The chips were that grainy kind, not pure corn, so they were mealy. No salt on the chips, so we were salting each chip before we ate it. The salsa was bland. Not tasty. The boracho beans were beans boiled in water, no ingredients, no flavor, although it did have an off flavor of rancid pork. The brisket tacos plate had three ingredients: corn tortilla, brisket, and cilantro. I WISH they used salt and spices on their meat. Some onion or garlic cooked with the meat would help. It was bland and virtually tasteless. I borrowed some pico from my spouse's plate to add some color and taste to the taco. We won't be back. read more

Hands down the best tex mex in the city, possibly the state. An incredibly friendly crowd and live atmosphere instantly make you feel like you're at home. The menu has the usual tex mex favorites with some interesting concoctions like the loco white wings. The staff makes you feel welcome, the food is incredible, and the atmosphere is enjoyable. There's plenty going on between enchilada eating contests, live music every Saturday, and an amazing resort style brunch every Sunday. I've been to other Enchilada's and the food isn't as fresh and the wait staff isn't as friendly. It was like an entirely different restaurant. Consistently setting the bar for Dallas tex mex. Drinks were very overpriced, and the server wasn't helpful at explaining drinks. We ordered the brisket nachos, and they came with nothingexcept cheese and overcooked brisket. (not even sour cream on the side) They looked like they were microwaved, I could've made better ones in my microwave at home. Chicken Chimi is an awesome dish, pair it with a Big-E margarita and you cannot go wrong, had an awesome time here last week great place to bring friends. Only thing that I took a star away for is the Chairs on the patio are old and need upgraded, they were very uncomfortable and I was worried I may break it. This is a great Tex Mex place off Greenville Ave. The namesake enchiladas are very delicious with any of the sauces - sour cream, cheese or chili. I love the burritos and tacos as well. Looks like a converted Denny's with just a little over-the-top Tex-Mex kitch decor. Either that, or the owner *really* likes his Corona. Basic Tex-Mex menu, nothing really strays from the formula. Had the chicken enchiladas with R&B, decent fare but a little dry. Salsa is good, chips are commercial. Hard to knock stars off this place but also hard to rate it too highly, as nothing really seems to stand out. Good food, but the competition in this area is huge. Service is above average, and they have advertised a Sunday brunch (never been). I'll visit occasionally but there are better options even nearby. read more

Ahhh I dunno, never got my water refilled out there (this was about 8pmish). So I get sat down, and they give you some chips and salsa.. my chips were not warm.. but I didn't mind it that much. (I came on another day, and realized that they are suppose to be warm when they come out). Anyways, I ordered the brisket 2 enchilada plate with chipotle cream sauce, which comes with rice and refried beans. It was DELICIOUS.. I'm not sure if its just because i'd never had brisket in my enchiladas before.. or if brisket + chipotle cream sauce = a magical combination.. but best enchiladas i'd had in years.. If your going to get enchiladas .. you've got to try the brisket ones.. The rice was kinda blah, had no flavor really, and the refried beans was nothing too crazy.. it was ok. so in summary. try the brisket enchiladas. don't expect to be blown away by their rice and refried bean sides. read more

The food's not bad. I had decent fajitas, not really flavorful, not memorable. Salsa and chips were better than many and my friend's chimichanga may have been a cut above my fajitas. Waitstaff was pushy; we ordered margaritas and all the waiter could do was say 'Top Shelf? Top Shelf?'. They were strong, but weren't top shelf, top proof maybe. Or maybe top shelf in an Oak Cliff convenience/liquor store, not in a North Dallas restaurant. And when the second margarita arrived, I ask my waiter "Did I order this?" as in "I didn't order this, please take it back". He just shrugged his shoulders and gave a fake little smile. I should have been bold enough to send it back, I didn't drink more than a 10th of it. My best guess as to the recipe for the margarita was mid-priced margarita mix, grain alcoholic, and a splash of tequila on top for fragrance. The tartness was citric acid not lime. The atmosphere is converted Denny's or Pizza Hut and not a costly conversion; more like a rip off the carpet, wax the concrete, and slap gaudy colored paint on the walls. "No need to be to careful, we'll keep the lights down so no one will notice". If i were in the mid-west, I'd think this place had rather good food and a rather good price, nevermind the bad margaritas. But this is Dallas, Texas with an uncountable number of Tex-Mex places. Why waste your time when there is a better food served in a better atmosphere, by better waitstaff all over town? read more

I haven't been to Enchilada's since we went to see a friend of a friend's band. I want to call them the Oneders -- the band from That Thing You Do but that's not it. Anyhow, as a another stop on my brisket taco tour, it was fine but nothing spectacular. The insides were good but the corn tortilla was soggy which made the taco hard to eat as intended -- with your hands. I have noticed that some other brisket tacos have the double tortilla going. That would have helped. Didn't have dessert but the family across from me ordered sopapillas. They looked great and the family commented on how good they were. Service was fine. My waitress checked in on me a couple of time and kept my tea full. Two other staff came by as well. I'll be back but will return to the enchiladas at Enchilada's. read more

I live near Enchilada's and have been in several times for lunch, but never for dinner. I took a friend there last night and we had another great experience. The wait-staff is very good. They deserve their accolades. As I've seen it described, they give you just the right amount of attention: not too much, not too little. I've had almost every type of enchiladas on the menu, but tonight I decided to try the Fajitalada, with beef. Normally it comes in chili con carne, but I asked for the sour cream sauce and was told it was no problem. The combination was absolutely delicious. Great food, great service. As some other people have mentioned, it is a bit shady looking from just the outside, but don't let that deter you. Their wait staff is phenomenal! My wife and I were the only people in a particular section, and we still got exactly the right amount of service. They weren't pestering us, but made sure that we had everything we needed. But the food is why we really read these things, isn't it? I had the Chili Relleno, and I have to say it was stellar. The beef was cooked to perfection, and the pepper itself was also mighty tasty. My niece graduated from college today and my sister arranged to have the celebratory meal at Enchilada's. They set our party of about 30 people in the area off from the main restaurant. Every plate came out nearly simultaneously, and every plate was hot. The food was the typucal high standard meals that Enchilada's is known for. It tasted GREAT. Each person was valued as an individual customer, which was more than evident by the quality of each plate. Every plate was handled with care. Our beverages never went dry as well. This was one of the best facilitated event for a large group I've been to. I kept thinking that a work related luncheon would be great to be held here. The exceptional wait staff member assigned to our party, as well as to tables in the main restaurant, was Hali N. She made it look so effortless. She was inviting, warm, and attentive despite the large crowd and other tables. Her high degree of professionalism really helped us to just enjoy our event. We were in great hands. We went here last night and I'm definitely not impressed. We had a large party and were seated quickly. I ordered a deluxe margarita and my niece ordered a frozen margarita. She took one sip and didn't like it so I told the waiter and he said, "You have to pay for it!" I wanted to exchange it and found him to be rude; I didn't even say I didn't like mine and paid the $9.25 for mine too. He also didn't bring me a water so I went to the bar to get my own as did another lady at my table. Common sense to bring people in jerseys water. The food arrived and I had fajita meat that was overcooked and chewy. My niece ordered chile con carne chicken enchiladas and they were okay. I will say this, we always had salsa and chips from another waiter and that was lovely. The main waiter also didn't want to do separate checks since he wouldn't be able to grat us automatically. We are a party of 20 and who carries cash these days? Overall the waiter wasn't the best nor was the food very good. Place is usually bomb... this was my 3rd time eating here. Swirl Margs are great, sopapillas are #1 but this experience was weird... I asked for hot salsa and my server brought a semi spicy verde sauce that was really good, but never said spicy was a charge yet was saying other questions were. Anyways I asked for more salsa during meal and instead of bringing regular salsa brought the verde. Oh well... tastes okay but when I got the bill it was $2.50 per little cup. Super odd to pay $5 for two small cups of salsa without having any idea it was a charge especially when I just wanted hot sauce. So although the food was good this experience put me off a bit. read more

Yummy! Great service and tortilla soup so close to Mama's stew it almost made my little sister cry tears of joy. The waitstaff is always very nice and always take care of the little extras we ask for. The chile rellenos are epic! Cheese oozing out when you cut into it. Delicious enciladas and tacos. Big shrimp cocktails and the queso with taco meat is the best! The Sunday Brunch Buffet is fantastic and having had lap band surgery, I miss it terribly, haha.
