My husband had to work and asked me to pick up a pvc plumbing piece that had broken day prior. At Standard True Value a very patient gentleman helped me before and after looking at pic on my phone and tried to show me multiple parts. He was kind enough to even offer for me to call hubby to get correct part. I couldn't reach hubby, so I had to leave. I reached my husband, drove all the way back and same gentleman again kindly got part I needed and even helped me with the primer and glue. I felt a bit foolish needing so much help, but he made me feel welcome and treated me with respect. read more

This place is absolutely crazy. The kitchen and bath showroom has no model #s, no sku's, no prices so I asked for pricing on 2 sinks 30+ minutes later still nothing. So I asked for the manager and he said he could email it later when they find it. I don't want it days later I want to be able to buy something right now and know the price. I'm renovating my whole house. You just lost thousand's of dollars in potential sales. I liked the product just not a good setup. I see this place closing very quickly if nothing changes. It's not like anyone here is busy, no one is in here. Employees are standing around. You have the time to put the sku's and pricing on the product. Stop being lazy. My initial contact with Standard Plumbing in Rancho Cordova was with customer service rep Dakota. Advised her I was looking for a certain style sink and faucet for a kitchen redo. She attached herself to my cause like a bee to nectar, taking me through an array of choices, providing insightful trade and practical info along the way, respectful of my ideas. Dakota's communication skill and product knowledge inspired confidence, resulting in my taking possession of a lovely Kohler sink and Delta faucet (if such things can be described as lovely)! Competitive pricing as well! After Home Depot customer service limbo and inferior materials, my experience with SP/TV in RC was dreamlike! Delivery was included! Wondering if one-star reviewers really gave Standard Plumbing / True Value Hardware a fair opportunity to provide them with five-star service? As of this date, I highly recommend Standard Plumbing to others. Will definitely return to SP/TV for supplies and service in future! read more

Called around 4:30 yesterday to see if they had a part I needed to make an emergency repair and they did. I asked what time they close and they said 5 pm. Arrived at 4:55 with old part in hand and the door was locked. Got an employees attention inside and he says we are closed. I said it is not 5 yet. He said yes it is. I said come look at my phone. He turned and walked away. Another employee walked by and looked at me and kept walking. It was 4:58 at that time. Tried calling and they did not answer. I will drive out of my way instead of giving them any of my business in the future read more

I dropped in while I was waiting to have new tires installed on my vehicle from the place that shares a parking lot with them. I was very pleasantly surprised! The staff was helpful, friendly, professional, knowledgeable and courteous. I picked up a few electrical odds and ends and they were very happy to answer all of my questions and show me around the store. The store really has a mom-and-pop feel to it. The store is well laid out very well organized and clean! I will definitely be coming back for my next project and all of my hardware needs. I love this place! It has the feel of your neighborhood hardware store. read more

Extremely overpriced, but that's not the worst thing about this store. The employees are completely unprofessional. They will make you feel like an idiot for asking questions and turn there nose up at you. The entire reason for shopping at these overpriced places is so that you can speak to someone about your project and they can help you find the right parts/tools/etc. This place has somehow found the coldest, least professional people on the planet to provide this service. (the plumbing department, in particular...whoever owns this store should can that guy) AVOID THIS STORE!!!!!! keep driving 10 seconds down the street and go to Home Depot. read more

Poor customer service. Followed me though the store and wouldn't allow to shop for what i needed.

we bought our bath fixtures to do our remodel. went to pick up rough in portion of shower and bath valves and Dak told me there were other parts to pick up. she brought a cart out to the car and we loaded up the car. weeks later when we were ready for the finish she, Dak loaded us up again and we noticed we were missing our vanity faucet. we brought this to Daks attention and she said we received it cause it was marked off on her paper work that it was picked up. we searched for faucet a second time at home and we did not have it. Dak told us that they don't make mistakes and we had to have picked it up. she said there was nothing she could do for us. she could get us another one at cost?? wtf ? we are not out there trying to scam supply houses for a $300 faucet. very disappointed, we will never use them again. read more

My husband and I are remodeling both of our bathrooms and we entered the store completely overwhelmed until Dakota came to our rescue! We explained what we thought we wanted and she ran with our limited ideas, and really listened to us and we left an hour later with just about everything we need to begin on order, Dakota was able to give us the pros and cons of different brands and styles of fixtures and never tried to upsell! We never felt rushed or made to feel stupid when we were unsure or didn't think of something, she even recommended places to get our flooring and tile, she was amazing. We came into your store to buy a tub, however, the sales person did not know much about the brand we were interested and had to leave early. she promised she would contact the tub company on Monday and get back to us. It is now Tuesday and yet we have not heard anything. And you wonder why we order things online, at least online we don't have to deal so much with broken promises. Absolutely the worst customer service ever. As I was walking to the door at 6:59 I was greeted by two men at the door telling me that it's 7:00 and their cash registers have been all counted and they are closed. Why did they count their cash before close? Whatever happened to good old-fashioned customer service? I will NEVER go back. That was a 1st and last time. read more
