It's nerve racking alone to go to the vet, let alone during this COVID crisis, but I was beyond happy with my experience! I've been to CVS two times before & had not such great experiences so we decided to try Emergency Pet Clinic after reading the reviews. All the staff we encountered were wonderful & caring, and Dr. Campos was very through & I felt no pressure at all about cost & services. I feel completely comfortable bringing my babies back to this vet in an emergency when my vet is unavailable! I came here for the first time last Sat 03/28/20 to take my pup for a check up it seemed like she had something in her ear. The staff was really nice they took my pup and told us she just had a skin infection in her ear and that they couldn't find anything, the bill came out to $200 with the check up n medicine. Today I took her to her vet I originally take her to and turns out they found a foxtail in her ear. I'm upset because my poor pup has been having that foxtail for almost 5 days now when we could'be resolved this situation sooner. read more

I don't write reviews ever unless I am either impressed beyond measure or have the worst service I have ever had. It's easy to say this pet clinic has my full support. We had to put down our German Shepherd last night due to uncontrollable seizures and the amount of pain he was in. They made it so professional and easy. The nurse and staff helped me feel okay with my decision reassuring there's nothing else's we could do. My Pet Tia was diagnosed w Pancreatitis and Diabetes in this Hospital. My salute to Dr.Pace & Dr.Fang and all the Drs. & staffs here-they did an awesome job to my minpin 5 yr old dog. She was dying (critically ill) when my family brought her here and they saved her life w this life threatening condition. I would say they did some miracles for treating her well here. Our vet sent us here because our kitten needed emergency care. The receptionist was not very friendly. One of the assistants came up from the back asking if they could give my kItty some medication to make him comfortable for the exam. She spoke very fast and I was upset with the situation so I couldn't really think straight. When the doctor came into thhe room to explain what ours options were we felt better she Was very informative. Where do I begin? I brought my 16 month old Great Dane in for bloody diarrhea and vomiting. First of all, they required a $70 test for Parvo before they'd even see my dog, who is fully vaccinated and not even in the typical 6 week to 6 month age range that Parvo most affects. I wanted him to be seen, so I paid it, and of course it's negative. The vet tech that brought my dog in said the test would take 12-15 min and the doctor would call me to tell me the results. An hour and 15 minutes go by and I don't get any phone call. So I called the clinic and the most RUDE person with the least amount of empathy of anyone to work with animals and their worried owners answered the phone and says "your dog is the only healthy stable dog here. His vitals are normal and he's wagging his tail and hasn't had any bloody poops or vomit here." Among other things that basically said "he doesn't even need to be here" and then further tells me that it will be 4-6 hours before my dog is seen so I may as well go home. Unbelievable. So I left and 15 min later on my way home, the doctor called me (and thankfully she was at least pleasant to speak to) and says she wants to keep my dog for at least 48 hours for fluids because he has had at least 5 episodes of large bloody diarrhea and is vomiting. So going back to the awful tech who told me my dog was FINE?? Someone is lying to me. Either they want my money so they want to keep him there even though he didn't have any bowel movements or they're lying to me about my dogs ACTUAL condition. I work in the ER with humans and if I were to EVER say any of that to someone, I would be sued in a heartbeat. So MAYBE I would have agreed to keep my dog overnight but you IMMEDIATELY lose my trust if there is no consistency in the condition of my dog. These people have no idea what they are doing. So I declined the $3,800 bill and took my dog home. And when I picked him up, he was absolutely petrified as if he was abused. He has never left any other vet that way. And the woman that handed him to me was attempting to make me feel guilty for taking him home by saying he is vomiting severely and has been passing a large amount of clots and that he will need immediate attention soon. My dog was afraid the rest of that night. And he hasn't had a single bloody diarrhea or vomit since that morning and now is eating and drinking again. I will never ever bring my dog to this place ever again. I was forced to come here because everywhere else was full. The lack of care is disgusting and the lies about the condition of my dog is inexcusable. read more

We thought our sweet elderly cocker spaniel was going to die when we rushed her to the Emergency Pet Clinic. She obviously had a fever, was not eating or drinking, and was coughing and gasping for breath. After being examined and taking x-rays and doing bloodwork, she was treated with hydration and antibiotics and improved right away. Now she is doing fine. We were seen right away, also the two other times I've brought my pets here prior we were in and out quickly. My sweet little pug needed to have her eye removed after an accident with my other dog. The surgery was preformed right away and a few hours later I picked her up. The surgery site looked great for having such a major surgery. I had to take my cat a few weeks ago because he was having shallow breathing. They took x-rays of his stomach and told me it could a number of things and they didn't know without running more tests. However, the vet believed he had heart disease and some fluid somewhere in his body I don't remember exactly where. I agreed to get him the shot for the fluid and the vet recommended a prescription pill thought I purchased. The next morning, I was having a hard time feeding my cat the pill. He picked it out of his treats and I could not get him to take it. So I called and told the receptionist I was having a hard time getting my cat to take the pill and I needed help. She said, "let me ask the vet if he needs to take it." I said, "wait a minute. I bought a pill for my cat that he may not need?? The pill was $69." She gets back on the phone and said the vet basically prescribed it as a precautionary because she wasn't sure if he had heart disease or not. I told her I could not believe that I spent $69 on a prescription for my cat that he may or may not need! Then as I was talking to her, I realized the bottle said "long term" prescription. I told her I was never told this prescription had to be taken long term and had I known that I was going to revive TEN pills for $69 on a prescription my cat may or may not need, I wouldn't have purchased the pill. The vet definitely told me my cat had heart disease! So, I ended up throwing the pill away and waisted $69 for nothing. My overall bill came out to $660 for x-rays, a pill he didn't need and one hour in an "oxygen cage." Unfortunately I had to take my cat back to another hospital a week later since the problem was not fixed the first time. Don't waste your money here. I ended up taking my cat to VCA in Murrieta and they were attentive and caring towards his needs. read more

The most awful uncaring staff that have weaponized their so called "relationship" policy against the public. This is an emergency hospital so people bring the beloved pets here in an EMERGENCY, typically because their regular vet is closed and the pet is in a dire situation. This staff expects you to be under zero stress and go along with everything they say and ask no questions....or you have "broken the relationship" and next thing you know they are kicking your pet out and telling you to go elsewhere. In my case I was told to drive away, leave my pet, after being told that she may not be treated for up to 6 hours despite admitting her condition needed immediate care. Huh? Meanwhile, you have to sit in a parking lot, in your car talking on a phone with them, which allows for this immature rude staff to cut your conversation off, placing you on hold several times mid sentence, and then they are offended when you ask them why they are cutting you off and placing you on hold and not answering your questions about your pet! Thus, when I asked what was going on, asked to speak to the vet tech before I can leave, next thing I know my dog is being carried out to my car like a sack of potatoes and an extremely rude vet tech is telling me that "I have broken the relationship". What? Because I asked to speak to someone before I leave about what was going on? This tech's demeanor was beyond rude and annoying and accusatory for someone who had never talked to me or met me and it was clear that who ever was on the phone with me LIED to her about what was going on. Either way, for anyone in the animal medicine community to be so uncaring, officious, condescending, and rude....for them to be more motivated to march out to a car and chuck a suck dog at someone to "break a relationship" rather than have COMPASSION for the sick animal means you are in the wrong profession. It appears that several people working there need to work some where where they do not have to deal with the public and certainly not defenseless suffering animals. I am appalled at these so called animal care workers. The story did not end here.... My husband and I were desperate for my dog to be treated and knew that timing was against us due to her condition so we had no option but to plead with this graceless tech to please see my dog. How twisted is that? Interestingly, the vet, who was quite polite, caring, and exactly what anyone would expect from a professional, called to tell me that treatment would commence immediately and explained everything to me. Exactly what I was asking for when I was treated like crap as explained above. 10 minutes later I am called back...."YOU NEED TO COME GET YOUR DOG, WE DON'T HAVE THE NECESSARY MEDICINE TO PROVIDE THE TREATMENT." Are you kidding me. By now 2.5 hours of treatment time have been wasted putting my dog at risk for abdominal surgery! How do you not have such a common drug immediately on hand at an emergency hospital? You people put me through all of this! WHAT A DAMN JOKE! So, I had to come get my dog, drive her to another emergency hospital, where she was immediately treated, everyone was KIND, PROFESSIONAL, COURTEOUS, and CARING! This place has plenty of complaints. Read them. I found out that they are spot on. The vet here was very polite speaking to me on the phone, but the rest of the staff was a total misery and that is the last thing anyone needs to deal with when your beloved pet is in a dire heath situation. I would really think about taking your dog elsewhere. They are on a severe money grab but that is not the worst of it. My dog got bit by a rattlesnake and we immediately took him there. We waited for three hours and finally I just took him back from them and took him to a more professional vet. Plus, the money grabbers were very rude and had not a nice word to say. Avoid this money grabbing place, they are a joke. I would hire a new office manager, she has a serious attitude. Took my dog over to the wellness center on Clinton Keith. Totally different there. They were super concerned that the other clinic had not given him the anti venom and said instantly bring him. We did, super kind, super concerned, took him back and said we will get the paper work going but we need to get him the anti venom right away. Seriously, these guys get it. I recommend CVS in Murrieta instead, and here's why: this run-down Temecula "ER" clinic turned my kitten away over the phone after I told them she had ingested something poisonous to her (prescription pills), they gave me some poison control hotline number to call instead, only for the poison control to tell me to get my cat to a vet ASAP! So I call this lazy "ER" clinic back only for them to very reluctantly agreed to see my kitten, only after they, of course, placed me on hold, wasting more time, while my kitten's heart could be failing. When they finally agreed to see her and I finally get there, they take forever to get to the door and are instantly extremely rude and unprofessional, just glaring at me through the door right from the get-go.. And then this grumpy older gal named Lynette finally makes her way to the door, only to berate me angrily on filling out their online form before they can see my kitten. People like this should not be working in emergency clinics, such a terrible attitude, she was far the rudest most unprofessional employee I have ever met -- zero sympathy or compassion with what me and my kitten were going through. It is obvious to me that she hates her job. Go ahead and use COVID as an excuse to be lazy, slow, and extremely rude to people and animals that need help. This is the worst place you could ever take to animal if you want it to survive. My dog had been poisoned and they took $1200 from me said it would be another $200 to save her and when I asked if they'd take payments they said no stopped treatment and euthanized my dog. I didn't have the money for the disposal fee so they put her in a trash bag had me pull around back and put her in my car to take home and burry. The staff is fake and one girl in particular was twacked our on something talking a mile a minuet she wouldn't look us in the eyes when talking to us and couldn't stop fidgeting. Very pushy to get the max payout. They make the family members sit in car while they come out to your car without wearing a mask. This makes no sense. The tech asked if our dog ingested Marijuana or rat poisoning. I told them no and we have no other of our 7 animals with the symptoms. Finally the vet spoke to me with the same questions. I asked for an estimated amount and was told between $300-$400 just to get a call saying it's $1,100-$2,400 because he need an IV and catheter which I know isn't needed!!! The service was terrible and exhausting. I had my daughter take our small dog to EPC at 10 am on Sunday because he was hacking & coughing severely and he'd collapsed. Being the only one there the wait time was 2hr just to be seen. The reception was not helpful. After waiting 4 hours and watching a repeat of The Price is Right from 30 yrs ago my daughter was asked to leave our pet there for x-rays and blood work. Calling the clinic to see if my pet was ready the hold time was 6-15 mins for each of the 6 times I had called to get answers(nothing until 730pm). Got there around 830pm to pick him up. The night shift had no clue what the day shift did. After waiting a while to speak with the Dr. I actually had to ask for my dog, the receptionist lied on us in the process; I didn't receive my dog until close to 10pm. They added extra charges that no one knew about or what for. The crew showed no compassion, they were rude, and unprofessional. My dog was returned to us extremely thirsty, hungry and upset. So, I brought my cat in which had blood in both eyes. I understand they can get busy with emergencies. No one would even say it will be a couple of minutes till we can get to you. 25-30 minutes went by and my kitty started bleeding from her rectum. I checked in the lobby and no receptionist or anyone else. I literally had to call the clinic to let them know. They told me "we will get to you when we can". I dont usually write reviews and I understand this might have ( or not ) been unusual for them. I saw them going into the back and saw at least 4 personnel sitting on stools not really doing anything. Would highly recommend you come here over CVS Emergency Clinic in Murrieta. They are way more affordable and care about your pet versus payment. First, I want to say my experience has been overall positive. My dog did end up passing away but it was after many effort to help her. The reason I rate it 4 stars is because how they do cremation. My dog had experienced a seizure late at night so I called here. The person who answered, Thomas (?) was incredibly nice and helpful. I appreciated him getting my dog in fine. They sent her off with medicine which did help. The second time, her legs started declining and she couldn't walk. They ran tests and she had numerous tumors everywhere and her health was declining rapidly. My dog already had cancer once and since she was unable to walk, I knew she couldn't fight and I decided to put her down. They were very nice and respectful when I came in for that, and I asked for cremation. Mind you, this was my first time ever putting an animal done. I was reassured I would receive her ashes in an urn and since I already was in distress, I said ok. I knew I should had done more research, but how was I suppose to know? This clinic does INDIVIDUAL cremation, not private. That means your animal will be placed in the same incinerator with other animals. You will not get 100% of them back. I wish they explained that. We as pet owners are already emotional and aren't thinking bright as we put our dog down. I wish I was told that they would be with other animals so I could had went somewhere else and did private cremation. I want 100% of her, not 95% and some random. They just had me mark off and went on with the day. Please consider telling your patients this so we know what we're doing. As well, I was informed I'd be getting ashes in a couple of days and when I called today, they said two weeks. read more

I am writing this with a heavy heart as my almost 14 year old pug that has grown up with me since I was 6 years old has been put to sleep on Monday, June 24th. Now let me explain why I am so resentful towards this place that should be shut down. Choowee, my pug, has never really had any health complications. However, just about a week ago he started having trouble being able to urinate and poop. He became incontinent. He usually loved going on walks, but started showing physical inability to do so anymore. We didn't know what was wrong. We figured he had a UTI, so my parents took him to this place to confirm the problem. They wanted to go to a different vet that we had visited before to put down one of my past dogs, but he was not there at the time. The vet at this Emergency Pet Clinic made my parents pay $1k to run lab tests just for a MISDIAGNOSIS. They said my dog had kidney stones. He didn't. When he came home, he became worse and worse. He was unable to walk and was screeching in pain Sunday night. On Monday morning, I had never seen him in a worse condition, he was panting and it was clear that he was not doing any better. We took him to the original vet my parents wanted to see the first time, and the vet actually took the time to look through the x-rays and documents that the vet at this place took. The vet explained how he didn't have any kidney stones, but he had a neurological problem that affected his spine which explains why he was not able to walk anymore. The surgery he offered to perform on Choowee had a survival rate of about 30%. It was the hardest decision we have ever had to make, but we didn't want to put Choowee through any more pain and complications. We knew it was time to say goodbye. This place scammed my parents for money, misdiagnosed my precious dog, and let him suffer a few more days than he needed to. The worst part? They called and asked to see how he was doing days after we put him down after having the nerve to not even diagnosis him right. They also sent my mom a survey to rate how her experience was. Losing my Choowee was already hard enough, but now my parents have to deal with the fact that this vet took money from them just to have my dog needing to be put down in the end. This vet does not your have pet's health as their #1 priority. All they care about is money. If you cant afford a $3,000 vet bill at 3 am then you're out of luck. They'll either put your dog down or take your dog and not give it back even if you come up with the funds. Heartless. A payment plan should always be an option. read more

My dog suddenly became paralyzed on her back legs and I was going to take her to the hospital down in San Marcos where the amazing doctors there saved many of my animals' lives, but it was further away and she needed immediate help. I carried her to the car, went to Temecula from Menifee, and rushed her in. It was quiet, and there were a couple people sitting there. I was frantic (who wouldn't be when your dog is suddenly paralyzed) and told the girl my dog was paralyzed and couldn't walk. They put me in a room and I literally waited 20 minutes before the doctor even came into the room, and they took my dog prior to that and didn't look at her for the entire 20 minutes. When they did finally look at Bella, I heard them hurt her in the back room and cry out very loudly and growl. Bella never hurt so much as a fly and never bites...ever. So I knew they hurt her right away, but I couldn't go back there to see what was going on. As assistant came in and talked to me and I told her she had a bite mark and thought she might have gotten bitten by a tick or something. I was guessing, and she said it could be her back, but that the doctor will come in. I waited and waited and waited. When Dr. Godfrey finally came in, I told her I heard Bella yell out and growl, and she said, "We were trying to see what was wrong with her, but she won't tell us." What the heck? She won't "tell you." Since when do dogs speak in human language? She told me to calm down, and I told her I'd been waiting a long time and she told me, "We are busy with other patients." While I was waiting, the two people sitting out there were more concerned for my dog and asked me what happened and said they would be very upset, too. There were no emergency surgeries going on, or I would have understood why it took so long to see a 3.5 year old dog who was suddenly paralyzed on her back legs. Dr. Godfrey asked me what happened and started writing down when Bella ate breakfast. (Really, her breakfast?) I said, "Do you even have the means to treat her at this facility?" Dr. Godfrey said, "If she needs back surgery, no, we do not. If you'd like to take her and go somewhere else, I won't charge you for the visit." What? Charge me for what? Making me feel like my caring about my dog and being upset and hurting her further was going to cost me a fee? I said, yes, I will take my dog down to San Marcos. Then, I recognized one of the girls who works at a new vet I was trying out in Menifee, and the doctor there (Dr. DeMeglio) works here part-time. She had nice things to say to me and even got me directions and the phone number down to San Marcos. I carried Bella but could see her front legs were now completely stiff and she couldn't move them anymore. I knew something happened in the back that further caused damage to Bella. I left at that point and put my poor dog through needless pain at this "clinic" and she had gotten much worse. By the time I got down to the best specialty hospital on the planet (http://www.vshsd.com/), they brought me right into a room and the doctor came right in. Within 60 seconds, he knew what to test for and knew what the problem was. She needed immediate surgery or she would never walk again. It wasn't cheap, but Dr. Stevenson saved my dog's life! She was called in and did surgery right away. Bella is now walking again and http://www.vshsd.com/ saved her life. The staff there is nothing short of amazing and they have the latest facility. It's not an old facility that lacks equipment for emergencies like Bella's situation and has highly skilled veterinarians. A couple weeks later, I got a letter from the vet (Dr. DeMeglio) in Menifee who works at this clinic part-time saying she no longer wants me to be a patient at their clinic, and she was treating my other dog for diabetes. She also refused to write me a prescription for insulin even though I paid for many visits there. It's all about the money for Dr. DeMeglio who works at this clinic, and unless your dog has a runny nose, I would never take my dog or cat to this clinic under any circumstance. Do not take your animal to this place it is the worst place I've ever been to! They had missed treated my dog there! When I picked him up he smelled like a dead dog I kid you not he smelled foul when I picked him up I had to give him a bath to get the odor off of him he was scared to death when I picked him up the fees were outrageous! My dogs temperament has changed completely he is not the same dog he was when he went in and came home I am sad to say I don't know what happened to him there but he had some traumatic experience! Whenever we get in the car now he shakes and tremors. I wish I knew what happened to him that day that he was there! It saddens Me to know that people miss treat animals every day and I don't know what they did to my dog but he has never been the same he is eight months old and now needs some special treatment and needs some special training because now he barks and tries to bite everybody who handles him. Very RUDE doctors and unprofessional work. These people half ass stapled my dogs wound closed, the Staples started falling out a few days later so we took him back and dr. Swarwoski told me in these exact words that I get what I payed for and to not "bitch" about the work that was done because I couldn't afford the other offered option and then hung up on me. I was charged $500 for 11 staples and to be treated horribly. Now my dog is at home with a gaping hole that they would not fix. Please do not take your animals to this place. Very unprofessional. My dog got a piece of a toy lodged in her gums and thankfully the groomer noticed it and let me know. Unfortunately, my usual vet was closing in 15 minutes and they recommended that I come here. I'm so thankful I did. I did have a bit of a wait, but that's to be expected at an emergency clinic. Especially while there's a pandemic. Everyone was kind and friendly, and I noticed how caring the staff was with all the other emergencies that came in. I will hopefully not be back (because I want my dog healthy and hopefully no more emergencies) but this is where I'll go if anything else happens! read more

I have been to this clinic now 4 times. Two different dogs and I can honestly say this is the worst hospital I have ever been to. The waits are excruciating. They over charged, and they have terrible communication. Need I say more. The nurses are uneducated, doctors are understaffed. I brought my dying 2 year old Labrador in. He was vomiting and in & out of consciousness. We showed up sunday night about 10:30. Due to budget issues I could not pay for service tell that Wed. when I got paid. The receptionist told me I could post date a check 3 days...which would land on Tuesday....I assured her I would wait tell midnight (1.5 hours away) so I could fall into the new day..thus allowing my postdated check to be cashed on wed. She then told me to bring my dog back at 8 AM the following day becuase she did not want to except my check at midnight????? They would not see him that night even though they are 24 hours!!!! We left and found another/better 24 hour vet. My lab had ate some rocks and was going to die. The new vet performed emergency surgery and was able to save his life by a hair.
