I booked a reservation through Open Table a month in advance of St Patrick's Day only to receive an email from the restaurant that my reservation was cancelled. The email came at 1:00 on St Patrick's Day, too late to make a reservation anywhere else. Their excuse was they were only accepting "walk ins" on that day. There is no excuse for not honoring my reservationnmade well innadvance.

Great service and a good menu. Their clam chowder was one of the better ones I have had in a long while. Had the Irish mixed platter which was fun and tasty. Small Shepard's pie, chicken pot pie, and a banger and mash. Pot pie was a little thin sauce wise. Nice quiet place.

The emerald rose used to be good. Ordered a N.Y. strip med rare and the "first" steak was medium well. The remake was pretty much raw.... The hostess was rude, however our waiter was great. It wasn't his fault. Either way, don't bother.

Always a staple for that side of town. Food is usually decent and the weight staff is usually good.

Yummy Irish Pub with amazing service. Beautiful bar for watching the game and a separate, quieter dining room.

Is there still outdoor dining in 2021? Are there heaters or igloos etc

There is outdoor seating on both sides of the restaurant and yes an indoor fire place that is cozy and so pretty.

What happened to the wonderful mac and cheese ? Please bring it back. It was one of the best meals on the menu

When they revamped the menu, they are under new ownership, many items were discontinued and most all of what they serve is portion controlled pre-packaged. I do not expect the new owners to explain their conduct other than they are increasing their… Read more

We asked the manager for some napkins to prop up the wobbly table and he said (quote) "Why don't you tell your kid not to stand on his chair" and walked away. The kid in question was literally sitting in his chair with one foot against the table. We explained to the manager the impact of what he said, and gave him multiple opportunities to apologize. We get it: its St Patrick's Day in an Irish bar and it's stressful. But instead of recognizing that he snapped: he doubled down and tried to convince us that his language fine, and that we were in the wrong for calling him out. I even talked with him an hour later, after it had cooled off, and he continued to be aggressive and dismissive. A bad manager is one thing. But our server didn't acknowledge the awkwardness (even as other families watched in shock), just trying to rush us out. The food was probably the worst it's ever been at Stone's, which raises questions of why. It's understandable to have a bad day, it's *not* ok to set the tone for your staff and establishment that berating your customers, unprompted, is acceptable.

She was able to find us a table after a short wait at the bar. By the way, at the bar I had the best Guinness I have had in a while - a great pour. Once we sat down, Rachel was right there to welcome us and get us started. This exceptional level of service from her continued throughout the evening. We started with the sharing platter and each item was fantastic. Everything was hot and delicious. Of particular note were the pigs in blankets - the sausage is fantastic. The only disappointment was that it came with one scotch egg instead of two. For supper, two of us ordered shepherds pie, one Guinness pie, one Guinness stew and one Fish & Chips. Everyone was very happy with their meal. Great flavor/seasoning, good portions and perfectly cooked beef and fish. We continued to enjoy the Guinness and Smithwick's on tap until the end of the meal when got a round of Irish Coffee which was delicious. Rachel was spot on with her service and attitude and even engaged in a conversation with us about our next trip to Ireland and she reinforced our desire to go the north of Ireland including Donegal where she is from. At some point my wife told Rachel that it was my birthday and that I am not a cake person. Rachel managed to get the kitchen to make a personal size apple crumble which was scrumptious and happens to be a favority of mine. In fact my wife commented after that she would have ordered it but it was not on the menu as a dessert. Another example of Rachel going above and beyond the call to ensure we had a great experience. And we did. Thank you to Rachel and all the staff and chefs for a briliant evening. I can't wait to go back!!

Luckily they had a patio table for two available immediately. Glad we were seated outside. Inside was very crowded and loud. Our server Pierce was humorous, attentive, and friendly. We ordered an espresso martini and a Dubliner along with our house soup with Irish soda bread and shepherds pie with lamb. The restaurant has lots of indoor and outdoor seating. We saw lots of Scottish people yesterday, many wearing kilts, in high spirits. Fun people watching. A satisfying meal with a tasty cocktail was exactly what we needed to re-energize. My soup tasted like corn cheddar (I was only told it was vegetable soup), very rich and creamy. The bread was delicious and hearty. The shepherds pie was piping hot and flavorful with some cinnamon(?) in it that gave it an unusual twist.
