Well in advance of our holiday dining date, we had chosen this restaurant and booked a reservation for 5. It was a special and rare time for our family with three young adults and busy work schedules to be able to finally dine together. We drove down from Tahoe where we live and have many other choices but when we arrived, they seated us into a small corner by the bar vs in the main restaurant area that had nice seating space, ambiance and a live musician. We asked to move because we were too crammed in, a customer's wagon was stored in front of the table making it hard to get in and out, the fondue plug-in didn't work and we were completely separate from the experience the restaurant promotes on its website. With our request to move being declined, we did our best to make the best of it as it was a special time for our family to be able to be together. Although the staff was friendly, the food was standard but expensive. Most of all, because our reservation was terribly mismanaged by the ownership, we missed the dining experience that we were promised so we won't be returning again and wanted to let others know. read more

Simply put, this place is awful for fondue. It's basically a dive bar (think a bar in college where your arms stick to the tables and power strips under small carpets running all over the place). Cheese fondue conformed to whatever it was on and it's not to be swallowed because you can't chew it enough. We told our waitress and she admitted it wasn't the right mix of cheeses. She tried to add cheeses and told us she would just make us another batch but she came running back after talking to her manager (owner I believe) and said she couldn't make more and that we could just take the veggies home. Wth? She ended up taking $10 off the bill, cheese fondue is like $40 so we paid $30 for some bell peppers and dried bread that we didn't want to take. It Meat fondue, broth had zero flavor and two of the four meats come already cooked! Why?! The meatballs come to your table frozen and they were the most flavorful one because they were just frozen meatballs from the grocery store. Chicken was already cooked. Why?! We cooked shrimp which was decent but the filet mignon was cheap cardboard with zero flavor that we couldn't eat. The dipping sauces for the meats..haha! One is called Parmesan Italian. It is Kraft Italian dressing with Kraft cheese on top. The bbq sauce, again, just Kraft from a bottle nothing unique about them. If you want to call yourself a fondue place AND charge more than a place like Melting Pot then at least have something of quality. Chocolate fondue was good minus what hard crunchy stuff was on top. Why?! Was it sea salt or broken up hard candy. Service was poor and took at least 15-20 minutes between courses. The restroom was actually surprisingly clean (didn't expect that based on the rest of the restaurant) and the place to be. This place is SO overpriced for what you get. If you've ever had fondue at a real place, or even ever dipped a nacho in cheese at home, then you will be extremely disappointed by this place. read more

What a fun and unexpected experience! I have to be truthful. I've been driving by this place since it opened and thought, "What the heck is this place?" numerous times. Thankfully our neighbor invited us out to dinner so we could see what the place was all about. We had a reservation and was seated promptly. I was taken aback by the decor inside, the twinkling lights, the feeling like you're really in an enchanted forest. To top it off, the staff was dressed the part, as children of nature, and handed us twinkling halos to wear upon sitting down. I was NOT expecting any of this but was pleasantly surprised overall and decided to just immerse myself in the experience. The menu offered a number of tasty options for omnivores, herbivores, and non-glutenavores. From snacks, to main dishes, and creative desserts. It was great! I had the Cornish Pasty Pie which sounds a bit off but was extremely flavorful and filling. My husband and I also split a sweet Caramel Apple Crepe for dessert and it really hit the spot. It was light and sweet but not overly sweet. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the experience. Definitely not something You'd think to find in Placerville, but glad it's here. My girlfriend and I came in for lunch. When you you walk in the door the vibes hits you. Just totally transformed from what was there for 30 plus years!So inviting and light and the atmosphere magical in decor and vibe. We split 2 dishes the the vegetarian eggplant lasagne and chesse,fruit and prosciutto platter with this outstanding fig sauce!Both dishes were excellent in flavor combonations. Our server was very kind ,attentive and food served on time.All in all a great dining experience and fun atmosphere! The décor is immersive and whimsical, it's difficult to not get swept away in the magic, you are transported into another time and place, and you will love it! So much fun! We went and just sat at the bar where we were pleased to meet Tai.{?} He let us have tastes of 2 meads and I guess I am now a Fan! Who knew? The second time we brought our 4 year old Granddaughter to see the fairies and she was so thrilled that we got lite-up rosebud crowns! The transformation of this place is awesome and the people so nice and magical! They made the four year old a grilled cheese, which wasn't on the menu, and I had the baguettes, they were great, you get to choose which ones you want. We were really excited to try this place especially because they had fondue. But sadly the quality was NOT worth the prices. It took more than 15 minutes to put in a drink order. Then they were out of a bunch of stuff. The quality of the cheese fondue was terrible. Go to a real fondue place they know how to do it right. The chicken pot pie and roasted veggies seemed to have been over cooked in the Microwave. I am really glad we didn't go with a the whole fondue experience here because it took so long for us to actually get the dipping breads and veggies after the cheese was brought out. I can't imagine how long we would have been there. Our waitress only came over to our table to bring stuff (which was far in between times) and we never got a refill on our drinks. It seems like they just need better management and there to be better delegation on the work. And need a better way to do the fondue set up the table we were at had a bunch of extension cords under it with a bunch of cords, total safety hazard. read more

I called a week ahead for a reservation. When we arrived, we were told that the only table available was in the noisiest part of the bar area. We ordered the full fondue experience. The food was still raw after sitting for 10 minutes in the fondue pot. We were assured by the staff that our equipment was working correctly, but we just needed to wait longer. Our price of our wine was refunded, but the total for two people still came to over $150 for two people. I felt sick afterwards from the raw food. I would not recommend this establishment! read more

So cute! My husband and I stumbled upon this place while walking around and are happy that we decided to give it a try! The location is small and cozy, and very well decorated for the theme. The servers also dress on theme which I thought was neat. When you order, they bring out fairy crowns for you to wear that glow. Super cute touch! As a former Placerville resident now living in the Sacramento "flatlands," I have only had an opportunity to eat at this restaurant once. It was great! Such a creative and unique menu, and our food was delicious. We felt welcome as soon as we stepped through the front door. Everyone was friendly, and we were charmed by the decor. I look forward to enjoying another meal at Enchanted Forest next time I'm in Placerville. A Disney-like experience, but with better food options! This place put the biggest smile on my face. Dont go here in a hurry- truly enjoy the experience. Shared the 4 course fondue with my mom, and it was delightful. The dressing on the Hobbit salad is great, the cheese fondue is heaven, and the filet was so tender, you could have eaten it without teeth (although you do play a part in this....if you cook your filet so long in the broth that you "ruin" it, that's your own darn fault). The homemade meatballs were perfectly seasoned. And the chocolate fondue- SO MANY DUNKABLE OPTIONS!! Aside from fresh and dried fruit, there were bite sized bits of Hostess (or the like) products, which are normally things I would turn up my nose at, however, when dunking them in great quality dark chocolate fondue, it's a game changer. The ambiance of the place was spectacular (a ceiling covered in greenery and white lights?! Yes!) and the staff were so fun and personable! Do yourself a favor and go here! read more

We stopped for lunch here on our way back from a backpacking trip. This was our first real restaurant meal in almost 4 months (quarantine), and it couldn't have been better. My daughter's smile was ear-to-ear from the incredibly unique fairytale ambiance of this place. The food was great, the staff was nice, but the thing that really sets this restaurant apart is its atmosphere. It pulls off being a "theme" restaurant without being tacky. The forest theme is well thought-out and creative, with just the right music and lighting. We got a pizza, some appetizers and some salads. The beet caprese salad was great. I have come to this location more than once and each time I fall in Love again. The mead flight beverage to start off is phenomenal. I had two flights and ate a wonder braised beef meal as well. It was a night of celebration and we were really excited to eat at this restaurant and experience what it had to offer. I am severely disappointed with my experience here. We had a reservation for dinner and were seated right away. We were in awe of the decor and style of the restaurant. It was a little dark so it took a while to notice but we were seated at a booth that had not been wiped down and was really dirty. Staff did notice and apologized, they quickly cleaned the table. We had no problem with this, stuff happens and thought nothing about it. Little did we know that this was just the beginning of what was to come. The longer we stayed the more disappointed we became. We waited a bit for the wait staff to bring our menus, come to find out that they did not have enough menus for us. They had two for a table of 6. Fine we will work with it. Took about 10 to 15 min before they could find more so that we could all view what they had to offer. We ordered and were excited to receive our food soon. While we were waiting someone from the staff asked us if we could pull out the extension cord from the end of our booth. Seems like they were short on extension cords. We disconnected the extension cord from the hot plate and from the electrical outlet off the wall and handed it over. We were starting to get irritated about the combination of "little bumps" and our long food wait time. We were one hour into our reservation and had not received any food. We waited another 15 min before asking about our food. Our waitress let us know that there was a whole other booth that was in the queue before us for food. She apologized about the wait and headed out to the kitchen to find out for us. She came back a few minutes later and let us know that it would be approximately an 8 minute wait time for our food. At that point we just politely asked for the bill for our drinks and decided to leave. We had a feeling that it was going to be more than an 8 minute wait. By the time we left ( about one hour and half from start of reservation) the booth in the front of the queue had still not received their food. My experience with this place was so disappointing and disastrous. It was one thing after the other. Would 100% NOT RECOMMEND. The worst experience I have had at a restaurant. Only good thing I can say is that the staff was kind. read more
