Dr.Loucas is the best!! He is kind , compassionate, and has a great personality. I've been treated by him for awhile now and can only give him the highest praises! I found out ,recently, that he will no longer be practicing. I'm not sure if it's for good or temporary. All I can say is I'll miss him alot! Thank you for everything doc. I've been here twice - once for the first appointment of the day and once for a 3:45 appointment. Both times there has been a stupidly long wait. For the 3:45 appointment, I was seen at 5:00pm. Others in the waiting room were complaining about the long wait times before when I walked in - the receptionist said it would be about 45 minutes. When I finally was seen by the doctor, I mentioned that the wait was awfully long and the receptionist was misleading (since everyone had been waiting about 2 hours - we all had plenty of time to chat and compare stories.) The doctor responded by saying, "Just wait, with Obamacare, this is only the beginning of long wait times!" WRONG CROWD, BRO. All that aside, he did nothing to help my skin, and often gives complex choices for what you might like to do next. For instance, I was getting a wart removed from my thumb. He told me I could have him freeze it off or cut it out. What. You're the doctor. I ended up telling him to do whatever would get it done, to which he replied, "Ok, I'll cut it out. It would have never come off from freezing." Why did you give me the option, dude? read more

I don't understand all the negativity directed towards Dr. Loucas. I have been going to him for about 3 years. His staff has always been very professional and friendly. Dr. Loucas is very competent. The offices are very clean as is the bathroom. No complaints here! read more

I'm a little puzzled by all of these bad reviews. Dr. Loucas was great; I went in on a referral, and the wait time was only about 10 minutes or so, and he was friendly and efficient. He is a little goofy, which I think may be offputting to some people, but I was genuinely impressed by the care I received here. He seems to be well-respected within the Mt. Sinai network for what it's worth. As a follow-up, having received laser hair removal from Dr. Loucas and then subsequently from another dermatologist, it turns out that Dr. Loucas cut a few corners and wasn't as detail-oriented--e.g., he didn't pause to tell me that I should shave before the procedure because it's more effective (or have a nurse do so), which is fairly standard. Dr. Loucas is amazing! He fixed my hormonal acne in literal days! I thought it would take weeks before I *might* see results, but he listened and put me on a regimen that will not only treat the acne and scars I have right now, but prevent them going forward. I have had 0 dryness or redness! In fact, my normally red skin is looking less and less red each day! I spent YEARS depressed over it. He's the only doctor I recommend to absolutely everyone, and my family all goes to him. He's expert with filler and everyone says my 71 year old mom looks 20 years younger thanks to him. Dr Loucas is an amazing dermatologist. I went to him after reading his high reviews on ZocDoc and I agree with all the praise I read on there. He was friendly and listened to what I wanted. He made the treatment painless (I had done the same treatment with another dermatologist before him who made it extremely painful). Also, he gave me lots of information about different treatments and suggestions on what he felt would work best for me. I felt educated and cared for when I left the office. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking a safe and knowledgeable dermatologist who will improve your skin remarkably. read more

Excellent Doctor. I can not speak highly enough of Doctor Loucas and I 100% recommend him. His office is well run, professional, his staff is very courteous, and my wait time was minimal. Doctor Loucas was very comprehensive and took the time to answer my questions and treat me. He was very meticulous, honest and cared about finding the right solution to treat my skin. I went to him because my 26 year old daughter highly recommended him! She was suffering from horrible acne , he was the only dermatologist that was able to treat her acne after years of suffering. He was compassionate and understood how important it was for her self esteem to have her acne treated. She has perfect skin now. I would definitely recommend Dr. Loucas. read more

As a patient of Dr. Loucas' for the past 3 years, I have to strongly disagree with the above comment. Dr. Loucas had diagnosed me with a condition that THREE other dermatologists over looked and without treatment, would have caused a bigger problem. My condition is under control and my skin over all looks FANTASTIC!! Dr. Loucas takes his time and never rushes me during any visit and answers all my questions no matter how obvious or complex they may be. There should be more doctors in general like Dr. Loucas who take their time to give patients the quality of care that they deserve, which he goes above and beyond to do. I have referred many friends and family to Dr. Loucas with no complaints and would very highly recommend him to anyone looking for a dermatologist. The office staff is always welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful. I would advise anyone reading this to ignore the obnoxious comment above and to go on ZocDoc.com to see over 300 EXCELLENT reviews. I would give less than one star if I could!!! I showed up 15min early for the appnt to fill out the paperwork. I was with my infant daughter, so I expected to be seen promptly. I waited over an HOUR and still had not seen the doctor. The nurse said he was in a cosmetic procedure. I would expect they schedule things better. I would NEVER so back. I finally had to walk out because my daughter was hungry and tired. read more

I can not speak highly enough of Dr. Loucas! I have been to so many dermatologists who were unable to effectively treat my adult acne. I went to Dr. Loucas three months before my wedding desperate for his help! He took the time to work with me and find the solution for my skin! He cared as much as I did about getting my skin perfect for my wedding day! Truly he cured my skin and made me the most confident bride. Dr. Loucas has been my dermatologist for the last 2 years and I can't praise him enough. He is very friendly and listens to what I want all the time. Although unlike other doctors, he would not push a procedure if he doesn't feel comfortable that it would suit your skin. And I like him for that. He is not there for the money but he actually cares of what his patients would look like when they leave his office. He gives you some samples to try before making a commitment on a medicine. And that saves a lot of money for a lot of patients. I read the other reviews that he is generally not on time. I've never had that problem. Also if you are the patient he's seeing, would you like him to rush thru his consultation with you??? He is not rushing that's why probably he runs late on some appointments. Some people should just lighten up. read more

Great doctor. He offered several options for me, discussed my concerns, and didnt rush me through the appointment. I would give him 5 stars, but...only 3 star for the LONG wait. Assume you will wait AT LEAST 45MIN -1 HOUR for your appointment (even for morning ones). Clearly, they book too many people at the same time. My recommendation? Go to the office, check-in, see how far behind they are, and then go run errands in the neighborhood or bring a good book. read more

If it wasn't for the wait it would be a 5 star. I will say however it was about an hour past my appointment and I am used to waiting for doctors but I had another appointment downtown. This doctor was really nice and here's why I am a fan. I had some dumbass aesthetic office talk me into a laser treatment that I did not need. They said it would tighten my skin- but my skin is pretty good. Anyway I had perfectly even skin tone and now its been years of awful awful awful pigmentation. I can not go without makeup and even then I fell like I have to pile it on. Hydroquinone, TCL peels, creams, other lasers to correct it, blah blah blah. He told me he would create a solution on pads and that over time it would get better. Of course I did not believe him because I am a drug rep and I know a lot of docs want to just sell their stuff. I figured it was worth a shot since I buy expensive makeup and other products anyway- I chalked it up to another product that won't work. It's 60 pads- he told me to cut them in half and I could get two uses out of it. 60 pads- so 60 days at two pads a day. I do the routine hesitantly- well about two weeks later I actually looked at my skin. HOLY MOLY!!! IT'S 80 GONE!!!!!!! I have been wanting to call the office all week to tell them but time got away from me. Anyway- he gave me a good consultation on skin issues that I was concerned with. We decided to tackle the pigmentation first and I will be back in September to work on the anti-aging part. (I want to stay looking young). He did give me a sample of a cream to start in September before my second visit. This experience gave me a lot of confidence in him. I am very happy and I know to just schedule more time for the wait next visit. read more

Dr. Loucas is terrific! Calm, competent, friendly, and has great sense of humor. He is really thorough and takes the time to look you over carefully, and he also makes sure to talk to you and make sure all your concerns are addressed. He seems genuinely interested in you as a person, not just as a patient. My entire family sees him now, my two kids (ages 16 and 10) were in his office for acne and eczema, respectively, and he was great with them. read more

Horrible place, would never go there again or recommend it to anyone. Would give zero stars if I could. I showed up for my appointment 10 min earlier only to hear that there is 1.5hr wait! When I told the front desk lady they should have called to let me know in advance, her response was 'it is very difficult to do that'. Well, that is your job, right? I had another appointment in an hour (thinking I planned contingency in case they are running late) but they could care less. I wasted all my morning, money for transportation and positive energy on them... I asked to speak to the doctor - the 2 front desk ladies refused. They were rude too (especially a coworker doctor) and could care less about the patients. It was pretty clear the have double booked appointments (as 4 people were waiting). I had to leave without being seen. Notice too how many other comments say the same (the only reason I went there was a reco by my Trusted PCP and stupid me I did not check the reviews). I am sure there are many more unhappy people who just did not write a review. I rarely do that but this treatment was so bad that I took the time to share.
