I booked a reservation through Open Table a month in advance of St Patrick's Day only to receive an email from the restaurant that my reservation was cancelled. The email came at 1:00 on St Patrick's Day, too late to make a reservation anywhere else. Their excuse was they were only accepting "walk ins" on that day. There is no excuse for not honoring my reservationnmade well innadvance.

The emerald rose used to be good. Ordered a N.Y. strip med rare and the "first" steak was medium well. The remake was pretty much raw.... The hostess was rude, however our waiter was great. It wasn't his fault. Either way, don't bother.

Not a bad lunch menu, decent lobster rolls... doesn't accept out of state licenses for alcohol purchases.

Went there with my wife this afternoon. Both of us had the baked haddock with rice pilaf and mixed vegetables. It was perfect.

Is there still outdoor dining in 2021? Are there heaters or igloos etc

There is outdoor seating on both sides of the restaurant and yes an indoor fire place that is cozy and so pretty.

What happened to the wonderful mac and cheese ? Please bring it back. It was one of the best meals on the menu

When they revamped the menu, they are under new ownership, many items were discontinued and most all of what they serve is portion controlled pre-packaged. I do not expect the new owners to explain their conduct other than they are increasing their…

The beer selection is great and exactly what you want in a place like this. I have had the stew and the shepherd's pie on different visits, and both were very good. Classic Irish comfort food done well and consistent with the overall vibe. Service has been top-notch every time. Friendly, attentive, and consistent without being overbearing. It adds to the experience and makes it an easy place to return to. The decor and ambiance are very typical of an Irish bar. Warm, comfortable, and easy to settle into for a while. One of the things I like most is the amount of space. There is plenty of room overall, and the bar itself is long with lots of seating, which makes it easy to grab a spot or get seated even when it is busy. They also have Irish music here fairly often, which fits the place well, though I have not been in when it is happening. Bunratty is a great choice for a few drinks or a casual meal. It is reliable, comfortable, and properly run. I will give it a well deserved four star review.

I think the chef is one of those people, because I had the muscles today and it was so salt forward. I mean it was dangerously full salt, but I was so hungry that I ate it anyway and then I told the waitress I said I should not even complain because I ate the dish however they should watch out for the salt. She said it's one of the most popular dishes and people like it that way . The restaurant decided to be gracious enough and swap that off of my order and let me get something else instead, but I was already full, so I took home a salad. Hours later, I figured it would be nice to have something refreshing after all that salt. I'm eating the salad and something crunchy and it's not the normal crunch. So I decide to like look into the lettuce and I see dirt. Especially now with everything going on around lettuce I am beyond shocked. I tried to call the restaurant granted it was dinner time but no answer so I called the sister company in another city and they said they would have the manager reach out to me which never happened . What surprised me as well as the manager from the sister location said he finds this surprising because the lettuce comes in triple washed, and they wash it themselves. All I could say to that is maybe open up the lettuce leaves and rinse them or open your eyes. So I'm putting it out there, I would like my money back, but since you can't answer the phone or own up to any responsibility, I'm leaving this message for you because I get a lot of hits on my reviews and I'm gonna tell people do not eat at this place unless your taste buds are completely dead and you just need salt and dirt survive. PS the ambience is so dark. It's decorated nicely, but they definitely need more light can barely read the menu.. Update, Stewart the owner wouldn't take my call, but they did issue a refund .

So I get a large Chip's Tip sub and a few pastries for snacks. The bill was steep for what I got but I thought it would be worth it for my son to try the sub. After getting it, we split the sub and ate it in the car. Let me tell you that this was not the same steak tip I remembered. It was so bad, we tossed it in the garbage at the gas station next door. The steak was very tough and hard to chew - almost like the tips had been cooked earlier and then reheated for my order. Everything just seemed greasy. We also did not enjoy the raspberry turnover or yellow cream cannoli's we got for dessert. Maybe it was us or maybe it was the food but I will never go there again. We are not food snobs by any stretch of the imagination, and I rarely will say anything bad about a restaurant experience but we ended up going to Augusta's which is just a little bit down the road, for chicken just to erase this experience from our mouths. I know a lot of people will swear by their steak tip subs and that is great but it's just not for me anymore.
