Had to have it towed and was charged almost $1k total for towing & repairs; Emmons claimed was "inspected", yet they did NOT even change the oil. After leaving a blunt review, Gary calls me, he only offered to pay for the broken part IF I left him a 5 star review. It has now been over 2 months & I have still not received the registration or license plates. I have called several times to ask the status and after about 2 weeks, I finally had someone with a brain realize it was delivered to a wrong address. Emmons answer was for me to go to my local tax office & get my registration & plates. My contract shows I paid them $335 in TT&L and they STILL can not do the job they were paid for. AVOID!!!!!! The no haggle price is a misnomer. You will find in the "Dealer Notes" buried in the middle of the fine print that they add on almost $1,000 for anti-theft etching and Dealer Services. They then tell you that every dealer does it and try to make you feel stupid for not wanting to pay it. Having been in sales, I know that these feels are just extra profit for the dealership. When I suggested they just add those "fees" to the price, the sales person said then no one would come in. It's classic bait and switch, but they have taught everyone to spout the "it's on the Web site" when pressed about it. I'm very disappointed that Emmons is just another stereotypical used car lot. We did our research and were prepared for the no haggle price and the add on fees. Decided to speed things up and use their financing because it was getting late in the day and went on a whim so we didn't have our pre-approval. I had a chance to purchase a vehicle from Emmons. First off, it was like pulling teeth to get someone to give me a call or reach back out. I felt like I was sell them a car the number of times I reach out with no response. But I ended up getting them to reach back out to me. I really put up with this because the vehicle they were selling was reasonably priced and had a great one owner carfax history. Anyways, they are a no haggle dealership when it comes to the price of their vehicles. The price online is slightly misleading because they add security etching and misc dealership fees that almost add $1200 to the price on top of TTL. But even with that I thought the price was reasonable. When I arrived I did have a chance to negotiate my trade in. I didn't like the fact that the "value my car" section on their website is not really something they follow. But I was still able to get more than I was offered from Carmax and Carvana. Make sure y'all are ready to negotiate because Greg is a good negotiator (it's his job). At the end of the day I probably could have gotten a couple hundred more but I had a set number in my head and I got to that number with my negotiating skills. I did have an inspector go to the dealership and inspect the vehicle. To the credit of the dealership they were willing to address all issues that were pointed out within reason. Overall, the customer service is not great and the sales process is very transactional. During my test drive the salesman was on his phone texting and didn't make an effort to have a conversation so I had to start the conversation. If you care about that stuff then this is not your dealership. But if you are just trying to buy a car at a reasonable price and feel like fell like you are a just a number and another sale then this is your place. Personally, I don't care too much about customer service (although it is nice to have) unless I feel like I am being disrespected. If you aren't disrespecting me then we can move forward. Just going to throw this out there. I have been a "car guy" for 40+ years. Bought, sold, traded.....etc. Twice I have looked at their inventory, looks like they have a good inventory selection-prices ARE much higher than market- $2-3k over....do your research. I drove and hour down to deal on a car I would have paid over market for.....however. That's not where they get you....BEWARE of the hidden fees. Dealer prep...what---- that is the cost of doing business-what prep? Security Etching....in other words we add a service for $99 and charge you $499. Just be prepared to add $2k on top of an already inflated price. Do yourself a favor, expand your search find a car at the right price without all the hidden fees and have it shipped in. Bought a car and had major issues right out of the lot, including CV joints, engine mounts, etc. The warranty purchased did not cover mechanical issues as promised from day one and they blamed everything on others, including their own "young" mechanics I took it to get second and third opinions, tried to reason with Greg the GM to repair the problem. He just blamed the other mechanics I took it to and said I was asking for too much with a used car. What it comes down to, is they don't inspect their cars thoroughly as they advertise. They could care less about customer service or adhering to their mission to put customers first. Definition of a sleezy car place that does not take responsibility. One star is too high for this experience and place. Beware. Also, was charged for new shocks and when I went to mechanic today they showed me Emmons had not replaced but merely painted over old shocks to make them look new! read more

To The Veterans of the Great State of Texas, I am writing this review of Emmons Autoplex in Webster, Texas, something I have never done before but feel is the right thing to do to save my fellow Veterans the most undesirable and unprofessional experience I went through Veterans Day 11-11-2024. I served in the USAF and left with a 100% disability that holds no weight, but I want to assure you I am a Veteran. My wife totaled our 2008 Honda Element on Saturday, 11-9-24. We used the car to hold our German Shepherds and needed to replace it immediately. After taking care of the accident, I got home and began a search for Honda Elements. I found the one we liked at the Emmons Autoplex in Webster, Texas. I called to see if the vehicle was available at 8:55 am; Eduardo answered the phone. I told him we were in Waxahachie and wanted to buy the car; he replied you need to leave a $500.00 nonrefundable deposit; no problem; I gave him my card, but he did not tell me they charge a fee to use a credit card. I told him we were leaving in ten minutes. I said we are buying the car. It's one owner, and the carfax is clean, he told me. I told Eduardo I did not want to spend 4 hours in the dealership, and he said, quote if you wish to buy the car; it only takes an hour to get everything done. I said great. I'll use the credit app online while we are driving down. Get everything done. No problem, sir, we will get you in and out. Credit Score 770 on all 3 Bureaus. 4 hours 1:20 pm we arrive. Eduardo is working with customers. The car was nowhere to be found 30 minutes later. Eduardo showed up. It took him an additional 20 minutes to find the vehicle. We didn't even drive. The vehicle will take it. Let's go. He sat us down again, and 30 minutes later, he called us into the office. He started the paperwork but could not find the finance app I filled out. He told me I did not fill the app out. Another hour went by, and we still did not see Eduardo. Then he showed up. Oh, we can't get you approved. BULLSHIT! So, in another 45 minutes, we have you approved at 10.5% interest by now. I do not care. Write me up, and I'll pay it off when I get home I called Welby Bank, another fraudulent company, a joke, and paid the loan off before they even started the paperwork. Last, they would not give me a plate or registration; we have been at this shit hole for 4 hours now. I lost my FN mind. Well, you don't have insurance. I gave you my cards. I have insurance on my Lexus, my 2024 Denali, and the 98 Element we wrecked yesterday, Eduardo, you don't have insurance on this car. This guy is the most incompetent, worst salesperson in the history of the car industry and should have been terminated immediately for the way he treated my wife and me. This was the most unprofessional, disrespectful transaction ever from the General manager to the desk manager to the finance manager. The only nice person was the receptionist. Emmons is a Toilet. Finally, we left and got home at 9 pm, 14 hours to deal with Emmons Autoplex. And now they will not send my tag and registration. They want me to drive 4 hours one way to pick it up. Do your research and BUY SOMEWHERE ELSE! I live in CA and inquired about one of their cars online. A virtual assistant automatically generated an email conversation for about a week, but nobody even cared enough to call me about a potential sale. I decided to call and even that took a couple of times to actually get a hold of a salesman. The car was WAY overpriced according to KBB, cargurus, and cars.com. About $8k overpriced. The salesman said that they don't negotiate and they guarantee they're the cheapest within a 300 mile radius. A week later, I found the exact same car in CA with only 6k miles more but was $8k cheaper. Clean Carfax and one owner vehicle. I was shocked that a CA dealer was not only cheaper, but MUCH cheaper and it was a certified dealer. Don't waste your time with this dealership. TLDR, this is not a buy-here/pay-here lot. This is a massive Carmax scale competitor. I'm not a fan of most car dealers and I regularly walk out of them without buying. The extra fees and the crazy prices are the new normal. Emmons charges for VIN etching and dealer prep. I think the total was $800. Nonsense, but I knew that going in. On the flip side, I got four new Michelins, fluid changes, some minor repairs, and a really thorough detailing. I also saved $20 on a VIN etching kit from Amazon. The $800 was a gift to the dealer and it was just part of the price of the car. The typical car of the year, make, and model I was looking for was well over 100K miles, poorly taken car of, and would cost about $5-6K at 18-years-old. Emmons had one that was 23K miles, garage kept, and in pristine condition. It was the nicest car of that type in the country. It was also the most expensive. If it was 2005, it could probably have been sold as new. The one customer looking for that car found the one dealer who had one. I didn't get a good deal, but I got a fair one. I paid too much for my new old car and got a fair trade-in offer on the old one. We were greeted quickly for our appointment, we had a nice long 15-minute test drive, the conditions of the sale were clear, and we had our trade-in appraised. We didn't feel rushed, stalled, or left to wait. The sales person did have to check with management, but it was very quick. We had about a five minute wait for the finance person and then we were done. The experience was pretty great. If I needed "a car", I probably wouldn't have shopped here because of the prices and the add-ons. Since I needed "this car", it went pretty well. I got a very gently used car in new condition for 25% of what a new one would cost and shopped in a comfortable environment. The next day, my wife remarked, "This is a place I could go to shop for cars.". That's a win. read more

I was ready to change my mind about buying one. Then I read the reviews about all the non-negotiable add ons once in the sales office which did it for me. They sold me a janky Q50 I looked over all the car facts and they told me it was a good car. Fast forward 3 weeks in it starts to have problems. Such as oil consumption issues and rattling I took it to Infiniti to get it fixed and I ended up needing a new engine. Be aware that once you pick out a vehicle, test drive it, decide you want it... they tack on charges that are NON-negotiable and that add up to about $900+ to the price. These are: window VIN etching and another roadside assistance or some kind of similar "insurance" (I stopped listening after we were told it was non-negotiable.) They also do NOT haggle on price. I was impressed by their selection and they detail them to be pristine. Also our salesman Shannon was awesome, running around to set up test drives for a couple cars we liked, but that is where our good experience ended. We have excellent credit and were also able to pay cash, so whether we financed or paid outright, they let good customers walk away. They wasted about 2 hours of our day (as well as the salesman) because they don't tell you about the fees etc, up front. At least it isn't obvious that we saw and we learned about it all later in his office when we decided on a car to buy. read more

I think we can all agree that the car buying experience sucks, but this dealership made it SO MUCH WORSE. We test drove a car, liked it, sat down to look at the paperwork and there were a couple of additional fees (one being $400 for theft warranty; the car we wanted was not worthy of being stolen, so we asked to opt out). Our salesman told us he was unable to make that call and would need to talk to his sales manager, Greg. We had to wait about an hour for him to get with Greg because there was a line out the door with other salesmen waiting to speak with him. When we finally got our chance to speak with Greg, he spoke on end about stats related to the company, then he told us a long winded story about his family. After he finished all of his story telling, he told us no, they never waiver these fees. We asked why the salesman couldn't have just told us that instead of making us wait over an hour to hear that and he said the salesman didn't have authority to make that call?? Greg was extremely rude and tried reiterating the importance of the theft warranty, telling us how his son had his car stolen 7 years ago (who cares?). Unfortunately we did end up giving them our business because we were in a bind and did not have the luxury of time to keep shopping. Note to the Sales Manager (Greg): if you are going to waste customers valuable time, give them the discount. Otherwise, cut to the chase or give your salesmen autonomy to make these decisions. I had an excellent experience buying multiple cars from Emmons! I bought my first car, a Pontiac Solstice, from them in 2014 at their dealership in Pasadena. Recently, I purchased a fully loaded, beautiful Range Rover from them that was in pristine condition. They gave me a great price for my trade-in vehicle and I walked out with an amazing deal on the Rover. I could tell the previous owner of the car took great care of it, and it was also detailed nicely when I went for a test drive. Since making the purchase, the owners and staff have exceeded my expectations to take care of any service issues that arise and make sure I still love my car!! I bought a 2021 F-150 in April, got a decent deal and was pretty happy. The owners manual was missing and I had it written into the purchase agreement the dealer would order one for me. I've been ghosted ever since, called four times and left a VM for the salesman. I called once and explained the situation to the receptionist and she patched me through to the parts department (not sure why). The parts manager promised me she would talk to the right person would call me back, that was a month ago. I'm glad the truck runs well, not sure what kind of support I would receive if I had issues. I saw a Tahoe that I wanted pop up on Facebook, and when I inquired about it Donny got back with me and made sure I was taken care of. We went in for a test drive rather late, but Donny was able to get me an appraisal for my trade and what I would walk out of the door paying. We came back the next day and closed the deal. There weren't any hidden few or weird cost thrown in last minute. Of course we asked if they could lower the price by $500 or so and were told no. Was I upset? Not at all. It's a car dealership they are here to make money and the Manager explained why the car was listed at the price point I got it at. Plus the Tahoe I got there were a lot of people wanting it if I wouldn't have gotten it. All in all, I'm happy with my Tahoe and I'm happy with Donny's service. read more

Went back to dealership two days later to complain and they said there was no returns. Asked to return it at least 4-5 times during the conversation. The answer I got was we don't do returns and there is no return policy. Started having issues with it now and costing money to fix. You must have your vehicle inspected before you buy from Emmons. Terrible place to purchase a vehicle. I was looking to trade my truck for a 2019 mustang GT there that listing for 39k . When I came , the seller does not allow to test drive because of an "expensive" car...they valued my truck 2k less than other dealers. The seller seemed not care about if I can get it or not, multiple time refuse my offer , perharps he did not think I have ability to buy it. They checked my credit and stated that I need cosign to get financed. The seller never tried anymore and refuse to sell it. Finally they kicked me out from back door ! Btw, their dealer fee was twice comparing to other dealer. The next couple day, I brought my truck to Autonation to trade for a 2021 mustang GT premium. Here they took my trade in for exactly what they appraised online without any further question. They gave me the key and told me feel free to test drive it, not BS like what I have experience in Emmons Autoplex. I went thru all process and able to drive home with an approviate APR from a bank. The final amount of the 2021 mustang was even less than what I got for the 2019 mustang, with half of Emmons's "dealer fee". If you looking to purchase a vehicle nowadays, stay away from Emmons Autoplex. They don't really care about customer and may laugh at your back when you walking out. read more

I would give them zero stars if I could. My daughter is an active duty US Navy Sailor. She was home on leave from deployment and we needed to get her a vehicle to take back and then be shipped over seas. We should have been leery from the beginning as the salesman Kevin, was rude and offensive. They have a "no-haggle" price but they also like to charge for extras when you try to get a drive-out price. However, the vehicle was what our daughter wanted, so we made the purchase. We had the vehicle 17 hours exactly - picked it up at 7pm and at noon the next day, it overheated. After waiting on the side of the freeway for 6 hours, we finally got a tow truck. We asked them to unwind the deal and they refused saying it was a bad thermostat only. When they got the thermostat replaced after another 48 hours, they determined it was blown head gaskets. After 3 days they finally agreed to unwind the deal, however, this is where they got even more shady! They gave us half of the $31k back, and then gave us excuses for us to not get the remaining funds. Our sailor needed to get a vehicle and head back to her home base. Only after 5 days and finally threatening a lawsuit did they refund the remaining money. We did find an honest dealership with an honest staff and they helped us. I do have to say, the service manager Brandon was the only honest one of the group. The finance manager Jeff Miller, and the GM Greg are as crooked as the come. I have contacted KHOU and ABC13. I bought a Jeep Wrangler from this dealership in 2023. I just bought tires for it and the installer brought to my attention that the Jeep had 3 rims that were not for the jeep and the wrong size! So I was sold a vehicle with 3 rims on it that are the wrong size and two that were the correct size (the hub holes are different diameters)!! Essentially due to the rear rims and spare not being able to be put on the front of the jeep, I will not be able to ever rotate the tires and if I have a flat on the front, my spare tire is useless! Now I am having to buy a new set (of correct size rims) for it for a sum of just under $2,000!! I attempted to contact the manager for Emmons Autoplex several times to see what could be done about this due to this issue not being caught during the inspection of the vehicle, with no response from him.
