Had a sudden shower leak in an upstairs bathroom on a Sunday night. Water flooded our kitchen through the ceiling .I called Carmel Valley Plumbing and spoke with Jeff Monday morning. Jeff came out immediately that morning, identified the leak and initiated repairs. Knowing we would have to file a claim with our homeowners insurance because of the moisture damage on both floors, Jeff then began to perform mitigation of the wet drywall in the bathroom and our downstairs kitchen. He was very efficient and took all the necessary photos and wrote up his report for submission to our insurance company to open a claim for reimbursement. Within about four hours everything was sealed off and dryers were in place for the next 72 hours. The entire time Jeff was in constant contact with myself and my wife Guiding us through the steps we needed to file our claim. He also worked with our insurance company adjuster. We were able to get 100% of our cost for repairs covered because of his effectiveness getting the proper documentation to our insurer. Without hesitation if I ever need any kind of plumbing work in the future, CARMEL Valley Plumbing is on my speed dial. I cannot recommend them enough. Honest, excellent service skills, straight shooter, very fair pricing. I had used Carmel Valley Plumbing once before in the past regarding a drop in water pressure to my house. A service rep from ASI Heating and Plumbing told me I had to cut a mainline and replace a shut-off and a pressure regulator valve. The estimate was almost $1500!. On a recommendation of a neighbor, I called CVP and Jeff came to my house. In 15 minutes he did an inspection of the lines and valves. Explain to me his in process the entire time. Jeff then went outside to the side of the house and turned open a water valve.....lo and behold my water pressure was back to normal again. Apparently our gardener or someone must have partially closed the valve. He saved me from a very expensive and unnecessary repair! More important to note is that Jeff did not charge me anything for his 15 minutes of time and his service call. That's the type of company Carmel Valley Plumbing is. High integrity and very fair. Later on I learned how many of my neighbors have used Carmel Valley Plumbing at their homes. All with the same positive results. What a rip off artist! I had a leak on a Saturday that I expected to cost more than normal. To their credit, they came out and repaired the pinhole leak, but at a charge of $1,100.00 for 1.5 hours of work. They then wanted to charge me $5,500.00 to "dry out the water". Instead, I went to Harbor Freight and bought too fans (7,000 cfm each) for $300 total along with a $30 bottle of mold cleaner and in 4 days, had a fully dried out, mold free attic. They try to scare the unsuspecting homeowner with the fear of mold. Don't fall for it! In addition, my pipes are now knocking and they refused to fix this issue they caused. read more

I had a leak and I called carmel valley plumbing, Jeff was helpful on the initial phone call and helped me understand where the problem was coming from. I was able to correct the leak myself, but since I told him there was water that had leaked to my garage, he said it was needed for him to come and take a look, which is still understandable. He did not quote me for any price, which is somewhat my fault, I should have asked him beforehand. He showed up the next day, took a couple of measurements to assess the water damage. For 5 minutes of just looking and taking the measurements he charged me $140. He was pushy to make an appointment with his contractor to fix the water damage, to the point that he called them on the spot and was trying to make me make an appointment with them right then and there. I told him that I will contact a contractor on my own and I appreciate the help. From that day on, I am getting at least one phone call a day, from different contractors, asking about the water damage!!!! This guy has gone out there and has shared my information with a bunch of his contractor friends and now they are calling me everyday!!! Very unprofessional and would not recommend him! He might be very knowledgeable with quick response times, but he is definitely unprofessional and overcharges you for what he does. read more

This is how I was overcharged by carmel valley plumbing. I had a leak in my shower knob, so I called up several plumbers on yelp with good rating. all other plumbers couldn't do same day appointment except for carmel valley plumbing. guess that should have been the canary in the coal mine. anyway I really appreciated they were able to come on the same day. they guy assessed the situation and told us he was not sure what the problem was, but it could be very serious. He might have to knock down the wall and it's gonna cost a fortune. BUT he also said if he could fix it without knocking down the wall it'd cost much less ,$385. So after listening to him anyone would believe that $385 didn't seem like a lot. So he got to work and within less than 20 min the job was done! WHAT? apparently the only thing he had to change is the pressure balance spool. oh boy I am sure he knew the minute he saw it. So a 20-min job with a $20 part cost me $385. I guess zero knowledge in plumbing does come with a price. Lessons learned, trust lost and never will I deal with this company again. read more

I called on Monday about a weird sound coming from our bathtub whenever we would flush our toilet. Jeff called me back later that day to understand the problem more. Instead of coming out and incurring a visit charge he offered a simple solution to try at home because he was pretty sure he knew what the issue was and it didn't require a plumber. He of course said to call back if that didn't fix it and he would come out. I did what he said and it totally took care of the problem! How many plumbers do you know that would tell you what to do to fix an issue and lose out on a service call? I thought the least I could do was to post a review here so people would know this is a good place to do business with! Disappointed, the other positive reviews don't seem to accurately depict this service based on our experience. We had CV Plumbing fix our upstairs bathroom piping that had been giving us problems and reseal another bathroom's toilet. First, the prices seemed overpriced compared to others we have used at a former house. Second, the work was average at best. The area worked on was left dirty and it did not appear that the sealant and materials/items used were of any decent quality (a few wks later we have had issues with the toilet seal leaking and due to the water damage it stained our stone flooring). Third, the plumber was quite unprofessional and spoke about numerous inappropriate topics (foul language, politics, and other inappropriate topics I don't wish to state here again). It left me feeling very uneasy. I would definitely not use them again and do not recommend them to others. read more

Called Jeff after our water heater starting leaking and he came out same day and brought the other people we needed to get things fixed, including the people to dry out the water and repair the walls. Jeff was excellent. We had a minor issue with the water flow to our refrigerator water dispenser, but it was a big problem for us because it was taking several minutes just to dispense a glass of water. Contacted Jeff Isber After reading great reviews on Nextdoor. We had a kitchen faucet that was leaking, not functioning properly. We had a handyman check it out who was not able to fix the problem. Contacted one of the BIG corporate plumbing companies and was quoted $250 just to come out ($350 if it was that night)! Then, I found Jeff as a local plumber for my neighborhood. Called him and got an immediate response. He arrived within 30 minutes to diagnose the source of a pipe leak. He methodically went through the pipe path and after a few drywall cut outs, found it! I thought I'd try this plumber because he's local, practically a neighbor. I had a small, slow drip in the kitchen ceiling. Another plumber mentioned cutting out the drywall around the area, repairing the pipe and then replacing with new drywall. Went with Jeff Isber of Carmel Valley Plumbing because he said he would do it all, including the drywall. He showed up the next morning with a Flood Control crew he had phoned without my consent. I told him we had no flood, but he said not to worry, my insurance would pay for everything. Without checking out the drip, he had already decided that 1) all the kitchen cabinets needed removing (even though they weren't near the leak) 2) the ceiling in the kitchen and the dining room needed to be removed and 3) the flooring replaced. I kept repeating that there was no flood!! He was very insistent, using scare tactics of future mold, etc. I had to ask him and the Flood Control company several times to leave my home. Our neighbor's water heater leaked and damaged their beautiful hard wood floors. Since all of the houses on our street were built at the same time (about 2004), we feared that the same thing would happen to us. I called Jeff, and he came over within 15 minutes to take a look at our water heater. He explained our options clearly, priced everything out, and recommended that we wait a few months to replace it. It was obvious that Jeff is familiar with the houses in our area (Pardee homes) and the parts and systems that they use. We soon thereafter had another plumbing issue. This time it was related to our kitchen sink. Sure enough, Jeff came over quickly, diagnosed and explained the problem and the solution.
