Stopped in here when the homie wanted to pick up some magic cards, had never been here. Just moved here recently but would definitely circle back. Was a very cozy vibe that provides a safe space for anyone who needs a place to play games etc.. they got a drink bar, snack bar, restroom and a broad variety of comics and games. Staff is friendly and the prices seemed extremely generous.

Free Pikachu card for the kiddo!
    Tommy S.

Came in here for the first time to get my kid some Pokémon cards. The space is nice, a good size, organized, not cluttered with product, just the right amount of stock. There's a table where you can purchase some items with cash at a discount, but they can take credit cards for everything else. There's a second floor where a lot of people were presumably playing card games. I got some Pokémon cards, which yes, might've been a bit more expensive than other online sources, but not by much. And I appreciated getting legitimate cards and supporting a local business. The kicker was, after I made the purchase, the friendly guys behind the register gave my kid a free Pikachu card. Needless to say, my kid was on cloud 9. Thank you, Emerald Knights!

Poor response to negative review. The call was not even me which means this may not be an isolated incident

The staff is beyond friendly and, even though this location is small, it has a fantastic array of comics and other collectables. Even with my pull list at their other location, I always find something I have to pick up on my quick visit. They also have fantastic signings here throughout the year so there's a good chance that you can meet either one of your favorite writers or be introduced to your next obsession. My only complaint isn't even their fault & it's the parking. Like most of this area of NoHo, it's all limited street parking with meters or you're going to have to cross your fingers that you can find something in the residential streets in the area. But honestly, it's worth it. If you live in the area and are looking for your new favorite neighborhood shop, this is it.

The stock is about what you would find in any other comic shop, with the added benefit of being more expensive. I came in today, a Monday, to shop back issues, but the back issue bins were blocked, and covered in the new comics due out on Wednsday, with big signs thwt say "do not touch". I would guess this is why every other comic book shop on the planet has limited or no hours on TUESDAY to prepare Wednesday books. Either way, 25% of the store, you know the stuff collectors want, is unavailable to even shop. There are better and more hospitable shops in Burbank.

I guess one of the down sides is I just trust this place too much with their cards out on display no signs of LP, MP, or HP. Picked out a bunch of single cards & I noticed after the purchase, as I'm putting the cards in the top loaders, that one card was severely damaged in the back and top corner bent like a mf. 30 dollar card nothing crazy. I just simply asked if I can just get another 30 dollar card. Nope I couldn't do that. Keep in mind I haven't even left the store yet. The only thing they can do is give me 22 dollars cash. Like 8 dollars is not a big deal but it's the principle.. on top of that I went there on my lunch break had 1 hour, spent my entire hour there. First person to walk in and everyone that came in after me got the help they needed first after asking nicely if I can get some cards, I was the last one out. This experience left a very bad taste in my mouth and I'm writing this hoping others don't receive the same treatment. Probably won't come back Paper Hero Games on Burbank, friendly staff. GREAT prices.

But then you realize it extends this way, and that way, and it just sort of sucks you in deeper and deeper. I spent an hour here, bought way too many books, and could easily have spent another hour. There are absolute diamonds to be found here and the prices are very reasonable. The Iliad also has what every bookstore anywhere should have: cats. There are two cats roaming the bookstore and they are very friendly. If I owned a bookstore, it would be a haven for cats. Well worth a visit and a drive from almost anywhere.

I've been a longtime fan of the Iliad bookstore ever since it was over at its previous location off…read moreof Vineland. What this bookstore offers is tons and tons of books. The moment you walk in the front door you're confronted with the fact that they have a lot of books on a lot of subjects. In fact, at this location, the moment you walk into the door, you find a gigantic pile of all kinds of books on all kinds of subjects that they're offering for very discounted prices. I've often wondered what would happen if you wanted a book on the very bottom of the pile, and if you pulled it out, everything may come flying. But, that's just part of the fun of shopping at this bookstore, you never know what adventure you're going to encounter. In terms of selection, they have books on pretty much any subject you can think of. In some ways, it's a little hard to find certain things in this bookstore due to the massive quantity of books they have all set up in long aisles. In some cases, what I find kind of fun/curious is the fact that perhaps they will have a sign telling you that a certain subject of books in a particular aisle, but, when you look down that aisle, you can find none of the books on that subject. Mostly, I believe, that's just because they've sold out of that particular subject matter. But, it does make for an interesting quest, because there's been a few times when I've looked around the shop and found books on that subject in a completely different section. Thus, the chaos of this book shop adds to the overall quest for that great piece of reading material. This bookshop focuses a lot on fiction and poetry. They really have a large collection by various authors from across all genres and across the globe. So, if you're looking for that really unique piece of fiction and or poetry, this book shop most likely will have it. Overall, ever since its inception, Iliad has been a great place to find books. Yes, it is kind of a chaotic/fun sort of a mess. But, that adds to the overall uniqueness of this business. Fun place to shop!
