Very disappointed today was supposed to be free ice cream day due to the first day of Spring. Upon going to Emerson Dairy Queen, we were told they do not honor that deal!!:*( very poor business. No wonder this place has a crappy rating. Brought a 4 and 2 year old here for ice cream and two girls behind the counter seemed like they had attitudes and didn't want to be there. It's not even 12:30 in the afternoon. Then they didn't even have a kids cup where another Dairy Queen trip for two kids was less than $4. This trip was $7.45. I've been to DQ about 5 times with my kids. This one was bad enough to warrant a bad review. Ice cream trips with kids should be fun. The best Dairy Queen in the area and better then most I've been too, in my opinion. They offer soft and hard ice cream options, they have specialty trees and cakes you can Oder for special occasions. There are some outdoor seats but this is not an eat in Dairy Queen. On a hot day or night expect long lines but after you order you think, now that was worth the wait! Btw, if you order ice cream in a quart to go, you won't believe how cheap it is no how much they pack into those containers. read more

The best Dairy Queen in the area, in my opinion. I've gone out of my way to head here when I'm in the area. Ice cream seems to be the freshest tasting, especially the shakes. Am not aware of any other ones in the area that also sell hot dogs (have not had one yet)...then again, it's not the reason one would go to Dairy Queen :) One of my visits was during an unusually warm fall night with a long line, but they did a good job of keeping it moving. Wellllll where do I start. Came here with two friends for an after dinner treat. For some reason the outside window wasn't open and there was a line of people out the door, across the parking lot preventing us from pulling in to park. Our cashier was less than enthusiastic to take our order, when I asked her could I make my blizzard royal she said "what do you want".. ok thanks for the hospitality after she took the rest of our order, 2 mediums and a small, we waited for five minutes, til she came back & told me she didn't have the candies that go in my blizzard &she would just use pb cups instead. I agreed. When we got our order there was 3 mediums, which I was charged for even though we ordered a small. Plus this dq does not serve the upside down blizzards which just gives them an excuse to serve you half melted blizzards that you have to bring home & put in the freezer. Why is this Dairy Queen so much more expensive then the others in the area? A small 1 topping ice cream is a "sundae" here and more then $1 more then Washington township or Montvale. The service was also incredibly slow and they assumed the change (coins) that I was given from my incredibly overpriced ice cream would go directly into their "college fund jar." What's the point of having hours of operation if you don't follow them ? I came to this Dairy Queen 20 mins before closing time. When I got there the machines were already off and I was given the look of death as I walked up to the counter to place my order . I tried to order a blizzard but was told that the machines were off and it would take to long to "warm up" so I would have to order something other than a blizzard . Now I totally understand wanting to get a head start on the whole cleaning up process at the end of the night cause I'm sure it's a pain in the ass , but there was still 20 minutes left til closing time . THATS HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE and quite frankly you guys should learn how to run a business properly. This Dairy Queen has been here forever and you should take pride in that and not be so worried if you are going to close at exactly 11pm. This used to be the best Dairy Queen, I don't know what happened but I won't be returning to this location. I've been there twice this month. Both times I tried to order a chocolate chip cookie dough blizzard and was told they were out of cookie dough, so last night I ordered a mini Oreo blizzard. What I got was a small (wrong size) vanilla ice cream. There were no Oreos in the blizzard. The way it was mixed most of the blizzard was plain vanilla ice cream and other parts had a few specks of Oreos not one chunk of an oreo cookie. Disappointing to say the least. Fortunately there's another Dairy Queen in Norwood and I've never had a bad experience there. Don't waste your time and money at this location. read more

Took my kids and myself to Dairy Queen in Emerson. The young girls who were working were very pleasant, however when I got my soft serve vanilla cone, the ice cream tasted different, bad different. The ice cream was extremely soft & mushy which gave the soft serve a very different & not as tasty consistency. When I brought it to the attention of an older red headed woman who I'm assuming was a manager or owner, she was rude & told me the machine had been fine all day. I just spent $15 on 3 items & she offered to do nothing & dismissed my claims that something was wrong with the temperature of the ice cream. I will take my business elsewhere. Rude & would not acknowledge anything I was saying & walked away from me. Park ridge Dairy Queen has consistently nice workers & just as convenient. Skip this place.. overpriced too. read more

I would never come here again for the very fact that the teenager working at the cashier had such a nasty attitude. She saw me standing outside on a slow day and stayed right by the inside cashier when I then directed my eyes to the small window sign that said, "Please come inside" amongst a thousand other window signs. (Get it together. If you're too lazy to answer the window, put out a bigger sign!) As I walked inside, she saw something drop out of my wallet and just looked at it on the floor without saying a word. She stated that there was a $10 card minimum when she saw me pull my card out, and then she looked me up and down. I said thank you, and it was still crickets in that place. Please give your money to places that train their workers properly and work hard for your business. (I recommend Conrad's in Westwood. Not too far from this place, and definitely more class in all areas.) Clearly this Dairy Queen establishment is not concerned, but they should be. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! When asked for a togo bag for our cups of ice cream they only put it in a bag big enough for one. When we asked for another bag, it was rudely thrown at us. Employees were rude from the minute we walked up. On top of it all they barely give any ice cream or toppings compared to other Diary Queens. Also higher prices than other diary queens, which doesn't make sense to me seeing they barely give any ice cream. DO NOT GO HERE.
