Enrico is a Pittsburgh staple that I somehow have missed over the past several years of living here. After stumbling inside while meandering through the strip the smell of chocolate and baked goods was unreal. Seriously I need Enrico's to bottle this smell and sell it. They are known for their biscotti, which was incredible. I've never had biscotti like theirs; it was soft but not crumbly, and didn't feel like you'd break your teeth off without sacrificing texture and flavor. The chocolate chip cookie I got was so flavorful and soft and delicious. My friends brownie was also excellent. I love this bakery and can't wait to come back!

Stumbled in while wandering The Strip one morning and saw the line. Figured huh- what's the buzz? Walking in, the scent of the bakery is soooooo welcoming. We got a variety of biscotti and cookies. All homemade and delicious! Only wish I had something to dip my biscotti in.

This cute little biscotti shop in the Strip is a great place to stop in and satisfy your sweet tooth. It smells amazing in here, everything is so fresh, and the employees are very friendly. I thought the prices were fair for the quality of the goods. The hardest decision you'll make is what to buy today and what to put on the back burner for your next visit.

Get one of everything!!! Stood in line and well worth it. Guest in front of us was a local and said he comes weekly for their bread. He also suggested the macaroons and any of the biscottis. Welp, he wasn't wrong!! There are plenty of intriguing options of biscotti, but there's more!! They have bread, cookies, macaroons, Buckeyes (get these), Italian cookies, and even doggie biscotti. You can tell these are all homemade. The flavors and freshness are awesome. The flavors of all we ordered - biscotti (you can get a 6 or 12 pack), peanut butter cookie, Buckeyes, Italian cookies- were beyond delicious. This is such an authentic little shop. Nothing fancy, but perfect. The line goes fast and the staff is super friendly.

This was once my favorite place. Took the classes and made it a stop every time we came to the strip. Today was the final time I will ever step foot into the place. Here is why. I don't carry cash anymore but this morning I took the 2 $50 bills I got for my birthday a week ago and upon seeing the little black cookbook for sale decided to buy one. I presented it at the register and the girl said $32 and some cents I don't remember. I handed her one of those 50s turned my back to see if that price was on that sign. Upon turning back around she handed me my change and I started to turn and realized that something wasn't right. In my hand was $8. I informed her that she gave me the wrong change and she says (opening the drawer) you gave me a twenty. I asked her to check under the drawer where they keep the big bills and she said that they don't do that and proceeded to show me that there were no 50 dollar bills in the drawer. They ripped me off for $10 bucks and even though that isn't much it goes to show how far this place has fallen.

I tried their biscotti last week and it was the BEST biscotti I have ever had. At first I wasn't sure but as I kept chewing I got so many different flavors of sweet and salty with a slight bitter dark chocolate flavor. They stayed fresh over the weekend and we continued to enjoy the chewy texture with our coffee in the morning while we were visiting family. I highly suggest making the trip to Penn avenue to grab a box for your next holiday or family get together.

My updated review is about a class we recently attended. Classes just are not what they used to be. I truly enjoyed taking these classes in the past and used to give them out as gifts .. might be time to look elsewhere :(. My sisters and I took the cookie class in December - the dinner was good (I do miss Larry's interactions and story telling -- guess we were spoiled but he made the event special and that is very much missing now). The young lady who taught the class.. just missed the mark in my opinion. Not at all engaging for a group of people spending a lot of money to take a course and many in the overall group were frustrated with the feeling she just did not want to be there (the playing on the phone and some comments made). Note- if you don't like something great! Keep it to yourself. Your teaching a class and what you are making is a staple at the bakery you represent...it's the best cookie ever made! Also .. we were supposed to get the recipes emailed .. a month later and still nothing. I get the holidays are busy but you should have those ready for the class.

Stopped in with my mom while exploring the strip since she's a big biscotti fan, and we're so glad we did! The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, and we ended up grabbing a bag of assorted end pieces so we could try a variety of flavors. Every single one of was delicious and I've been dipping them in my coffee every morning. Definitely a sweet little gem in the strip!

I took an Italian Easter pie class. We made a two pies one savory and one rice pie. Very interesting and fun class. We started out with an Italian meal for dinner that they make you and while you are eating they explain all about the Easter pies in Italy. After dinner the class begins they showed us how to make the crust and the fillings and then you do your pies all hands on. They cook them and boxed them up for us to take home. I have taken other classes that they offer an have been very happy with all the experiences I have had. They offer Bread making, Pizza, sauce, pie, cookie classes they also have dinners they offer called First Friday dinner and another one Big Italian Thowdown. They also have a Trip they do going to Italy each year all arranged with a tour guide, they don't always go to the same area in Italy each year may be a different area. I have to tell you about the store front they have on the Strip district they have the BEST most delicious biscotti I have ever had they also sell pies and cookies, focaccia's, panettone's, Easter bread (seasonal) Breads, Chocolate Babka everything is always delicious at Enrico's. Their service is excellent and staff so so friendly. I came to the class by myself and after class Trisha offer to walk me to my car (class was from 6pm-9pm) I said I would be fine but she took my phone number and text me to make sure I got to my car ok ( how nice) I highly recommended going to Enrico's for a class or shopping or for lunch you won't be disappointed!

The pecan pie is the best I've ever eaten! The crust is buttery and the filling is full of pecans with a most delicious dark molasses taste. The price is right, too!

A friend and I attended one of the bread making classes here recently and we loved every second of it -- the class begins with a brunch served family style: we had beans and greens, breakfast risotto with Italian sausage and poached eggs, pasta, bacon, pastries and salad. Coffee and wine are also served. We each made a loaf of rustic Italian bread in the brick oven, along with a focaccia with tons of topping options. Their famous biscotti and coffee were offered during one of our breaks. They tell the history of bread baking and offer tips to make your own at home. I would take another class and also recommend it to friends/

    So many choices!

So many choices of fresh delicious biscotti. I wish it wasn't 100° out, I would have tried so many more (and carried some chocolate dipped varieties back with me).

    Yum!!

Bryan and Justin will meet you at the door and will introduce you to their workshop. There is a spread of antipasto to snack on which was curated very well. Each person gets to make 4 (four!!) dozen raviolis each. The class is extremely informative and fun. She recognized her absence and offered us a surprise tiramisu (complimentary) to make up for the lack of attentiveness to our table. Seating: A large bar stretches the restaurant accompanied by wooden chairs, tables and a few booths tucked against the parallel wall. The seating is not tight, meaning you have space between yourself and other parties but the wooden chairs/tables were uncomfortable. In 2026, we just expected a little more from a restaurant charging $20+ for pasta plates. Their menu is excellent... it's filled with so many appetizing options! We started with their stuffed peppers - OMG, EXCELLENT!! Any time I'm in the Pittsburgh area I need to try a few things, this being one of them. These were probably some of the best I've ever had! The sauce was finely ground and really flavorful. The peppers were perfectly cooked to keep their beauty and texture and they were spicy too! We also requested a large order of their table bread and asked for a side of EVOO with it. I sprinkled grated pecorino and freshly ground red chili flakes into the EVOO to make an incredible dipping sauce which worked perfectly with that bread! For my entrée I enjoyed their amazing Spinach Tagliatelle which came perfectly presented and tasted amazing! I don't normally like white pizza nor squash on my pizza(?), but this tasted rather good and unique! The scallop mezzaluna was as if the scallop was a ravioli filling. Seated via OpenTable Reservations…read more Food & Drink: - Mixed Drink(s): 5 / 5 Sip of Sunshine Old Fashioned - My server recommended it and I couldn't understand why he called it SOS until I had it. Spoiler: it's not the name. Clean, clear, smells like any other bourbon until that first sip reveals just how perfectly blended it is. The kind of drink you savor while watching the sun set on the horizon. Crème Brûlée Espresso Martini - As my heart rate settled from the first drink I needed something to kick it back up. One sip and I could've read the dictionary cover to cover without blinking. Close your eyes and the aroma takes you straight to that first cup of coffee fresh out of the pot. Lemon Blueberry Cheesecake Martini - Beautiful presentation but flatter in flavor than the previous two. However for a final cocktail that was exactly the point -- the perfect calm down after a rich and spicy meal. - Food: 4.25 / 5 Bread, Oil & Dip: A great palate cleanser that quickly taught me the chef loves his spices. The dip was described as "Italian Hummus" and if this is the standard I completely understand the hype. Appetizer - Ceviche Peruviano: Think of that forgotten appetizer thrown together last minute for a dinner party, a hodgepodge of raw fish and vegetables. But every bite delivers an explosion of complementary flavors, and that sneaky hint of spice hiding in the raw fish bites will wake you up immediately. Pre-pasta - Tuscan Kale Salad: Needed something to cleanse my palate after the spicy ceviche and frankly I am tired of Caesar salad. Not a kale fan normally because it tastes like dirt, but the lemon vinaigrette adds just enough flavor to make that dirt genuinely enjoyable. Pasta - Cacio E Pepe: Easily the highlight. My buddy describes it perfectly as fancy fettuccine. I have never liked fettuccine until now. My server, who prepared it himself, recommended adding house chili oil for a slight kick. I went one click past recommended and even then it was still divine. I would order it again without hesitation. Entrée - Veal Chop, Lobster Tail & Vegetables (Chef's preference): After riding Cloud 9 all evening I felt like Icarus flying too close to the sun. One word: bland. The veal was overcooked with all the flavor locked into the fat, and the lobster tail tasted like a convenience store impulse buy. The best use of those bones would be soup stock. I had no desire to finish it. Dessert - Tuxedo Crème Brûlée: As much as I wanted the house raspberry tiramisu I left the choice to my server after some back and forth. He recommended this for its balance of sweetness and berry bitterness and he was right. The perfect final note to tap out on. Service: 10 / 5 Even now, I still don't think I tipped my server enough. Dining alone, he made the evening feel like I had a companion at the table. Great conversation, personalized attention, and a level of service that few will ever experience. It was a pleasure to talk to someone who knows and appreciates food as much as I do. If you want an exceptional dining experience, request AJ as your server. I promise you won't be disappointed. Vibe: 5 / 5 Presentation, presentation, presentation. That is the theme every dish and the environment itself conveys the moment you walk through the doors at Alla Famiglia. This is a place for those who want to feel bourgeois for the night. Overall 4.25 / 5: My goal in life is to become a regular somewhere. There is something special about finding a place you love so much that every visit still feels like a new experience. Alla Famiglia is exactly that type of place. During my visit I was introduced to new items and dishes not listed on the menu, which only adds to that sense of discovery. It may be a while before I return since this place isn't cheap and my restaurant bucket list is long, but I will be back. Hopefully AJ is still there when I do, because that is exactly the kind of server you want in your corner as a regular. Recommend? Absolutely

A friend told us how good Big Jim's was and we are so glad we decided to go try it…read more We were warmly greeted when we entered. The waitress was also very nice and accommodating the entire time. A man was also very helpful and brought us things we may need. I really enjoyed the super meaty and delicious meatballs on my meatball hoagie. The Marinara was really good. My husband's Italian and absolutely loved the veal cutlet sandwich. It was huge, crunchy and tasty. It made him nostalgic for the veal cutlets his grandmother used to make. The Fresh-cut Fries were good but weren't seasoned well enough. I also wish they were crunchier. We saw a man order the Stromboli and it was ginormous but looked delicious. He was a big guy and only ate about 25% of it. Got my mom a corned beef sandwich and she said it one of the best she had ever had. We're Irish and she loves them. There are lots of great things on the menu and will be back to try other things.
