We tried enchiladas restaurant. We tried chile relleno. The pepper was a bit hard to chew and needed more time in the heat. Fajitas were just ok. Rice and beans were kind of bland and needed more flavor. They need to work on their food preparation and make food softer and more flavorful. read more

First off this place has some of the best chips and salsa in Dallas. I ordered "the original" enchiladas expecting them to be our of this world; since this place was in fact called enchiladas. They were OK. Not super great. I'll go back and get something else for sure. Also, something else I didn't like was it was very noisy. Went with a group of friends and the waitress spilled a drink all over my clothes. The staff then attempted to clean up the booth while we stood there and watched; we had to ask to be seated at a different booth that was dry. They also never offered to comp my meal or give us a free appetizer. Anything would have been nice to show they cared. Okay, so let me start by saying I spent over 30 years in Houston - where Tex-Mex places are all over the place (and mighty good). I had passed this place on Greenville many times before deciding I was gonna give it a shot. Oh, am I glad I did - this is my new favorite Tex-Mex place! If you're wanting a lively place to eat with good service and very reasonable prices, Enchilada's is your place. The first time I went I had a plate of 3 ground beef enchiladas, rice, beans, and a drink. It was everything I was craving - and that includes the chips and salsa which I would argue are the best in Dallas. The decor of Enchilada's is kitschy with multi-colored neon. I could do without the TV's but some folks will appreciate that, like during sporting events. There's seating for probably at least 100 so it's a good size place. I personally recommend going mid-evening during the week. The beef enchiladas were tasty with the con carne topping. Refried beans were the right consistency, and the rice with peas was delicious. And I now insist on taking any uneaten chips and salsa with me, they are that good. Kudos to the management for swinging by to ask how things are. Major kudos to new sweetheart server Josh, with whom I enjoyed a spirited chat about my South American scarf, the Beatles, and music in general. Thank you, Josh! If you're wanting a good Tex-Mex place that won't deplete your wallet, go to Enchilada's. This is THE place my family goes to for special occasions, birthdays etc. and has been for more than 20 years. Why? Because the food is amazing, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is relaxed and casual. Of course the main attraction is the enchiladas (chicken and sour cream for me please) but I also love the fajitas. Every now and again I'll mix it up with the fajita quesadillas with chicken -- they don't skimp on the melty jack cheese. Went here for my lunch break. Waited 20 minutes for service so at that point we ordered our food to go. Talked with a manager and nothing was done to rectify situation. We received and rushed back to work. Opened the boxes and our orders were completely messed up. Needless to say ... we will not be back. read more

So after a concert event me & my wife decided to go out for a nice dinner to wrap up the night. We have been to Enchiladas before on 2 occasions for brunch. Needless to say it was NOT the same experience. Food came out quick but it was not the best of the quality. The waitress came to our table a total of 3 throughout the night. A few times we saw her talking & smiling with the bartender while I was in need of a refill. Dirty plates needed to be removed from our table as well. The night manager in charge was helpful in a way. He asked what he could get for us. We told him (flour tortillas & a refill) & proceeded to tell our waitress. A few moments later she came with our requests & now decided to remove plates from our table. We get our check & are ready to pay & leave. Once again our waitress was nowhere to be found. Keep in mind; there are about 10-15 people max in the building. I don't know about it being busy but it didn't seem like it. Another waiter notices that we are just looking around & takes the initiative to get our check. As we are walking out we see our waitress; talking & laughing with the bartender in charge. My wife or I did not get a "thanks for coming" or "enjoy your night". We decided to come here instead of the hibachi place down the street to give it a try on a diffrent day besides Sunday for brunch. Now we may not go back even for brunch. read more

I am a Native Texan; born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley. I currently live in the Dallas area and am constantly searching for restaurants that give me that down home feeling when I eat there. This place did exactly that! The food was authentic, expertly crafted and also prepared and served in the most respectful and timely of manners. The waitress we receive service from was definitely in the top 5% of any waitress I have ever encountered. She paused at our table every 5 to 7 minutes on average and not only ensured great service, but made a strong attempt to form a personal bond that would definitely raise the bar in a customer experience manner. The drinks were very potent, which is a good thing as far as I'm concerned and the bartender kept them coming real-time upon request, even with a packed house. DO NOT let the restaurants name confuse you. The menu was contained excellent diversity and the quality of their ingredients was "TOP SHELF"! THE CLASSY ATMOSPHERE AND veteran service based associates were the attributes that stand out here and will keep us coming back long after we move to the other side of the DFW Metroplex. Enchilada's has some of the best Mexican food in Dallas. The atmosphere is fun and lively. It's a great place to go for happy hour and dinner or a just a quick stop for some delicious food with quick service. The queso supremo and the shrimp cocktail are my go-to appetizers. I typically get the sour cream chicken enchiladas but the menu has a wide variety of other choices if I'm feeling the need to switch it up!
