After greeting me, Eduardo immediately asked why I didn't just look it up on their site before coming in. I explained that the configuration wasn't listed, and he gave me a blank stare and insisted that it was. We pulled up the website together, and sure enough, it wasn't there at all. He then told me I could go look for the car myself on the lot and come find him when I was done. They didn't have what I was looking for, so I asked what they'd offer me if I sold my car outright. The sales department at Emmons has some of the worst customer service I've experienced. For months, I waited for a Chevrolet SSR that was in their "make ready" process. Based on the pictures, I knew it was the truck I wanted. Since April, I made two trips to the dealership hoping to see and test drive it. I also spoke with a salesman, Kevin Servellon, several times by phone and stayed in contact with him through email. Every time, he assured me he would contact me as soon as the truck was ready. On July 3, 2026, I drove by the dealership and saw the truck sitting out front. I immediately called Kevin. When I couldn't reach him after two calls, I called the dealership directly. That's when I was told the truck had already been sold to someone who was willing to buy it "as is." What makes this so disappointing is that I was never given that same opportunity. I had been patiently waiting for months, staying in regular contact, and relying on Kevin's repeated promise that he would notify me when the truck was available. Instead, I found out it had been sold without so much as a phone call or email. When I expressed my disappointment, I was told that Kevin talks to 30 or 40 people every day. I was one of those people--but unlike a casual inquiry, I had been consistently following up for months and had visited the dealership twice in person. This experience reflects very poor communication and customer service. If a salesperson makes a commitment to keep a serious buyer informed, they should honor that commitment. Buyer Beware My husband and I have been searching for our next vehicle, and a few days ago we found a Jeep we liked at Emmons Autoplex in Webster, Texas. The advertised price was over $37,000, but there were several additional charges, including: * Document fee * Dealer Services Fee: $498 * Anti-Theft Fee: $497 * An open manufacturer safety recall Since we live in another state, we wanted to clarify these charges before making the trip to the dealership. On August 3, my husband spoke with salesperson Jose Mata. During the conversation, he stated that the $497 anti-theft fee was mandatory and non-negotiable for every customer. He explained that it included theft protection of up to $5,000, but "up to $5,000" does not necessarily mean a $5,000 payout if your vehicle is stolen. When I later spoke with Jose, I asked what the $498 Dealer Services Fee covered. He told me it was for "everything the car needs before we sell it--repairs, nitrogen, etc." In my opinion, preparing a vehicle for sale should already be reflected in the vehicle's asking price, making this additional fee difficult to justify. I also asked about the open manufacturer safety recall (Recall #21D - 2021-2025 JL/JT Electric Hydraulic Power Steering), which was listed on June 11, 2026. Jose told me the dealership was not required to repair it because it was a manufacturer recall. As a buyer, I found it concerning that the vehicle still had an open safety recall. Finally, I requested an out-the-door price. Jose said he would send it within five minutes. More than 24 hours later, I had still received nothing. I also reached out to the dealership's customer service department and never received a response. After experiencing the lack of communication, the mandatory add-on fees, and the unanswered questions, my husband and I decided there were simply too many and chose not to purchase the Jeep. Bought a car from them. After they added fees like "dealers service fee" and "anti theft fee" which are NOT required by Texas law. They won't take those off even if you cannot afford it. Not only that, after 2 weeks of owning my car and not even a couple thousand miles later it BROKE DOWN ON ME! This is probably the worst experience I have ever had in attempting to purchase a car. I attempted to negotiate a purchase remotely. I have never dealt with a more rude salesman who talked down to me as if I was a child. My reaction was defensive obviously, no one likes to be spoken down to. However, I really liked the car and thought hey I'll just call and get another sales person no problem. WRONG, I was told I couldn't purchase a car, so the sales manager took the side of the rude and offensive salesman and simply refused to do business with me. Have had this car for a little over a year and have had nothing but problems. Have spent over 3k on this car in under 11k miles. it still has things I need to fix. Steer clear of Emmons Autoplex. The cars are drastically overpriced and the inspection process is a joke. I bought a car that had a clutch fail in just three days, and they refused to help, claiming it was my problem. Their final inspection is clearly nonexistent, and they tack on all sorts of unnecessary fees. Save yourself the headache and money. This is not the car buying experience I am accustomed to. Part of it was superb while the rest was not at all desirable. This is more of a machine operation than a business. Everything is run by rules and regulations. When a representative is there to help you the entire experience is based upon the size and organization of the business. If you come to see a vehicle you have found on line it will take up to 5+ minutes for the agent to bring it to you. If you want to test drive more than one vehicle then prepare to spend your day at Emmons. Once you decide to purchase a car be very sure you have done your research. Many vehicles ore overpriced and there is no easy negotiating for a fair price. The strength of the dealership is inventory. Almost everything is available there. If you agree to finance your new vehicle hold onto your wallet. Interest rates are not 5% necessarily even if your credit score is stellar. The entire experience from purchasing to financing is signing one legal document after another. I am happy so far with my overpriced purchase but I will never ever subject myself to the experience of purchasing a vehicle at Emmonds Autoplex. read more

Next time I will come here first even though it is 1 hr drive, they have a large selection of autos with low miles, visually appealing, and best of all the customer service was great. I felt they were upfront on everything and respected my time. I did not feel pressured to buy anything I did not need or want and they did not waste my time like they do at other locations when sales has to get a manager involved. I was followed by a place of mechanical issues, and one of the owners asked to pay half of part of the problems telling me he was not responsible for the body shop that was located inside his establishment I've paid over $12,000 for repairs and my truck has rusted through where they performed repairs and still rattles down the road to this day. The dealership advertised a vehicle for $15,999, but when I received the purchase order, there was an extra $497 charge for VIN etching. I told the salesperson, Scott Hinton, I didn't want that service, but was told multiple times that I had no choice -- "the price is the price." They refused to sell me the car at the advertised price unless I paid for the add-on. This is a dishonest and deceptive business practice. I was ready and willing to pay the full advertised price, but they tried to force an unwanted service on me. I am a past customer. Do not go here. They are not honest or respectful to their customers. After buying a car from them 5 years ago and discovering all types of paint issues under a wrap I was told that was on me. I was unlucky lucky and I was hit in minor accidents and the paint that was falling off was in the damage areas so the people who hit my car had their insurance pay to paint the car. Fast forward to a couple weeks ago when we thought, we bought the car from them, let's see what we they will offer a bluebook value car at $18900 at. Its a 2017 c300 4matic luxury package with zero mechanical issues, new brakes, new rotors, new engine mounts. It did have two rims damaged and a sun roof that would open the shade but not the sun roof. The rims were priced at $185 each and the sun roof was two plastic guides that cost about 1100 to install and repair. Inside clean and minor scratches on outside. So, we go in with all the info and we sit for just shy of 2 hours. At an hour and 30 they apologize and only then tell us its going to take a bit longer. Then the guy comes in and offers us $8k knowing we had an offer in hand from carvana for $11k. My wife and I were pissed that we wasted that time and we left. The manager that we bought the car from called us and apologized and offered us the $11k. We exchanged better words and I said that is fair and I'll get back when we can. Then my father in law gets put into the hospital and will now be in hospice and so we came back a bit over 3 weeks and again sit with the same salesman. The manager wasnt there, but we let them know the story and they said great, let's get you in. We wait 20 min and the sales guy comes back and says they are going to now offer us $10k. I looked at the guy as if it was a joke. So then he gets his manager. He says...we'll the markets change yada yada bs. I told him thats bs and give us our keys and I would make sure to spend what I get fairly on the car on advertising and marketing showcasing how the bs their supposedly valuable customers. This place has no honor and their word can't be taken seriously. Maybe that prior manager, but that was the most disrespectful experience I have gone through. Emmons is crap. Do not go there! Update. We recently bought a new vehicle from Emmons Autoplex after finding a vehicle on Cars.com for sale. We sent an email via cars.com to check the availability of the vehicle we were looking at but since it was after hours we had to wait til the next day to contact them. They opened at 10am the next day so we called around 10:15 and started speaking with someone. During the phone call we were told that our account was locked and that we needed to speak to another salesman. That person got on the line and promptly told us that the vehicle were looking at was being test driven at the moment....*eye roll*....and that he would have to call us back. *big eye roll* We are 4 hours away from this dealership and we are obviously interested in this vehicle seeing as we called 15 minutes after the open time. Finally the guy calls back and says that the person test driving left to get some lunch and needed more time to decide if they wanted the vehicle....*another big eye roll*.....finally got online application done and started our trek down to pick up our new vehicle. I mean leave the dramatics for your mama, we are not interested in games. Although they were playing their car salesman games, we love the truck and it was cleaned up really nice. We were able to get most paperwork done online so when we got there to pick it up we didnt spend a lot of time there at all. And this is the conversation via text message that follows: (From the salesman) -Morning Mr. Langford this is Eduardo with Emmons Autoplex, I'm following up on your recent visit, my tech look a the vehicle and confirmed it was not a leak on the truck , it was only seepage due to the year of the vehicle, we proceed to wash and clean the area to verify and its all good to go, let me know if you are still interested. (Reply) - No, I am not interested because I know for a fact that my son and I both watched the dripping of the oil off of the valve cover area. Your tech calling it a seepage is ridiculous. I was a mechanic in the Marine Corps for 8 years and know that seepage is just an area where moisture is present. Now, if you look in the skid plate and see the collection of oil, this is not caused by "seepage " it is caused by a leak. It's hard to find good, honest people anymore in this world. I will definitely not be returning to Emmons but will ensure that I leave an appropriate review. The lady at the front desk looked it up and said oh that truck has been on hold since May and someone has put a down payment on it. I said so is the truck for sale and she said no it's not for sale. I said why is it still advertised as if it is for sale? The lady replied so others can look at it in case they want to buy it. I said OK I would like to look at it to buy it and she said you can't. It's not for sale. I then asked her why it's still listed and she said that's just what they do. I started the process of purchasing the vehicle when Emmons comes out with an additional $1500+ onto the price of the car and I was like WTF? "Oh, it's anti-theft etching that you cannot reject and this much for document fees and this much for inventory fees" and more and more Bull-Ship. I told them to GTH because I'm not paying BS fees and their "No Haggle Pricing" is exactly that, Bull-Ship!! So, what do you think? False advertising in their pricing, or what? On another note, what's up with all the jacked up pricing on 10 year old cars with +/- 100K miles? Seems to be price gouging. I must contact my lawmakers in Austin and complain. read more

AVOID!!!! Was paid to give a 5 star review initially, see below. I bought, should have walked away, a car on the holiday weekend. It broke down not 4 days after purchase. Had to have it towed and was charged almost $1k total for towing & repairs; Emmons claimed was "inspected", yet they did NOT even change the oil. After leaving a blunt review, Gary calls me, he only offered to pay for the broken part IF I left him a 5 star review. It has now been over 2 months & I have still not received the registration or license plates. I have called several times to ask the status and after about 2 weeks, I finally had someone with a brain realize it was delivered to a wrong address. Emmons answer was for me to go to my local tax office & get my registration & plates. My contract shows I paid them $335 in TT&L and they STILL can not do the job they were paid for. AVOID!!!!!!
