The biggest issue was the bathroom. The toilet clogged or struggled every single time it was flushed. The TV also had a distorted, blurry picture that constantly buffered. It's a very outdated TV. Broken remote, and there are limited channels. No option to use any streaming apps. While the air conditioner cooled the room well, it had bright red and blue flashing lights that blinked throughout the night. I reached out after receiving a text from the hotel asking how everything was. The staff member responded promptly, apologized, and said they would have the issues resolved by the end of the day, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, when I returned to my room that evening, the only change that had been made was that a lamp had been added to the empty nightstand. The room had not been cleaned, the sheets with the hairs had not been changed, the toilet still had the same flushing problem, and the other maintenance issues remained. While I appreciate the courteous response from the staff, I was disappointed that so little was actually addressed after reporting multiple cleanliness and maintenance concerns. I expected much better follow-through, especially since I was staying a second night.

This hotel is also just 20 minutes outside of Chicago. They offer free breakfast with your stay, you get a cute welcome gift when you check in; including chocolate chip cookies. The breakfast changes slightly day to day, but it includes meal options for just about every palette. The rooms are pretty spacious and they are kept in a clean condition. Here are the negative points about this hotel. First, none of the rooms have a microwave. Everyone, is expected to share the microwave that is in the cafeteria area. Not only is it an inconvenience iff you have to warm up food, but not everyone will clean up after themselves. Far too often the microwave was filthy. Second, the customer service was not always friendly or professional. One hotel worker in particular was often extremely rude with customers over the phone and in person. Comments like; " I don't care if you're checking out early", or "I'm sorry but we will not be cleaning your room" should not be a part of anyone shop is supposed to be in the customer service/ hospitality industry. Lastly, the rolling blackouts. On several occasions during our stay the hotel lost power temporarily. This may have been attributed to the heavy thunderstorms we experienced in Illinois, but too often the lights would go out and then come back on a few minutes later. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here, but it could have been better. The beds are comfortable enough for a good nights sleep and the hotel is affordable compared to other hotels in the area. We give it a 3 out 5 stars .

Stayed here twice this summer for weddings, and overall, it's a good place to stay…read more There are a couple of lakes out back - ask for a room overlooking them. Otherwise, your view will be of the highway. There are paved walking trails around the lakes, so you can get your miles in and stretch your legs. The rooms have refrigerators, but there are no microwaves. They have a few microwaves available upon request, so ask for one when you check in if you are going to need one. This is a great wedding venue, particularly for Indian weddings, but they also host Western/American weddings. They have both indoor and outdoor spaces, so there are options depending on the weather. Be warned that the hotel is designed around an atrium, so if there is a late night wedding reception, you might hear it in your room. The bar can get CRAZY packed late at night after a wedding reception too. On each of our visits, two weddings were happening at the same time, but they managed it well. Overall, it was a great stay - just make sure you are prepared for some noise if you are staying over a weekend.

When my AC broke earlier this week, I decided to spend a few nights in a hotel while it got serviced. With the Westin being the closest hotel, I chose it for a little "stay-cation". I checked in later in the day (10pm) and got to my room, which was not really cold. I turned down the thermostat and turned up for the fan speed and nothing got colder. I called the front desk, and they said they would send the maintenance person up. About 10 minutes later, the HVAC man came to my room. He took the unit apart and took out an extremely dirty filter and replaced it with a new one. He told me that was likely the issue, and mentioned that my compressor was cold and working well. But also mentioned that there is only one speed on the AC units in the hotel (low) and the three speeds on the thermostat don't do anything. He left and the AC unit never got any colder. The thermostat said 60°, but I don't believe it ever got below 70°-72°. I called to get my room changed and I was told they were all booked. I stayed for two nights and it was fine. Not really fancy, pretty outdated, and just like many other cheaper hotels in the area. The AC never got colder, if you're someone like me who loves the cold AC of a hotel, this Westin is not for you.

No water provided by the desk clerk and no water in the vending machine. Our United flight had been cancelled and they offered us this hotel (12 miles away from O'Hare) or two other Wyndham's (20 miles away from O'Hare). So many other hotels they could have offered which are close to O'Hare and are better than 2.7 stars. If we weren't so tired after travelling all day and it was after 1:00am, we would have definitely ran for the hills. Come on Wyndham and United! You put us in a 2.7 star hotel as your restitution for cancelling our flights and then putting us on another flight that we missed our connection? This is so insulting and unacceptable. I'm a Wyndham Platinum Member and will be sending this info to Wyndham corporate. My son and sister are United Silver; the rest of our party are also United Rewards members, we have United/Chase Credit Cards, and fly United quite often as one of hubs is in Newark. I will also be letting United management know that they should not send anyone to that hotel. On the only positive note, the hotel clerk/shuttle driver were nice.

It was actually American Airlines who provided our stay here after our flight got delayed 'til the following day, but under normal circumstances. I would definitely stay here next time we're in Chicago.
