. Plenty of parking. Views of the lake are nice. Restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating, two floors with restrooms on both floors- the lower level seems to be reserved for dinner hours and maybe even small parties/events. Hopefully you have better luck than us in terms of service.

That is exactly what happened during my recent dinner at Elderberry House. I visited with a group of four, and between us, we had two gluten-free diners and one vegetarian. After a quick heads-up the day before, the restaurant handled our needs with total ease. We went for the five-course tasting menu, and it was incredible from start to finish. We kicked things off with one of the best oysters I have ever had, followed by a beautiful tuna presentation. The kitchen even looked out for our gluten-free friends with a special version of their herbal-butter focaccia that was actually delicious. By the time the main courses arrived, I honestly could not decide if I liked my beef or my friend's snap pea risotto better; every single bite was pure perfection. The cocktails were another high point. My first drink was great, but after chatting with our server, Jordan, I decided to try the Last Word. It featured that hard-to-find green chartreuse, and I am a little annoyed to report that I have a new favorite cocktail that requires such a rare ingredient. The service is what really made the night so special. Jordan was so charismatic and helpful, making sure we were perfectly taken care of all evening. He was so good that I almost worried a second visit would not be the same without him, though the rest of the staff quickly put that fear to rest. Abby was so friendly and responsible for a truly unique but perfect-for-the-vibe playlist, and Chris the mixologist even stopped by to geek out about gin and cocktails with us. From the genuine care for our food sensitivities to the clever touch of the iPad check-in hidden in an elegant binder, it was a night for the books. I cannot recommend this place enough and look forward to bringing my family next!

I expected the pricing based on previous reviews and the fact that it's located at a resort. Although expected I wouldn't say the food was necessarily worth the price. We ordered poke nachos to start, kids teriyaki chicken meal, a burger, grilled chees and tomatoe soup and the short rib pasta. The teriyaki sauce had an unusual gravy-like consistency but chicken was well seasoned. The burger was fine, and came with onion rings which were good. The grilled cheese and soup were the favorite with the short rib pasta as a follow up. I would eat here again if staying on site since everything else is about a 20min drive.

All of the staff went above and beyond to be super friendly and inviting. It felt like my husband and I were regulars the way the wait staff treated us. Every question we had was met with patience as they guided us on the best food and wine pairing. They also are super accommodating to pets, and were able to enjoy a nice meal with our pup. The food was all fresh and delicious. Everything tasted like it was made from the heart. My husband got the angel hair pasta with chicken, a favorite of his, and it did not disappoint! I got the brown butter sage gnocchi, made with fresh sage from their garden. We also enjoyed the meze board. My husband who does not like falafel was fighting with me for the last piece. For dessert I ate the rosemary shortbread with lemon curd. Just like with the sage the rosemary was also freshly picked from their garden. The shortbread was not too dry but also the perfect ratio of crispy on the outside and slightly moist on the inside - the exact way shortbread should be baked. I normally am picky with lemon desserts, but their lemon curd was also perfect - not too sweet and not too sour while still maintaining that fresh flavor. My biggest regret of our visit is not booking a room at their inn. We spent a couple of hours here and immediately felt right at home. I hope to come back one day for the full inn experience.

The gentleman at the counter was friendly and patient with us as we decided what to order. We enjoyed coconut water and kombucha for our drinks.
