They came out to fix the leak from the bathroom to the garage. It wasn't possible because the leak was related to age of the shower glass and the worn out grout in between of the tiles. However, they replaced the old shower cartridge and charged $295.49 (2* 95 service call, trip charge of $30 and materials $75.49). When I called for an update I was told the invoice and the report was sent out. I requested to resend it twice and didn't get it until today. I called a different plumbing company to get another opinion about the leak. When they came out today, it turned out that the cartridge was installed upside down (which doesn't have anything to do with the leak of course but still was surprising to say the least). So I called them back and made them aware of it and the representative told me that the person who installed had years of experience. The customer service representative was impatient, defensive and made rude remarks. I would never recommend this company to anyone! Incompetent customer service and lack of professional skills! read more

My elderly mother was having some drainage issues at her house. CJ came out , diagnosed the problem, fixed it and left the work area very clean (something very important to her). But more importantly he was kind and considerate to her at a time when she wasn't at her best due to some medical conditions. Let me tell you about the horrible experience I had by phone with Emerald Plumbing today. As an owner of a rental I requested for them to look at an issue with my tub since they re-plumb the entire home June 2013 and im thinking it is a warranty issue. They were to make arrangements with the tenant for entry into the rental to check out the problem. I did not hear from them until i called and spoke with the tech who describe the issue and also informed me that they needed to order 1 more additional canister. So i said okay and i waited. According to my cell phone history the last time I spoke with them on December 7th regarding the status of the part that needed to be ordered. It has not come in at that time Let me add the only reason I found out about what the issue was and the status is because I had to call them. I haven't heard anything else so I called the tenant who informed that she doesn't work from home anymore so she hasn't been home to grant them access. Their lack of communication is horrible. Emerald Plumbing should have shared with me since I am the point of contact for any communication and payment on my rental. They failed to informed me that they were having issue getting access. If they were having issues i would have driven up to meet them and let them in myself. If it was a payment issue I bet my phone will be ringing non-stop but they conveniently wanted to blame me and tell me that they informed me that were having issues getting access to the unit. So when I called today Kira's tone and attitude was inappropriate. I called back and asked to speak with the manager of Kira and the Assistant Manager answered and she attempted to try and passed blame on to me as what I perceived as inappropriate. She went on to try and say she heard me yelling and that infruiated me because she was trying to say something to justify Kira's actions when in fact i wasnt yelling at all; not once did I raised my voice. Yes I repeatedly asked her question after question that she couldn't answered because they have no records of the work order. Conveniently, if it was money due to them they would be dialing my cell trying to collect and there would have been a work order. I will be posting an update because they now have to send a message out to all their workers to see who went out to do the work and what part were they waiting for. read more

When I made my appointment I was told they would arrive from 9-9:30, Frank called in the morning and advised of his arrival time. He was right within schedule. I'm floored with how honest and efficient these guys are. I moved into a new house recently and the former owner had tons of plumbing hack-jobs done, including a second story shower leaking to the room below it and the water heater piped with no shutoff valves. I thought the problem was going to take at least a full day to fix but Brian "Chief" Bailey and his crew member fixed it in less than two hours. They piped the water heater in 30 minutes and even spent some time educating me on my septic tank. They were both super friendly too. Upon discovering that our house in Orlando had polybutylene pipes and the inherent problems facing them as they age and the fact that many insurance companies won't even insure a house with polybutylene pipes, I did the required research and settled on Emerald Plumbing to perform the whole house re-piping. It is a fascinating process to watch as they showed up with a team of 5 or 6 guys and completely re-piped the house in 1 day! Their team of workers worked very well together. They disconnect the original piping and then run everything through the rafters/trusses of the house. Obviously, they remove large sections of drywall in order to bring the pipes down from above and connect to the different faucets, toilets, etc. They also use 1/4 turn shut off valves which are wonderful. I will say that you need to "hover" because I feel like they did try to do some shortcuts. The main one I'm thinking of is when we had them install the plumbing for a pot filler and instead of solidly securing the pipe against a 2x4 secured between the two studs, the worker fastened it to one stud and then tried to secure it with a metal plate. Now, knowing this is all going to be between walls and having a little weight to it, I simply did not feel comfortable with that setup. I asked the guy in charge about it and he had him correctly install it. That's great but, at this price and with their reputation, they shouldn't be taking any shortcuts. So, anyway, they completed the re-piping in 1 day and did a pressure test, which they called me out to witness. Yes, it did, indeed, hold pressure. They left and the next day, their drywall guys came in and and "refinished" all the drywall repairs. They don't do any painting BUT they put the drywall back together and match the finished texture so, once it's painted, you don't even know it's been cut. They finished all that work within a day so the entire house re-piping took a total of 2 days. WELL, EXCEPT for a problem! About 6 days later, my wife went into a part of the house which we don't typically use and found the ceiling soaked, the wall of the bathroom soaked, and water on the floor! We called Emerald and a worker came out and, yes, there was a "bad crimp" in one of the lines and it had been leaking for 5 or 6 or 7 days before my wife realized it. They repaired that leaky crimp Now, Emerald didn't hesitate and called a water damage company who came out and tore apart that bathroom and the hallway because they found mold from the leak. That meant that they had to mitigate that mold, bringing in fans and taping off the hallway for a week or so. It took the water damage repair folks almost 2 weeks to complete their work so the total job, for us, was about 3 weeks of headaches. I guess I was most disappointed in the fact that the owner of Emerald never visited or called and said "sorry". It would have gone a long way since it disrupted our lives for WAY more than 2 days. Now, Emerald paid for all the repairs so I have no complaint there. Overall, their work was good BUT don't just believe that all will be well and not check things closely for a couple of weeks after the work is completed. Had my wife seen this problem sooner, the hassle would have been much less. I gave 4 stars because, overall, I think they did very good work and they worked together seamlessly but I can't give 5 starts because of the "shortcuts" and leaking crimp we experienced. Two other people used them in our neighborhood without any problem whatsoever so I know this is an anomaly but I still feel I need to let potential customers know our experience. read more

UPDATE: After calling them several times they got my credit of $116.00. Since I thought they reneged on the credit, then I contacted the credit card company and I let that reach its conclusion. They gave me more credit. Why? I was billed for 3 hours of work NOT performed. They need to explain the flat fee better because they made it sound like if they were done in an hour then that was it. These are shady billing practices and myrna confuses people on purpose. This is not good. You can do better! read more

I had a leak in my water main that was running about 10 gallons per minute. I called at 12 noon on a Friday and was told someone would be there in 25 minutes. Eric showed up in 20 minutes and found the leak in moments. He was done in an hour and the bill was under $125 for a perfect repair. I wouldn't hesitate to call Emerald again for any plumbing needs. When a company doesn't do a job right, one would expect them to return and fix their mistake. I had Emerald Plumbing track down a leak and replace a cartridge in my shower. In tracking down the leak, they disassembled the handle on my tub and put it back on upside down. In the shower, where they replaced the cartridge, they replaced the handle with a new one. It just spins, never bringing a temperature change. After taking many cold showers, I asked them to come fix and made an appointment. I had to stay home from work to get it done. Three hours after they were scheduled to arrive, I got the message that they couldn't come out. And, although open, won't send anyone on the weekend either. Now I have to take another day off of work. This isn't a good way to do business. read more

I hired them for a plumbing repair and the repair took 3 days to complete. Needlessly to say I was WITHOUT water for 3 days. Each day I was the last call. And when I received the bill it was way over the price that I was quoted. But when I called the office to question, I was constantly being threatened the account going to collection. Not only did they throw my personal items around and pile them wherever they wanted but they also broke things and when brought to their attention the plumbers there at the time took ownership of the things they broke, but when I spoke to the supervisor the next day he didn't want to take ownership of anything that they had broken and actually told me there was no way they could have broken them!!! I had a leak even after a complete repipe with no solution from them to fix the soaked drywall from the leak after their repipe! After springing a leak in the foundation we elected to have our house repiped rather than start a cascade of repairs in our old copper plumbing. We interviewed five different plumbing companies; Emerald was the last. They had the lowest quoted price of everyone we saw - from $200 to $1500 lower, and this without ever seeing what others had quoted, so there was no undercutting just to get the job. The repipe was scheduled for a couple days later, and went off without a hitch - only about six hours to complete the whole house. The price included all drywall repair that needed to be done to close the necessary access points they cut (not repair of the original damage from the leak, but we didn't expect that.) Very professional, friendly, efficient and unbeatable price. The owner explained to me that he kept his prices low because he did not spend any money on advertising, but relied on word of mouth. Called Emerald at 8:00 am because I had a faucet on the side of my house leaking. Arranged for a plumber to come out the same day... They called me 30 minutes before arriving. I was met by "Ed", who was very professional and got right to work. The plumber had to break into the wall and re-solder on a new spigot. After replacing the spigot, he patched the wall for me. What was a sewer backup nightmare turned out to have a good ending, thanks to Emerald Plumbing. Due to repeated sewage backup, we called Emerald to get a second opinion on the problem. Erick and Dave snaked and clean out the line, scope with a camera, then took it another step further by digging into the ground and visually check to see what was causing the obstruction underneath the ground. They found debris and roots growing into the county clean out tap due to a missing cap. Dug out, cleaned, and removed debris. Replaced cap and female adaptor. Saved us thousands of dollars as the first plumber recommended replacing our "cracked" pipeline. We highly recommend their service. read more
