The work was a two day process from cleaning out the existing insulation from the attic and adjusting the ductwork, to sanitizing and air sealing all the cracks inside and outside, and filling with R-49 insulation. From the entrance of the house to the attic access, they spent the time putting down a barrier to prevent any mess to the rest of the house. The before and after pictures were very detailed and everything looked great, beat my expectations. Thanks again to Ruben and his team.

I phoned Icon Insulation to set up an appointment to have someone come talk to me about insulation. My call was returned immediately by Luis Torres who set up a time to come by my house the next day. After inspecting my attic and walls, Luis let me know that I had no insulation in my walls and very little, if any, insulation in my attic. He gave me an estimate for blowing insulation into my attic only and then gave me an estimate for blowing in insulation into the walls as well. I decided to have Luis do the complete job. We made arrangements for Icon Insulation to start the three to four day project on a Monday at 7:30am...a nice early start. Except for having to cancel one day because of rain, the project ran right on schedule bright and early each day right on time! Job foreman, Juan, worked quietly and diligently...he was there to get the job done. At the end of each day's work, both the inside and outside of my house were cleaned up. Juan even moved my furniture back where it belonged. Luis was always there to make sure the job was done correctly. The cost of the project was exactly what had been estimated. No hidden charges or repair work to be done. The job started off a little rocky at first where they came about an hour after they said they would arrive but once they got there they worked efficiently and carefully to blow in insulation throughout the entire house and then patched the stucco so that it would be easier to paint over. It was nice they even patched part of the stucco that was broken/missing. They also quoted a fair price and even though they are located about an hour south of Fresno, they completed the job under the time they quoted and also cleaned everything up, including putting back a curtain rod that was knocked over during the project. Some staff don't speak English, but Luis, the project leader communicated well and did things as promised. I would recommend this company to others for blown-in insulation.

Elder and the guys did an excellent job in covering up the entire house and finished the job in 2 days. My house had no insulation in the walls- to very less in the attic. After the insulation my Heat as well as Cold is retained inside the house. Heat turns on once in a 24 Hr cycle vs multiple times in an hour previously. If you are thinking of in wall insulation, it's totally worth it. The quote was the most competitive and they were very flexible. I am still closing out the multiple holes in the wall, will take time as i prefer to do it myself- I had plans to paint anyway .

The addition of two QuietCool fans also seemed like a major plus, as I was already familiar with the product and expected it would significantly help with cooling. When it came to the insulation work, I was very pleased. The crew did an excellent job removing the old insulation and installing the new. They worked efficiently, protected my floors well, and ensured that no insulation debris entered the living areas. That part of the job was handled professionally. However, I was less impressed with the radiant barrier installation. This may partly be due to a misunderstanding on my end, as I expected a different type of material, but the end result did not meet my expectations. The biggest issue, unfortunately, was the installation of the fans. At best, it was very poorly executed. The fans are 16" units with 12" duct openings, yet they were installed directly against the gables, which severely restricts airflow. Proper installation should have included a box or shroud to help direct airflow effectively through the fans. Because of this poor airflow, the fans do not cool the attic--in fact, they appear to make things worse. I can actually watch the temperature on the thermostat increase when the fans are turned on. I reached out to my representative multiple times, but the response was disappointing. I was told they could not take the fans back, and when I asked why the attic temperature increases when they are running, I was told there was no explanation and nothing further could be done. As temperatures continue to rise, I'm left frustrated that I spent $1,200 on two fans that perform the opposite of what was promised, with no meaningful support or resolution offered. UPDATE: After posting my initial review, I was contacted by both the project manager and the owner. I reiterated the reasons for my frustration, explaining that my review reflected my honest impression of what I saw as a lack of clear communication and effective management of the project and customer expectations. The project manager apologized for the communication breakdown and asked if I would be open to giving them an opportunity to make things right. A technician was then sent out, and he took the time to fully understand the issue, carefully examine the installation, and make several adjustments to the original work. He believes these changes will help improve airflow in the attic. Since my attic has some unique characteristics, he also provided helpful suggestions for additional ways to improve cooling and airflow--something I feel should have been addressed during the initial planning stage of the project. Whether these changes will result in significant improvement remains to be seen; I'll have a better sense once the weather warms up. I do appreciate the follow-up and the willingness of the project manager to reach out and try to make things right, and I have updated my review accordingly. That said, I want to be clear that the increase in my rating is largely due to the technician and the time he invested in evaluating the full situation, as well as both implementing and proposing thoughtful solutions.

But even after cleaning it out, the smell wasn't going away. Then the vent started giving off either smoke or steam, and in a panic I immediately turned off the dryer. Thank God I didn't start a dryer fire. The second I shut it off and made sure everything was ok, I opened Yelp and searched for a dryer vent cleaner. Chris's Insulation came up, he had great ratings, he was super close by, so after calling a different service and going to voicemail, I called Chris. Chris picked up after the second ring. When I told him that I needed someone to clean our dryer vent and what had happened, he said he could come out either between 5:00 and 6:00 pm that evening or the next day. It was already mid-afternoon when I called, so I was surprised to hear him say he could still come out same-day, but I decided to have him do that since I was free and also still a little shaky following what happened with the vent either smoking or steaming. Chris showed up during the window he quoted and wasted no time getting to work. He started the second he arrived and was done within the hour. His pricing was incredibly reasonable and fair and so far, in the couple of weeks since he was here, we've had no issues with the dryer. In the back of my mind, I've been stressing that the sawdust and debris could be creating a fire hazard. He came out to our house (in Sac) the next morning, suited up and spent about 15 minutes getting pictures and measurements of the attic. The quote was nearly $3,000 less and he was able to do the job the very next day. The team came by the next morning while we were gone and removed all of the debris and old insulation, vacuumed/sanitized, rodent proofed and air sealed the entire attic, cleaned out our dryer vent (for free), and replaced all of the insulation, including around our skylights.
