My fiancé was having a terrible tooth ache and it ended up being an infected wisdom tooth. She was very nervous approaching the expected oral surgery. That said, it went wonderful as much as a tooth surgery can be. One thing to objectively speak of for a review is the outside of the building looks sketch. Inside the building however was clean and just fine. That said, the staff here need to be recognized. The surgeon, Dr Strong, is excellent. He was attentive to pain, gave good information, and personable. Also we want to both shine light to Jackie, the hygienist/dental assistant. Jackie, my fiancé, and I were chatting during the Intake process and leading into the dental work. This friendly face and demeanor calmed nerves and emboldened the situation. They got me in last minute after a night of horrendous pain on a tooth I just had a crown put on 6 months ago (elsewhere). Dr. Martens is a gem, so personable and explains things really well and took the time to even massage my jaw after my procedure. The assistants were really on-it too, very professional! They might have to get better on answering patients phone calls or maybe update their hours schedule IF they did changed it. I've been calling for my partner many times and location hasn't answered once and mind you that I called them around 19:36 and on website they are open until 21:00. Since we live in Portland OR unfortunately we were too late to try to come in so we did looked through again (while waiting at ER for pain killer) we were hoping to get in Vancouver location as soon as possible. But no luck and my partner is just struggling with pain. Get a new customer services agent who are consistent on answering patients phone calls or might as well wasting money on them not doing their job. read more

Went in to get a tooth pulled. Starting out it was 5x the amount as my last tooth pull. Gave me anesthesia that didn't work so they had to reschedule. Reschedule and was told to bring $150 extra for the NOS next time. Forgot the $150 due to being on pain meds for tooth pain and showed up and they refused to see me with the extra $150 even refusing to take payment over the phone or set up an auto pay. Had them return all money and now stuck with a broken tooth after a week of reschedule. read more

Best dentist experience I've ever had in my life. Called late with an infected/broken tooth and they fit me in next day. I was terrified and extremely nervous, but Brianna made me feel more than comfortable and helped me through the whole ordeal. The doctor was also extremely nice and professional, and did her best to take care of me with as little pain as possible. I have been going to Gentle Dental for many years, but when one of my front teeth developed resorption, I spent a few hundred dollars for three doctors to look at it and tell me I needed a $4,600 implant. I didn't want to spend that kind of money on one tooth, so I went to Emergency Tooth Doctor. Dr. Pham told me he could fix it with a root canal and a post and crown for $2,100. A week later I was in his chair, and Dr. Pham found that he could avoid the root canal and crown and put in a post and filling for just $467. Notice that this is one TENTH what Gentle Dental wanted to charge me, and it was all done in one visit. Needless to say, I won't be going back to Gentle Dental, Dr. Pham is Phantastic, and I will be using him from now on! Thank you Emergency Tooth Doctor!!!!!!! read more

I really hate to write a bad review, but seriously! My husband was in so much pain on Friday from a tooth that this is the only place we could get him in on the spur of the moment. He went in and saw Linda Ridder who diagnosed him with a cracked tooth, and said he needed a crown, to be done in a couple stages...to the tune of $1400. Fortunately (although we didn't think so at the time), she couldn't do the work because his BP was too high that day, so we rescheduled for the following Sunday. She gave him some pain killers (which was really nice for her to do) and the pain went away enough for him to manage it. The pain was still manageable by Sunday, so we canceled the Sunday appointment and then were able to get him in to his regular dentist the following Wednesday. Turns out it was NOT a cracked tooth needing a crown, but a cracked filling which can be fixed for only $300 by his regular dentist. So this review isn't meant to be mean or hateful, but just to alert people to be careful before just going with what the dentist here says. read more

The receptionist went above and beyond to accommodate me and they were able to see me the same day that I called. My wife was in agonizing pain due to a filling falling out weeks prior and an infection that started. She could barely talk and the whole side of her face was extremely painful. I called Emergency Tooth Dr ( Vancouver location) around 1pm and left a message. got a call back by 3pm telling me they could get her in by 630 that night! they cleaned out infected area and prescribed pain meds and antibiotics till the rest of the work can be completed. They were very friendly and helpful and gentle. Overall extremely thankful for them. read more

The absolute WORST most PAINFUL dental experience of my entire life. She was unable to anesthetize me properly and did not wait any time between injecting me and starting her dental work - resulting in excruciating nerve pain. Her response to the nerve pain was to try and convince me it was just "pressure" and to apologize and continue working on me. Shortly after stating my nitrous, I heard her say to her hygienist that they have been having problems with the nitrous all day. I subsequently had a reaction to the nitrous - shaking chills. Her response to my symptoms was to put the x-ray shield over me to warm me up. I told her and her staff I had severe TMJ and could only open my mouth a limited amount. Her response - to ignore the information, put a bite plate in to forcibly open my mouth as wide as possible in order to shove as many instruments as possible into my mouth . In addition to the poor care, Dr. Ridder and her staff were very unprofessional (had to listen to them talk about two dentists who had affairs with their dental staff). I would NEVER recommend Dr. Ridder or her staff to anyone(Vancouver 4th Plain office) read more

I've never had a dentist or anyone treat me this way. I don't believe she cares about bedside manner nor your pain, only how fast she can do her work in your mouth and be done. Before she finished stitching my gums closed she was already looking at and talking to another patient across the open, not at all private room. She didn't wait for the numbing gel to have time to set in, or speak to me as more than a mouth, or even stop to check on me as I literally cried. I had never previously cried at a dentist office before, especially for something as common as a wisdom tooth check up for dry socket. I will never be returning to this office or any of its affiliates, I'd rather live with my dental emergency before enduring this torture again. They've scared me deeply. I went to a different dentist the very next day because as well as poor social skills, the work wasn't done correctly. My new oral surgeon was so kind and gentle it shocked me. He didn't pull and grab at my cheeks and poke me painfully with a blunt end of Q tip into my painful sores. I will have nightmares about this visit. read more
