Authentic. Reasonable. Friendly. Tasty. Large portions. Love this place! My only complaint is it's a little salty

Dinner here is consistently good. We dined as a group of 12 and had a traditional Cantonese feast…read morewhich typically consists of 8-10 courses meant to be shared. The teens in our family raved about the salted egg yolk fried crab. We have dined here a handful of times since they've opened in the last few years and noticed their service gets better and better with every visit. The wait staff are really on top of it. They keep a mindful eye and also offer a delightful dessert service at the end of the meal, fresh cut fruit with sweet tong sui soup. While there are plenty of Cantonese restaurants in Elmhurst, the thoughtful and respectful team at Ocean Bay make all the difference. I heard their dim sum is quite good too!

Since we have relatives who live on opposite ends of Queens, this location has always been a good halfway point. Two things: 1. This place is truly exhausting during dim sum on the weekends. People will try to get on top of you (and I don't mean that in the best way). 2. Dim sum selection is intentionally small and service is slow to provoke you to order the expensive entree dishes. The dim sum is nothing to write home about at all and is just sufficient enough for any dim sum craving. There's no consistency with the quality, as well as the quantity. The same also goes for the large dishes, though I've only eaten dinner here once or twice since the new management, and there wasn't anything memorable. Service is generally okay, but the employees are definitely overworked during the weekend lunch hours. It's as if everyone who doesn't live in or around Flushing comes here, hence the insane crowds.

OG spot, but the food was very mediocre. The restaurant has a classic ambiance, but the execution…read moreof the dishes needs work. We had a few misses: The Eggplant and Salty Fish (2/5) the eggplant wasn't cooked long enough to achieve that desired soft texture, and the salty fish was overwhelmingly, salty. The Sweet and Sour Pork Chop (3/5) had potential, but each piece was sliced too thin and over fried, making the whole thing unnecessarily crispy instead of tender. The Fish Maw Soup (3/5) lacked the depth of flavor we were hoping for. Chicken fried rice (2.5/5): tasted like what you would expect, Americanized fried rice The Highlights: The Mayo Shrimp (3.5/5) was a better dish; we appreciated the nice crispiness, and it was an interesting take to serve the mayo on the side. The Snow Peas with Garlic (4/5) was perfectly executed, fresh and garlicky, a simple but standout veggie dish. FYI: cash only

The food has been consistently well-prepared and flavorful. Although the restaurant is small, they've always accommodated my large groups of 20-30 ppl. Great customer service! The ladies are always very friendly and efficient. Prices are reasonable and portions are large. Some standout dishes: -- West Lake Soup -- Peking Pork Chops -- Whole Roast Duck -- Salt & Pepper fried squid w.green chilies Note: entrees do not come with rice; $2/bowl. Plenty of metered street parking available right outside; or free street parking around the corner if you can find an available spot.

I saw this on TikTok and the food looked so good that I had to try. Mariscos El Submarino have…read moreseveral locations in NYC and this is one of their original ones in Queens. All their locations have pretty good ratings so I can't really go wrong. Came around 11am on a weekend and it was busy but there were tables available. The tables are arranged pretty strategically to fit as many as possible, which isn't the best for comfort. The service is nice here. The menu is in Spanish but they do have an English menu if you scan a QR code. I ordered the craken taco, costra taco, verde aguachile mixtos, a half dozen grilled shrimps, a la exotica, and guac with fried octopus. Everything was delicious! This place did not disappoint. Although, next time I'd probably skip the Craken taco and verde aguachile even though these two are a top recommendation. My favorite dish was probably the grilled shrimp. The way they grill it really brings out the sweetness and flavor of the shrimp. I personally enjoyed the la exotica more than the aguachile. The guac was also really good and the fried octopus was a good addition. I will definitely go to their other locations. This is a must try for seafood lovers.

So this place is like all the hype is about it…read more Very good service Very clean The food is different and very quick , tasty and leaves you wanting more . Position are a bit small for a whole in the wall like this and prices are high especially on the tacos but that's because the quality seems really good and fresh and effort put into it. I will definitely try to come back And come early no reservations have to wait in lines cold or warm you will have to. Maybe they should open another spot or expand but that's their business .

This time, we ordered the deluxe burger with fries and a side of mozzarella sticks both were really good! The food came out hot, flavorful, and satisfying. The service was great, the staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The atmosphere has a fun, casual vibe, kind of like a diner mixed with a bar. One side of the restaurant seems to be more of a party area, while the other side has that bar/diner feel. They also have an outside seating area. Theres a live band that plays, which adds to the energy, though I'm not sure which nights they perform. Overall, it's a solid spot for good food, great service, and a relaxed yet lively atmosphere. Definitely worth checking out especially if you like live music with your meal.

My coworkers were worrying about parking for the 4-5 hour party so I got worried as well (got meter parking the previous time). Good thing I drove around and found so many spots on a side street 2 blocks away. The tables were set up, leaving a small space at the far end for the food and dancing. Would have preferred dimmer lighting for dancing but it was fine. Brought our own speaker to play music. Buffet style for the salad and mains; appetizers were brought to the tables. Meatball apps were a bit salty. Liked the penne a la vodka, chicken francese and the steak. Service was still great. Had option of unlimited drinks/alcoholic drinks and they were brought quickly. Have to remember this place for parties. Or have drinks/eat in the other room where the bar is (I remember there was live music there).
