Came here a few times and the food, atmosphere, and service has always been great! The inside is dimly lit for a more intimate ambiance. I recently came on a sunday afternoon with my girlfriends to celebrate and it was fairly simple to make a reservation. The portion sizes are really big so we decided to share everything. We ordered the galbi, carbonara, and corn cheese. The galbi itself is huge! It fed 3 girls and enough to take some home after. The meat is very tender and came with multiple sides including rice and salad that isn't pictured. The carbonara is delicious! I honestly can eat that without the noodles and just use it as a dipping sauce. You can add additional protein but we just had it as is which came with bacon and mushrooms. The corn cheese was okay, I don't think I would order it again. It was a little bland in my opining and not enough cheese to corn ratio. Tried this place out for the first time. So worth the hour drive! There was no wait when we came at around 2 pm on a Sunday. Service was decently fast. I was amazed by the amazing quality of all of the food- we ordered the Korean Galbi, gochujang rigatoni, and the calamari. My fiance said that this was the best calamari he ever had, and I really liked the sauces they provided with it! The galbi was soooo nice and tender, and their plate comes with so much too- definitely enough to share amongst 3-4 people, and that's a lot coming from a big back like me. Service was also quick and attentive! I rounded up to a 5 stars, but this place is more like a 4.5 to me- the only thing that's preventing it from being perfect is their rampant use of AI. When I called, they had an AI answer my questions, and the Ai voice was super annoying and kept interrupting my questions. The uncanny part about the AI responder is that they play restaurant ambient noises in the background so that it "feels" like you're talking to a real person- it just feels so dystopian in my opinion. They also play AI music constantly in the restaurant, which can be repetitive and annoying to some. I didn't take a picture of it, but some how a metal chard ended up in one of the pieces of the truffled potato appetizer. I was chewing and felt something sharp and weird in my mouth. My boyfriend and I have been wanting to try dPlace for a while so I decided to surprise him on his birthday. We went for an early Saturday dinner reservation and when we came inside, there was a very large party (about 35 people) waiting for a private room. Because of this, we stood by the door ungreeted by any staff and unsure if there was a host/hostess. Finally after the large party was seated, a hostess came out and showed us to our table but didn't really speak to us. Once we were seated, we realized we were supposed to order on a tablet but we thought it was strange that no one said anything to us. There was no "Hello, please take a look at our menu on the tablet" or any type of greeting. For a restaurant leaning on the "nicer" or pricier side, I'm used to being met with a hello or a little explanation of how the ordering works. The food comes out on a robot and a server would place it on our table without speaking to us or letting us know what the dish was. It just felt very strange and unhospitable. When we wanted to order drinks, we pressed the button to call a server and she was very nice and talkative. I think the servers were nice when you got a chance to talk to them but they really didn't take any initiative to take care of you or make you feel welcome. We weren't checked on until a new server came in at the end of our meal which is just not normal for this kind of restaurant. As for the food, we got the grapefruit burrata salad, the OC galbi, and the mala cream pasta. The grapefruit burrata salad was delicious and refreshing, both of our favorite dish of the night. The mala cream pasta was unique and very different from anything I've tried. I love malatang so this was a fun variation to try, although I probably would only want it as a shared dish. As for the galbi, the meat was very tender but unfortunately we felt it really lacked flavor. This is an interesting Korean American fusion restaurant, but I would consider it more American than Korean. Reasons for that: no rice (unless you order it separately), no banchan, not chop sticks, no soup ... Bossam is the same cut of meat but it's supposed to be steamed for a long time so that the fat really renders. Here, it's basically just cooked like pork belly. Good. But not bossam. Others at the table really liked the pork chops and American galbi as well. I didn't like them as much because I thought they were too sweet -- particularly the pork chops. It was Valentine's Day coming up and I was looking for a spot with asian fusion food that my girlfriend enjoys; I decided to reserve a table at dPlace since it was close to where we would be in the afternoon. It was a seamless process as I confirmed this on Yelp for a party of 2. A few days before, I also needed to reconfirm I was still going to attend. On the day off, we actually arrived roughly 20 minutes earlier and were able to get accommodated for seating. Parking was moderately packed but we didn't have issues getting a spot at around 5:30 pm. We were able to get a booth seat near the window with a little rose waiting for us. The light was dim so it definitely felt romantic. The music wasn't too loud here, so we were able to have a conversation. The store had a tablet at the table for us to browse through with photos and prices for reference. The UI had tabs on the side, so it was easy to filter between appetizers, pastas, etc. There's also a button on there to call the staff. When the order came, there was a neat little robot that carried the dishes. (It came mid conversation, so I forgot to record it lol). For our order, we got the spicy gochujang rigatoni, bulgogi mushroom risotto (level I spice), and OC galbi korean. The Rigatoni was one of their signature pasta dishes and left an impression; it was creamy and had a kick to it. When it came to the bulgogi, we were a bit surprised that it wasn't sweet. It was actually spicier than the rigatoni and we felt it was okay. The OC galbi was a set that came with marinated short rib, kimchi, celery pickle, beansprouts, and arugula salad. dPlace is what feels like an Italian Korean fusion restaurant in a busy plaza with plenty of parking in the back. We booked reservations for Saturday night at 6:15pm just in case and I'm so glad we did! It was poppin' and had parties waiting on the Yelp waitlist. They are pretty punctual about your reservation, we came early but due to the demand, we got seated at our reservation time. The restaurant itself is quite large! There seemed to be a more open area and then a few private rooms for large parties, but despite the amount of people I think dPlace does a great job with making each booth very private and cozy! My family appreciated the kiosks since they were so busy and it was very straight forward and easy to order. They got the cute cat bot servers here which made it very easy to get all our dishes at once. The burrata grapefruit salad and calamari came first as apps and I really really enjoyed the burrata salad! It was beautiful, the burrata was fresh, creamy, and mild which paired so well with the sweet cherry tomatoes and the slight bitterness of the grapefruit and the slight tartness of the salad dressing. This was one of my favorite dishes of the night. The calamari was solid, they give you a big piece with some scissors so you can cut it down to however size you like! My family members enjoyed having the 'meat tongs' per person so that everything was easily shareable. We ordered four entrees: 1. Korean OG Galbi - it felt like a tomahawk! Great amount of meat to feed 4 and the meat was juicy, the seasoning we felt was good. I appreciated the little pieces of chewy cartilage with meat bits personally! The arugula salad accompanying it was bitter but matched well with the savoriness. We loved the ban chan with this dish, solid bell sprout, the kimchi is fresh and not super strong, and the pickled jalapeno and celery dish was just the perfect amount of spicy and refreshing which helped cut the savory steak. 2. Spicy risotto - I'm weak with spice but let me tell you that this was spicy!! I only ate a fourth of the dish and I'm glad I did! Everyone else at the table said it was spicy but pretty good, given my tolerance I wasn't fully able to taste the flavors it encapsulated due to spice personally, but the seafood was good! 3. Gochujang Rigatoni - a table favorite among the entrees because of the great flavor! Soft and slathered in the creamy sauce. Very delicious, on its own but we ate it with some bits of steak :) 4. Jjamppong pasta - my family members are really big on flavor holding so they found this more bland but I personally liked it cause it's a subtle tomato flavor (the soup on its own is also really good!) and the seafood were all fresh. Pear Ade Drink I personally love sparkling drinks, so the fruity pear ade was right up my alley. Sunset Green Tea This drink was more so Green Tea with a tiny bit of passion fruit. Came here because I received a gift card. It's located in a strip mall with a Target and Barnes and Noble in the complex. There are a lot of restaurants in the area so the parking can get a little tight. There's a large waiting area in the front. I had an amazing time here for my birthday dinner! I really liked the ambiance of this place! The inside was clean and modern, and they had robot servers, which was so cool! The food was incredible! Who knew Korean-Italian fusion would be so good! The highlight of the meal for me was definitely the galbi which was perfectly tender and had a delicious marinade. However I also love my pasta, and the pastas here were next level! We got the truffle salmon pasta which was creamy and well seasoned, and the rose pasta which was my favorite of the two. For appetizers we got the seafood salad and the hummus with pita. The yuzu dressing on the salad was very refreshing and pried nicely with the seafood. The hummus was good, but tasted pretty mush the same as any hummus I've had before. I also got a complimentary butter cake for telling them it was my birthday, which was a bit dry, but I can't really complain since it was free. Overall I really enjoyed the food here, and the atmosphere. All the servers were very friendly and attentive. I'd gladly spend another birthday dinner here! read more

Unfortunately, my lady and I left dPlace disappointed. My cousin had really hyped this place up, so I had been really excited to try it out. It was a cute spot, nicely decorated and perfect for a date night. Service was great and very helpful. You actually order through a tablet, though there's always a staff member around should you have any questions. Now, the food was the biggest disappointment. I tried their famous OC galbi, korean style and found it to be pretty under-marinated. I was hoping to get that classic galbi flavor explosion, but it just wasn't there. The steak was soft and cooked nicely, at least. Another dish I was excited for was their calamari and I was underwhelmed by it as well. Again, there was just a lack of flavor. My favorite dish was their truffle garlic fries, but it was pretty expensive ($16). Maybe my lady and I came on a bad night, but we're in no rush to come back. read more

I had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday lunch here and this place exceeded my expectations! I made a reservation and everything went super smooth. The place itself was huge, I can tell that this place can get poppin during peak hours. I would recommend ordering with the server since the tablet was unfortunately missing some pasta dishes. We ordered truffle salmon pasta, rose teokbokki penne, galbi fried rice, and OC Galbi Korean style. The star of the show was definitely the OC Galbi--as raved about by most if not all of the people who've been here! The meat was flavorful, tender, and we loved the banchan that comes with it. It fed a group of 5-6 just fine with all the other dishes we had. The pastas were amazing as well, as they were all the perfect fusion of Korean and Italian. The fried rice was also a staple rice dish that paired well with everything else. I loved my experience here and need to come back to try the different pastas and to take another bite of that mouthwatering OC Galbi! read more
