I didn't know it was Pizza Shack because the sign above the door says, "Pizza". On the windows it says Diner / Pizza. We went inside, and it was empty. 6:30 on a Friday night. I thought this was odd. Two people showed up while we were there. One customer doing a pick up, and another who came in, saw there was no slices, and left. I had doubts myself, but the owner? Idk who he was, but he was a very nice man, and talkative! I ordered a bacon cheeseburger, and my daughter got the grilled cheese. Mountains of fries (not salted, good for me, not for other people I would assume). So there isn't much to say except the food was great for us. The atmosphere was nice cause there wasn't anyone there, but probably not good for business. Only before we left did we learn it was THE Pizza Shack, so we will have to go back for the pizza someday. I recommend this place, and would like to see it grow, even though it's been around for years apparently. I hope it stays around for a few more!

Ordered a dinner with a spaghetti side.. the pasta had been previously cook and so old and dried out it crunched when bitten into. Soda cooler mostly empty and no customers about at a meal time. 2. Ordered a turkey club, while waiting two customers came in and left after the girl working the counter had her back turned texting on her personal phone. One customer looked at me and shrugged their shoulders and left. Club has two pieces of deli turkey thinly sliced... again soda cooler mostly empty.. 3. Stopped in for a slice at lunch, two people working, place was dirty, soda cooler had only three types of soda, no tea or water. The slices were warmed up and had few topping...didn't appear fresh at 11:30 am. The inside looked like it was gutted of furnishings. Haven't seen ,who I know as the owner, there in my last three visits. If you want poor food, few drink selections, dirty floor and tables while being called "sweetie" a dozen times it's your place!!!

For those of you not in the know, it is the perfect balance and combination of classic pesto, vodka and marina sauce made into a rectangular shaped pie. Whats not to like here, as all three flavors just work. It is a party in my mouth and it has me hooked. Unfortunately the pickup time continues to be long. When I'm told 25 minutes, the actual time my order is ready is in 45-50 minutes. I try not to nitpick but this has been happening consistently. This week, I happened to have a hankering for some apps so I spur of the moment called in for their west ave sampler. I was excited to try it, as the description on their website said the sampler comes with mozzarella sticks, jalapeño poppers, onion rings, breaded mushrooms, mac and cheese bites, chicken tenders and fried ravioli with your choice of 2 sauces. I didn't expect a mountain of apps but a nice serving size. I asked if I could substitute the jalapeño poppers for extra mac and cheese bites as I cannot eat spicy. I was told over the phone no problem which I thought was very nice. After grabbing my order and driving home, I noticed that the mac and cheese bites were missing. I called over and was placed on hold after telling them about the missing item. When the lady got back on the line, she said she checked with the kitchen and was told it was in my order. She then said I don't know where your mac and cheese bites could have gone! I am stumped as she was putting the blame on me. I am a truthful person and would never think to do something dishonest like that. You can only imagine how taken aback I was. In my opinion mistakes happen all the time so I was not calling to give them a hard time. I only wanted to get the extra mac and cheese bites that I initially asked for. After some hesitation over the phone, I was told that they would make an order of said item which I could either pickup or they would deliver. I was happy that they delivered the item to me, as I am not far. It took awhile to receive, as the long wait time is the norm here. Alas, when I got my delivery it was not the extra mac and cheese bites that I originally asked for but 5 small nuggets. Again, not to harp on things but I am a customer willing to pay more if that's what it takes. I am not one to expect it to be given to me. Needless to say, these experiences has left me sad. I really wanted West Ave Pizza to be one of my regular go to's. Their pizza is good, but customer service and overall issues here are just too much for me.
