Which was a $250 I was willing to buy at price & when I called to check if they still had it, I was told "no I can't check for you.. there are too many cards in the display" I'm sorry what are you doing with your lazy self in a lonesome card shop in which I've never seen more than 2 customers in. Just lazy, incompetent and ill informed employees. Do better. This is such a stark contrast to this companies other shop on Olive in Burbank where the staff has been beyond friendly, helpful & informative. Sad to say, I wouldn't bother myself going back here unless there is significant change in service

Sealed product can sometimes be on the higher side, and I do wish there were more player support or perks for loyal customers who regularly play and shop here, but overall my experiences have been fair. All the workers are great, whether it's Andrew, Ryan or Brauny, they're always helpful, and a big reason I come weekly! Come for the games, comics, and especially the vibes.

As a new player, you can imagine my excitement to finally play out in the wild and not via sim or at home with my partner. After signing up for the event on the Bandai app, I noticed that the store had included a note that signing up on the app did not guarantee registration for the event and that registration would be first-come, first-serve the day of. Kind of defeats the purpose of pre-registering, but no problem. When my partner & I contacted the store for the event information, we were each told that sign-ups would begin at 6 p.m., and they discouraged coming earlier due to lack of space in store.   As I mentioned, I'm not a regular player to this store, and I'm not expecting to be treated with entitlement here, but I was disheartened to hear the employee tell me that, if I wanted to play in the pre-release, there was no point in waiting since they already allowed their local players to sign up well before the sign up time they told me and that they couldn't just tell them "to get the fuck out of the store."  But, clearly, he had no issues telling me that I could essentially get lost as they had honored others instead of the sign up policy they told me. When my partner called them out on this, we were offered to purchase six packs of OP-17 at MSRP (only if we waited in the artificial event line until 7 p.m.). When I declined and called it a joke, they offered to let us purchase a box of OP-17 at $400. The previous Friday (and outside of a pre-release event), they were selling sealed boxes of OP-17 for $330. I'm not faulting the store for selling outside of events and before the actual release date here (but I definitely will complain to Bandai about it), but the actual disrespect of trying to scalp a person that just wanted to participate in the event and join in the community was such a slap in the face.   While I had never played in a tournament or any kind of event at Legacy (or anywhere else) before, I have had the unfortunate experience of purchasing cards and sleeves from them. About 90% of the time, I am met with employees that I have to ask to help me because they are either on their phones, daydreaming, or just ignoring me. I'm not acquainted with a lot of card shops, but as the only example I had at the time, I was mistakenly led to believe that this kind of poor customer service was a standard. I have since experienced the gold standard at other card shops, such as Core TCG in Pasadena and Jungle in Little Tokyo.   I can't imagine how people within what seems to be such a fun, welcoming community accept this kind of treatment and blatant disrespect for themselves and others. For those that love One Piece as much as I have come to love OP, it saddens me that people are not more empowered to stand against this kind of malpractice.   This said, I want to give Legacy credit for doubling me down in this hobby outside of their business, supporting fair and honest spaces elsewhere that respect us in return.

The selection for both is not stellar but they are all in excellent condition. The good condition of books might be due to their strict "no reading" policy. I understand that they don't want people pulling a Barnes & Noble by reading books for free. However, I wish I could just look at the first page before buying, so I 100% have to go by online reviews. What keeps this at 4 stars for me is the warm reception I get every time I enter the store and the friendliness at checkout.

There were a couple employees available and I asked to see a couple cards but they insisted I type it into the system, select all the cards I'm interested in, then select check out, and THEN an employee would gather the cards for me to view. The first couple of cards I tried to type in were not found in the system but were in the display case. The employee suggested I type the card number (e.g. 2/108) and that did not work either. Finally I found a card I liked in the system but when I looked up that particular card, it appeared to have 2 versions, both near mint but different prices. When asked about the difference in prices, the person behind the counter took 10 minutes to research the cards and change the prices to even higher than originally listed - stating there was only 1 version of the card and they were mislabeled in the system. At this point, he finally showed me the cards and they were objectively not near mint. I wanted to get a closer look to see how played they were but they would not let me see the card outside the sleeve even when I requested that they take it out themselves if they were scared I would damage the card. He then again took the time to inspect the cards himself and correct the listed condition of the cards in their system while he had me wait. I asked if they would honor the original listed price from when I walked in but they said no. With that, and my not being able to make my own, closer inspection on the condition, I ended up not buying anything since I had no baseline to go off to see if it was worth buying for myself. Even without making a purchase, it was an awkward, uncomfortable shopping experience. The sealed product was comparatively much higher than the current market prices. There is a decent selection of singles but their tablet system was misleading and inconsistent. The selections were not good enough to entice me to come back. Be careful in your own price checking when coming to this place.

I've stopped in to check out the inventory and collections, which is super limited on the comic side, okay for graphic novels, but truly excels at Table Top games. The people are beyond friendly and I do recommend checking it out. I've gotten gifts for friends and a new game or two. PHG has grown and changed over the years becoming a super social card collector, player and topside gamer spot with events as well as tournaments. It's no purchase for entry to play games. Someone on duty might be right up front or getting their Loracna on... a newer growing Disney based trading card game. Their Facebook or Instagram being the place to keep up with the latest, not to mention their sibling stores near Sawtelle, Los Angeles, Santa Clarita and a new (coming soon) location in Huntington Beach. Parking is a small share lot with Nat's Early Bite Coffee Shop, Gift Worx, Oswaldo Lifestyle Fitness, and a few others in this Burbank [Blvd] Plaza mix. I visited Cash Card Unlimited in Topanga Mall yesterday and witnessed a truly upsetting scene. A…read morefather, probably in his 30s or so, caused a huge commotion over a dispute about three sets of collectible cards, maybe Pokémon or as I call them Toy Cards for children. I know this because he was shouting it through the rooftops where everybody can hear him.. His behavior was completely unacceptable for the public and towards the employees!! He was shouting and using horrible vulgar language, making it impossible for anyone in the store to ignore him. It was heartbreaking to see his young son, who looked like an elementary student, caught in the middle of this embarrassing display. The poor kid was clearly mortified by his father's actions. I know I would if I was in that kids shoes. Let me take a moment to give a shout-out to JOSH and MATEO. I only knew their names because the man was yelling and demanding their names to be publicly spoken while he was screaming at them. They truly handled the situation with incredible professionalism. They tried everything to calm this guy down, even while he was filming them and demanding their names. Honestly, management owes these two an apology for the garbage they have to deal with from customers like that. It looks like he even left a review yesterday as well maybe under the name Dj R because he put their images in his post and that's pretty much what they were wearing yesterday which shows you that this person lacks credibility not only in his posting but with his public spectacle. But I am not sure, it sure looks like him based on the toy cards. If I were you, I would never trust this man's postings or reviews based upon what I saw for a simple toy cards for an immature father. If you see this person coming around, I'd stay far away from him as he's probably a danger to himself, possibly others near him and we pray not to his child. Good Job to Josh and Mateo!! I have given this place too many chances. I have spoken to several people on the phone but NOTHING…read morechanges. I have spent hundreds of dollars at this place. I have placed a total of 4- maybe 5- online orders. And EVERY SINGLE TIME- after almost a day of waiting in some cases- I've had to call the store to find out why my order isn't ready for pick up. And EVERY SINGLE TIME I get the same reason of "we were busy" or "the order got overlooked". I have been to the location and whenever I go there's maybe a handful of people in there. Employees talking or working on store displays. So, you are telling me employees don't have 5 minutes of time to pull online orders in a small store that is open 8+ hours? This last order was the one that is making me write this review. I placed an order Sunday morning around 9:00am- BEFORE THE STORE OPENED- for 2 items that were last ones left. Low and behold just like every other time, no pickup notification all day. Called them this morning on 03/23 around 10:00am (after 24 hours of waiting again), the guy takes my information and tells me he can only find 1 of the 2 items, I specifically mentioned to him at that point, "that's because my order wasn't fulfilled on time like always". He then mentions that he will have it sent over right away from their other location so I can pick them up. His words: "I will text you about your order shortly". 5 Minutes later I get an email saying my order has been cancelled. I AM DONE WITH THIS PLACE. NO MORE.
