The staff was extremely nice and happy to accommodate us even after the pool closed they brought us a lounge chair out to the sitting area so we could continue to hang out there. We had however to find a towel to use as curtain as the window in the shower had no curtain and there were people parking their cars outside.

The motel has extensive, attractively landscaped grounds with ample parking, plus a large outdoor pool, an indoor pool, a barbeque grill, and direct access to the Cape Cod Rail Trail. The on-site breakfast restaurant called Harrigan's Café was an added bonus. Their meals were delicious. Every employee we encountered went out of their way to make us feel welcome. It was confusing pulling in finding the front office, but luckily we saw a sign for it. The woman at the front desk was very helpful in providing information on how to get around. Our room included 2 big beds and was well set up. I happen to bring my own pillow on my stay away because it's much comfier while sleeping. I use the hotel pillow when just relaxing, and it's comfy for that purpose. Also worth mentioning the A/C in the room works very well, sometimes too well as it can get cold, so adjusting the temperature is a big key to making the room comfortable. The hotel provides an indoor and outdoor pool for anyone to enjoy from 8am to 8pm. It's very fortunate to find out that this hotel provides Harrigan's Cafe for breakfast (see my review), which is a huge plus for anyone staying at the motel and lodge. Definitely put Wellfleet Motel & Lodge on the list to stay at.

When we woke up, we discovered that the door had never locked and had been unlocked all night. As we were leaving for the day, we called the front desk who said that it would be fixed right away. During the day, we called to confirm it had been fixed, and we were assured that it was. When we returned at the end of the day, however, it was unlocked and had been all day. We went to the office and the person on duty called the owner....who offered us a "gift bag" and 50 dollars off of a multi night stay. When we asked him to compensate us appropriately, he said he would not budge. This was a completely inappropriate response to a serious safety and security issue. The owner knew we had stayed there many times and brought him many customers, but did not care. We will never return to this hotel.
