Service here is OK. The aunties who run Burlingame Nail Care seemingly love to gossip (no surprise). I find that while they do a good job cleaning up my cuticles and shaping my nails, they do not always paint my nails well. Even with gel, I often find air bubbles, streaks, and uneven edges when I get my nails painted. I appreciate that I can very easily schedule same-day appointments, but I prefer to fet my manicures elsewhere. read more

I always enjoy going to Kim for dip nails. She has helped me grow out my nails by applying fake tips. When my nails are long enough, I just get dip powder done in order to keep my nails from chipping. Depending on how busy, it can take over an hour but usually I get in and out pretty quickly. I recommend just calling in and asking when she is not as busy and then they will all be very attentive. Kim and staff are very friendly and I love the welcoming atmosphere. read more

What a HUGE disappointment! I read all the reviews and accolades about Kim, the salon owner, and I didn't experience any of it. Perhaps because I only wanted a simple clear polish only manicure, she didn't feel it warranted attentive care. She was dismissive and apathetic. My nails were not evenly filed, she used the skin-filled cuticle cutter to clean out my nails without wiping it before doing so (gross!) and pushed me through the process without any kind of friendly customer service. I will NEVER go back there again! read more

Kim is the best manicurist! Very consistent in quality, I've been going to her for years. I rotate pedicurists based on whoever is available, everyone is good. For both manicures and pedicures, they don't rush but are still efficient with time. Prices are very fair as well! read more

$45 for a gel mani and a regular pedi. Just moved to the area from SF Pleasant service! For what my mom and I paid it was a great date. I'm a pretty anal about my nails and usually do them myself. There is no parking so that's why I put four stars. They cut my nails pretty dang short after I had been growing them out, but yes one was broken so they were just evening them out. The shape of the nails aren't matching. The color isn't on the edges of the nail and some are missing the corners. There is still some cuticle skin as well. My toes are same situation. Not the worst, not the best. I am willing to go again and build a more comfortable relationship. They are awesome! After all this I went home and my dog stepped on my big toe scratching it! So I went to the salon asking if they could fix it or if I could buy the nail polish. Without any huffing or puffing they fixed it! Girls got my back! read more

I knew I didn't want to RUSH this review after getting a manicure, and here is WHY... Day of Manicure: I came here after-work and it wasn't busy on a Friday afternoon. Rose was my manicurist and she is the sweetest! I told her I wanted a nude base with parted black french tips (I showed her an Instagram pic). Rose was quick with trimming/shaping/filing down my nails to a squoval shape. Since she filed a lot, my hands felt sandy, and wished I had an option of washing my hands thoroughly. She gave me a great hands massage and then proceeded with painting. She did the black french tips free hand, however, the thickness were different for each finger, Rose did go back and made them look even. When I left the salon, my nails looked great! ($12 for manicure + $5 french tip) 1 Day After: It was already starting to peel and the tips were beginning to wear down like if it was 1 week old. SAD. The skin above my cuticles were crackling and dry. Honestly, this is a good inexpensive place if you just want a QUICK manicure/pedicure. read more

I can't say enough great things about this Nail salon.. I have always gotten a manicure and was never really interested in doing gel.. until my mom told me about this place. Once I got my nails done with Kim (the owner), I am now a customer for life. Kim does such an incredible job, she takes pride in her work and how your nails look after she is done. She takes such a great care and I love going to get my nails done. At times, I cant even wait two weeks, I have to go in earlier :-)... they always look nice and the shape is great. I got my nails done by Kim! She was so sweet and did a fabulous job on my nails. I made an appointment to get a gel manicure ($25). Kim was lovely and worked wonders on my "little nails" (she said my nails were too small and yet she was able to quickly and perfectly paint my nails!) the place was really busy and yet Kim was really attentive and did not rush in order to get to the next customer. I 100% recommend this salon and I will definitely be back again before I leave burlingame! read more

When we arrived on time, the staff said they had no record of our appointment and had to call the owner. After the call, we were told only one appointment had been scheduled, even though I clearly booked two pedicures. They eventually agreed to take both of us, but the staff's attitude made us feel like we were inconveniencing them. The technician Sara helping my sister seemed rushed the entire time, didn't properly cut her cuticles, and even left her sitting with wax on her feet for about 30 minutes to assist a walk-in client. Unfortunately, my sister's pedicure wasn't completed properly, which was very disappointing considering we had scheduled our appointment in advance and arrived on time. As a loyal customer, this experience was frustrating and not what I had come to expect from this business. Sadly, it will likely be our last visit. Also, if the staff is preparing to leave by 6:00 PM, it would be helpful for the business hours to reflect that instead of listing the closing time as 7:30 PM.

I've walked by this salon everyday for the past week after picking up the lil lad from school. Each time I looked in to the salon I was greeted with a smile of hello from the owner Leena. So on Friday I booked a mani/pedi for Sunday. Yes, friendliness is important to me. If I spend my money somewhere and the service is cold or aloof I don't go back. You don't have to fawn, just a little human warmth and I'm good. The salons that line Broadway have never really given me a reason to go back: some were cluttered, others rush through the service, others the dreaded can't be bothered to crack a smile if you paid them... Cleanliness is important to me as well. And everything owner Leena's salon is brand new and sparkly clean. Love it. No millions of knick knacks and outdated 80s fashion posters or tons of ads for beauty products. Nice, minimal. TV if you want it; I just close my eyes and relax. When I wasn't doing that I was having a great chat with Leena. Service; she hooked me up. Took her time gave me and excellent pedicure, pretty little pink toes with nice soft feet after. A great manicure with a smooth buffed shine because I don't do polish on the fingers. Her hand massage was heaven attentive and not rushed through; instant stress reliever. THEN, I hadn't plan on the extra expenditure but she gave me a package deal on a lower leg wax and I jumped on the the offer. Quick, thorough and smooth results. Yay, needed it. 20% off all services for Grand Opening. She does nails, waxing and facials. Now all of this was going on while my 21 month old boy was either playing cars, nursing, looking for attention or playing with her chair sinks. Being a mother of two herself, Leena took it in stride and never seemed annoyed by the added chaos. I love her for that. I had such a great experience at Burlingame Nail Care! The staff was incredibly friendly, professional, and attentive from the moment I walked in. This is bottom dollar nail salon. I came in for just a regular manicure and the lady batted my hand around like it was an old doll she didn't really like. 1. Duck tape on some of the hand rests 2. So if I don't have cash to tip, then what?? No ATM or one close 3. Why put nail polish behind the chairs??? 4. The language thing of talking about who knows what, probably me. 5. Really quiet and peaceful place. Everyone was friendly. Quick to get me in and out as last minute walk-in. Pedicure and trim/fill in with gel $35. They even apologized for their TVs not working due to an electrical storm the night before. I hadn't even noticed. read more

Kicked me out of her salon because I asked for my cuticles to be pushed back more. If you're in disbelief, so am I. I went to Hai for my wedding nails in 2014 and was happy with her work. Started coming back weekly to her this year and have seen her about 6 times. She's adorable and I loved talking to her about skincare and beauty treatments. I just can't believe how she treated me today. I may be a slightly picky client, I know that. But why can't you be when you're paying top dollar for a service and coming weekly?! I always give her feedback of her work the next time see her, like: the last mani I had was so beautiful and stayed on for a week! or Hey, last top coat left lines the next day (light pink nails photo) or the polish didn't go to the edge of my nail so it left that part exposed and brittle which caused breakage. Again, I'm not going to apologize for that. I don't know if she was having a bad day today or what, but it's completely unacceptable what she did. First off, I could tell she was in a rush but that doesn't mean I'm not allowed to give feedback or that my appointment is less important than others. I asked her to clean under my nails one more time because there was still dirt. She handed me the tools and asked me to do it because she didn't want to poke me. No big deal, I thought. That makes sense. I don't know if that pissed her off or what because when I asked a few moments ago if she could slow down and push back my cuticles a little more, she snapped. I said I'd be happy to forgo my pedicure so I could get a slower manicure. she said "you know what, I may not be the right fit for you so let me just stop". WTF?! I asked her if she had another client because I could tell she was rushing and she said yes. She apparently doesn't believe in pushing back the cuticles too much because it will cause infection. I said why didn't you just tell me that then instead of kicking me out. I'm a reasonable person and it's not like we had any tension before or bad vibes. So weird! She begrudgingly finished my mani (burgundy photo) after I explained is Saturday and no one else can take me last minute. And I still didn't get my pedi. And sure enough, her next client came strolling in one hour after my appointment time. Funny, normally we always allow 1.25-1.5 hours for mani/pedi, not try to cram both in an hour. I'm sorry I had to leave this review, but it was well-earned. Hai could have done 20 awful manis on me and I still would not have left a bad review if she was nice. And there was one time she completely forgot about my appointment and had to drive down to the shop after I called her. Again, don't really care about that, we are all human. But the service today (or lack there of) was horrendous and just negated every prior experience I'd had. It was completely awful and made me feel like crap. In response to the Salon's reply: A quick "I don't feel comfortable pushing back your cuticles" would have sufficed instead of abruptly quitting the job and me having to talk her into finish it. I didn't want a free mani. I wanted good customer service.
