Located in prime time Beverly Hills this independent pharmacy is the best pharmacy in Los Angeles. They accept most insurance, have medication in stock and most importantly, treat you as a client. All the big chains are not in the same league when it comes to customer service. The staff are all friendly, the pharmacists know their job and do it with the clients well being as their priority. I have more than one doctor, but if I could just have one pharmacy it would be Encore. Sure the chains have locations everywhere and save some time or if you're traveling then you do what you have to do. But as long as I'm in Los Angeles then I definitely chose Encore as my pharmacy. I was having trouble finding a medication that is experiencing a nationwide shortage. After my second try (one at a pharmacy just down the block - Pharmacy 90210 - they were rude and not helpful), my doctor suggested Encore as her patients have had great experiences. As soon as the prescription was called in by my doctor, they phoned me and said they would do everything they could to get the medicine for me as they just gave out their last dose. Several days later, they phoned me saying the medicine was in. I had left town and they made arrangements for the medicine to be fed-ex'd to me (I happily paid for that service). Everyone I dealt with was very nice and I will most likely switch all of my medications to this pharmacy. So glad my doctor recommended them. Lifesaver. read more

I don't write many reviews unless the experience was extreme or memorable in some way. I was dealing with a new medication and there were a lot of hurdles and luckily I was connected to Ebony who works at Encore Pharmacy. Ebony was so warm and friendly and above all else, patient. I spoke with her on the phone for quite some time. She went above and beyond to get me answers, to deal with insurance, to make sure that she let me know what I needed to move forward by the end of the day...I was shocked and so so happy. I am not used to customer service like this. She resolved everything for me. I then went in to pick up my medicine and I also met T. She was just as lovely nd helpful. I was lucky enough to meet Ebony in person and she is wonderful. The human experience is so hard as it is, crossing paths with warm and helpful genuine people is a highlight. Would not recommend this pharmacy. Here is the sequence of events that led to eventually being unable to fulfill my prescription: Monday: Called pharmacy and confirmed the prescription was in stock and accepted by my insurance Tuesday: Called the pharmacy to have the prescription filled, was instructed to text the phone line with insurance information. Sent the text with all relevant documentation at 1:22PM and did not receive a response so followed up to ask for confirmation at 6:30PM Wednesday: Pharmacy confirms via text that the insurance information is received. Thursday: Husband went to pick up the prescription (took 1.5 hours to drive there). While husband was driving to the pharmacy, I called multiple times and talked to ~3 different people. Twice put on hold and dropped with no follow up. Every time I called they asked for my insurance information which was confirmed received via text. They also asked for prescription ID's and coupons that i have never had to supply to any other pharmacy. Once husband arrived at the pharmacy, they told him the insurance is not accepted thus invalidating the entire 3 day ordeal. Highly recommend going to another pharmacy if you want to streamline your prescription needs. read more

Update: after asking me to take down the above negative review (which is entirely truthful), the pharmacist has told me they will no longer be serving me. I'm in the process of finding an alternative source for my medication, but in the meantime I have to consider whether it's worth deleting my truthful review and posting a falsely positive one so that Encore will dispense medication to me again. I popped into this pharmacy yesterday after an appt that I had in that building because they had tons of cute reading glasses! I recently gave in to admitting that I do, in fact, see my phone or books a lot more clearly with readers but I am not trying to buy expensive ones just to scroll my social media or read once in a while. They had a great selection for all standard levels of non-prescription reader strengths and at a great price! And everyone was so friendly and helpful! Just want to warn all potential clients such a myself that if you are attempting to reach out to this pharmacy for weight loss prescriptions, please do yourself a favor and don't waste your time calling Encore Pharmacy. I was directed by my DR to reach out to this pharmacy directly and the pharmacy technician laughed at me over the phone when I asked if they had a waitlist available to put my name on in hopes of getting my prescription filled eventually. They don't seem to understand basic human decency and customer service and feel that it's okay to laugh at someone who is only trying to get healthy and follow the recommendations from their doctor. Very good staff who were helpful and very communicative with me. They had patience with me which was nice since I ask a lot of questions. I had asked them to transfer a medication of mine from CVC to their location, I gave all my information, and it took maybe 30 minutes for a call back to inform me that they had my scripts. I have been trying to locate a pharmacy that had my medication in stock. since every pharmacy seems to be out of, My Doctor referred me to Encore. He mentioned that they are a good pharmacy. I went to this location and my experience was really good. I was informed that there was a waiting list for my medication and just to be patient until it comes in and becomes available. Let me start by saying that the team here is great! My dermatologist always sends me to this pharmacy and my experience with them has been fantastic. First of all they will ship out your items to you if you're not in the area or are unable to wait. But the highlight is that they get the best prices for your prescriptions. I had a prescription that needed to be filled so I went to my local Rite-Aid near my home only to be told that it would cost $500 because it wasn't covered by my insurance.
