So even before we so much as got the first part of our order, my friend and I had to move because someone was smoking. No restaurant with public space should allow smokers She ordered a waffle, I had eggs Benedict. Benedict was decent. I tried her waffle - bad idea. The waffle was so tasteless and dry I had to ask whether or not I was eating cardboard. I ordered then a caprese salad. The mozzarella was not the freshest and it was painfully obvious. My husband and I went here on a Saturday night and all we wanted to get was some light desserts and a hookah. Once we sat down the waiter told us that our order had to be $15 minimum EACH and that's NOT including the $35 hookah we were getting. We asked to speak to the manager and when our waiter went to get him the manager and a couple of other waiters looked at us and pointed while having some type of meeting behind the glass inside the restuarant but he never actually came out to speak to us. Instead he sent back our waiter to tell us "these are the rules".... We've come to this place to eat and smoke hookah several times and we will no longer be giving them our business. First that rule is completely ridiculous as they lost $50 including the hookah, and we might've ended up spending more the longer we stayed. Second, the manager was completely unprofessional for not coming out to speak to us when we requested to speak to him. We felt completely disregarded! So instead we decided to try this nice spot called BLU a few blocks away. Better service and more spaced out that way everyone isn't on top of eachother inhaling all that cigarette smoke. Worst service ever, we sat down at 10:30pm and got a hookah, 15 minutes later the waiter gave us the check and told us that we have to pay the bill and leave because they close at 11pm. We were never told that they close at that time prior to sitting down and we would have never stayed if we were told that from the start. I was there with a group of 5. The woman at the door was very problematic, she told me things like you cant share a cake with other people, therefore each person had to spend at least 15$. She didnt wanna let us in, saying its a work policy to agree to spend minimum 15 without hookah. It was so crazy. We would have probably end up spending way more than that, but the way she approached the issue made us wanna go to another spot. They lost good costumers. The most horrible service I ever met. We order ice cream, 25 min later they brought melted ice cream. When we asked why it is melted waiter said t hat is is ice cream and it is melts. We ask him to try to bright it right a way one he took it from the freezer and not to let it set for 25 min. Ordered tea, 25 min later no tea. Ask the waiter and he said that he does not do tea. When I complained to the owner his response was that service is slow because you are sitting inside and not outside. Service here is absolutely horrible. First, my friend and I sit down, and before we even open the menu, a waiter asks us if we're ready to order. We tell him to give us a minute and proceed to wait another half an hour before anyone comes up to us. It may have even been longer if I didn't hunt a waiter down and call him over. When he approached, he grabbed our menus and began walking away without taking our order. I quickly stopped him and we finally ordered. Our water was never refilled and we were ignored for a majority of the time. Food took an average time to come out but the curly fries we ordered as a side with the panini came ten or more minutes after the panini. I was sure they have forgotten our order and was very angry at that point. By the time they finally came, the panini was already cold. We also ordered a savory crepe and to my surprise, the food tasted amazing (although I do wish I got to enjoy the panini when it was warm). It's nice that you can sit outside here and their hookah is very smooth, although way overpriced and probably not worth it. This place isn't too bad if you don't mind the horrible service and have the patience to spend a few minutes trying to get a waiters attention if you need something. I went to Emmons Palace last night. I had spent over $100 on Hookah, drinks, and food. The experience was sub-par at best. The waiter was less than excited about his own menu and the other employees were turning off the heaters so that they can empty the restaurant before closing. came here on a sunday night to catch up with my girl and to gossip I have to say this place has improved tremendously since my last visit in 2015. I like how in the colder months they have an insulated patio to smoke hookah [they do hookah specials on Wednesday and Thursday nights where you can get certain flavors for free when you order a dish]. It was separated from the dining room which is smart so people aren't exposed to second hand smoke inside. Oh and did I mention they have belly dancers during the week? You gotta love the location, plenty of parking , open patio in the summer across from the water. The menu has changed , they added much more delicious salads, sandwiches, and grilled dishes. The ambiance of the place is pleasant, warm colors, brand new furniture and tables, a fireplace, huge flat screen TVs, plenty of space. The waiters went above and beyond for us, they always checked to see how we were doing, they made sure our table was clean and that we had enough condiments. The coffee that we ordered was delicious & freshly brewed and most importantly very bold :) The crepe was ordered was large enough to share for two at a great price [10 bucks for a crapload of nutella, strawberries and bananas and whipped cream, who could complain?] They also had a really nice selection of tea , goes great with hookah or any dessert. The only complaint I had was that one waiter was a little too flirty, made me a little uncomfortable but he still was very caring and attentive.
