I've been coming to this place for many years. They used to have the BEST gelato. I came by with a friend last night to get some. Besides the fact that they're taking ZERO precautions as far as social distancing, limiting capacity, sanitizer, or wearing masks, but on top of that the ice cream was DISGUSTING. ONE tiny scoop was almost $6, the ice cream was clearly old and had pieces of ice in it from sitting in the freezer for a year. Okay, this place is just horrible. First and foremost the food is just not fresh, not clean, and most definitely frozen. And it also lacks something huge LIKE TASTE. The food has no taste. Then, there's the service. The guy was nice but like we ordered our drinks to come first and they came after we had finished eating. The entrees don't come together, everything kinda comes when they feel like giving it to you. No order just chaos. Then the bill comes and you understand. They include an 18% service fee already and they don't tell you so if you don't look at your check closely you'll miss it and pay another tip. The price doesn't match the service. Was seated and had to wait about 10 minutes just to get some water. Had THREE different servers assist us at one point. My favorite was after we ordered a different server came to take our order. Clearly not organized. Tried getting a pear rosemary martini and was told that it was seasonal ... one, no, because it was on the regular menu and the print said to ASK about the seasonal drinks and two, if you're not serving it at the time, take it off the menu. Great restaurant that's never too packed, with seating outside and inside, right on the water. Staff: All staff members were friendly, courteous and professional. Yuri was one of the best servers I've seen. He anticipated what we needed before we needed it, his recommendations were on point and he did not up-sell us and told us when we were ordering too much. One minor complain I would have about service in general is: Please bring more tap water, we drank the entire pitcher several times, and often were without water. Food: Delicious comfort food, lots of salads, a large selection of desserts and ice creams. The steak is delicious as well, had it several times. The last time it was a bit chewy but still good. I recommend their chicken wings you get an option of small (6-8 pieces?) or large (14 pieces). Definitely go with the large as they are crispy on the outside and fall-of-the-bone tender on the inside. The sauces come on the side so you don't sacrifice the crispiness. Price: The place is affordable and you definitely can find higher prices around Brooklyn. For 10 people our check with an 18-20% tip was $571. Hookah I'm not sure but I believe it is $35. One of the best hookah I've smoked. The ice tips make it very smooth, the guys making them know what they're doing and will re-light it repeatedly at no charge. Lots of fruity flavors, I suggest Mango - Peach - Mint. Location: As I've said previously there is seatting outside and inside. Outside has way more seating than inside. Not sure how they handle winter seating but I would imagine the inside gets more crowded. The restaurant is right on the bay for romantic evening walks. Parking: They offer valet parking, the guys will find a parking space for you around the area, they do not have their own dedicated parking. Overall: I've been here many times now and I've enjoyed every single visit. Friendly staff, never too crowded and always something new to try. They are fine with BYOB (bring your own bottle) I don't think there is a charge per bottle. We've brought several bottles of wine and cognac and I don't recall seeing it on the bill. Also they permit people smoking in outdoor dining area, which is flagrant foul of New York no smoking rules in any restaurants. Mind you this is my first review - I hate that it has to be a bad one. The look of the place is great, and as all great Russian Jews do, my friends and I sat and debated the cost of the bottle of cognac behind the glass casing for about 30 minutes before using our phones to conclude the argument. The look is about all this place has going for it. The waiters are not rude due to their Russian nature - they are just rude. My group of 12 was the only group there on a Saturday night, except for the 3 girls at the bar. Common business sense would suggest they gave our group more attention (or any), but nobody had time for that, remember 3 Russian girls at the bar. I am sure the free drinks they were providing netted a great income for the place. The waiter had our order wrong, and him and the bartender had the balls to yell at my group and say last call, either we get it right or that's it. It was a tea order - all the guy had to do is bring a new tea bag from 3 feet away. We spent a few hundred dollars here - and I feel bad that we did I don't want to give this place a single dollars worth of vote of confidence. Speaking of dollars a 20 percent tip for sub par service is the equivalent of highway robbery. Also, the fact that I had to go to get the check and back to bring the waiter money explains the service at this place. To the owners one note: I've been coming here for a long time. Neither I nor my friends are interested in coming back. If the attitude of the place matched the look you could have kept 12 customers with fairly deep pockets. I guess you guys have bigger and better plans for this place than profit making - which is cool. Fire the shitty staff, and higher people who can and want to actually serve a customer base. Went here on a Saturday afternoon. The decor was alright, albeit a little run down. We sat outside with a greenhouse like cover. I was with a group of non-smokers and they had hookah right next to us (we were in a sealed off section). The waiters weren't very welcoming. I had a crepe and a sandwich.The food was decent, nothing special. My crepe was made more like a quesadilla and tasted more like one than anything else. Overall our experience was that there was nothing to write home about...nothing here to come all the way back for. Decent to try once than anything else. I've had worse though so I can't complain. So originally I saw a post my friend had put up on instagram with this location tagged, there was hookah, drinks & food so automatically I go on yelp and search for the place and read the reviews. After reading all of the horrible reviews I decided I wasn't going to even check this place out BUT my boyfriend suggested we go and see for ourselves and I'm glad we did! I guess maybe because we came around early noon? It wasn't busy so the service was quick, we ordered: -hookah, lemon strawberry and mint flavored for $35 -two Stellas which came in pretty big beer mugs, -Shrimps with the heads on (plentiful & delicious) $16 -chicken wings (8 pieces, hot sauce & BBQ on side) $10 And then for dessert we decided to share a slice of the smetannik cake which is Russian cake with sour cream frosting and it was soooo good I think that was $5 - double espresso -blackberry sangria All in all I had a very pleasant late lunch, the service was great, great food portions, beautiful view of the water, and really great hookah. Sucks that so many people had such a bad experience here. Will probably visit again read more

They recently renovated this place and they expanded from just dessert to also serving meals. I came here recently with my friends for some dessert. I've always loved it here because they have delicious cakes and ice cream. I got a tiramisu cake which I thought was quite wonderful and a cappuccino. The cappuccino was a bit too strong for me and tasted more like coffee. They menu is pretty reasonably priced although I'd have to try the main dishes first...the cake was $5 and the cappuccino was a bit over $4. read more

They have a big selection of desserts (cakes and ice cream). The ice cream is over priced and taste like flavored shaved ice with chunks of whatever you ordered. This was a decent spot. Went on a date with my girlfriend and was seated right on the edge with the bay as our view. In the beginning, the service was good.... But confusing. Multiple waiters were serving us and they seemed confused on if we ordered or not. We ordered drinks, mozzarella sticks and 2 shrimp scampis. Two minutes after, I saw a burger come out and served to the table next to us. It looks great so I flagged the waiter to try and change our order. He said he'd go back and check to see if they started our order.... They apologized and said they already started the order.... That's fine. The issue was it took an hour for us to even get our appititizer and longer for food.... So how exactly did they 'start my order'. On top of that, the service after we ordered became increasingly worst despite a million servers running around. The food was good, a tad bland, but it was fresh tasting and plain making it a dish you can walk away not feeling bloated or gross... The prices were pretty standard but the portions were fantastic. Food wise, this place is great, Drinks were Medicore cocktails. Service was bad Also, why was there a 10% service charge on a bill for two??? Whatever, that made my standard 20-25% tip go down the drain... I seriously hate when places do this. Like maybe they have an issue with people stiffing them on tips, but it's an automatic turn off seeing this. I'd go here again, I love the food and atmosphere...
