Having been in the service industry most of my adult life, I can only describe this experience as painful. Very unhappy woman behind the bar. I heard the cooks say order up like three times while she just completely ignored him and then went outside. A young gal came from the back and I told her our order was up and she grabbed it for us. She was a sweetheart and I felt bad for her for having to deal with that miserable woman. All the food was delicious. We had the bison burger, French Dip Sandwich, Buffalo Chicken Pizza, Huckleberry Bread Pudding, and Guinness Chocolate Cake with Baileys cream cheese frosting for Saint Patrick's Day. Maggie, the main bartender took great care of us. We will be coming back! read more

We've had four trips to this establishment in the last two weeks. I love supporting local businesses. What is stellar about this place is the people - Chuck has a great team who hold it together, even when the place gets jammed! The food is generally very good and we love the variety - burgers, steaks, fish, pizza, and bbq. Their salads are huge! We also love the special nights with live music on the patio. Special shout out to Tamara who served our party of 20 for my birthday. We had made the reservation weeks in advance and Chuck offered us a special menu for the group. So it rained and we were a bit cramped indoors (not their fault), and the food came out in groups. The one disappointing part is that the two 9-year-olds were served last. Some items were fabulous and some were okay. The wings and onion ring appetizers were really popular. Overall, they hit more than they miss. And we like the people. So we will be back. read more

Ordered pizza takeout to satisfy my hungry kids' appetites after a long day of outdoor exploring and it certainly hit the spot. When I went in to pickup our order, I had a nice chat with the bartender and her mother who stopped in to visit her. The food and my server were genuinely amazing. The issue lies with the lady behind the bar. She walked up to my friend and I asking if everything was okay, we said things were perfect but needed a to go cup for the soup my friends grandma didn't finished because of her CHEMO MEDICATION, and she proceeded give my friend and I the MEANEST LOOK and said okay. She returned with the to go cup, and tossed it at my MILITARY VETERAN FRIEND HEARD IT HIT THE GROUND, AND WALK AWAY. Listen I don't know what her problem is, but if she continues to stay there without even a talking to we won't be spending a dime. Went in for lunch. Ordered fish and chips because nothing else really interested me and I was not going to pay $18. for a Chicken Ceasar salad in a Dive bar. The fish resembled two overdone Giant fishsticks. Like long tubes? And first time I've had salty tartar sauce. No lemon for the fish and no straw for the drink. No silverware either, had to ask for after my food arrived. Keep driving, the next restaurant is only 50 miles away. read more

Mediocre Food which is Overpriced I am a local and have eaten here many times over the years and the food has been acceptable and I stop here when nothing else is available. However, something has changed. The last two times I was there, the food was overcooked. The chicken wings tasted like stale frying oil. The French dip was loaded with fat. To top it off, the menu prices were lower than the register's prices by $1-2 per item. Even though the server said the change in the register pricing was recent, the higher prices is nothing new for this place. We encountered this before on one or two items, but not EVERYTHING. Well, we decided to change it up from our normal haunts and we drove 30 minutes to the outpost. we were kind of excited for it was prime rib night..... lol. There were maybe eight people in the restaurant when we got there and we were made to feel like we were intruding by the most pleasant waitress/barkeep you'll ever want to meet, NOT!! I asked her which was better the $44 ribeye or the $48 prime rib. She told me they were both the same thing ones on the grill and one is roasted, I should've known that answer. I should've cut my losses and left. My wife actually enjoyed her French dip, but she ordered garlic fries and she was served regular fries When we told our waitress, they were supposed to be garlic fries, she stared at us for the longest uncomfortable period of time, and then went back into the kitchen and brought a bowl of raw, diced garlic out and set it on the table. My steak was medium at Bast, instead of medium rare, which tells me they just carved a piece of prime rib off and threw it on the grill. It was put on cold plate by the time I served and I got to eat my food was barely warm at best And my broccoli was cold. we were never ask or served water. We were never ask how the meal was and when we asked for it was never delivered. They had to go to put homemade carrot cake on the menu and the piece of cake was nine dollars and when I ask her how big it was for nine dollars she said it was a little slice and I told her thanks and she stood there for the longest time and said well do you want the cake or not and I replied, Thank you. If you're looking for substandard food and even worse service and if you want to pay to leave feeling like you were a burden, not, this is your place!! I wish they had a negative star option. read more

Fun local bar/restaurant just off highway 89 a half-hour north of Yellowstone. The inside is very unique with lots of taxidermy and other Western flare (I am a tourist so that part was super fun!). We enjoyed our take-out meal during the Covid pandemic. A large pizza had us full with plenty of leftovers. The crust was a bit soft but it was very cheesy. The wings were breaded and very crispy, kind of like fried chicken. Definitely worth a stop on your way into or out of the park. read more

We had originally wanted to try the Saloon but service was terrible so we left and headed around the corner to Emigrants outpost. The difference was night and day, walk in waitresses tells us to sit anywhere, tell we like to sit outside. She comes out within 5 minutes to ask about drinks and food. Food came out within 25 minutes. It was hot and large portions and my hamburger was good. By pass the Saloon and head for here. read more

Seems an okay spot, nestled out of the way. Probably better in non-covid times. We picked up takeout; things were ready in time, and the cost was pretty nice. But the food was pretty bad. We got some tacos that were supposed to be "huge" but weren't as big as I thought - they weren't small, they certainly weren't street tacos, but they weren't all that giant. The tacos themselves weren't good. The protein was super under-seasoned and the ingredients just lacked any flavor and spice. Maybe it's my issue for expecting something a bit more authentic in the middle of Montana, but they just missed the mark. The wings we got were sort of odd, breaded and fried rather than normal wings just sort of baked or fried. They weren't bad; they put the sauce on the side which was good (nobody likes soggy wings) but it was more like fried chicken than it was wings. But they were certainly huge wings! All in all just kind of average. Not the kind of place I feel the need to visit again when back in Montana. read more

After coming from Yellowstone into Montana, this place is one of the first restaurants we encountered. The place looks nice, it's clean, and there's outside seating, which is imperative during times of COVID. My wife and I headed inside to the bar with the hopes of being seen and seated by an employee. There were two tables inside, three people at the bar, and three tables outside that were occupied. We were noticed at the bar after about 10 minutes, then the bartender gives us a menu and takes our order. Then a tall male who has some position of power, yells at two customers of Asian descent for having their arms on the bar in the era of COVID. Then he yells at the two female bartenders. This really threw us off, the manager/owner is speaking to customers and staff with disregard. At first I suspected it was a result of the customer's race, and the bartenders for allowing it to happen, but it's hard to tell a racist from an asshole and where they intersect, if they do. We asked if we could be seated outside, but was told that we can seat ourselves, in which we did. After seated outside for 10 minutes, the bartender comes outside with our iced tea and pop. Then about 20 minutes passes and the sliders I ordered were served by the bartender. They were very traditional in presentation and they were okay in flavor, nothing stood out, but met the cost/taste threshold. The next time we see the bartender, she's walking out to her car, and my wife's pizza hasn't arrived. I go inside after 15 minutes of waiting for my pizza after my sliders arrived. Inside the restaurant, there's only one bartender, that my wife's food hasn't arrived. She checks on the food and tells me another 10 minutes. My half eaten sliders are cold, and the only reason they're cold is because I tried eating them slow while waiting for my wife's pizza. I asked for a refund. The manager/owner begins to yell at me from the kitchen, asking me to "Be reasonable!" As if I want cold sliders with my wife's hot pizza, because the cook/owner/manager cannot coordinate the cook times of two plates. I begrudgingly received a refund for the pizza, but not for the sliders as a way for him to continue the spite. We quickly left, and probably should have left before asking for refund, as the experience wasn't worth the money. I go back to the racist comment because I'm not capable of distinguishing what type of person he is, as my sample size is small for good reasons. I hope he just had a bad day, and/or is seeking treatment if it's more than that, as people don't have to live that way and with that much anger. read more
