I brought my sweet pup here today after she had an allergic reaction. The staff was efficient, friendly, and I was really impressed with the care they provided. I paid an original amount after her admission which covered the expected services she would need. Upon discharge, they refunded me for services not required which I appreciated very much. The doctor and staff were patient, thorough with discharge instructions, and kindly answered all of my questions. A tiger never changes his stripes. For what is actually the last 30 years, I only come here when its an emergency. The doctors are great when you can get to them, but the front desk staff are mean bull dogs. Condescension is their method of communication instead of learning how to de-escalate situations and get their jobs right. They are the ones in charge, not the ever changing intern doctors. This means they can treat customers how they wish with no repercussions from the hospital and rely on emergencies to keep the business fed. They do not have to be nice if they choose not to be, making passive aggressiveness their first choice always. I will always choose a VCA first, but this place is not as busy due to their rudeness. read more

I will NOT be bringing ANY of my animals to this facility. I spoke with the receptionist and I told her that my dog is having a severe skin allergy to the point where his fur is falling out and he has bald spots all along his back. He's in so much pain and discomfort that he's been crying every time he has to move. I was told that they don't consider that an emergency and to call my regular vet (they can't see him until next week). All I wanted was some sort of relief for him and antibiotics because he has sores all over his back that I don't want to get infected. Apparently they don't consider a dog crying out in pain every time he moves as an emergency and won't see you unless it's something they consider an emergency! I wanted to come here and say this Vet was amazing. My dog started acting really weird late last night . So we immediately called around to a bunch of vets and they were all at capacity & would not accept him . Finally we got through to this clinic and they took our baby's life seriously . Immediately was asking what was wrong and said to bring him in ASAP & to call upon arrival and they would send a vet tech out to assess him . As soon as we got there we called to confirm we were there and they came outside within minutes . Everything was very fast paced and they weren't messing around ! They came out to the car and said our poor baby was critical and rushed him inside . Unfortunately he didn't make it & he will forever be in our hearts . The staff were all so amazing and sympathetic & did everything they could for him . I asked them for a paw print and they were nice enough to find supplies there to give me one . I am so thankful I came across this place. My dog had a massive heat stroke to the point that she stopped breathing. As soon as I got to the clinic they intubated her and started giving her oxygen. I was certain she wouldn't make it the first night. Dr. Townsley did everything he could to heal her. Every night little by little she started to recover. I called every 3 hours to receive an update and the staff was always helpful regardless of how busy they were. Yes, they are extremely pricey but when your animal becomes a family member the cost doesn't matter. They can help you apply for Care credit if you it. I was on vacation when our elderly dog Penny fell ill. We had to find a vet quick. I turned to emergency pet clinic and they were wonderful. Very kind, thorough and accommodation. Because I was away from home, getting my dogs paw print in a week was not an option. The clinic staff went out of their way to make us a pawn print on their own so we could pick it up before leaving the area. This was a surprise and we appreciated it beyond words. Last night we had a emergency with my sweet Louie Blu and taking him here was the right decision! They were so thoughtful and thorough. They kept me fully informed and up to date with what was going on with him and they were upfront and honest about pricing and what NEEDS to be done. I knew he was in the best hands. The whole staff was so helpful and kind. Dr. Bryden was incredible. She was patient with me and described to me exactly what was going on with my pet and told me what she thought was the best course of action. She answered all my questions in detail and did not rush me at all. I know my guy got the best care available and is on the road to recovery. My dog had abdominal surgery at my Vet's office from swallowing foreign objects. A few days this surgery became septic, therefore I took my dog to Emergency Pet Clinic in Temecula for an emergency secondary surgery. Cali is a 10 year old Shih-Tzu and this second surgery was very serious. The entire staff at EPC were great. I could call anytime for updates, getting a detailed answer from the Veterinarian. Cali was hospitalized for 7 days and I spoke with many vet technicians and office staff, all being patience, caring, and helpful. The Veterinarians took many test and scans, providing a plan with the best chance for for my dog to have a full recovery. Thankfully this Emergency Pet Clinic is organized and well staffed!! This place is more worried about getting your money, then giving care to your pet. I brought my dog in this Sunday She was no doubt in trouble and the staff did nothing but work on our emotions the whole time saying things like she's in tremendous pain we need to give her all kinds of serious pain, meds, and antibiotics but never really treated the problem. We came in with a plausible reason for the injury and the vet really didn't wanna hear anything other than it's a rattlesnake bite and so he had us do a useless blood tests. Never really got to the core of the problem he extracted $5400 out of us within a 24 hour period with no real plan for recovery except to offer another culture that might give him the answer to the right anabiotic and of course he wanted to charge $500.00. I said no way. we spent over $5.400.00 in 24 hours and when I pick my dog up, she was a wreck. We rushed her to another local Temecula vet who unbeknownst to me was open Saturdays and Sundays. If I only would've known, I could've saved a tremendous amount of money and I could've saved my pet, a tremendous amount of trauma. I cannot in good faith recommend these people for anything as a matter of fact, I think they should be ashamed of themselves for their money, grabbing actions. The vet we went to for the second opinion, took her time to prescribe proper medication's for my dogs. Failing I and the proportional amount of hydrocodone to help the dog be comfortable and less stressed. We authorize our vet to take x-rays and we were surprised to see how many she took, and search for answers. if you care about your pet please go to another emergency clinic. I honestly wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt but after what happened I wanted to warn people not to go there. No compassion. Ice cold! I brought my dog in for a problem breathing. First thing they did after taking my pup to an oxygen tank (no issue with that), is ask me to sign authorization to treat in any way they see fit. I asked to speak with the doctor first to understand what was happening before signing. After getting irritated they called the doctor who was cold, harsh, and scolding. She was barely willing to explain what was happening After answering some of our questions (with an attitude I might add) I signed for them to proceed. We sat all night waiting for updates. They barely looked at us unless we asked what was happening. 5 hours or so in (around 4 am) they said my pup was not responding to treatment. Yet they continued onwards for another 4 hours with treatment that was not working. Meanwhile, my baby was in box all night by himself and getting worse. Having no idea what was really happening I asked to take my pup to my vet in the morning. The doctor said ok, and said that she was happy my vet was close. I should have known at that point that my pup was in bad shape but I was tired from being up all light, and hopeful I guess. Long story short, my beautiful boy died less than an hour later at my vets office alone in a box. Not once all night (7 hours) did the vet at the emergency hospital come out and tell me the gravity of the situation. No options to consider, no information. $1200 and 8 hours later my dog dies alone in an oxygen tank instead of spending his final hours with his family. It will always haunt me and I blame myself for trusting and not thinking rationally. But I was confused and stressed. In these situations you trust that the vet who is informed would have enough compassion to provide you with all the information you need to make the best decision for you pet. After the shock subsided I called the clinic and spoke to the manager. I let her know about our experience and asked to understand what happened. She said sorry and that she was not a doctor so she could not explain. She told me that she would discuss the issue with the owner who is a veterinarian, and that they will get back to me. I just wanted to understand. After two or three weeks I received a letter in the mail. In short, paraphrasing, the letter said; sorry this happened, hope you come back, and here is $100 gift certificate for when you bring ANOTHER pet to us. WOW!! Nothing will bring my baby back and nothing can undo the experience. But I would not want anyone experience an added layer of pain to an already painful situation. read more

Wait was considerably long, but it is an emergency vet and they take every pets needs into consideration, so if a animal needs an emergency surgery or procedure, they do it on the spot. Knowing that, I didn't mind the wait and felt confident about the treatment my/my grandma's Charlie kitty would receive. Staff and vet were very through and kind to me and my little buddy. Our Cocker Spaniel was refusing to use her left paw, and had stopped eating, unless I hand fed her. I tried to get an appointment with our Vet and they said they didn't have an opening for 6 days, and recommended we take her to one of the ER Clinics. We tried one and they said all their kennels were full and they wouldn't be able to get her in. They gave us a list of several other ER Clinics. We chose EPIC because it was close. Our 5 year old golden suddenly passed away on Friday. The regular vet he sees wasn't opened so I had to find somewhere to take him to be cremated. When I called I spoke to Erika. She was beyond sweet and compassionate of our situation and answered all the questions I needed. When we got there she came out and explained they were full but when they had a room she'd get us in ASAP. We decided to say our good byes in the car and she helped my husband and I with picking out a urn and making sure we had paw prints and everything we need to remember our sweet boy. I love them!! They helped me a lot with my cat and his diagnosis of urinary blockage. I unfortunately had to make the hard decision to put him down due to financially and the prognosis of the problem. They were so caring and so delicate with the situation. Our fur baby has a habit of jumping off our bed and not using her stairs, and that caused us to take a visit to the animal hospital at 2 am. So of course, I called our local hospital and they said it was a 6 hour wait! After doing research, I came across this clinic. I am so glad I did. Dr. Houston and staff were wonderful! From checking in to going home, we had a great experience. Dr. Houston took her time to exam Zoey and answered all my questions I had regarding Zoey's slip disc. When we got home with her, Dr. Houston and her nurse called multiple times to check in on her and her progress. I drove 1.5 hours to this clinic to get a blood transfusion for my cat sunday evening. I arrived at 5:45pm and left at 8pm with approval from the vet. I made them aware of how far I live several times. But for some reason, they waited to get his blood type until he had been there for over 4 hours and I was already home at almost 10pm. They informed me since they didnt have a matching donor there was nothing they could do besides call around but I would have to drive back out there and pick him up and then take him an additional hour away. He is already sick, that's why I drove so far in the first place. The tech and dr told me he would not get fluids or any treatment overnight since I was transferring him the next day. I go to pick him up this morning, they gave him fluids without my permission and against what the Dr Huston told me on the phone. They placed an IV catheter without my permission (which I was fine with since it was going to need to happen anyway) and then charged me for these things I was told he was not getting and did not want. Since they charged me before actually doing their jobs and figuring out they cant treat my cat, I have to wait for a refund which they say they processed but my bank says otherwise. They basically won't do anything to actually help me get my cat healthy. I had to wait an additional 1.5 hours at the new vet today because I had to figure out another $1300 for a deposit since this place still has my money. They are now refusing to actually care about my cat at all. They will not speak to me since I said I will be filing a malpractice lawsuit. The other thing is, they really seem to rely on clients not knowing what is expected with vet care. I have been in the vet industry for a while and this is not how a clinic should be running. My cat may not be able to recover since his blood transfusion was postponed by 20 hours due to the negligence of this clinic. read more

We called prior to bringing in our injured dog. They told us they could take him in. We arrived, sat in the car in the parking lot for over 45 minutes before they even called us. Then it was another 20 minutes before someone came out and asked some questions. They go back inside, then another 20 minutes goes by. my dog is bleeding and throwing up in the car ar this point, and they come out to the car and take our dog into the facility explaining they are going to look him over and have the Dr. do the same. Then another 20-30 minutes later they bring him back out to us and say the Dr cannot see him for 6-8 hours, seriously? It was 10:PM at this point. So obviously not leaving him there, then they told us to go to Walmart and buy a cone for the night and bring him back in the morning, MAYBE they could see him. I asked, can't I buy a cone from you guys? they looked at eachother like it was completely unheard of for anyone to ask this. Then they charged me 25.00 for a 4 dollar cone. Remember, they said we could bring him in...They had no answer when I asked "Why did you tell us we could bring him here?" All of the people there seemed to not know what the other was doing, Needless to say, we never went back.... we went to a wonderful Pet hospital on Temecula parkway the next day instead. They helped our dog, gave him medicine, and spent a good amount of time with us. read more

Last night my 5 month old Weimaraner decided she wanted to eat a bee. Bella instantly started swelling to the point of her eyes being shut and not able to breath well. When I called Emergency Pet Clinic they were very quick to give me the advice that helped in saving my pup. Once I got to the clinic they were outside within minutes taking Bella back to be checked. I was given updates frequently and even when I called because of paranoia the staff was great and being honest and reassuring. I really appreciate you all. Thank you for helping my baby Bella. The only reason I'm giving this emergency vet. 1 star is due to the staff being nice. So let me start out by stating why I took my 4 year old dog here. We woke up at 4am a couple days ago with our dog vomiting blood, and I mean a lot... at 8 am I called my normal vet. About this and to see if they could see lucy. They suggested I take lucy to an emergency vet and recommend Epic emergency pet vet. I got there at 8:30am. Let them know about our dog, filled out paperwork and waited to be seen. About 45 minutes later, I was brought back to a room with Lucy and she said the doctor would be in soon. He came in, gathered info and suggested an x-ray, bloodwork and to do a blood coagulation test. After about 2 hours, I was told they found nothing. The cost...a wopping $1600.00. Yup!! 1600.00 for no information. Then a nurse comes out and hands me a little bag with some medication. I asked her what the medication was. She had to look at the bottle and then told me the name of the medication. I asked her what it was for and how to use it. She had to look at paperwork to figure out out. I basically left feeling that I got completely ripped off. I will never come back here and wished I just went to my regular vet. read more

I thought my dog got bitten by a rattlesnake and took him to this facility. I filled out registration forms online and called from parking lot as soon as we got there. Staff came out, took our 16 year old dog in for evaluation and lab work. We were told we would get a call as soon as they got results. Dr. Montoya called and told us results confirmed rattlesnake venom and explained all treatments. She called us several times with updates. Fortunately our dog responded well and recovered. We greatly appreciated all members at the facility. It was a very busy late Friday night but all were knowledgeable and professional. What surprised us was the fact that we received a significant credit on our credit card since our dog did not require all treatment planned. They're understaffed and the pets pay the ultimate price. I had a very bad experience with them earlier this year. My dog had been attacked by a raccoon and sat in their facility for hours with no care other than basic triage. We finally asked for her back and took her to another Vet where she was tended to right away. Before we left with our wounded dog in my arms, I noticed multiple families crying because this understaffed facility had euthanized their beloved pets. One lady was so overwhelmed with grief that I walked with her to her car. I couldn't help but wonder if their animals could have been saved had they taken them elsewhere. Visited this establishment later last night and left very frustrated and had zero answers. The staff was very unprofessional, rude, condescending, especially the vet doctor. He had no knowledge, except to try and lecture me and question me on my ability to raise my precious puppy. Besides all of this, inside the building, it's smelt horrible as if it had a throw up/diarrhea air freshener. Vet also explained to us that puppies don't know what pain is. However wanted to charge us over $100 for a pain injection but he wasn't having pain according to him??? They took my dog away claiming it was in "triage", however I've never had that happen to me in my previous experiences with previous dogs. They refused to let me see him u til after I was completely discharged. I don't separate from my own kids unless they are in surgery! Him sitting back there in a kennel, scared and without his owner is not okay. The Dr also said come back tomorrow if he is still having the same issues. However, he had no answers so why would I come back here?? I will never be coming back to this establishment nor will I ever recommend it. read more
