In the genre of Chinese Take-out restaurants located in strip malls, this place was perfectly acceptable. We went there for dinner. I had the Singapore Mai Fun (Singapore curry noodle with shrimp, chicken and pork). Nicely done, compared to many other similar mall style Chinese places. Staff was friendly and helped me find what I wanted on the menu. It was a perfectly sized portion and good deal at $9.61 with water and a pot of green tea. I have to say, this meal was exactly what I had in mind when I walked in. They didn't skimp on the shrimp, it wasn't too oily, and the pork was flavorful. There is not much ambiance, but I was there for a quick, reasonable, meal and this place hit the spot. Is it a date place? Heck, no. Fancy place? Not even close. Should be called the Empire Wok Not Run! It's unbelievable how slow this place is. This is my second visit. The food was ok but the last time I came I was blown away with how slow the service was. There aren't enough hours in the day to sit and watch one person behind the counter and two cooks in the kitchen move at a glacial pace to whip up my order of chicken and broccoli. And when I ask if they could hurry because I'm in a bit of a rush they look at me like "hey, where's the fire buddy?" Well, it's certainly not under your butt! How do I describe Empire Wok? Serviceable. Its food is nothing to write home about. To be honest I have never eaten in the resturant and now due to the states "no eating in the restaurant" non sense it will be a while till I try the bar. Although it seems there is little to no difference in take out or eat in when it comes to their food. I've eaten here twice and I'm not impressed. the food while nice and hot, lacks that all important factor: FLAVOR. whether its a side like the lo mien and app like the crab rangoons or an actual main dish like beef and broccoli general Tso's chicken or seafood base. Its just not there, some of the dishes piqued y interest but I won't waste my time and money. Don't get it twisted everything else is great but if the food doesn't have the taste. Then why spend the $$ or waste the calories (if you are watching your weight)? I honestly JUST DON'T SEE IT. and if your a fan, all the power too you but Ill be moving on and/or holding out for other restaurants during this (manufactured) crisis. read more

This is one of my brothers favorite restaurants and because of that I eat from here quite often. The food is great and the employees are always very nice. I have never felt the need to complain about this place, it's great. It's a bit hidden next to the gym and bowling place but it is a great place to eat at whenever you're hungry! read more

Overall my experiences at Empire Wok have been fantastic. The service is quick and the restaurant itself is very well maintained. The staff is always kind and ready to help. The Sesame Chicken is an easy favorite for My Coworker's and Me. As well as the General Tso's, Curry Chicken, and Orange Chicken. The Servings are big enough for two! (unless you are extremely hungry...) The Ham Fried rice is definitely some of the best around. But best of all Lunch is just $5.25 and it taste's great! read more

I love this place. My husband and I live across the street and try to come whenever we can. Food is great, they are very affordable, and huge portions. The owners are so nice, one time we walked over and they had a treat saved for our dog (pets aren't allowed in, we just used to walk over so much they remembered us). This is an authentic Chinese restaurant with a nice little Chinese family running the show. The portion sizes were very large for how little they were charging. The food was very good and it was prepared really quickly. It was kind of a hard place to find in a strip mall but I'm glad I found it! Overall good place to eat. Way better than Panda! read more

I ate at the Empire Wok a few weeks ago and I thought it was a good bang for your buck. We were going to go to the sports bar next door because we had heard they had great food but it was crazy noisy in there so we decided we'd try Chinese. There was a definite family feel to the place and the staff were friendly although I will admit the cashier didn't seem to happy to be there. she looked like the only one that wasn't related the family. The portions were big, which I loved, and overall I thought the food was good for a Chinese joint. I would go back again with my family for sure. read more

After trying all the local Chinese Food places in the draper/sandy area. This one beat them all in quality & Flavor. Very large portions one could feed 2. I ended up getting 2 lunch specials with 2 drinks though, came to $17. So ($14) without drinks if your one who can just do with water. So basically a couple who eats lite & wants to eat cheep could get a very quality filling meal for under 7$. I gave 5 stars because you get more then what you hoped for or expected with a joint like this. My only negative critique is the hot & sour soup (which is my favorite type of soup) didn't have much flavor and wasn't very spicy. If your looking for the best hot & sour soup this might not be the place. (Try Red Dragon) but since I still enjoyed my meal both times I went. On 1/2/18, I called and ordered shrimp with mushrooms for take out. When I got to work, I called the restaurant back that my order is wrong. I ordered shrimp with mushrooms, not shrimp with vegetables. The lady said they come with vegetables, I need to specify that I only want mushrooms. I was not happy, so I took the food back to the restaurant. I told the girl at the front desk about my order and she explained again, that what I ordered comes with vegetables. I'd ask where on the menu says that, because it says it comes with rice, not "vegetables ". She kept arguing the fact that it does come with vegetables, instead of looking at menu and listen to my concerns. The Asian guy behind her kept saying that he'll remake it, at this point I'm so pissed off at the girl and was refraining myself from reaching across the counter and slam her face in the shrimp and vegetables. I hope someone at the restaurant read this. Maybe you should listen more, instead of arguing the fact that your menu is right. Check your menu again, shrimp with mushrooms should be just it, not with other vegetables. If that's the case, you should change it to shrimp with mushrooms and vegetables. read more
