I used to go to Enchanted Castle as a child, and I hadn't been there in years until recently. I took my son and nephew here. and they had a great time (I think I had a better time then them). this place is big, there are a lot of game there, and not everything is tended towards children. besides the ticket games they also have laser tag, go karts, and bumper cars, which I don't think were there back in the day. The only negative is that the food isn't that great and a few more arcade games would make the experience better. but overall the kids loved it and I had a good time. read more

Enchanted Castle is a giant family fun center facility located in Lombard just off of Main street and Roosevelt Road. It's been open since at least the mid to late 1980s and has passed through various hands over the years but continues to be in operation to this day. First off let's go over the main attraction here, redemption games. From Skee-Ball, to lots of very elaborate games that dispense tickets, to skill cranes to games that directly give out big prizes Enchanted Castle has more redemption games than any place I know in the area. Like most family fun centers the tickets you receive from many of the games act as a form of currency you can use to buy prizes at a large counter with lots of toys, candy and other gadgets. This place was once one of the largest arcades in Illinois and very few video games remain. There's a handful of light gun games and a few others scattered around the facility but for the most part the "game room" area is mostly redemption games. They have a handful of pinball machines in a small room behind the redemption area, mostly newer Stern pinball machines and a Wizard of Oz pinball from some company in New Jersey. The next thing worth noting is that they have an indoor mini golf course. It's mini even for "mini-golf" but can definitely provide a bit of fun especially on a day where it's rainy or the weather would not be supportive of an outdoor game of mini-golf. They also have a laser tag arena set up. At one point the Laser Tag game they had set up was Q-Zar, it's since been converted to a more generic laser tag game. For little kids they also have bumper cars and a gigantic ball-pit/maze. The final noteworthy attraction is that Enchanted Castle is also a restaurant. I don't believe I've ever eaten anything here besides pizza and birthday cake (and it's been years) but they do have a dining area and an animatronic show set up to entertain kids (I tried to get a picture of this but was told no photography is allowed). Overall it's fairly well maintained for a Family Fun Center especially considering these types of places are what seems to be a dying business. If you have kids or are watching someone else's kids, I'd highly recommend taking them here. Four stars for Enchanted Castle. read more

This review is for 2 separate visits. The first one during winter break, the second for March 2017 birthday party. Took my boys 3, 7, & 7 (Godson)yrs to Enchanted Castle during Winter Break. There was a unlimited ride deal and they had a blast! The two oldest boys enjoyed the racetrack the most. The place was clean and mostly empty. The boys also played laser tag, and rode the whipper ride and bumper cars. I enjoyed the four player air hockey the best! I had to drag them out after 4 hours. The oldest (at the time) said he would do anything to come back for his birthday; which brings me to part two. We celebrated the 8 year olds bday in mid February and he had a blast. He got to play a silly game on stage, watch a animatroinic show and ride the whipper and bumper cars on an unlimited basis. The pizza was decent better than CEC and drinks were unlimited. We used the restrooms this time and they looked like they could use a little updating but all in all a great time was had by all. While my little one had somethings to do, CEC is still a little more his speed. However if you have a kiddo 5+ this is a great spot. read more

Came here as a kid (25+ years ago!) quite frequently, and recently enjoyed brining my two year-old daughter. While she was a bit too young for most of the games, she still enjoyed watching many of them and riding on the little merry-go-round and helping daddy play skee-ball. The employees put the dragon show on for her, and she was thrilled. She had lots of fun, and she'll have even more fun once she's a bit older and able to participate in more activities. Another one of those places with so many memories, new and old! In the 27 years my family and I have been going to EC and it changes with the times and never disappoints! Besides consistently remodeling andupgrading games everything is state of the art and I encourage any big kids, family's, and even lovers to visit regularly! I remember going here as a late teen, back when pinball was hot (93'). They had probably 5-6 pinballs at the time. Then as pinball died off, the pins went away and it became mostly a redemption arcade. As of this year they've bought 19 pins (2 metallicas), and a bunch of other late model Sterns. If any break down, please let the staff know because they WILL repair them ASAP. This was a pleasant way to pass the afternoon. Enchanted castle has plenty of arcade games, a play structure, bumper cars, go carts, laser tag and bowling. Pricing for activities is a la carte, with a few bundled options. We ended up spending about $25 per kid (ages 8,6, & 6) during our 2.5 hours. My favorite was the Mission Impossible style laser maze. For me, this is a 5 Star Joint. Why? I ain't never been to such a clean, non-crowded arcade! We did arrive at 8pm on a Wednesday, though.... This isn't the cheapest arcade, but they do have a variety of 1-4 token per play machines and they were all in good shape. They have a kiddie area with smaller games and large, flashy adult-sized ones as well. Probably the largest arcade room I've been to. They also had an amazing pinball room, so if you're a pinball junkie, they have some rare and some regular pinball machines. I'd like to say about....20? They have a play area that was closed, probably reserved for the weekend. Bumper cars and go-karts, laser tag too! I'll be back next week to try the go-karts. They were having a $3 sale for laser tag and go-karts while we were there, so it seems like a cute. fun, cheap date activity for the young at heart. Also, won a jackpot on the balloon pop, so I'm saving my tickets for something special. Enchanted Castle has been entertaining kids since I was a little boy. This expansive entertainment center in Lombard has everything you need to amuse your kids in the cold. The main draw is the huge arcade with video games and ways to win tickets. The games are all $0.50 - $2.00, so money goes quickly if you aren't paying attention. There is a huge selection of prizes to cash tickets in for, but it is your typical arcade low end items. Aside from the arcade games there are go carts, bumper cars, bowling and laser tag. Each of these activities is available for an additional charge or with an unlimited wristband (like $40 a day). They have a large party room with a singing dragon band. The kids birthdays are a little tacky, but they seem to go over well for kids under 10. The food here is decent and the pizza is affordable. One warning - don't come here for real bowling. They have a scaled down 2 lane set up that isn't cheap to play. read more

We were here last night for my nephews birthday party and will never be back. In the course of three hours, two fights broke out! To make it worse, the party that was doing the fighting wasn't asked to leave, not even after the second fight! This is a friggin kids party place, groups of people fighting and screaming at each other in the middle of the party room MULTIPLE times is not acceptable. When we paid nearly $300 on pizzas/a party package here I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a fun safe environment for a group of kids to play. Apparently not. read more

So nice, we went there twice! I should say, the same friend and I went here together two times within one month. We are both over thirty and have no kids. Unlike a Chuck E Cheese or such, this place is cool for people like us because it is not completely centered around children's activities. Sure they do kids' birthday parties, but that's off to one area. There are also a lot of games that are more teen/adult oriented (dance, racing, shooting) -- way more coordination than small or even some older children can handle. The first round was on a Friday night, and it was pretty insane. Some folks hanging out in the parking lot looking...um...well anyway. Inside...MADNESS. Kids, lights, screaming -- no surprise. Some of the games are almost like casino games, but there are the old standbys of skee-ball and air hockey, plus stuff like Fruit Ninja on giant touch screens (think a huge iPad). The variety is fun. They have a photo booth, but know that it has really crappy resolution. The second time we went was on a Monday, during the day. It wasn't a holiday; we just both happened to have the day off, and the place was EMPTY, of kids and adults. It was AWESOME. We played everything, no wait, then mini-golf on their cramped and not-very-challenging course. You can really play a lot for comparatively little money. We spent only about $15 each time (excluding mini golf). It's probably different if you have demanding children, but if you're an adult with comparative restraint, it is possible. Also, on the second visit they'd changed out some of the games from the time that we'd been there just a few weeks before! So it seems that there may be a decent rotation? Prizes of course are silly. For eleventy billion tickets you can win a Darth Vader bobble head that you can buy at Hot Topic for $8. You know what I mean. But it's about the fun of the game! (The first time we gave our tickets to the dad of a tiny girl playing skee-ball; he seemed stunned. Hope they got something cool.) Overall, this is definitely a fun distraction, especially if you have the opportunity to go on a week day! read more

I've been here many times with the kids, never really paid attention to the food. Today we cam and we had more grown ups than kids. We all had different things from the menu. To my surprise everything on the menu was a good size portion and with really good taste. Everyone liked the entire menu. My go to is the pizza with a cold Stella. I know that it's all about the people and the venue. And in this case it's both. Got a groupon and went to enchanted castle for the first time in a long time. It's grown and changed since the last time we were there. There's laser tag and a laser maze, go karts, bowling (which we didn't check out), and tons of games for kids of all ages. There's a restaurant but we walked over to Culver's instead. Spent hours playing laughing and having a lot of fun! We will be back to spend our fun points at another time. Maybe next time we'll also try the food. We'll see, especially since the boys love Culver's. read more

I came to this location because of friend of mine was hosting a party for her son here and overall I felt it was great! The arcade was very nice with a variety of games and none of them were broken which is usually the case at several arcade places. The party room did have a lot of parties in it but that was fine due to the fact that there were smaller sections which provided slightly more privacy. There's bumper cars, mini-golf, laser tag, go karts (forgot to take a picture of them but they were towards the far right of the building in their own section. There were several different little go karts and there was a fairly large racetrack) The staff was very helpful and friendly especially with the children. Overall it was a great experience and such a nice way to spend the day. You saw nothing but happy children all around and it was such a pleasant experience. 10/10 read more

This has been a go to for me and my family for nearly 25 years. It is a shame when one rude assistant manager can turn a positive experience quickly to a negative one. She refused to give me her name because obviously she recognized how she treated me was inappropriate but rest assured I will figure it out and post here shortly. Either way to be insulted at the counter for merely asking what my voucher included will never be tolerated especially when I have spent thousands of dollars here over 25 years + visiting. So...I went to two events recently at EC...one was a princess meet and greet and the other was NYE celebration. Both events were not well run at all and I was really disappointed for my kids. Thankfully they are both young enough that we were able to turn it around. Here are some notes: if u are advertising an event going from 9am-12pm: THE EVENT SHOULD END AT 12PM not cleared out by noon. If the princesses are advertised then they shouldn't leave 45min before the end of the event. NEW YEARS EVE: DONT DO IT. I think that they may have over marketed and overbooked the event. I called two days before an event that advertised "unlimited interactive and video games", stage shows, unlimited rides and attractions and a buffet including pizza etc. I booked my son and I for the 8pm seating. When we arrived we were sat in the side room and had very limited access to anything going on in the main stage area. It would have been nice upon making the reservation to have been told that the main room was filled and that we would have been in an overflow area. We also were given no instruction on how to get food drinks etc. after doing a quick recon we decided to go to the pizza line/free-for-all. For two full to the brim rooms of kids and adults they were bringing out one pizza at a time to the buffet line!!! So 3 people would get pizza and then we would stand and wait again. The "salad" was brought out but no dressing or forks. The fact that there was a 4pm seating, and that reservations were required should have been the cue for management to have pizzas coming out on dollys constantly....not one at a time. The event advertised "adult beverages available for an extra charge" except the woman working the bar couldn't "get the computer for credit cards" to work so that was BS as well. Oh, and they didn't get a liquor license to serve until midnight(and no 'last call' was ever announced) so forget an adult toast for NY. Then we went to play the "unlimited interactive video games" which was, in reality a $10 game card!!! How is that unlimited?! There was also supposed to be cake, nope. I went to The "guest services" desk to inquire about how to get drinks etc and the woman behind the counter was completely irritated that I had the audacity to Ask her for service (note I was a paying guest). My kids are young and still like this place, but as a parent I agree with most comments that Chuck E Cheese is a much better environment, better quality and better value than EC. Like a lot of other people, I have been going to this place for a long time as well. I'm sorry to see that it's managed so poorly and inadequately. Great place for the kids to go to and run around and get all their energy out. Lots of arcade games as well as a foam indoor play structure for the younger kids to enjoy. There's also go-kart racing and laser tag for older kids. I personally think you have to be at least 5 to really enjoy EVERYTHING this place has to offer, but you can get away with an older 2 or 3 year old... just a bit more limited on games/activities to do for them. Food is actually pretty decent here! Came here for a birthday and I liked the wings! Staff is friendly here as well and was definitely patient when it came to our large party. Only negative is probably the emcee at the party... he was a bit pushy and didn't stop when the birthday girl was obviously uncomfortable and didn't want to say anything more on the microphone. Enchanted Castle far exceeded the expectations of two Yelpers who pulled into the parking lot expecting only an outdoor mini golf course. Instead, we found a giant warehouse-like structure promising all kinds of fun. Signs outside advertised go karts, so before entering I said a little prayer that my companion wouldn't be interested in partaking. I loathe go karts. Expectations didn't go up much upon entering... the main room is full of those video games (car racing, hunting, etc.) for which I lack the basic hand-eye coordination and/or mental skill. We head off to the mini golf course. The challenges at this course weren't the spinning windmills or other light-up, animatronic obstacles you encounter elsewhere. Rather, you and your brightly lit (black light!) golf ball are fighting against sheer topography and gravity. Nonetheless, I got two holes in one (I'm awesome!). As we were already out in the hinterlands (ah, suburbia) we decided to check out the rest that Enchanted Castle had to offer. Turns out I'm quite skilled at Air Hockey. Good to know. My skills, however, do not extend to hunting dinosaurs. Rather than deliver fatal blows, I seemed only capable of firing warning shots above their heads causing them to scatter. Sigh. Inexplicably fun, nonetheless, for a girl who always starved to death on the Oregon Trail because she was utterly incapable of "hunting". Turns out, Enchanted Castle is a lot of fun! Seriously. And cheap! I believe we spent $20 total for an afternoon of fun and games (+ refreshing beverages at the end). Props to Enchanted Castle for being open until midnight on some nights. As someone who grew up in various suburbs throughout the country, I know how hard it is to find things to do in that age where you are too "cool" to do younger things yet too young to do things that actually are "cool". Enchanted Castle provides people in this age group another option. Best part: Seeing a Yelper known for his general cynicism light up like a Christmas Tree when I offered to buy him more tokens to play Skee Ball. read more

So...I came here expecting to find a standalone, outdoor miniature golf course. I was not prepared to enter a "fun palace" or "adventure zone" or whatever they call these things--laser tag, go-karts, video games, skee ball, and the (indoor) mini golf course. In fact, I found the entire prospect dreadful, but was primed to play mini golf, so in we went. Mini golf was only three dollars! Oh...for nine holes. Well, it was a decent course, with some fun topography but no bells and whistles. Pretty low on the challenge factor. Of course I dominated again, shooting four under par and winning by four holes in match-play style (eight strokes in traditional style), so now Helena owes me four beers. Well, we drove all the way out to Lombard to play nine holes of mini golf for 20 minutes...so why not check out the rest of the place? As eye-rolling as it was when I walked in, I have to admit that I had fun--a lot of fun. We played air hockey, skee ball, and a dinosaur hunting game! What a genius idea--take that dumb deer-hunting video game and change the deer to dinosaurs! I blasted a bunch of stegosaurs, triceratops, and apatosaurs, not to mention a handful of sneaky oviraptors and a few tyrannosaurs stupid enough to charge me head-on. The fourth level was pteranodons, and I only got one before another one nailed me. I got the high score of the day on my first play (game grade B+), and I have to tell you--hunting dinosaurs is one majorly badass good time. Did you hear what I said? HUNTING DINOSAURS. With a shotgun, rifle, or bow. That alone is worth a 25-mile drive to Lombard. So in the end we cashed in our 91 tickets, and despite my expectation of low value, the counter girl rounded us up to 100 and we got a bunch of candy. CANDY. MINI GOLF. SKEE BALL. AND DINOSAUR HUNTING! For a couple of hours I forgot that I was a college-educated, thirty-ish cynic. read more

But prepare yourself for the possibility of some unsupervised kiddie action running rampantly around the course. As a young lad, I remember the food being pretty decent. But at the same time back then, you could've probably served me EZ cheesz on a bike tire, and I'd gladly ask for seconds. They currently have a special for your first Yelp check-in where you can get 60 free tokens with the purchase of a large pizza and pitcher of pop. This place obviously has seen better days...about 30 years ago!!! Enchanted Castle (EC) is very dated and in dire need of a major face-lift with faded and soiled carpeting, worn tables/chairs and ineffective lighting. Even the exterior is faded and in need of new paint and window decals. The game arcade selection and prices are actually better than Dave & Busters and there's more room to walk between the machines. Laser-tag and go karts seem to be the two main attractions at EC and are in seperate areas of the building. My biggest gripe is actually the planning/scheduling by EC's management team. WHY, and I mean WHY, would you allow 5 or 6 summer camp field trips at the same exact time of the day???? The kids were NOT supervised by "chaperones" and "camp leaders" who were more interested in playing the games or flirting with eachother than doing their jobs. I understand it was a weekday in July but what the heck EC management???? It was so bad that the manager on duty was making repeated PA announcements asking chaperones to supervise their kids immediately. fyi to EC management if you read this review: During my visit I saw atleast 30 of your employees throughout the facility including the restaurant area. I did not see ONE even slightly smile and they ALL seemed to much rather be elsewhere than working in your arcade. Growing up I never went to Enchanted Castle until Showbiz Pizza turned into Chuck E. Cheese and started sucking. It seemed like a magic wonderland, all of those amazing prizes for only a few trillion tickets. As an adult, I find that Enchanted Castle is still just as enchanting, although my gauge of the quality of prizes and food has adjusted. Its a good place for a weekend afternoon where there's nothing to do and for some reason you're stuck in the suburbs. There are bumper cars, minigolf, lasertag and tons of kids game you can cheat at (now that you're taller). Its a fun, silly time. My friends and I will keep going back, I'm sure. read more

Took a look around before committing to the golf and found out the place had a lot more to offer than we thought. What a good surprise it was to come to Enchanted Castle and meet up with some yelpers. I sometimes don't know what to expect when I venture away from the city so I'm always glad when it works out. So the main focus on my visit was to open up a can of whoop ass on some yelpers who seem to talk up a good game! If you are hoping I'd mention any names like Daniel then you are mistaken. :-) Air hockey was the game and it was a fun but heated affair. Plastic pucks flying all over the place! We all continued on to bumper cars where further frustrations were hashed out and with reckless abandonment! Yes, there were rules to follow but nobody cared as we just went for the kill. I'm glad to say we all walked away rather unscathed. There were lots of things to keep all of us busy and it sure did. Some shot basketballs while others bowled but more importantly, my friend and I decided to save the world against some alien infestation which apparently cost us about $20 in tokens. Wall to wall kids fun, worth the drive wherever you are trekking from. I needed a fun place to take my nieces and nephew where they could exhaust a whole lot of crazy, wacky, energy. The castle has been around for many years and like a McDonald's play-place, it's maze arena could definitely use a thorough cleaning. But, I would say that this arena of slides, mazes and floor to ceiling fun is their biggest attraction. The cost of this one play area can't be beat, I think the cost per child was three dollars. (Please make sure your kids are wearing socks, otherwise there is a mandatory $1.50 charge for a new pair.) The castle also offers tons of those ticketed games, where your child must make the most of winning tickets to get better prizes. There are over fifty ticketed games and at least ten percent of them are big winner machines. Meaning, you or your child could possible win tons of tickets from one game. There is a shopping area of prizes that can be attained, though most cost an exuberant amount. The entire area is carpeted so you can be assured your child won't suffer any scrapes from running. The floors are monitored by off duty, local, Police officers and a plethora of staff. Milf's abound. Enchanted castle also offers laser tag, a decent go karting track, bumper cars, a party restaurant with electronic music & live entertainment just like at Chuck E Cheese; this area is only for kids & families. There is also an area of those jumpy things, or inflated jumpers. Not sure if that allows separately purchased admission passes or if it's strictly for rental for birthday parties. Those jumpy things are solid hours of entertainment for my nieces and nephews. Last, Enchanted castle has a full arcade with table hockey, basketball styled shooting games, first person shooters and within the same room as the arcade and bumper cars is nine holes of miniature golf. This place is a sight. I like that the lights and sounds aren't too extreme, as to give adults major headaches, like some competitors for children's entertainment. The buildings which house all of this excitement are set up in a strip mall. For instance the go karting portion has it's own building, but all areas are connected. The worst experience ever! I took my niece and nephew (from North Carolina) there yesterday since they only go once a year when they visit and I was not happy at all. The worker in charge of the playground was so rude with his dirty looks and attitude. The only positive thing about that place was the manager. My son and I were here as guests for a birthday party and let me say the folks here have birthday parties running like a well-oiled machine. The birthday room is huge and there were 3 parties going on at the same time. Each party gets their own section (long tables put together) and their own servers. There's an MC that hosts some fun games for the birthday participant to play (like spinning a wheel for prizes, or getting wrapped up like a mummy). And then there's the animatronic Enchanted Castle band that plays music and sings Happy Birthday. I would guess that each party chooses their food package; we had pizza and it was ok. Each party has a specific time limit in the room because guess what, after you're done eating, the tables are cleaned for the next party coming in to celebrate and the fun starts all over again. After we were done in the birthday room we explored the rest of the castle. I was afraid there wouldn't be much for a 3 yr old to enjoy but I was wrong. A lot of the ticket prize games have smaller versions that he loved. His favorite was a Batman themed game similar to wac-a-mole where you're hitting all of batman's enemies as they pop up and the huge touch screen for Fruit Ninja. There were also some mini rides he liked too. We wandered around a bit and noted the go-cars, laser tag, arcade games for bigger kids, the large play area/tree house, bowling and prize station. The carpet looks kind of worn and the place looks a little dull, but the games look like they are all kept in order. The large touch screen games looked pretty new. The gent behind the prize counter was very friendly and super patient with the entitled brat who barked orders at him while his mouth was stuffed with candy, while his mom texted away on her phone oblivious to her son's behavior. But for the most part, the Castle didn't seem over-crowded that Sunday afternoon and there wasn't a lot of crazy kids the day we visited. read more

My boyfriend and I were in the mood for go karts on a cold Saturday night. Enchanted Castle came up on Google, so we tried it out. 95% of the people there were trashy. The first thing I noticed upon walking in were 2 police officers trying to escort a young, obnoxious lady out. She was screaming, crying and, essentially, being very trashy. Okay.. maybe that's just a random incident. You cannot walk through here properly (on a Saturday, at least). All sorts of kids with parents that are younger than me (I'm 23), bumping into who ever gets in their way. That's fine, I know how these establishments get on a Saturday night. We bought our Go Kart tickets ($6 each) and headed towards the back of the place. The line had about 10 people ahead of us. We were in line for nearly an hour. The 16 year old employees took their sweet time with everything (as expected) and one employee would let random people cut ahead of the rest of us for no apparent reason (friends or family, I expect). Some kids in line were especially obnoxious and rude (no idea where the parents were), they kept bumping into us in line, yelling to one another from opposite sides of the room and just being goddamn annoying. Anyway, with the additional people who were allowed to surpass us, we finally got onto the karts. The karts were awesome! It was incredibly fun. They let you drive around for about 8 minutes. We booked it right away afterwards. There was a police officer walking around the parking lot. Just an idea of what this place is like at night, I suppose. All in all, after a terribly long wait and wanting to strangle a few heads, we had a fun time while on the karts. It was short lived for having to deal with all the crap in between. It's actually a shame because the setup is very awesome - the arcade games looked decent, the mini golf looked amazing and I really wanted to try the laser tag. However, because of the other guests we will not be returning. Too bad. read more

Awesome they definitely updated the games and added a small bowling alley. There's a small alcohol selection for adults. Laser tag and go karts. Had a great time with my eight year old nephew. read more

My family and I went to Enchanted Castle and had such a great time! Played lots of games, laser tag, go karts, and mini golf! We had so much fun being able to play...and I mean the adults getting to play as well as the kids! We had pizza for lunch and it was good. Definitely recommend for a fun family night out. read more
