First off want to point out that I do not want to trash a small business owner working out of his home garage trying to earn a living. I simply want to point out the truth and experience and as a recent reviewer wrote I wonder how he gets excellent reviews when he can improve his business in several ways. Let me start with his attitude. Because English isn't his first language he overcompensates by showing confidence in how he talks and comes off arrogant to a normal person. But of course I am willing to overlook this because all I care about is getting the value and end result of my project. I conclude he only talks the way he does because he wants to show he isn't some minority that is ready to be exploited. Ok so I get that.. And his loud voice is simply because he is hard of hearing. I confirmed that because the guy I asked to drop my items off to him yelled back at him and Enrique said why are you yelling at me, and he said because you raise your voice first. Enrique then said its because he is hard of hearing. Now onto the work. 1) I believe Enrique isn't used to dealing with higher end quality cars. I wanted alcantara material on my headliner that matches what I already have. I brought to him my own true alcantara fabric. He wanted to give me some fake material instead and said mine was not the stretchable kind. So I reorder another set of padded fabric and he still says it's wrong but tried the job anyway. Shown in the pics is his incomplete job and the work another shop finished where Enrique couldn't. 2) he asked for a deposit before the job and as someone indicated only accepts cash. Why ask a deposit when you have all my material and it's you who owes me a job done? You have my material so if I don't pay you I have nothing. 3) fortunately he gave me my deposit back because he couldn't finish and I brought it to another shop that got the job done. I believe he's ok for the basic work, but because he didn't complete it I can't give him an acceptable rating. Instead of giving 1 star I give 2 stars because he gave my money back without too much resistance. read more

So I call him last Thursday and he gave me a quote over the phone after I text the photos of my headliner which was in bad shape, so we set up an appointment for this coming Saturday which is today. My mom has a 1999 Corolla with a deteriorating head upholstery that was flapping around. I found Enrique and agree with the folks with their reviews. We had my moms car reupholstered last year during the pandemic. Enrique was working from his home and was safe with Covid protocols and even wiped the keys with Clorox wipes before handing it to us. His workmanship is amazing and quality. Will definitely return for future services and definitely recommend. My moms car looks new again. Saturday afternoon, December 21, 2014...I drive up to find Enrique working on a car while I'm in my 1998 Land Rover Discovery with a saggy headliner. Before I even get out of the car Enrique is already asking what I need. I say headliner and without hesitation he gives me a price without even looking at it yet. Tells me to bring it back tomorrow morning so he can start on it. If you're not familiar with a Discovery, allow me to tell you its a lot of work to get the headliner out. Two sunroofs and various panels containing electronic plugs in the ceiling. Pain in the ass that I was not willing to tackle myself. Back to Enrique, he jumps in the truck and starts telling me 'oh man this is a lot of work' which made me think he would up his price but thankfully he didn't or I probably would have walked away. He tells me he needs to cut a piece of fabric from the original headliner so he has a sample for the fabric he needs to buy. He cuts the sample then measures the roof line to see how much fabric he needs to buy. Gets his measurements then gives me an invoice to fill out, takes a small deposit and tells me to bring it back at 9:00am and it will be done the same day. I drop it off at 9 so Enrique can start working his magic. At 12:45 I get a call from Enrique saying it would not be ready today because he had just finished taking the headliner out. He offers to send me pictures of the headliner via text but I just head over there to see the work. He has the headliner out but still has to scrape all the old material off and promises me it would be done the next day. Now before you go thinking "that's messed up, he said it would be done the same day" remember that this is the SUNDAY before Christmas, how many upholstery guys do you know that work on Sunday? So I wasn't really bothered by it since I would rather him take his time then do a rush job. I get a call Monday about 2:00pm "hello this is Enrique, your car will be ready by 4:00pm." I picked up my Discovery at 4:00pm and was happy with the work. Enrique did a good job at a great price. The color was perfect and I no longer have a saggy headliner that blow in the wind when the windows are down, my headliner is tight and toned and ready for summer! I'll definitely be going back to Enrique for more upholstery, he even offered to clean and condition my leather seats for a fair price, I just might take him up on that! So in short, go find Enrique's shop, let him know what you need and see his work for yourself. I would get a few quotes from other shops so you can compare to what Enrique quotes you and you'll see what everyone is talking about on his reasonable pricing. read more

When I called and left a message, Enrique called me back right away with an estimate that I could live with a price more than fair. Scheduled an appointment the next day to look at samples of color. They know their craft and were able to make short work of my small project 3 - 4 hours. The headliner is perfectly installed and looks like it came from the factory. My car's passenger seat had multiple rips and general wear and tear exposing the foam beneath it. Enrique provided a reasonable quote and estimate of how long the job would take based on pictures of the seat I texted him. He took an initial deposit to reserve my slot and dedicated the whole day for my car. I dropped it off at 9 am and it was done by 4:30 pm the same day! He's patient, extremely kind, and did a fantastic job! The leather matches perfectly and has added at least 10 more years to the seat's condition. First off I have a 68' Chevelle that I'm restoring and if anyone knows anything about classic cars you know how much work is put into the smallest of details. Enrique has shown true professionalism and is a master of his craft. He is a remote worker and came to my house twice to get everything right. The stock black basket weave seats in my sports car had seen better days. The vinyl on the bolsters was cracking and dry. The bottom cushions had holes in them. I thought about getting OEM style recover kits, but I really wanted something unique. I like the look of historic Porsche and Mercedes cars with plaid or houndstooth cushions and backrest and figured I could get them recovered in this style if I could find an upholstery fabric I liked. I got a great deal on houndstooth fabric on e-Bay and I found Enrique was willing to supply the black vinyl and redo both seats using the existing covers as a pattern. I couldn't be happier with the way they turned out. I would highly recommend Enrique's upholstery shop. read more

The headliner fabric on my Volkswagen GTI had completely falling down, to the point where I was trying to tape it up so I could see out the back. Enrique ordered fabric that was a close match to the original, and once that arrived, he had my car (at his house, his shop is no more) for two days. It looks completely brand new. The price was very reasonable given how much work is involved in removing/reinstalling the headliner. Good to know: Payment was in cash and I had to give a deposit for the fabric which I initially balked at, but I think it's perfectly reasonable. I wouldn't hesitate to use Enrique's services again, but he says my headliner is good for 10 years so I probably won't need to! read more

First I want to point out as another reviewer did that he moved to the back of the building. Even before he moved it is not super easy to find via Google maps or any other mapping service so here's some help: New Address: 1039 Montague Expy, Milpitas CA (around the back from where he used to be). Directions: If you exit off 680 onto Montague Expressway going west, the first light is Montague Court. turn right and keep driving straight past the trucks. Drive all the way to the back and you'll see a smaller building at the very back. According to the other reviewer you will see the address 1045 on the building (his old address). If you drive past the right side of this building, Enrique's Upholstery is around the back, on the left side as you're looking back toward Montague Expy. He has two garages/bays. Enrique is very nice, helpful and honest. I called him to see if he could take some scratches out of my leather seats (two seat Miata) as I was preparing to sell the car. He said it depended on what the leather was like and to bring it in. I did and although he would have been able to fix them, it was a major job, he would have had to remove the seats and it would be expensive. He offered to clean and put leather conditioner on them for free and said it would take 5 minutes. He then worked on the passenger seat for about 15 minutes finally rubbing the leather conditioner in after cleaning it. He said we should let it soak in for 10 minutes. He then asked me if I wanted him to to the drivers seat. I said sure but I told him that I wanted to pay him as he was spending much more time than he initially said. He just said ok. All in all he spent more than a half hour on them and in the end you could barely see the scratches anymore and the seats looked close to new. When I asked him how much he just said "pay for my lunch". I offered him $20 which was a bargain for what a difference it made. Yes I probably could have done it myself but I would have paid at least $20 for the cleaner and conditioner and possibly bought something that didn't work as near as well as what Enrique had. Negative 5 stars This is most awful place you can do business with. We took our car here to get the headline replace. When we got the car back the headliner was NOT repaired correctly. The cloth around the pillars were cut short and didn't fit and therefore wasn't wedge in. There was glue on the interior and exteriors of the car. The interior moonroof shade handle was cracked with glue spot all over it. Enrique has no clue what he is doing. He doesn't respect clients property. He is rude and incompetent. When I called to get my deposit back so I can use it towards fixing my car else where, he refused and hung up the phone. Im going to take legal action at point for damage he did to our car. read more

Enrique did upholstery on my 34 years Volvo. My seats were almost completely ripped. I have given him enough time and did not hustle him for time as I was on emergency travel. When I saw the car I could not believe my eyes. My Volvo looks like a brand new Mercedes inside. I went back to him and told him I came to "complain" - because now I need a new paint! I wen to give him $100, (not a tip), but appreciation for hard and honest work for more than a reasonable price because I feel I underpaid him for the quality of work he did.
