I was so glad that Emergency Plumbing was called by my home warranty insurance. They really did a good job re-routing the pipes in my house when I had a slab leak in my house. I have had the worst experience ever with any contractor of any type. The only reason I had to use them was my home warranty company First American home warranty insisted on using them and it has been nothing but a nightmare!! Our water heater broke on April 22 and was supposed to be covered under our home warranty but they found every excuse to try to extract money from us for things that were not even necessary. They seem to know how to manipulate the home warranty system in order to screw the customer out of his money. They were very rude, had horrible customer service and I still don't have a replacement heater after 2 weeks. Going to hire a real plumber so my 3 young children can take a warm bath. Had a serious drain problem. I had been up all night bailing water from the sink waiting for another company to show up for a call back. (As this was a reoccurring problem) Bernard McCurry showed up at 7:00 pm that evening and worked 2 hours disassembling the entire kitchen drain system. He cleared the line and rebuilt the system and refused payment from me, saying that the other company would be billed. He could have billed me AND the previous company & I'd have been none the wiser! A Test of Patience This is my first time dealing with this company and given a choice, I would never choose them on purpose. They were forced upon me by my god-awful warranty provider, First American. As hard as I tried, I could not convince FA to assign me to someone else. The plumber, the guy who does the real work, was friendly and competent but some the office personnel are the biggest bunch of arrogant ignorant snobs I have ever encountered. Here's what started this tirade. Warranty did not cover some pieces and parts to bring the my water heater replacement up to code. With $400 of out of pocket expenses, I tried asking for detailed explanation for what I'm spending my money on. It was like pulling teeth! Every little item, I had to ask 3 times for a layman's explanation because they either assume that the whole world knows what he's talking about or they are in a hurry to get me off the phone. After a short time, I just got the feeling they want me to just shut up and pay the money. Every damn item, I was given a line of "this is a required part to bring it up to code". THAT WASN'T THE QUESTION, DAVE!!!! I also tried to ask how to pay that $400. More teeth pulling! Do I pay the office? Do I pay the plumber? They said to pay the plumber. After more questions they finally said to pay when the work is done. Then I had to ask what form of payment is accepted. After a blank moment of silence on the phone, I rephrased the question. Do they accept credit cards? Cash? Check? Chickens? or What? FINALLY, he answered cash or check. This is a prime example of their lousy customer service. Instead of freely and clearly giving useful information, you have to pry it out of them. Appointment scheduling? Almost doesn't exist. For any visit, you have to set aside pretty much the whole day. They want a 4 hour window even to just stop by for an estimate. "it's policy and within the guidelines of the contract". More snobbery. What I thought was supposed to be an 8am appointment turns out to be an appointment from anywhere from 8 to 11. Oh, they were doing ME a big favor by providing a 3 hour window instead of 4. They do NOT communicate clearly and get huffy when you call them out on it. It's YOUR fault, not theirs. My 8 to 11 window . . . I got a call a 10:35 saying he hopes to be here in 30 minutes. You just know that they are purposely delaying my service because I complained to the office earlier. So I lost a FULL day of work. After the job was completed and the plumber left, I noticed a smell. I'm assuming that this is a new burner smell and might be normal. When I called the office the next day to get expert advice, I got Dave instead. He didn't seem to even understand my question. Smell? What possible smell? Then he pretended to know something and answered "maybe 2 weeks for the smell to go away". He didn't have a clue. He did ask if I wanted a technician to come look at it. I declined because I didn't want to take another full day off work again because they can't seem to control any kind of schedule. I don't see how a company can stay in business treating people this way. I want to give them a negative 20 stars. This company has absolutely NO bedside manner. We (me and First American) are paying them to treat the customer like trash. "Just shut up and give me your money. We don't have to explain anything." I will never ever endorse or recommend this company to anyone ever. read more

I had service done from emergency plumbing on a leak in the wall which i thought was from my washer that is on its last leg. i had an appliance company out from my warranty company to fix it. After they checked my washer they found no leak from it but did advise I will be needing a new one soon. He said for me to callback the warranty company to send out a plumber. They assigned me to emergency plumbing and I called them. The person on the phone was very helpful. He asked if the appliance tech at least shut the water off to prevent any damage. I told him no, and he walked me through to turn it off until they got to my house. Thank God it was only leaking on my concrete floor! The tech arrived on time to my house and was courteous and neat for being a plumber. I showed him where the problem was and found that the dripping was from one of the shutoff valves to my washer. He also said would be good to replace the other one too. He called the warranty company to tell them what he found, and came back and told me will be taking care of it today. Did his job and replaced the leaking shutoff valve. He called me out and showed me what was done to fix the leak. He then recommended a few things to be replaced before this happens again. I told him thanks for the advise. Jay was awesome and knowledgeable and knew what needed to be done. Thanks again Jay! Will be using Emergency Plumbing in the Future for sure! read more

Sent over by the home warranty for leak coming from upstairs bathroom. It was placed as an emergency call but they said they could only come in the next day: so not an emergency call company. The person who came referred me to a restoration company owned by the same owner (so far they haven't even touched the leak). The person who came started off with wanting to file an insurance claim before even looking at anything. Definitely into insurance fraud. They needed an asbestos check since it was an 1979 house which I had done and cleared the same day. They set up an appointment for 2 days later and just did not show up!!! They were rude on the calls made to the office and never once called me back. They made false claims with the home warranty regarding asbestos (I have tests proving otherwise from the company they recommended). In the end my plumber fixed the bracket under the shower pipe which is where the leak was for 200 bucks and I was done. These folks are definitely a scam, please beware. Also I think it is all subcontractors, and the main owner or office has no clue what they are doing. read more

This is the plumbing company the home warrant company sent out when our hot water heater died and it took them 3 weeks to replace it! Then they installed it and it immediately started leaking the next day. When I called back to complain they told me they couldn't get someone out there for another 2 days. I am still chasing them around for the permit and inspection card. We paid for the permit and they didn't bother getting it until after the work was complete. I had to threaten to call the BBB and the state licensing board before I finally got the permit. I am still trying to get the inspection card from them and all they will tell me is sorry, we don't have it. read more

These guys are quick and responsive. We had a water heater go bad and without hot water for a day or so waiting for the insurance to respond. They check on the status for me and then squeezed us in their schedule after 5 so that we wouldn't need to go another day without hot water. Pick them for sure! read more

We asked for a reasonable explanation but never got one from Brian or the home warranty. The worst experience ever! I was assigned this company to fix my hot water heater by a home warranty company. The hot water heater worked for two weeks and then stopped working again. I called the company back and the person who answered the phone was rude and let me know that I wasn't their only customer. Despite the fact that the work done two weeks ago did not fix the problem, they were only willing to offer a four hour window to fix the hot water heater, making it very inconvenient for us. I asked to speak to the supervisor and the person on the phone was not willing to let me speak to the supervisor. Avoid. read more

I had them out for service to clear a clogged pipe and backup. The plumber arrived but was very rude and belligerent upon arrival. Rather than come in the house to look and check to see what the issue was he immediately began complaining that the mainline was inaccessible, he wasn't climbing in the crawlspace and that he wasn't doing the job because it wasn't covered under the home warranty. I asked him to leave because of his attitude. The owner called the next day and showed that he cared about his customers, and that corrective action was being taken. For the most part the experience wasn't pleasant but it does mean something that they called to acknowledge the issue and hopefully this person gets retrained or finds a more suitable non public facing career. read more

We needed our shower fixed and not only did they provide matching and high quality replacement parts for the shower, they also had the courtesy to explain to us how they were going to fix it. The guy who came out (Bernard) to the house was extremely professional and knowledgeable. I actually had to squabble with my home warranty company to assign another plumbing job at my house to Emergency Plumbing Services. They had assigned the other job in questions to Accurate Plumbing who were absolutely horrible. Hopefully someone reading this will give these guys a try over the horribly named "accurate plumbing." I"m going to go write them a negative review right now. It sounds like everyone basically has the same frustrating issue with their home warranty as I'm having with mine. I called them and demanded to have my issue assigned to this company because they were a thousand times better than that other place. These home warranty companies need to do some quality assurance research before they send just anyone out to your home. Emergency Plumbing Services was sent out by my home warranty company "American Home Shield", to investigate a plumbing leak. Well...it turned out to be more than I thought. Jay and Joseph determined that my leak was in the concrete slab - what is called a "slab leak". The plumbers were quit experienced, very knowledgeable and helpful. They did an excellent job in restoring water service to my kitchen and hall bathroom, updating me as they went along. We were referred to Emergency Plumbing Services through our home insurance company. While we didn't have an issue with how our garbage disposal was working, it was making a loud noise. They sent our Jay, who is the best!!! He had come out before to clear the garbage disposal and even went outside to make sure it was cleared all the way. He is very professional, honest and so helpful. He explained what we had to do to get the item out of the disposal as they didn't carry those specific tools.
