Stopped by Emmy Squared Pizza this weekend and really enjoyed it. The place is small and friendly with a pretty amazing Detroit style pizza. We also shared some of the fries which fries were perfectly cooked, but the green sauce sauce on it had a flavor that just wasn't for me. I'd prob come back if asked but Nashville has so many good places I want to try it may be a bit before I do. read more

I believe the star of the show here is the Detroit style pizza. I got the colony pizza which had pep, jalapeños, honey, and I added burata as an additional topping but it came on the side. 8x10 size can definitely feed 2 people fine, probably not enough for 3 unless you're not that hungry. The pizza was very solid but a little pricey for the 8x10 size, but definitely worth a try! Also ordered the chicken crunchers, which weren't that great. I'd pass on these next time. Yet another Nashville staple! Haven't tried the burgers yet (supposed to be ) but every pizza that we've had has been AMAZING. Our go to is usually the Big Ang or the Good Paulie; but honestly, you can't go wrong with any of the pizzas. Staff is always helpful and friendly. The vibe is really cool; not sure if they're INSIDE one of those metal shipping containers or if it's the aesthetic. Regardless, really cool! Great place to have a good pizza with family and friends. Such a cute space in a fantastic location! We were seated quickly even though it was NYE, although our server was a bit inattentive. I ordered an espresso martini - tasty, but didn't taste like there was much espresso in it - it was extremely sweet. For dinner, I ordered the meatball appetizer and my husband ordered the Le Big Matt burger, which the server HIGHLY recommended. We didn't try the pizza this trip. We placed a pick up order. The restaurant was pretty empty since it was late in the evening and it was way too cold to be out. We ordered Jumbo Wings, Kid Pizza Sticks with fries, Kale salad with Grilled Chicken, and a Kids burger with fries. The lemon pepper jumbo wings were big, but they were way too salty. Wingstop has better lemon pepper flavor. The Kale salad was crisp, but the grilled chicken was super dry and had zero flavor. The Kid Pizza Sticks is pretty much cheese bread with mozzarella dipping sauce. As a pizza place you would think it would be a pizza and then sliced as sticks. That was dry as well. The Kids Burger patty was really dry and had zero flavor. The best thing on our menu was the fries. And that was just regular. We spent $72. Definitely not worth the price. Maybe I'll come back to try the pizza, but they couldn't get the kids pizza sticks to be tasty. read more

The hubby I went here to celebrate 3 years of marriage on Super Bowl Day. We arrived on time to watch Usher perform, which we were ecstatic about. From what I understand, this place is always busy, but we were seated promptly. I ordered a gluten-free pepperoni pizza and added garlic cloves and basil and I ordered a shareable Caesar Salad (croutons on the side). My hubby ordered a pepperoni pizza and added mushrooms to his pizza. The salad came out in about 5 mins of ordering. Both the hubby and I raved about good it was The pizza came out around 10-15 minutes after ordering it. Can I just say that my gluten-free pizza was one of the best I have ever had. I have a hard time finding deep dish gluten-free pizza and finally found one and it was mucho delicioso. My hubby had been before and it was his recommendation. All in all Emmy Squared Pizza earned a 5 star rating based on taste and customer service. Oh, last but not least, the crushed pepper they use (Korean crushed pepper), was so damn good. Salad, pizza, and beer for brunch? Yes, please. McDreamy led our adventurous foursome to Emmy Squared after not finding a traditional brunch spot on our second day in Nashville. It was pouring when we arrived but we were welcomed in and sat quickly, likely because it was shortly after 11am. The restaurant is small and was filling up by the time we left later. We ordered beer and mixed cocktails while we attempted to choose from the tempting menu. I decided that some greenery was a good way to start the day so I ordered the Brussels Sprouts salad with grilled chicken. My bestie ordered a Caesar salad while the guys ordered pizzas, a big Margherita and a big deluxe. We enjoyed our drinks and after a not too long wait (I mean, they are baking deep dish pizzas so those aren't going to pop in and out of the oven) we were served our food. The salads were fresh, crisp and so delicious. The pizzas were amazing! I love a good crust and this pizza reminded me of the best focaccia you could ever eat topped with more delicious ingredients. The deluxe had crumbled sausage, peppers and onions and was so good. I had eaten my whole salad but couldn't help myself from eating a piece of pizza, too. The Margherita had fresh mozzarella dollops on every piece and smelled heavenly. We ate as much as we possibly could but ended up leaving a few slices behind since our day's plan was to do a lot of walking. A note about the pizzas - they are deceivingly filling. While they aren't huge in pan size, they are deep and cut into small squares. We should have probably ordered two small pizzas for the four of us considering our salads. But I think that a normal group who only wants pizza would do well with two big pizzas. Anyway, we had such a good meal that I found myself Googling Detroit style pizza recipes. We ordered family style to include--cheese garlic sticks with marinara, Caesar salad and Brussels sprout salad, and two pizzas ( Hawaiian and Colony). I would come back here just to order the Brussels sprouts salad by itself! The pizza is Detroit square-deep dish style and the dough is perfection--soft and chewy and cheesy. Oh, and I can't forget the hot brownie served in a skillet with ice cream --chefs kiss. Service: 5/5 Brittany P. was a cool, friendly and very helpful waitress and she provided good service! When asking for recommendations, she was knowledgeable about the menu and her rec for the Brussels sprout salad was on point. We dined on the rooftop, which is cute, sans the "fire escape-ish" stairwell. If you're wearing heels, please refrain from eating upstairs. Holy cow. Do not skip this place. It is PHENOMENAL. My group and I went here for an early lunch on our trip to Nashville, and this place rocks. I don't have photos of the food, because we ate it all so quickly! We got the breadsticks as an appetizer, and they are absolutely incredible. The sauce that comes with them is fire too. I got the vodka pizza, and I loved it. It's got a great crunch and an even better flavor. My friend got the chicken parm sandwich and really enjoyed it, and my other friend got another pizza that she really enjoyed. Tip - the pizza feeds at least two people. Well first of all this place has the most amazing staff in Nashville! We brought our family here for a carbo load before the Nashville marathon and it did not disappoint. We ordered garlic cheese sticks , a Caesar salad, and a margarita pizza with pepperonis added. The cheese sticks were amazing! The olive oil was delicious and the seasoning was great. Our pizza was also incredible. It is deep dish ish and so filling. Well, ours fell on the ground (kid life) and they immediately brought us another one. We attempted to have it put on our bill and they refused! So stinking sweet. One thing, Caesar dressing has anchovies in it... We haven't even tried the pizza at this point, but the customer service is unmatched. We ordered through door dash and the driver dropped off the condiments with no pizza . We decided to go to the restaurant, however, they were having a private event so there was no dine in. The manager Austin took care of us. He was able to cancel the pizza order that we never got before we decide to go in person and when we came in he did everything he could to make our experience better! I just know this place if a well oiled machine based on the manager and how he treats customers. And for the price, this shouldn't happen. Especially the sausage pizza, there just wasn't sausage on the pie. It felt like the scraps from a pan. Also ordered an espresso martini. Usually a safe drink to order. However it was so bad we had to send it back. I felt so bad, because I never send anything back. The waiter assured me that I was actually the second or third person to send that specific drink back. As for the pizza, first pizza, not the Margherita, the crust was a little sweet for my taste. But not inedible. The second, the Margherita, I could have eaten the whole pizza myself. Consistently delicious food with excellent quality. The "Le Big Matt" burger is absolutely amazing. A good overall burger on a pretzel bun (yay!), and the Sammy Sauce with a slight bit of spicy and the pickles that are a bit sweet make this just an over the top incredible burger. The pizza is the main attraction, and it is so wonderfully good. The crust is like a focaccia bread, and it is excellent. The toppings are top quality, and the flavors are just fantastic. My favorite is the Big Ang, but all of the pizzas are really good. They also now have gluten-free pizza, using Cup4Cup flour. My wife had the Margherita pizza with the gluten-free crust and it was very good. The meatballs are also really flavorful, and also gluten-free. We would dine here regularly when we were living in the neighborhood. Now that we are in the suburbs we don't get in as often, but we got takeout there last night and it reminded us we really need to get back there more often. The food is so good! read more

Caution! T-rex' run rampant here. Quaint cafe on the corner of 1000 main st. They are infamously known for their square pizzas and burgers...which go vote for them for "best in town". I cant speak on behalf of their burgers, but can speak to their za. I had the colony pizza: usually pepperoni, honey, jalapeños. I say usually because for an extra $3 I substituted the pepperoni for sausage. Its a whole stomach issue thang. Anyway! Its a great combination of sweet heat. And the edges are nice and crispy...oh and the cheese pull?! Foghettaboutit! The ONLY reason I left out uh star..not enough sauce. To me the whole dish comes across as delicious cheesy bread. Great staff had just cranked out 20+ pizza's for a visiting college basketball team. Our order arrived 10-15 minutes after placed. The Pepperoni pizza was loaded and delicious (hot honey on the side). Believe it or not, this metal panned made pizza is baked on a conveyor belt and not in a traditional pizza oven!
