Hands down amazing experience. I've never been to a spa or done any of these treatments before but…read moreI got the Shiny Pearl and I definitely felt like one after. The staff was so kind and helped explain all the facilities and gave suggestions on which to use at what time. The treatment itself was heavenly. And all the facilities were so clean! They have a bunch of different hair/skin products to use after your treatment and they have tea, a coffee machine, water and snacks in case you're in need of some sustenance during your visit. They even have an ATM near the entrance if you forget cash for your tip, or you can Venmo/Zelle. I will 100% be coming back!

Facilities were clean and lovely, they have the spas and massage rooms on the first floor and a clay and salt room on the second floor. There is a vanity room where there are plenty of snacks and water/coffee/tea for you to rehydrate yourself with. I believe you get an hour before and after your appointment to enjoy all the amenities. And if you get the scrub highly recommend coming early and softening up your skin in the spas beforehand. I got the silverbell 1 hour message, which comes with the scrub, massage, and also a hair wash. The lady was super gentle and checked in on me whether that was the water temperature, scrub pressure or the massage strength. I thought with everything going on in this it might feel too rushed but time felt well budgeted.

I've been a loyal customer here for a few years and have genuinely loved this place, but I'm really…read moredisappointed in the recent changes. Over time they've been quietly chipping away at the value, first lumping Swedish and deep tissue massages into the same price point, effectively raising prices for Swedish clients without adding anything new. Now they've cut massage times across the board while raising prices again. Going from 90 to 80 minutes might not sound like much but you really feel it on the table. 90 minutes was enough time for a thorough full-body massage and now it just feels rushed. And cutting the 60 minute massage down to 50 is almost pointless, that's barely enough time to get through the basics. If they had just raised prices a bit I could have lived with that, but cutting the actual time changes the experience in a way you can't make up for. It feels like the people making these decisions have lost sight of why customers actually come here. You're paying more for less, which feels like a disrespectful move toward customers who have been coming here consistently. The therapists are great, but these business decisions have me reconsidering whether I'll keep coming back

Environment & Ambience: Kabuki has a much wider space, calming music, great ambience, wonderful smells and decor. OnsenSF is a dining space when you enter and spa in the back. Everything looks modern and nice, relaxing environment despite being located in the tenderloin. 3. Hot Tub: Kabuki has a rectangle shaped hot tub as opposed to OnsenSF's square shaped tub. 4. Cold plunge: Kabuki has a cold plunge that's perfect for people who don't need it to be extremely freezing. OnsenSF has a cold shower with many heads in place of a cold plunge. Both are enjoyable experiences 5. Steam Room: Kabuki's steam room is also rectangular as opposed to OnsenSF's square room. Kabuki's steam room also has a shower to rinse off excess salt and sweat before entering the common area. 6. Showers: At Kabuki, there's also a line of stools for the seated handheld showers where you can fill a tub of water and pour it over yourself in addition to the traditional shower stalls, where OnsenSF only has the traditional showers if I recall correctly. 7. Sauna: The sauna was great because you could adjust the heat by moving up the wooden bleachers. There was also plenty of space to stretch out and lie down. There were wooden half-cylinder blocks to place under the neck and back to promote blood flow. My partner's favorite standout was the salt scrub they have that's free to take at the refreshments table. You use it to scrub away dead skin in the shower and steam room. My favorite was the bowl of towels buried in ice cubes that helped me keep a cool head in the hot tub and sauna room. I will say that the thing that makes OnsenSF stand out is their dining pop-ups, but there's plenty of dining options on Fillmore and in Japantown. I would definitely go back to Kabuki again. The experience was incredibly relaxing. Highly recommend.

I called to book him an appointment the day before and told the receptionist that I would prefer someone good and I asked if a male masseuse would be better. She stated that actually the female masseuse would be better if I was comfortable and I appreciated that and said yes I would love the female masseuse for my husband. She the tells me all the accolades the female masseuse that will be working on my husbands back has. Next day, my husband arrives and ends up with Rafael. My husband said Rafael did what he could but unfortunately did not get most of his knots out. When he got home, I massaged his back and was surprised with the amount of knots he still had. It was as if he never got his deep tissue massage. I'm deeply saddened because my husband still ended up paying out of pocket (expensive massage) and he did not feel relaxed after. On top of that, my husband sends me pictures of the locker room that was under construction and said guys were going on and out while he was changing. Very disappointing experience compared to the many other massage spots in SF.

I…read morereceived a gel manicure from Irina, the founder, and her attention to detail and professionalism were impressive. She took her time, made sure every step was done properly, and the final result looked flawless--clean, precise, and exactly what I wanted. This was my first gel manicure and I got it as part of a trip out of the country where I knew I would want long-lasting results. I was not disappointed -- What stood out most was the longevity and durability of the gel manicure I received. It lasted exceptionally well without chipping, lifting, or losing its shine, which is something I had anticipated and had been looking forward to -- in and out of car services, taxis, airport lounges, hotel hallways, fancy restaurants, etc. Irina's manicure held up beautifully and I felt confident knowing my nails looked their very best for the entire length of my trip. Nail It clearly uses quality products and the application process was done with real care and expertise. Beyond the manicure itself, the overall experience was stellar. The salon was welcoming, the service felt personalized, and the value for the quality received was outstanding. Having the founder herself as my nail technician made the experience feel even more special. I would absolutely recommend Nail It to anyone looking for beautiful, lasting nails and a truly professional manicure experience.

When I got home, I realized the polish was completely uneven and see-through as that he only did two coats. Throughout the process, I was nicked with the electric filing razor that he was using. I am so disappointed I'm going to have to have my nails completely redone wasting more money. Sloppy and unfriendly service. Avoid. Oh and I requested GEL X and they didn't tell me that they were doing hard gel which is completely different and this ruined my set. The first visit was fine service-wise, but I believe I was overcharged. I checked the shellac manicure and pedicure pricing online beforehand, and the final cost did not seem to match. I let it go at the time and assumed there may have been a miscommunication. The second visit was more frustrating. I booked an express manicure that was advertised as a 15-minute service. However, removing my existing polish and putting polish alone took about 30 minutes. Since classic polish also requires drying time, the timing did not align with what was described during booking. The third visit was the most uncomfortable. I booked the express manicure and pedicure and did not realize that gel polish was not included. The service description said cuticle care and polish change, but did not specify what type of polish, so I assumed gel would take the same amount of time as classic polish and be included. Because of that, I did not know I needed to book additional services. The technician repeatedly complained about my booking, both directly to me and in a language she assumed I did not understand. I did understand her. She said the appointment would take longer and that I had booked it wrong, which led to multiple add-on charges for gel polish and gel removal on top of the original $60 service. The frustration seemed to come from the extra time needed, but the online booking descriptions do not clearly explain what is included or excluded. This creates confusion for customers and tension during the appointment. Be aware when booking online that gel polish and gel removal are charged separately and the add-on options are not clearly listed.
