Bogo $1 on large bottle Asahi / house hot sake is a great deal. Rolls are also bogo 50% off and the fish is really fresh. The Baja California and ex girlfriend rolls were our favorite. Family had a great time overall.

Great sushi. The fish are all fresh. They have real wasabi available for purchase. The crispy rice salmon is incredible

    GURUME PREMIUM SUSHI

Now my 2nd time trying this new sushi joint for dinner. Got similar things both times. The first time we had it, we got the Gurume premium and we were won over. It was so good for the price! We were there around 8pm so I especially appreciated how fresh the fish and good the sushi rice was. This most recent time, we were there around 8:30pm and the sushi rice was definitely disappointing. It was stale and the texture was super off which took away from the sushi. We also tried the seasonal truffle eel and were super disappointed by how small and measly the portion size was for the price. The smallest pieces of eel.. Combining both experiences, I'd give this place 4 stars! Will most likely go back to our usual sushi spot after this last visit.

This used to be Chomp, which I'd frequent 15-20 years ago because it was my favorite Fullerton restaurant. I could tell by viewing the menu this would be a memorable experience. Elisa was friendly and delivered good service. The service was kind of slow, but the dishes were very delicious. The fish was fresh and I saw the chef filleting a whole fish, which I don't think I've seen in Southern California before. Maybe because I don't typically sit at or near the bar. The Yellowtail Jalapeño was perfectly spicy and had the umami I appreciate. The micro greens and tomato were nice additions to the plate. The Coconut Shrimp Roll had coconut shrimp, coconut mayo, and shaved coconut. This was a surprisingly delightful combination. The Lemon Salmon Roll was very good, but could've benefited from a sauce. The Caliente and Golden Tiger Rolls were also tasty. I would return for more rolls, cold signature plates, and their Uni Pasta. They offer BOGO deals on certain rolls and have an attractive selection of liquors & cocktails. This is a classy location for celebrating.

Always so good to have a lunch here! The baked green mussels, honeymoon roll, salmon lover, captain America roll, and omg roll are so good! Highly recommend trying them out, the decor inside is really fun, and the servers are always very nice. :)

Nice spot in downtown Fullerton with each seating area feeling a bit more private. Good noise level and ambience for dates and small group gatherings. Ordered a sashimi set and everything was really solid. Yellowtail hits hard, as does the salmon and albacore. Not even a fan of albacore or tuna but it was delicious to me! They have the good wasabi (even the free one is bomb) you can order too. Service was pretty quick given that it was close to closing time. Coming here again since it's nearby for me :)

Great service. The host went out of his way to celebrate a birthday and I recommend the bento boxes and uni pasta. The menu is extensive and has cold and hot plates and fresh sushi. Located in downtown Fullerton and would come back.

Checked out Enraku after seeing all the great reviews. Overall great service, food came out super fast, and ambiance was great. Tons of seats so did not have to wait. They currently have tons of special (some only for the weekday) and buy one roll and get the second 50% off. Their menu is massive! Tons of things to get if you aren't into sushi or want something cooked. Parking is definitely a challenge though. Tough finding street parking and recommend looking for public parking lot nearby.

    FRIED CORN, SUPER CRUNCH ROLL

Enraku was such a cute place to hang out in downtown Fullerton. We came and didn't even know that they were having BOGO 50% off promotion for both Chef's Special Rolls and Hot Sake, so that was a bonus on top of the delicious food and drinks. Besides the rolls, their Fried Corn was definitely our highlight of the night. It's individually coated with tempura flour so super crunchy and fun to eat. The Takoyaki was also very delish! Service was very fast and polite. The only thing we would ask for improvement is the AC; it got pretty hot since we were also enjoying some sake during the meal. Apart from the heat, we had a pleasant time. Will definitely come back!

Loved the quality of food. The Service was fast and consistent. The space they have is huge, it makes it not feel crammed. The ambiance is mellow and beautiful. The presentation of the food was beautiful. Including how they bring the rice in a covered lid, to keep it warm and fluffy. They offer authentic sushi and yet still have bento combinations that are so much more than the basic types of options. As well as kids meal which is amazing. When finished they came and offered free ice cream bars. Super yummy. Honestly one of the best spots I have been to.

Came here for dinner and honestly didn't know what to expect, but it ended up being a pretty solid experience overall. The place has a nice vibe inside. Dim lighting, clean setup, and it feels a little more elevated than your typical sushi spot in the area. Not too loud, not too quiet. Good balance if you're just trying to sit down and enjoy your meal. We also tried a couple of their other dishes and they all came out well prepared. Nothing really missed, but at the same time nothing that completely blew me away either. Just consistently good across the board. Service was alright. I had to flag someome down a few times for water refills. Food came out at a steady pace and we didn't feel rushed at all. Not necessarily a spot I'd go out of my way for, but definitely one I'd keep in rotation.

    Giannina C.

This place is amazing. I loved the ambiance and cleanliness of this place. Is very comfortable. The service is good and the food is superb. I will definitely comeback!

My favorite motsu nabe. Little kick of spiciness makes a perfect balance. I think I can eat this everyday. Fresh sushi and amazing quality. Service was amazing and servers were so sweet and kind. Coming back next week!

My son took me to Akashiro for my birthday. What a treat this was!!…read more He ordered the full omakase experience for us. I didn't know what to expect, but WOW! It's a like a dining adventure. Fifteen courses that are surprises because even tho there's a "template" of types of dishes, each one is ultimately the chef's choice. As each course was brought out, our waiter did an excellent job of describing what each item was and it's place of origin. Fifteen courses is alot to try to remember each specific dish so I decided to stay in the moment (after I snapped a pic) and enjoyed each one as we had them and talked about the flavor profiles and what we liked best about it. When my son had made the reservation he must have told them we were celebrating my birthday because in addition to the regular dessert course, our server brought me a birthday dessert which included green tea ice cream and a slice of matcha cheesecake. The full omakase experience was delicious and so fun! I told my son that it was like an advent calendar ~ each course we "opened" had us saying "ooo, how yummy" and left us with almost giddy anticipation of what we'd discover next. If you're looking for something fun and unique for a special occasion, I highly recommend the full omakase experience at Akashiro!

So we found this place and it was in the same vicinity and yay, they took reservations. Made reservations same day for a 18:30 seating. Service is impeccable. We were welcomed with hot towels, and this impressed me: when our server asked if we wanted cold or hot water. Love it! We opted for hot, better for digestion :) Our libation: Kubota sake - semi dry, rich, clean Our dishes: Assorted sashimi (16 pcs) - omakase. No soy sauce needed. Chef prepared with delicious flavors in mind. Tiger scallops - served in a what appears to resemble petrified wood, carved into a long boatlike dish. Hokkaido shrimp, cilantro oil, chilaquita (Peruvian onion relish), sweet potato crisp, smoke aji Amarillo (Peruvian yellow chili) Leche de tigre (rich emulsion of limes, Peruvian spices and chilis) - A complexity of flavors that comes together so completely. Eat with spoon. The delicate potato crisp finishes the bite with a little crunch. Udon picante - bell peppers, quinoa and 2 jumbo shrimp. Love the heat level. Comfort food at its best. Salmon parmesan - Nikkei sushi - seared salmon, parmesan bitter, eel sauce , arare, lime. Amazing. O toro sushi - the fattiest cut of tuna. Eat as is. Again chef prepared. No added seasoning required. Parri maki - fried shrimp, cream cheese, seared tuna topped with chimichurri, aji amarillo, chalaquita, ponzu. Food experience was enhanced by their impeccable taste in music. Super chill, soft beats stream the restaurant. With its perfect lighting too sets all the good moods for us. Don't wait for this fine dining experience of Japanese and Peruvian fusion. Note: when they ask if you want soy sauce, say No, thank you. It would be a shame to kill the taste of a beautiful dish with any added sauce. Kampai! Salud!

Great First Experience and Delicious Ramen!…read more This was my first time trying this ramen spot, and I was surprised to find out it was so close to my workplace. I came here with my coworkers for lunch after a training session, and I'm glad we decided to give it a try. We started with several appetizers: the Spicy Handmade Wontons, Kimchi, and Shishito Peppers. Everything was excellent. The kimchi was perfectly prepared with just the right amount of seasoning. The flavors enhanced the fermented cabbage without overpowering it. The shishito peppers were lightly flash-fried and seasoned with lemon and salt, giving them a nice balance of flavor and texture. They still retained their natural pepper taste and weren't overly greasy. The spicy handmade wontons were also packed with flavor and made a great start to the meal. For my entrée, I ordered the California Tonkotsu ramen without spice so I could fully appreciate the broth. I'm glad I did because the soup was rich, creamy, and full of depth. The pork was incredibly tender and practically melted in my mouth. The egg was cooked perfectly, with a soft yolk that complemented the richness of the broth beautifully. Overall, I had a great dining experience. The prices were reasonable for the quality and portion sizes, the service was attentive and friendly, and there was plenty of parking available. Everything from the appetizers to the ramen exceeded my expectations. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for quality ramen, and I'll absolutely be back to try more items on the menu!

My girlfriend has been to Kaori Sushi several times with her girlfriends, so when everyone decided…read moreto turn it into a triple date, we ended up with a party of six and collectively decided to go for the omakase. Now, I should probably explain that I am VERY new to seafood. My girlfriend has slowly been introducing me to sushi and different types of fish, and I've discovered some things I absolutely love and others that I still can't get past. So when everyone said omakase, I'll admit, I was a little intimidated. But as someone currently on a mission to explore seafood, challenge accepted. We started with the cucumber sunomono, and this was an excellent way to begin. I added some fresh ginger and absolutely loved it. Light, refreshing and immediately had me excited for what was coming next. Then came the asari clam miso soup. This one wasn't really for me, but I gave it a solid try! That's basically the entire point of this seafood adventure anyway. Next was the chef's choice sashimi, which I believe included salmon belly and yellowtail, and this was REALLY good. Beautiful cuts, great texture and flavor. Raw fish continues to be where I'm finding my happy place. Then came the main event: the nigiri. This was probably the most adventurous I've gotten with seafood yet. We had everything from uni and bluefin toro to kampachi, madai, scallop, black cod and unagi. I especially loved some of the lighter-colored fish with the bright, citrusy yuzu flavors. Those were easily some of my favorites. The food also started coming FAST. I remember scarfing down what I thought was my last piece of nigiri only for another plate to immediately appear with the unagi and black cod. I've learned from my previous seafood adventures that I really like unagi, and that held true here. The unagi was delicious. Black cod, however, has now gotten multiple chances from me and I think I'm finally ready to admit we're just not meant for each other. There's a particular fishy flavor that I haven't been able to get past. We finished the omakase with the negi toro hand roll, cut in two, and by the end I felt like I'd just completed an entire crash course in sushi. We also added a few things outside the omakase, including jalapeño bombs and chicken karaage. And after ALLLLLL that sushi... The chicken karaage was my favorite thing of the night. I know. I know. I survived an entire omakase, tried uni, toro, kampachi, madai, scallop, black cod and eel...and walked away talking about the fried chicken. But that karaage HIT. Overall, this was an awesome experience and I'm genuinely glad my girlfriend convinced me to jump into the deep end. The omakase helped me try several types of fish I probably never would have ordered individually and, more importantly, helped me figure out what I actually enjoy. Would I do the omakase again? Probably not, but that's not a knock against it at all. I feel like it accomplished exactly what I wanted it to. Next time I'd love to come back knowing what I like and explore the rest of the menu, maybe a bento or another entrée. For a former "I'm not a seafood guy" slowly figuring out that maybe I actually am a seafood guy...Kaori Sushi was one hell of a training session.

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Great ramen, sushi, and more for everyone!…read more The hubby and I'd learned about this place from a vegan acquaintance and were intrigued enough to make the trek from Long Beach to check it out. Located in an older shopping center, the interior had a clean, pleasant homey traditional Japanese look to it, but it did feel a bit cramped with divider walls. The main attraction for us was their vegan menu, of course, which turned out to be amazingly extensive (they have non-vegan stuff too). Generally, even if a restaurant offers vegan/vegetarian items it feels like a token afterthought, but not here. In addition to the ramen and sushi items we were expecting, there were a bunch we were not, like "meaty" dumplings, fried "shrimp", and "chicken" katsu curry (which I had to try). I was really wowed by this dish; the "chicken" felt like an actual breast meat filet, and the crispy coating was great. The curry was the real star, which had all the right flavors and texture that I remembered. The hubby had the Vegan Ecstasy ramen, which he really enjoyed. It had a delicious creamy broth with broccoli, corn, tofu slices, and delightfully chewy noodles. We also shared a vegan caterpillar roll; couldn't tell what they used for the "eel" (eggplant?), but since the star of caterpillar rolls is the avocado and sauce, it had the right flavor and texture. We were with my non-veg brother and nephew, who shared a salmon roll, CA roll, and spicy pork won tons, which they really liked. According to my brother the wontons were very spicy, with a lot of chili threads on top, so beware. They also gave us some complimentary vegan matcha ice cream at the end (has nuts, fyi), which we thought was a nice touch. The great food, service, and prices so wowed us that we brought my sister and her family here to celebrate some birthdays. I'd called ahead to reserve a table for our party of six, and we were sat at the large semi circle booth at the back. We ordered an assortment of veg and non-veg items and everyone loved the food. This is now our go-to for vegan ramen and Japanese food, especially if we're meeting up with non-veg people.
