I tried the chicken pozole and it was very flavorful with spices I was trying to figure out. Plenty of chicken and I would suggest a little more thinly cut cabbage and more hominy. This restaurant was conveniently located right across the street from our hotel. It's a little hidden though as it's located in an indoor complex with a few other businesses. Being from Texas I know what good Mexican food is, and I typically avoid Mexican restaurants outside of Texas; but the reviews of this one caught my eye and I decided to try them out. It smelled amazing inside the restaurant. We were seated quickly and our food came out really fast after we ordered. Probably not even 10 minutes. Everything was hot and fresh. My fajitas were excellent, and the rice and beans were among some of the best I've ever had. The chips and salsa were also great. The service was really good. The portions were quite large. My hubby really enjoyed his Texas fajitas. I ordered the green chili enchiladas. Both had great flavor. I personally wouldn't order mine again the cheese wasn't melted inside and made it kind of gross. I don't think they shred their own cheese but buy the coated cheese that doesn't melt. We walked in and we were not greeted with a hello just asked us how many and we waited to be seated. The older gentleman then said your table is ready and just pointed to it. We sat the young gentleman then asked us what to drink brought us our drinks and forgot my one son's drink and told him "aye bro what was your drink" I thought that was very unprofessional. My kids got their food first and my son's beans were hard as rocks legit stuck to his plate. My margarita had little to no ice. The table that came after us I'm pretty sure received their order before us. Our entire table had their food first while we just sat to wait. Fast service and drinks on the table in 2 mins. Food out quickly and refills delivered promptly. The steak chimichanga was the best I've even had, not even close (and I am a chimi junkie!). The steak was chopped super fine, then char seared on the flat top to perfection! Crispy tender meat and great rice and beans! Queso was top notch along with the chips and salsa. They were on a wait the whole time we were there and the few servers they had were racing around but dominating! This place had great reviews but I was sorely disappointed. I ordered a carne asada soft taco and the meat wasn't even chewable. I did steal some shrimp from my husband's fajitas to make an edible taco. I informed the server and he didn't charge us for the taco. Nevertheless, a high Yelp rating brought me here since my favorite burger place down the road is closed. Friendly service and a great menu. Had a shredded beef cheese quesadilla, topped with a dollop of sour cream and guacamole along with a small side of side of rice. The beef was very tender and rice had peas and corn.
