Last night, I went to this restaurant for the first time. Being an Irish girl, and having this place in my hometown excited me. The potato skins appetizers were delicious, and this intrigued me for the dinner ahead. When I got my salad, the ranch dressing was so salty, it made me nautious and I could not finish it. In addition, my turkey dinner I got as the main course all tasted like it was cooked in the same pot. There was very little flavor to it. However, the service was good and the atmosphere was genuine. I would maybe go there for a drink (great beer, wine, and cocktail selection) or dessert, but probably not for dinner. read more

Emerald Rose is an average place with a large bar side and an equally large dining side. Food was very average. Not great, not bad. Fills the belly for a fair price. Fish and chips were good, not great. Our server, Jamie, was super. She's an asset to the Rose. She was friendly and attentive and speedy, as were other employees we came in contact with. Some TV's keep you up on the games and during Patriots or Bruins games, wings are 6/$1.99...can't beat that! So Emerald Rose is recommended for a casual meal. Don't expect gourmet, that's not their thing. But the meal was satisfying and the drinks were cold. I would suggest they dim the lights a bit for ambiance. This is the third year we have gone to the Emerald Rose for Thanksgiving dinner. the first year was terrific, the second just so so and the third (this year) not so great. The food wasn't that warm, the soup was tasteless and they now charge extra for the dessert with the turkey dinner.! Just not the place it used to be!! read more

Went there to eaton a few occassions. Never blown away. Last time I went there thought I would get a good corned beef sandwich, it being an "Irish Pub:. Sandwich was VERY thin. I asked the waitperson about it. She took the sandwich back to the kitchen and returned with the bad news that the cook told her the amount of meat is weighed and my sandwich conformed. She wasn't sympathetic, but rather coldly returned my sandwich. Great service, huh? NEVER AGAIN! read more

I went here one time and got some of my favorite dishes. NE Clam Chowder and a Reuben. Both of which were thoroughly disappointing. The service was nothing too special, and nothing else really impressed or repulsed me. Other than the fat guy sitting next to me who ate EVERYTHING. Overall, I have had much better. read more

Ok, here it goes. This place is bitter sweet. Here is a stab in the dark. The location is pretty good located on 3A. From the outside it is a pretty building. The inside is a cross between Irish fine dining and and Irish Dive. I guess you can call it borderline Irish Fine diving. Anyway OK so the food is pretty good but not always consist ant. The specials are usually pretty good and you cant go wrong with a good ole fashioned Irish appetizer. The drinks are fair and the beer is coldish if that make sense. The service is just OK they seem to be all about you at first and it slowly dies off. The booths are very comfy and the bar is very welcoming. If you are looking for above average Irish fare this is the place to come. read more

Went for dinner and drinks. We sat on the patio, which was nice and I definitely recommend sitting out there. Food was good, service was super slow. She seemed preoccupied with another table that appeared to be regulars and basically ignored us. She admitted she forgot my husbands appetizer salad (which we waited for for like 30 minutes) and then dinners came out way after that. She never checked on us and everything just took way longer than it should have. But like I said, the food was good but i can't say I'd go back. Kinda insulting spending that much money to be ignored. Plenty of other places around the area I can go to. :-( read more

Food was good, big selection of draft beer, friendly staff, good atmosphere .... but .... I ordered a drink with premium tequila and Cointreau and it was $15 bucks .... a little pricey for a restaurant in the burbs. I ordered a steak tip dinner for $20 bucks and the portions were small. I don't mind paying for a meal but make it worth it. My date's meal was good but on the cold side. read more

Follow up: The manager/owner finally contacted me after three weeks. Granted that it was a busy period with St. Patrick's Day and Easter being back to back, but the time lapse does indicate where the restaurant's priorities lie, and I do not think it is with making amends. However that being said, the manager's letter did include a gift certificate for $35 which I gave to my wife who took her sister for lunch. I declined...as I said...there will not be a third time. read more

Not very impressed with this place, but the food was OK - typical pub food, slightly bland but filling. Good enough to drink on...the Guinness is pretty good and the atmosphere cozy like a traditional Irish pub. I've never been to the bar on a weekend, but I can see how it would be fun to meet up with friends for a few drinks. read more

Went on fathers day at 1:00, there was seven of us. Food was not good, service was not good. very disappointed - old tasteless food. The salad had no flavor, old tomato's, the $25.00 petite filets were very small ( we laughed) and a cheap cut of beef. The chicken fingers were over cooked and dried out, the kids didn't eat them. The rice served with the fish was old and tasteless. The summer squash was also sitting around for a while, served brown not yellow. The waitress forgot to take one order we had to chase her down. I work one town away and this is pretty central to people in Lowell, Burlington, and, certainly Billerica too. Menu is mostly the same kinds of semi-Irish pub food that diners can find somewhere in every town between Boston and Worcester. Beer selection is pretty generous and prices for both alcoholic beverages and food are relatively reasonable. It's a good sized pub and never seems to get overly packed. Nothing especially stands out about the Emerald Rose, but nothing really disqualifies it as a good lunch or dinner selection either. read more

The reason why I didnt give it 4 stars for being an fan is because. When I was there I ordered the Caprese Salad with Chicken. I asked if they could toss in a couple of cumbers in there. When the waiter came back he informed me that they have to charge me 75 cents for the 3 cumbers they put in my meal. mmm ya I was lived about this...really 75 cents for 3 slices....I could purchase the whole dam cumber for that amount....plus to boot I go there all the time...what happen to customer satisfaction. One of the best meals I had in the surrounding Boston area. The seafood jambalaya was excellent! Piles upon piles of food, I couldn't come close to finishing my meal. Beer was excellent. Atmosphere is superb, tv's showcasing sporting events, a huge bar with a large selection of beer and alcohol, and friendly and attentive wait staff. I highly recommend dropping in! This place is amazing! I went there for the first time with my husband based off of a recommendation and it definitely did not disappoint. The food was amazing. I got he scallops and my husband got the whisky burger. For an appetizer we got the spinach and artichoke dip and they gave up a ton of bread and butter. You can tell that everything is homemade. The waitress was incredibly friendly and helpful. I do not have any complaints and I will definitely be going back. I want to try everything on the menu! read more

Spent some time in Lexington and Concord for Patriot's Day weekend and stopped into Emerald Rose for dinner with my boyfriend, Matt. It was a Saturday night and there was live music in the bar. We were seated in the dining room, which is separated from the bar and actually quite quiet. For appetizers Matt got the clam chowder and we ordered a plate of Pretzel Bites. The pretzels and the cheesey dip it was served with was fantastic. The chowder looked great...nice and thick! Matt said it was good. For our meals, I got the Steak Tips with mashed potatoes and broccolini and Matt got the Bangers and Mashed. The steak tips were marinated with a Guinness BBQ sauce and were cooked perfectly and the sides were tasty as well. The bangers were very flavorful. Great meals and fantastic service as well! Our waitress was extremely friendly and attentive. Will be back next time I'm in the area! read more

Had taken my mother there for a late lunch for her birthday . We had 7 people. We ordered appetizers they came out correct, hot and enjoyable. There was some down time before the meals so we had to ask for bread, mind you the other tables that were seated after us were given their bead basket.(had different waitstaff) Ordered our meals, we're delivered the wrong meals. The waitress returned shortly thereafter to gather the wrong food. Waited another 15 or so for our meals to come. My mothers didn't come. We started eating while she was waiting for her meal. Again after some time the waitress showed her face. We pointed out that my mom Still didn't get her food. She said sorry someone delivered it to the wrong table (the waitress delivers the food). She cannot take blame. Went bAck to the kitchen. Grabbed a steak tip dinner of which was delivered raw. Had to get the manager because the waitress was no where to be found . She took it back to the kitchen for them to cook the steak more. Returned with it. Now 6 of us had finished our meals . My mom now eating by herself at her birthday. Then the horrible waitress decided it's time to clean up the dishes of those finished. Basically making my mom hurry. Waitress came over as I explained to her the scenario , she then started raising her voice telling me people Make mistakes . I am human......, whatever you are In the service business . The check came of which they didn't remove the birthday meal as my mother received a letter from the establishment for a few birthday lunch. After having to call her back again she finally got it right . The manager was extremely apologetic. There is no excuse for a bad waitress. I guess she doesn't realize the patrons pay her check. The food was ok. ..... in no hurry to return. Got the corrected bill .. the waitress starts saying sorry I am just a college kids. Blah blah. Not sure what that was about but ... No wonder there were only 3 other parties eating . Not sure if they could handle anymore than that. read more

Wonderful restaurant, amazing wait staff. Food is very good - we had baked haddock, Shepard's pie, and mussels. So the mussels were not great but rest of food delicious! Best Shepard's pie I've eaten! I would say the wait staff really makes a huge difference. A nice family feel! read more

My favorite place to dine in near my house. My wife and I frequent often and know several of the bartenders. All of them are great. The menu has gone through some changes that I don't like. My latest visit a week ago I found that both the chili and a hamburger with egg were removed and both were my go to items. The drinks are great and there are plenty of TVs. Parking can be sometimes difficult but usually you can find a spot in one of the two lots in the back. I recommend the nachos and steak tips plus a martini and you won't be disappointed. read more

I've been to Emerald Rose 5 times over the past 2 years and each time I had a very good to great experience. I tend to sit at the bar and all the bartenders I've encountered were very nice, attentive, and upbeat. I've usually had a seafood dish when there and they've always been great (really enjoyed the baked scallops yesterday). And they know how to properly pour a Guinness. The atmosphere is typical for an Irish pub/restaurant. I've found it to be clean, not too loud, and has a nice authentic vibe. Plenty of TV's there is you want to watch sports. And they have a good size parking lot so no problem finding a place to leave your car. read more

The beer selection is limited, but they pour a damn fine pint of Guinness (and serve bottles of Magners which is rare). This place is fun, has a granite and woodgrain look that fits the motif of the Irish tavern. The prime rib special is absolutely phenomenal... their whipped butter spread that comes with the bread is light and sweet, housemade and delicious.. they don't skimp here. I also have had the chicken and rice soup.... super good as well..... I followed up with the chowder, I like chowder thick not pastey and this fit the bill perfectly.... The food is freshly prepared and is always delicious. I went here for beer on a Friday night recently. They didn't have a band that evening, so it was just a regular bar with lots of room. Bartenders were nice, but the beer was served warmer than I would have liked. The beer was also more expensive than I would have liked, but whatever. The only thing remarkable about this place was the police presence. First, let me say that this is quite possibly the tamest bar I've ever been in. I would have (almost) felt safe leaving my wallet on the bar while I went to the bathroom. So I thought it was highly strange that they have an armed, uniformed Billerica cop stationed in the front lobby, another cop outside, and when I left, a third cop did a drive by. Extremely weird considering at MicKee's I've never once seen a cop. read more
