The truffle potato jeon is a definitely popular plate for a reason. Similar to a scallion pancake. My wife had the mala rose tteobokki with rigatoni. Great quality and taste and priced well. I had the Picanha steak which was not on the paper menu but was on the iPad menu. The chimichurri sauce was good but overpowered the taste of the meat a bit but overall, I enjoyed my meal. The potatoes were excellent. Our server, Kimberly was attentive and did a great job going over the menu considering it was our first time. Ambience is super chill. Loved the music. Everything was also beautifully plated, which made the whole meal feel even more special. This is definitely a great place for a date, family dinner, or a small gathering. One of our servers, Jane, was especially friendly and sweet, and her service made our experience even better. The prices are on the higher side, but considering the quality of the food, atmosphere, and service, I think it's worth it for a nice meal or special occasion. Ordering is a little different here since everything is placed through a tablet mounted to the table. The food is delivered by a robot, while a server monitors the robots and helps remove the beverages and plates. It was a fun and unique concept. Overall, the food was decent. I love how the tables are organized so you don't feel overcrowded by the other parties dining. We shared the OC Galbi Korean and the spicy gochujang rigatoni. Both dishes were phenomenal and I love how tender and flavorful the meat was. The galbi came with a yummy citrusy salad to balance everything out and it also come with unlimited refills with the banchan which were very refreshing. We got served multiple closed mussels and were told they come from a vendor who boils/steams them before they get delivered. Nevertheless, the risk of eating a mussel that's died prior to cooking is high enough for Vibrio contamination that it should be weeded out BEFORE serving to customers. One of the managers said it was safe, but my dad is immunocompromised so he skipped all the seafood we ordered. But that's quite literally the only issue we've had in the 5+ times we've visited. DPlace Steak & Pasta has quickly become one of those restaurants we genuinely look forward to coming back to. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is beautiful, but what really separates this place from a lot of other restaurants is the service. The service here is seriously 100/10. Everyone is incredibly attentive without hovering. We were constantly being checked on, water was kept filled, empty plates didn't sit around forever, and someone was always making sure we had everything we needed. What I especially appreciated was that it didn't feel forced or scripted. The staff genuinely seemed aware of what was happening at the table. That's becoming harder and harder to find, and DPlace absolutely nails it. Now the food. The Korean Galbi, OMG. This came out on a huge platter and immediately got everyone's attention. The amount of meat alone was impressive. It was beautifully charred, incredibly tender, and packed with that sweet, savory Korean BBQ flavor. You get those caramelized edges from the grill while the meat stays juicy inside. There were pieces around the bone, sliced pieces, slightly crispier pieces, basically every good part of galbi piled onto one platter. It also comes with rice, salad, and Korean style sides, including kimchi and pickled vegetables, which were perfect for cutting through the richness of the meat. This is definitely something I would order again, especially if you're dining with other people and want something everyone can share. Then there's the Spicy Shrimp Rosé Pasta. Completely different direction from the galbi, but just as good. The sauce was creamy, rich, and had enough heat to actually deserve the word "spicy." The spice doesn't overpower the dish though, you still get the creaminess and tomato flavor of the rosé sauce. They weren't stingy with the shrimp either. There were large shrimp throughout the pasta, the noodles were completely coated in sauce, and the Parmesan on top brought everything together. The toasted bread on the side was perfect for soaking up whatever sauce was left in the bowl. Definitely don't let that sauce go to waste. One of the things I really like about DPlace is that the menu gives you options you normally wouldn't expect to find together. You can have an amazing Korean galbi platter sitting next to a bowl of creamy pasta and somehow neither one feels like an afterthought. They actually execute both extremely well. The ambiance is another huge plus. It's modern, clean, and upscale without feeling overly formal or stuffy. The lighting and decor make it feel nice enough for a date night or celebration, but it's still comfortable enough to come for a casual dinner with family or friends. It's honestly one of those restaurants that works for almost any occasion. But I keep coming back to the service because that's what really completes the experience here. Great food can bring you into a restaurant once, great service is what makes you want to return, and DPlace has both. Korean Galbi, 10/10 Spicy Shrimp Rosé Pasta, 10/10 Ambiance, 10/10 Service, easily 100/10 DPlace is officially one of our spots. Clean, felt elegant with such minimal decor. We sat in a booth and it felt like we were the only ones there (it was intimate and wasn't too loud, until the music got louder). Some of our favorite dishes are the OC galbi Korean, prosciutto grapefruit burrata, and grilled miso bossam. However, we had an awful service experience last night, which is why I'm giving them only 3 stars. You have to order the food using a tablet so we did (we were a party of 13 so we put in a lot of food). However, you order the drinks through a server. We got our drinks in a timely manner but noticed our food never came (this was 45 minutes into us getting seated and ordering). We noticed all the tables that got seated after us got their food so we asked the server what is going on. He then goes to check on our food and tells us the ordering tablet crashed when we put our order in and it never made it to the kitchen... he eventually told us he was able to retrieve the order and it was placed. We got our first dishes over an hour into ordering it. Our frustration is that if we never said anything, our server would have never noticed we weren't getting our food? As someone who worked in the service industry before, it feels like common sense to notice things like this and see what's going on before the customer complains, especially because the server walked by us many many times. They also missed parts of our order and after complaining to the manager, she was gracious enough to give us 10% off and some desserts but we felt like 60% of our meal was waiting... waiting for our original order, waiting for the missed orders, waiting for our comp desserts ~ basically was at the restaurant for almost 3 hrs just waiting for things. The meat is very tender and came with multiple sides including rice and salad that isn't pictured. The carbonara is delicious! I honestly can eat that without the noodles and just use it as a dipping sauce. You can add additional protein but we just had it as is which came with bacon and mushrooms. The corn cheese was okay, I don't think I would order it again. It was a little bland in my opining and not enough cheese to corn ratio. The salmon is thick-cut, seared (I think) crispy on top and soft in the middle, and it is not fishy at all! Drizzle with lemon and it's perfect--they really cooked it to perfection. The galbi was soooo nice and tender, and their plate comes with so much too- definitely enough to share amongst 3-4 people, and that's a lot coming from a big back like me. Service was also quick and attentive! I rounded up to a 5 stars, but this place is more like a 4.5 to me- the only thing that's preventing it from being perfect is their rampant use of AI. When I called, they had an AI answer my questions, and the Ai voice was super annoying and kept interrupting my questions. The uncanny part about the AI responder is that they play restaurant ambient noises in the background so that it "feels" like you're talking to a real person- it just feels so dystopian in my opinion. They also play AI music constantly in the restaurant, which can be repetitive and annoying to some. Know this place is relatively know since this was a Souplantation. The moment we entered the restaurant, it has this relaxing k-drama vibe. The light is kinda dim with an auto serving robot. Highkey recommend this place for large parties/groups!! There is a semi private room located in the back that is available to book for a $50 deposit to guarantee/hold. This deposit will be taken off the bill and there is no minimum spend or set menu. I was told the room sits 20-25 comfortably. Oooooou! We stopped in for a treat. Korean meets Western and it was so good! I wish we were hungry enough to order more items but we shared a platter and it was filling. Prices are decent. Everything was flavorful. Lots of parking available. They have these cool robots delivering food. Service was pretty standard. Nothing stood out too much. Highly recommend trying this place. You don't have to cook it yourself like a Korean bbq place, but the meat is so flavorful and tender. read more
