Do Not Use this company, The star should be negative. Don't believe the stars, that's how i got screwed, Customer service in none existence. I was treated rudely and the Service does not live up to the advertisement. I brought my 199 trooper to engine re builders, 1st I was told by the owner , that they could have it done in 2 weeks, I would have it back before the holiday,(Christmas). A month and 1/2 later , I get my car back. Now in that month , I received only 2 calls from them. 1st to tell me more money & the 2nd to pick up. When I called for updates, I was left on hold, or told that my car ,was behind other cars. When i was getting no answer, I stop by the shop, The owner was rude and said I could take the car now. But finally took us to back. where the car was being worked on. Picked up the car check engine light on, drive the car to Irving , it runs hot.. Take it back the same day , they say drive it if still having problems bring it back. Brought the car back , they keep it a week this time, then said nothing was wrong, I insisted on a new thermostat ,which i purchased and was charged to install. Plus had the oil changed per the agreement on the warranty. a month later the car stops, had it towed to them again., the owner blamed the problem on me ,that i drove the car with no oil. But you just changed the oil. How could it not have any,, there where no leaks.,. He charged me another 500.00. 3 weeks later i get the car back and the check engine light is on, it's leaking power steering fluid and now my Air conditioner is not working, He refuses to fix it . Filed with BBB , so he agreed to address the problem. Mechanic goes over the car, hooking up wires and a few things I guess they missed. But the check engine light is now off. He ask about the Fluid level on power steering , i told him I had to take some out, because it was overflowing. Instead of them addressing the rest of my issues , he said he would not touch the car till i resend my complaint. I leave because that is not how it works. 1 hour later the car stops again. I take it to a transmission shop , because the car goes to neutral and won't start or move, transmission fluid is leaking. He fixes the transmission and inspects the motor ,crankshaft is busted. and I need the new engine as of today 5/26/2016 What happen to customer sanctification, After spending over 3000.00 ,1600.00 in car rental fees. and almost 6 months. On July 03, 2017, I had entered the business of Engine rebuilders at 3540 Irving Blvd. Dallas TX. 75247. I had talked with a person by the name on his shirt, Angel. I had asked Mr. Angel if they do heater core replacements? He had told me yes, but we are busy and that I would have to leave my vehicle for two or three days. Then ask him how much would it cost. Mr. Angel then said $600. 00. So, I told him let me talk with my wife and I'll get back with you, then left. I had shared the information with my wife and we agreed to have the work done. So, on July 05, 2017, Mr. Angel ask me if I'm bring in the vehicle? I told that we agreed to bring in the vehicle and ask if they were open on Saturday, July 08, 2017 and Mr. Angel told me until 1pm. So, I told him we will be here then. Prior to taking the vehicle, my wife told me that the check engine light had come on, so I but my analyzer on it and turn out to be a problem with the number one spark plug. I then turned off the check engine light. On Saturday, July 08, 2017 about 10 am we deliver the vehicle. Mr. Angel was busy with another customer and I believe the man that had done the paperwork was name Dave. Once everything was done, my wife and I had left. During the weekend, my wife told me to go by the shop and have them put new plug in. On July 10, 2017 as I was getting ready for work, my wife reminded me to go by the shop and add the plugs to the work. Later that morning I had gone by the shop and ask Mr. Angel if they would add this to the work order and how much would it cost. Mr. Angel told me no problem and it would be $120. I told him ok and thanks. I called and talked with Mr. Angel on July 13, 2017 to check on the vehicle. He told me that it won't be ready until the 14th, I said ok. I ran by the shop between one of my runs on the morning of July 14, 2017 to see if I would be getting the vehicle today. Mr. Angel told me that it would late today or tomorrow. I told him that my wife and I will be here tomorrow to get the vehicle, she wants her truck. After I got home that evening, something told me that I should call and fine out for sure if the vehicle will be ready. So, at 4:43, I called and Mr. Angel answer the phone and I ask him what is the status of the vehicle. He told me, whole on and I'll go back and check on it. A brief time later a different man came on the phone and ask if he could help me. I told that I was waiting on Mr. Angel, he is checking on my vehicle. With a very hasty voice, he told me I know about your vehicle what do you want to know. I told him that I wanted to know if it will be ready tomorrow as promised my Mr. Angel. Again, in a hasty voice, he told me that it won't be ready, because we haven't even started on it. I told him do not do anything to the vehicle and I will be down there to pick it up. He told that is your privilege. On July 15, 2017, my son had taken me down to get the vehicle. Mr. Angel arrived almost at 8am. In Spanish, Mr. Angel had told another man to go get my vehicle. When the man came into the office, again in Spanish, said something to Mr. Angel. Mr. Angel replied to the man and the man gave me the key. As I was getting ready to leave, Mr. Angel told me "Sorry man". I turned and looked at him and bit my tongue and hated myself since. My first though and should have said, "Are you sorry for not doing the job or sorry for misleading and lying to me, or both"? As I was waiting for Mr. Angel to show up, I had looked around the office. I was very impressed with all the "BBB" certificates hanging on the wall. Last evening after talking with the nasty attitude, I google this business web page. After looking at a lot of "Reviews" (most are negative) on this business, I question the integrity of the BBB. Now, I would not have had any problem if this SPINELESS company, Engine Rebuilders, had told me early, that they had change their mind and for me to come and get my vehicle. But then when you are spineless, you don't have aggressiveness, determination and sincere faithfulness or loyalty to your to most important part of your company, the CUSTOMER. I do believe one thing, the workmanship of the employees is a reflection of MANAGEMENT. I'm taking Engine Rebuilders in Irving to court. We are scheduled to go to court on April 24th. They built my engine and it was never right. They cut into the wiring harness, damaged the crankshaft, there was a ongoing rear main seal leak, bolts and nuts were missing, they used silicone on many parts vs gaskets. They also broke the throttle body cable that goes into the tranny. I had to have another shop remove and open the tranny to replace that cable. After a year of issues they finally agreed to rebuild it again. They damaged the block and it was not rebuildable. I had to have it rebuilt with a new block at another shop. Let's not let his shop get away with continuing to steal money from hardworking people who trust these people to fix their cars. read more

We have a 2009 Lexus RX350 that developed a problem with one of the cylinders and needed rebuilding. I was hesitant to use someone other than the Lexus dealer, but they would have charged an enormous amount to fix it. Engine Rebuilders did a great job. The only issue was that they were pretty busy and said it would be three weeks to get to it, which they did. It was worth the wait. There were minor issues after the work was done. An indicator light for the air bag stayed on. They fixed what was causing it right away. It is risky to have something this major done to your vehicle, so getting a good shop is critical. I would definitely use them again. Dave (the owner) was very good at answering all my questions and following up on the status. They do all machine work in-house, which is how they can control quality and cost. read more

Have a 2006 H3 and everyone I called on a rebuild wanted twice as much as engine rebuilders did. After dropping it of with the guys I got it back and it was even better than before!!!! I will be recommending engine rebuilders to everyone I know needing work on their vehicle.!! read more

I just had my Hyundai Sonata engine rebuilt by Engine Rebuilders. I started my search with the Hyundai dealer who wouldn't return my calls at first. When I finally spoke with the service manager, he didn't want to do the work but reluctantly quoted me a price of around $7,000. I also tried Firestone, who after 2 weeks said they couldn't do the work. My luck changed when I called Engine Rebuilders. I initially spoke with David (owner) who said he could do the work and quoted me a price that was half of any other quote I could get. David handled everything throughout the rebuilding process. I would call him once a week to get a status and he was always there to take my call and update me. He did the work within a couple of hundred dollars of his initial quote. (There were some additional parts he had to supply that he couldn't know about until the engine was apart) It took about 5 weeks to complete but the longest part of the build was just getting the car in to the shop. They are a busy group of mechanics, but that's because they're GOOD! Dave made me feel very comfortable throughout the process and my car now runs GREAT! You can trust these guys. I'll come back to them for all my car needs. read more

Well my experience with David was not so much professional. He was rude and belittling me through the whole conversation. just because i was not the client who authorized the repair. My car not his but couldn't be more rude and unpleasant. would not recommend this facility at all not even to my enemies. car doesn't even run right after it was delivered to me twice. worst place!!!! Need less to say I don't own the car anymore the Dealership towed it back to fine out more issue's with the car. Can't see how they have a A+ in BBB they are crazy makes me think twice to accept their recommendations. read more

These guys are nice but have no idea what they are doing. They quoted me $1850.00 for an engine rebuild which ended up costing closer to $3000 when they found all these extra "problems" with my motor. They had my truck for almost a month before I got it back. It constantly leaked and ran rough when I got it back and each time I took it back they would keep it for 2-3 weeks with no calls or updates. It would sit for weeks before they started each repair to their original rebuild. Very poor communication. They had my truck more than I did. They would charge me extra for repairs to their original rebuild. I would recommend doing a little research and finding another shop. read more

Had a 08 F150 rebuilt there, when I went to pick it up, after being fixed, it was missing so bad it wouldn't even drive back up on the trailer. Went back in and told them it's running like garbage and they needed to fix it. They convinced me that it was because it was sitting so long that there was gunk in the injectors so I trailered it back home. Ran injector cleaner and few tanks of gas through it, like they said, still ran like garbage barely ran over 60 mph. Called them back and had to trailer it back to them 1.5 hrs away. Another few weeks went by and I went it pick it up, had to trailer it back because the check engine light was on, they cant get it to go off, so i can get it inspected. That was in Sept 2018, 8 months later and more $$$, guess what?still runs like garbage now dealing with the warranty crap, in and out of shops to try and fix what I paid them over 3 grand to do in the first place. And the through whole process they kept trying to sell me a fuel pump that was never needed. Once they they give you the slip and get you to take the vehicle your screwed, they will not take it back and fix what you already paid them for, unless you will pay for it again. They will not hold up their end of the bargain, shoty business, do yourself a favor and take it someplace else. read more

I have a 1996 Impala SS that started making abnormal valve train and engine nosies that I couldn't locate or fix myself as well as an oil leak that I suspected was the rear main seal. After doing some research and obtaining quotes from several competitors, Engine Rebuilders came out as the cheapest and highest rated shop. David and Angel are good guys who never hesitated to answer any questions I had about the build and kept me informed of the build progress as well as any other issues discovered. The only remotely negative aspect of this whole process is that I had to wait a couple weeks before dropping my car off, these guys stay busy, but I take that as a sign of the quality of the service they are providing and the trust people are placing in them. All in all I am very satisfied with the job Engine Rebuilders has done and have recommended them to friends who are in need of engine work on their cars. If I even need heavy maintenance on my car again, I will call Engine Rebuilders. read more

All I can say is WTF!!!! They quoted me the lowest price...then after they had my engine apart, played the classic bait and switch. They wanted to replace everything, then when I went to pay, their "warranty" pretty much absolves them of any responsibility for fixing anything that goes wrong with their work. I authorized work on condition that I receive the old parts...guess what, no old parts were given back. First, the excuse was they left them at the other shop, then after that they couldn't find them. For all I know, I was charged for parts that were never put on. When I finally got my car back, it was filthy !!! Oh..did I mention that they had my car for almost TWO WHOLE MONTHS!!!! I should have taken my car to a clean shop that charged more but would have taken care of my vehicle. The guy at the counter who took my credit card for payment was threatening and pretty much cursed at us when we asked about the broken mirror on my car. RUN AWAY from this place. They should be investigated by the Better Business Bureau !!!! read more

I posted a bad review about Engine Rebuilders a few months ago. I was upset about the time it took to fix my truck, but after talking more with David and Angel I was convinced that it was not their fault. I had to keep ordering computers for my truck because the place in Florida kept sending bad computers, and this is why it took time to get it running right. I revoke my bad complaint against this company and have to say David and Engine Rebuilders have taken excellent car of me and have gone out of their way to make sure my truck is running like it should has fix any problems it had in a timely manner and gave me great prices. These guys are an excellent choice if you need engine work done. read more

We were busy at my shop and didnt have time to build an engine for one of our trucks and so we were looking for someone who would build one for us so we could work on other projects. These guys sold my shop an engine that was a nightmare from the moment we got it. The first thing that happened was we ordered the motor and they gave us one price when we ordered it and a different price when we went to pick it up. Then the engine was suppose to have head studs in it and when we picked it up it didnt have any studs in it. Then when we got it back we had to put studs on the engine at our shop (at an extra cost) and when we pulled the heads off there was some kind of aftermarket very poorly made head gasket in it which we chunked. Then after we got it in the truck there was a problem with the way the engine was built that was causing high pressure oil problems. Then after we sorted that out we finally got it running months later and then it had a problem with the bottom end and it not being able to read the timing correctly. So, we pulled the engine out again and when we pulled the oil pan off we found silicone sealant where there were suppose to be gaskets, and silicone sludge at the bottom of the pan, tape covering up an oil port seal and other alarming things. Whoever put that engine together should be ashamed. At that point we decided to put a different motor in the truck and low and behold it ran perfect! So now I wanted to bring the engine back and get a refund but since it took us more than 6 months to sort this problem out now he tells me im out of luck and now I have to hire an attorney and go to war with him because when I try to explain to them what happened with it I cant even finish a single sentence without him trying to interrupt me and talk over me like I have no idea what im talking about. This guy treated me like absolute garbage. I recommend to never, ever, do business with these people. read more

I thought these people were honest and legit since they rebuilt my motor almost 3 years ago. Well my experience went all the way downhill recently. I'm not sure if it's someone new they have hired or they just don't care anymore. A few months ago I took my car in to see why I have an oil leak (even though they rebuilt the motor 8/14). David said it was oil pan gasket that would be around $900 b/c they have to move engine (even though the end of last year I was quoted $700 since they had to move the catalytic converter) and wasn't worth fixing if I couldn't afford it. Therefore I just asked for them to do a tune up, oil change and new wipers. When I got my car back I noticed my car was running funny. I took my car back to them a couple of days later and one of the mechanics told me the issue was a spark plug was loose. I left annoyed because a tune up is mechanics 101. My car still didn't run correctly so I took it back for the 3rd time to see what the issue was. David claimed it was a cracked ceramic plug that caused the issues. I should have known to end my relationship then. I didn't and so when my AC went out (not blowing cold air) I took my car back up to the shop. I explained that I felt my compressor had quit since I no longer heard it come on. I dropped my car off at 8am July 3rd and didn't receive a phone call about my car until 2:45pm saying that it wasn't the compressor, it was a valve that was clogged. My air only blew cold for 1 day. I called David on my way home from work, frustrated, to ask what was going on and why am I continuously having to bring my car back to fix the same issues over again. David was offended by the question and wanted to argue about me bringing my car back since it was for a "different issue" even though my air wasn't blowing cold like I ORIGINALLY brought my car in for. I ended up taking my car back that Saturday. When I went to pick my vehicle back up, since David wasn't there, Angel decided to have a "talk" with me about bringing my USED car back and forth to fix things as if they only work on new cars. He said that the issue with my air was due to a blown fuse which is electrical and they DON'T do electrical work. Lastly, Angel wanted to make a fuss about if I leave and get a flat tire that I will bring it back blaming them for the flat. By this time I was extremely offended, because all the workers came from the back and stood around watching as if they were waiting to pounce on me or something (I'm a single female). Well my air went out the NEXT day as well as my car didn't want to start since my battery just quit out of no where. So I decided to NEVER return to that shop since I've given ample opportunity to fix what obviously wasn't done the first time. When I took my car to professionals to fix the AC, they did a visual inspection 1st and noticed a leak of freon (GO FIGURE!). Once that hose was replaced they did testing in which the AC still wasn't blowing cold air. Since I explained what happened at Engine Rebuilders, they decided to check the fuses and they said yes your fuse was blown but they replaced the 10 amp fuse with a 25 amp fuse. That was the reason for my battery just quitting and having to get it replaced. He also informed me of a plug, valve or whatever the piece was on the compressor that had been broken in which I had to get a whole new compressor. So yeah, I used to think so highly of these people until recently. read more
